창세기 20:1-21:34

 아브라함이 그랄에 거주할 때 아비멜렉이 사라를 취하자 하나님께서 그에게 현몽하셔서 사라를 보낼 것을 명령하셨다. 이에 아비멜렉은 많은 재물과 함께 사라를 돌려보냈다. 하나님께서 약속하신 기한이 이르러 사라가 이삭을 낳았다. 이스마엘이 이삭을 희롱하는 사건이 벌어지자 하나님께서는 아브라함으로 하여금 하갈과 이스마엘을 내쫓게 하셨다.
  
  아브라함과 아비멜렉(20:1-20:18)    
 
  1. Now Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of the Negev, and settled between Kadesh and Shur; then he sojourned in Gerar.
  2. Abraham said of Sarah his wife, "She is my sister " So Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
  3. But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him, "Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married."
  4. Now Abimelech had not come near her; and he said, "Lord, will You slay a nation, even though blameless?
  5. "Did he not himself say to me, 'She is my sister'? And she herself said, 'He is my brother ' In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this."
  1. アブラハム は， そこから ネゲブ の 地方へ 移り， カデシュ と シュル の 間に 住みついた． ゲラル に 滯在中，
  2. アブラハム は， 自分の 妻 サラ のことを， 「これは 私の 妹です． 」と 言ったので， ゲラル の 王 アビメレク は， 使いをやって， サラ を 召し 入れた．

  1. Then God said to him in the dream, "Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.
  2. "Now therefore, restore the man's wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours."
  3. So Abimelech arose early in the morning and called all his servants and told all these things in their hearing; and the men were greatly frightened.
  4. Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, "What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done."
  5. And Abimelech said to Abraham, "What have you encountered, that you have done this thing?"
  1. 神は 夢の 中で， 彼に 仰せられた． 「そうだ． あなたが 正しい 心でこの 事をしたのを， わたし 自身よく 知っていた． それでわたしも， あなたがわたしに 罪を 犯さないようにしたのだ． それゆえ， わたしは， あなたが 彼女に 觸れることを 許さなかったのだ．
  2. 今， あの 人の 妻を 返していのちを 得なさい． あの 人は 預言者であって， あなたのために 祈ってくれよう． しかし， あなたが 返さなければ， あなたも， あなたに 屬するすべての 者も， 必ず 死ぬことをわきまえなさい． 」
  3. 翌朝早く， アビメレク は 彼のしもべを 全部呼び 寄せ， これらのことをみな 語り 聞かせたので， 人¿は 非常に 恐れた．
  4. それから， アビメレク は アブラハム を 呼び 寄せて 言った． 「あなたは 何ということを， してくれたのか． あなたが 私と 私の 王國とに， こんな 大きな 罪をもたらすとは， いったい 私がどんな 罪をあなたに 犯したのか． あなたはしてはならないことを， 私にしたのだ． 」
  5. また， アビメレク は アブラハム に 言った． 「あなたはどういうつもりで， こんなことをしたのか． 」
  1. Abraham said, "Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.
  2. "Besides, she actually is my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife;
  3. and it came about, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, 'This is the kindness which you will show to me: everywhere we go, say of me, "He is my brother."'"
  4. Abimelech then took sheep and oxen and male and female servants, and gave them to Abraham, and restored his wife Sarah to him.
  5. Abimelech said, "Behold, my land is before you; settle wherever you please."
  1. アブラハム は 答えた． 「この 地方には， 神を 恐れることが 全くないので， 人¿が 私の 妻のゆえに， 私を 殺すと 思ったからです．
  2. また， ほんとうに， あれは 私の 妹です． あの 女は 私の 父の 娘ですが， 私の 母の 娘ではありません． それが 私の 妻になったのです．
  3. 神が 私を 父の 家からさすらいの 旅に 出されたとき， 私は 彼女に， 『こうして， あなたの 愛を 私のために 盡くしておくれ． 私たちが 行くどこででも， 私のことを， この 人は 私の 兄です， と 言っておくれ． 』と 賴んだのです． 」
  4. そこで， アビメレク は， 羊の 群れと 牛の 群れと 男女の 奴隷たちを 取って 來て， アブラハム に 與え， また アブラハム の 妻 サラ を 彼に 返した．
  5. そして， アビメレク は 言った． 「見よ． 私の 領地があなたの 前に 廣がっている． あなたの 良いと 思う 所に 住みなさい． 」
  1. To Sarah he said, "Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver; behold, it is your vindication before all who are with you, and before all men you are cleared."
  2. Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his maids, so that they bore children.
  3. For the LORD had closed fast all the wombs of the household of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.
  1. 彼はまた サラ に 言った． 「ここに， 銀千枚をあなたの 兄に 與える． きっと， これはあなたといっしょにいるすべての 人の 前で， あなたを 守るものとなろう． これですべて， 正しいとされよう． 」
  2. そこで， アブラハム は 神に 祈った． 神は アビメレク とその 妻， および， はしためたちをいやされたので， 彼らはまた 子を 産むようになった．
  3. 主が， アブラハム の 妻， サラ のゆえに， アビメレク の 家のすべての 胎を 堅く 閉じておられたからである．
 
  이삭의 출생(21:1-21:34)    
 
  1. Then the LORD took note of Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had promised.
  2. So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the appointed time of which God had spoken to him.
  3. Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.
  4. Then Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
  5. Now Abraham was one hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
  1. 主は， 約束されたとおり， サラ を 顧みて， 仰せられたとおりに 主は サラ になさった．
  2. サラ はみごもり， そして 神が アブラハム に 言われたその 時期に， 年老いた アブラハム に 男の 子を 産んだ．
  3. アブラハム は， 自分に 生まれた 子， サラ が 自分に 産んだ 子を イサク と 名づけた．
  4. そして アブラハム は， 神が 彼に 命じられたとおり， 八日目になった 自分の 子 イサク に 割禮を 施した．
  5. アブラハム は， その 子 イサク が 生まれたときは 百歲であった．
  1. Sarah said, "God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh with me."
  2. And she said, "Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age."
  3. The child grew and was weaned, and Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
  4. Now Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.
  5. Therefore she said to Abraham, "Drive out this maid and her son, for the son of this maid shall not be an heir with my son Isaac."
  1. サラ は 言った． 「神は 私を 笑われました． 聞く 者はみな， 私に 向かって 笑うでしょう． 」
  2. また 彼女は 言った． 「だれが アブラハム に， 『サラ が 子どもに 乳を 飮ませる． 』と 告げたでしょう． ところが 私は， あの 年寄りに 子を 産みました． 」
  3. その 子は 育って 乳離れした． アブラハム は イサク の 乳離れの 日に， 盛大な 宴會を 催した．
  4. そのとき， サラ は， エジプト の 女 ハガル が アブラハム に 産んだ 子が， 自分の 子 イサク をからかっているのを 見た．
  5. それで アブラハム に 言った． 「このはしためを， その 子といっしょに 追い 出してください． このはしための 子は， 私の 子 イサク といっしょに 跡取りになるべきではありません． 」
  1. The matter distressed Abraham greatly because of his son.
  2. But God said to Abraham, "Do not be distressed because of the lad and your maid; whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, for through Isaac your descendants shall be named.
  3. "And of the son of the maid I will make a nation also, because he is your descendant."
  4. So Abraham rose early in the morning and took bread and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar, putting them on her shoulder, and gave her the boy, and sent her away. And she departed and wandered about in the wilderness of Beersheba.
  5. When the water in the skin was used up, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
  1. このことは， 自分の 子に 關することなので， アブラハム は， 非常に 惱んだ．
  2. すると， 神は アブラハム に 仰せられた． 「その 少年と， あなたのはしためのことで， 惱んではならない． サラ があなたに 言うことはみな， 言うとおりに 聞き 入れなさい． イサク から 出る 者が， あなたの 子孫と 呼ばれるからだ．
  3. しかしはしための 子も， わたしは 一つの 國民としよう． 彼もあなたの 子だから． 」
  4. 翌朝早く， アブラハム は， パン と 水の 皮袋を 取って ハガル に 與え， それを 彼女の 肩に 載せ， その 子とともに 彼女を 送り 出した． それで 彼女は ベエル · シェバ の 荒野をさまよい 步いた．
  5. 皮袋の 水が 盡きたとき， 彼女はその 子を 一本の 灌木の 下に 投げ 出し，
  1. Then she went and sat down opposite him, about a bowshot away, for she said, "Do not let me see the boy die." And she sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice and wept.
  2. God heard the lad crying; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, "What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.
  3. "Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him."
  4. Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the skin with water and gave the lad a drink.
  5. God was with the lad, and he grew; and he lived in the wilderness and became an archer.
  1. 自分は， 矢の 屆くほど 離れた 向こうに 行ってすわった． それは 彼女が「私は 子どもの 死ぬのを 見たくない． 」と 思ったからである． それで， 離れてすわったのである． そうして 彼女は 聲をあげて 泣いた．
  2. 神は 少年の 聲を 聞かれ， 神の 使いは 天から ハガル を 呼んで， 言った． 「ハガル よ． どうしたのか． 恐れてはいけない． 神があそこにいる 少年の 聲を 聞かれたからだ．
  3. 行ってあの 少年を 起こし， 彼を 力づけなさい． わたしはあの 子を 大いなる 國民とするからだ． 」
  4. 神が ハガル の 目を 開かれたので， 彼女は 井戶を 見つけた． それで 行って 皮袋に 水を 滿たし， 少年に 飮ませた．
  5. 神が 少年とともにおられたので， 彼は 成長し， 荒野に 住んで， 弓を 射る 者となった．
  1. He lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
  2. Now it came about at that time that Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, spoke to Abraham, saying, "God is with you in all that you do;
  3. now therefore, swear to me here by God that you will not deal falsely with me or with my offspring or with my posterity, but according to the kindness that I have shown to you, you shall show to me and to the land in which you have sojourned."
  4. Abraham said, "I swear it."
  5. But Abraham complained to Abimelech because of the well of water which the servants of Abimelech had seized.
  1. こうして 彼は パラン の 荒野に 住みついた． 彼の 母は エジプト の 國から 彼のために 妻を 迎えた．
  2. そのころ， アビメレク とその 將軍 ピコル とが アブラハム に 告げて 言った． 「あなたが 何をしても， 神はあなたとともにおられる．
  3. それで 今， ここで 神によって 私に 誓ってください． 私も， 私の 親類緣者たちをも 裏切らないと． そして 私があなたに 盡くした 眞實にふさわしく， あなたは 私にも， またあなたが 滯在しているこの 土地にも 眞實を 盡くしてください． 」
  4. すると アブラハム は， 「私は 誓います． 」と 言った．
  5. また， アブラハム は， アビメレク のしもべどもが 奪い 取った 井戶のことで アビメレク に 抗議した．
  1. And Abimelech said, "I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, nor did I hear of it until today."
  2. Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech, and the two of them made a covenant.
  3. Then Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
  4. Abimelech said to Abraham, "What do these seven ewe lambs mean, which you have set by themselves?"
  5. He said, "You shall take these seven ewe lambs from my hand so that it may be a witness to me, that I dug this well."
  1. アビメレク は 答えた． 「だれがそのようなことをしたのか 知りませんでした． それにあなたもまた， 私に 告げなかったし， 私もまたきょうまで 聞いたことがなかったのです． 」
  2. そこで アブラハム は 羊と 牛を 取って， アビメレク に 與え， ふたりは 契約を 結んだ．
  3. アブラハム は 羊の 群れから， 七頭の 雌の 子羊をより 分けた．
  4. すると アビメレク は， 「今あなたがより 分けたこの 七頭の 雌の 子羊は， いったいどういうわけですか． 」と アブラハム に 尋ねた．
  5. アブラハム は， 「私がこの 井戶を 掘ったという 證據となるために， 七頭の 雌の 子羊を 私の 手から 受け 取ってください． 」と 答えた．
  1. Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because there the two of them took an oath.
  2. So they made a covenant at Beersheba; and Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, arose and returned to the land of the Philistines.
  3. Abraham planted a tamarisk tree at Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.
  4. And Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines for many days.
  1. それゆえ， その 場所は ベエル · シェバ と 呼ばれた． その 所で 彼らふたりが 誓ったからである．
  2. 彼らが ベエル · シェバ で 契約を 結んでから， アビメレク とその 將軍 ピコル とは 立って， ペリシテ 人の 地に 歸った．
  3. アブラハム は ベエル · シェバ に 一本の 柳の 木を 植え， その 所で 永遠の 神， 主の 御名によって 祈った．
  4. アブラハム は 長い 間 ペリシテ 人の 地に 滯在した．
