	열왕기하 9:1-10:17 예후가 반역을 일으켜 요람과 아하시야를 죽이고 북왕국의 왕이 되었다. 그는 이세벨을 처단하고 아합 왕가를 진멸하므로써 아합 왕가에 대한 하나님의 심판을 행하였다.

	예후의 반역(9:1-9:37)

Now Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, "Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramoth-gilead.

"When you arrive there, search out Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and bid him arise from among his brothers, and bring him to an inner room.

"Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, 'Thus says the LORD, "I have anointed you king over Israel."' Then open the door and flee and do not wait."

So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.

When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting, and he said, "I have a word for you, O captain." And Jehu said, "For which one of us?" And he said, "For you, O captain."

預言者エリシャは預言者のともがらのひとりを呼んで言った．「腰に帶を引き締め，手にこの油のつぼを持って，ラモテ · ギルアデに行きなさい．

He arose and went into the house, and he poured the oil on his head and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

'You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

'For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male person both bond and free in Israel.

'I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

'The dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her.'" Then he opened the door and fled.

エフ ―は立って，家にはいった．そこで若い者は油をエフ ―の頭にそそいで言った．「イスラエルの神，主は，こう仰せられる．『わたしはあなたに油をそそいで，主の民イスラエルの王とする．

あなたは，主君アハブの家の者を打ち殺さなければならない．こうしてわたしは，わたしのしもべである預言者たちの血，イゼベルによって流された主のすべてのしもべたちの血の復讐をする．

それでアハブの家はことごとく滅びうせる．わたしは，アハブに屬する小わっぱから奴隷や自由の者に至るまでを，イスラエルで斷ち滅ぼし，

アハブの家をネバテの子ヤロブアムの家のようにし，アヒヤの子バシャの家のようにする．

犬がイズレエルの地所でイゼベルを食らい，だれも彼女を葬る者がいない．』」こう言って彼は戶をあけて逃げた．

Now Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?" And he said to them, "You know very well the man and his talk."

They said, "It is a lie, tell us now." And he said, "Thus and thus he said to me, 'Thus says the LORD, "I have anointed you king over Israel."'"

Then they hurried and each man took his garment and placed it under him on the bare steps, and blew the trumpet, saying, "Jehu is king!"

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram with all Israel was defending Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Aram,

but King Joram had returned to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him when he fought with Hazael king of Aram. So Jehu said, "If this is your mind, then let no one escape or leave the city to go tell it in Jezreel."

Then Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was lying there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company." And Joram said, "Take a horseman and send him to meet them and let him say, 'Is it peace?'"

So a horseman went to meet him and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu said, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me." And the watchman reported, "The messenger came to them, but he did not return."

Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu answered, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me."

The watchman reported, "He came even to them, and he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously."

それから，エフ ―は車に乘って，イズレエルへ行った．ヨラムがそこで床についており，ユダの王アハズヤもヨラムを見舞いに下っていたからである．

そこで，騎兵は彼を迎えに行って言った．「王が，お元氣ですかと尋ねておられます．」エフ ―は言った．「元氣かどうか，あなたの知ったことではない．私のうしろについて來い．」一方，見張りは報告して言った．「使者は彼らのところに着きましたが，歸って來ません．」

そこでヨラムは，もうひとりの騎兵を送った．彼は彼らのところに行って言った．「王が，お元氣ですかと尋ねておられます．」すると，エフ ―は言った．「元氣かどうか，あなたの知ったことではない．私のうしろについて來い．」

見張りはまた，報告して言った．「あれは彼らのところに着きましたが，歸って來ません．しかし，車の御し方は，ニムシの子エフ ―の御し方に似ています．氣が狂ったように御しています．」

Then Joram said, "Get ready." And they made his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu and found him in the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.

When Joram saw Jehu, he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?" And he answered, "What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?"

So Joram reined about and fled and said to Ahaziah, "There is treachery, O Ahaziah!"

And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength and shot Joram between his arms; and the arrow went through his heart and he sank in his chariot.

Then Jehu said to Bidkar his officer, "Take him up and cast him into the property of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite, for I remember when you and I were riding together after Ahab his father, that the LORD laid this oracle against him:

ヨラムは，「馬をつけよ．」と命じた．馬を戰車につけると，イスラエルの王ヨラムとユダの王アハズヤは，おのおの自分の戰車に乘って出て行き，エフ ―を迎えに出て行った．彼らはイズレエル人ナボテの所有地で彼に出會った．

ヨラムはエフ ―を見ると，「エフ ―．元氣か．」と尋ねた．エフ ―は答えた．「何が元氣か．あなたの母イゼベルの姦淫と呪術とが盛んに行なわれているかぎり．」

エフ ―は侍從のビデカルに命じた．「これを運んで行き，イズレエル人ナボテの所有地であった畑に投げ捨てよ．私とあなたが馬に乘って彼の父アハブのあとに ¿んで從って行ったとき，主が彼にこの宣告を下されたことを思い出すがよい．

'Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons,' says the LORD, 'and I will repay you in this property,' says the LORD. Now then, take and cast him into the property, according to the word of the LORD."

When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house And Jehu pursued him and said, "Shoot him too, in the chariot " So they shot him at the ascent of Gur, which is at Ibleam. But he fled to Megiddo and died there.

Then his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his grave with his fathers in the city of David.

Now in the eleventh year of Joram, the son of Ahab, Ahaziah became king over Judah.

When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out the window.

『わたしは，きのう，ナボテの血とその子らの血とを確かに見屆けた． ··主の御告げだ ··わたしは，この地所であなたに報復する． ··主の御告げだ ··』それで今，彼を運んで行って，主のことばのとおり，あの地所に彼を投げ捨てよ．」

As Jehu entered the gate, she said, "Is it well, Zimri, your master's murderer?"

Then he lifted up his face to the window and said, "Who is on my side? Who?" And two or three officials looked down at him.

He said, "Throw her down." So they threw her down, and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses, and he trampled her under foot.

When he came in, he ate and drank; and he said, "See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter."

They went to bury her, but they found nothing more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.

エフ ―が門にはいって來たので，彼女は，「元氣かね．主君殺しのジムリ．」と言った．

彼は窓を見上げて，「だれか私にくみする者はいないか．だれかいないか．」と言った．二，三人の宦官が彼を見おろしていたので，

Therefore they returned and told him. And he said, "This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'In the property of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;

and the corpse of Jezebel will be as dung on the face of the field in the property of Jezreel, so they cannot say, "This is Jezebel."'"

歸って來て，エフ ―にこのことを知らせた．すると，エフ ―は言った．「これは，主がそのしもべティシュベ人エリヤによって語られたことばのとおりだ．『イズレエルの地所で犬どもがイゼベルの肉を食らい，

イゼベルの死體は，イズレエルの地所で畑の上にまかれた肥やしのようになり，だれも，これがイゼベルだと言えなくなる．』」

Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, the elders, and to the guardians of the children of Ahab, saying,

"Now, when this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses and a fortified city and the weapons,

select the best and fittest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house."

But they feared greatly and said, "Behold, the two kings did not stand before him; how then can we stand?"

And the one who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, all that you say to us we will do, we will not make any man king; do what is good in your sight."

アハブにはサマリヤに七十人の子どもがあった．エフ ―は手紙を書いてサマリヤに送り，サマリヤのつかさたちや長老たち，および，アハブの子の養育係たちにこう傳えた．

「この手紙が屆いたら，あなたがたのところに，あなたがたの主君の子どもたちがおり，戰車も馬も城壁のある町も武器もあなたがたのところにあるのだから，すぐ，

Then he wrote a letter to them a second time saying, "If you are on my side, and you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time." Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.

When the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and slaughtered them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.

When the messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons," he said, "Put them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."

Now in the morning he went out and stood and said to all the people, "You are innocent; behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?

"Know then that there shall fall to the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spoke concerning the house of Ahab, for the LORD has done what He spoke through His servant Elijah."

そこで，エフ ―は再び彼らに手紙を書いてこう言った．「もしあなたがたが私に味方し，私の命令に從うのなら，あなたがたの主君の子どもたちの首を取り，あすの今ごろ，イズレエルの私のもとに持って來い．」そのころ，王の子どもたち七十人は，彼らを養育していた町のおもだった人たちのもとにいた．

その手紙が彼らに屆くと，彼らは王の子どもたちを捕え，その七十人を切り殺し，その首を幾つかのかごに入れ，それをイズレエルのエフ ―のもとに送り屆けた．

だから知れ．主がアハブの家について告げられた主のことばは一つも地に落ちないことを．主は，そのしもべエリヤによってお告げになったことをなされたのだ．」

So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men and his acquaintances and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.

Then he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds,

Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and said, "Who are you?" And they answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."

He said, "Take them alive." So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.

Now when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, "Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?" And Jehonadab answered, "It is " Jehu said, "If it is, give me your hand." And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.

そして，エフ ―は，アハブの家に屬する者でイズレエルに殘っていた者全部，身分の高い者，親しい者，その祭司たちを，みな打ち殺し，ひとりも生き殘る者がないまでにした．

それから，エフ ―は立ってサマリヤへ行った．彼は途中，羊飼いのベテ · エケデという所にいた．

その間に，エフ ―はユダの王アハズヤの身內の者たちに出會った．彼が「あなたがたはだれか．」と聞くと，彼らは，「私たちはアハズヤの身內の者です．王の子どもたちと，王母の子どもたちの安否を氣づかって下って來たのです．」と答えた．

エフ ―は「彼らを生けどりにせよ．」と言った．それで人¿は彼らを生けどりにした．そして，ベテ · エケデの水ためのところで，彼ら四十二人を殺し，ひとりも殘さなかった．

彼がそこを去って行くと，彼を迎えに來たレカブの子ヨナダブに出會った．エフ ―は彼にあいさつして言った．「私の心があなたの心に結ばれているように，あなたの心もそうですか．」ヨナダブは，「そうです．」と答えた．「それなら，こちらに手をよこしなさい．」ヨナダブが手を差し出すと，エフ ―は彼を戰車の上に引き上げて，

He said, "Come with me and see my zeal for the LORD." So he made him ride in his chariot.

When he came to Samaria, he killed all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke to Elijah.

「私といっしょに來て，私の主に對する熱心さを見なさい．」と言った．ふたりは，彼の戰車に乘って，

サマリヤに行った．エフ ―はアハブに屬する者で，サマリヤに殘っていた者を皆殺しにし，その一族を根絶やしにした．主がエリヤにお告げになったことばのとおりであった．
