창세기 16:1-17:27

 자식을 낳지 못하던 아브람의 아내 사래는 몸종 하갈을 통해 이스마엘을 낳게 했다. 아브람의 나이 99세 때, 하나님께서 아브람과 사래의 이름을 아브라함과 사라로 바꿀 것을 명하시고 언약의 후손 이삭이 태어날 것을 말씀하셨다. 그리고 집안의 모든 남자들에게 언약의 표인 할례를 시행하게 하셨다.
  
  이스마엘의 출생(16:1-16:16)    
 
  1. Now Sarai, Abram's wife had borne him no children, and she had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar.
  2. So Sarai said to Abram, "Now behold, the LORD has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her." And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.
  3. After Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram's wife Sarai took Hagar the Egyptian, her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife.
  4. He went in to Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her sight.
  5. And Sarai said to Abram, "May the wrong done me be upon you I gave my maid into your arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her sight May the LORD judge between you and me."
  1. アブラム の 妻 サライ は 子を 産まなかった． 彼女にひとりのつかえめがあった． エジプト の 女で 名を ハガル といった．
  2. サライ は アブラム に 言った， 「主はわたしに 子をお 授けになりません． どうぞ， わたしのつかえめの 所におはいりください． 彼女によってわたしは 子をもつことになるでしょう 」． アブラム は サライ の 言葉を 聞きいれた．

  4. 彼は ハガル の 所にはいり， ハガル は 子をはらんだ． 彼女は 自分のはらんだのを 見て， 女主人を 見下げるようになった．

  1. But Abram said to Sarai, "Behold, your maid is in your power; do to her what is good in your sight." So Sarai treated her harshly, and she fled from her presence.
  2. Now the angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur.
  3. He said, "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where have you come from and where are you going?" And she said, "I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai."
  4. Then the angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority."
  5. Moreover, the angel of the LORD said to her, "I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count."
  1. アブラム は サライ に 言った， 「あなたのつかえめはあなたの 手のうちにある． あなたの 好きなように 彼女にしなさい 」． そして サライ が 彼女を 苦しめたので， 彼女は サライ の 顔を 避けて 逃げた．

  1. The angel of the LORD said to her further, "Behold, you are with child, And you will bear a son; And you shall call his name Ishmael, Because the LORD has given heed to your affliction.
  2. "He will be a wild donkey of a man, His hand will be against everyone, And everyone's hand will be against him; And he will live to the east of all his brothers."
  3. Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees"; for she said, "Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?"
  4. Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.
  5. So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.
  1. 主の 使はまた 彼女に 言った， 「あなたは， みごもっています． あなたは 男の 子を 産むでしょう． 名を イシマエル と 名づけなさい． 主があなたの 苦しみを 聞かれたのです．

  언약의 표인 할례(17:1-17:27)    
 
  1. Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.
  2. "I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly."
  3. Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
  4. "As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you will be the father of a multitude of nations.
  5. "No longer shall your name be called Abram, But your name shall be Abraham; For I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
  1. アブラム の 九十九歲の 時， 主は アブラム に 現れて 言われた， ／「わたしは 全能の 神である． あなたはわたしの 前に 步み， 全き 者であれ．
  2. わたしはあなたと 契約を 結び， ／大いにあなたの 子孫を 增すであろう 」．
  3. アブラム は， ひれ 伏した． 神はまた 彼に 言われた，
  4. 「わたしはあなたと 契約を 結ぶ． あなたは 多くの 國民の 父となるであろう．
  5. あなたの 名は， もはや アブラム とは 言われず， ／あなたの 名は アブラハム と 呼ばれるであろう． わたしはあなたを 多くの 國民の ／父とするからである．
  1. "I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you.
  2. "I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you.
  3. "I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."
  4. God said further to Abraham, "Now as for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.
  5. "This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised.
  1. わたしはあなたに 多くの 子孫を 得させ， 國¿の 民をあなたから 起そう． また， 王たちもあなたから 出るであろう．
  2. わたしはあなた 及び 後の 代¿の 子孫と 契約を 立てて， 永遠の 契約とし， あなたと 後の 子孫との 神となるであろう．
  3. わたしはあなたと 後の 子孫とにあなたの 宿っているこの 地， すなわち カナン の 全地を 永久の 所有として 與える． そしてわたしは 彼らの 神となるであろう 」．
  4. 神はまた アブラハム に 言われた， 「あなたと 後の 子孫とは 共に 代¿わたしの 契約を 守らなければならない． あなたがたのうち
  5. 男子はみな 割禮をうけなければならない． これはわたしとあなたがた 及び 後の 子孫との 間のわたしの 契約であって， あなたがたの 守るべきものである．
  1. "And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you.
  2. "And every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations, a servant who is born in the house or who is bought with money from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants.
  3. "A servant who is born in your house or who is bought with your money shall surely be circumcised; thus shall My covenant be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
  4. "But an uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."
  5. Then God said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.
  1. あなたがたは 前の 皮に 割禮を 受けなければならない． それがわたしとあなたがたとの 間の 契約のしるしとなるであろう．
  2. あなたがたのうちの 男子はみな 代¿， 家に 生れた 者も， また 異邦人から 銀で 買い 取った， あなたの 子孫でない 者も， 生れて 八日目に 割禮を 受けなければならない．
  3. あなたの 家に 生れた 者も， あなたが 銀で 買い 取った 者も 必ず 割禮を 受けなければならない． こうしてわたしの 契約はあなたがたの 身にあって 永遠の 契約となるであろう．
  4. 割禮を 受けない 男子， すなわち 前の 皮を 切らない 者はわたしの 契約を 破るゆえ， その 人は 民のうちから 斷たれるであろう 」．
  5. 神はまた アブラハム に 言われた， 「あなたの 妻 サライ は， もはや 名を サライ といわず， 名を サラ と 言いなさい．
  1. "I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."
  2. Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, "Will a child be born to a man one hundred years old? And will Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"
  3. And Abraham said to God, "Oh that Ishmael might live before You!"
  4. But God said, "No, but Sarah your wife will bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
  5. "As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I will bless him, and will make him fruitful and will multiply him exceedingly He shall become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.
  1. わたしは 彼女を 祝福し， また 彼女によって， あなたにひとりの 男の 子を 授けよう． わたしは 彼女を 祝福し， 彼女を 國¿の 民の 母としよう． 彼女から， もろもろの 民の 王たちが 出るであろう 」．

  1. "But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this season next year."
  2. When He finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.
  3. Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all the servants who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said to him.
  4. Now Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
  5. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
  1. しかしわたしは 來年の 今ごろ サラ があなたに 産む イサク と， わたしの 契約を 立てるであろう 」．
  2. 神は アブラハム と 語り 終え， 彼を 離れて， のぼられた．
  3. アブラハム は 神が 自分に 言われたように， この 日その 子 イシマエル と， すべて 家に 生れた 者およびすべて 銀で 買い 取った 者， すなわち アブラハム の 家の 人¿のうち， すべての 男子を 連れてきて， 前の 皮に 割禮を 施した．
  4. アブラハム が 前の 皮に 割禮を 受けた 時は 九十九歲，
  5. その 子 イシマエル が 前の 皮に 割禮を 受けた 時は 十三歲であった．
  1. In the very same day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
  2. All the men of his household, who were born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
  1. この 日 アブラハム とその 子 イシマエル は 割禮を 受けた．
  2. またその 家の 人¿は 家に 生れた 者も， 銀で 異邦人から 買い 取った 者も 皆， 彼と 共に 割禮を 受けた．
