- As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector's booth; and He said to him, "Follow Me!" And he got up and followed Him.
- Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were dining with Jesus and His disciples.
- When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?"
- But when Jesus heard this, He said, "It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
- "But go and learn what this means: 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

- さて イエス はそこから 進んで 行かれ， マタイ という 人が 收稅所にすわっているのを 見て， 「わたしに 從ってきなさい 」と 言われた． すると 彼は 立ちあがって， イエス に 從った．
- それから， イエス が 家で 食事の 席についておられた 時のことである． 多くの 取稅人や 罪人たちがきて， イエス や 弟子たちと 共にその 席に 着いていた．
- パリサイ 人たちはこれを 見て， 弟子たちに 言った， 「なぜ， あなたがたの 先生は， 取稅人や 罪人などと 食事を 共にするのか 」．
- イエス はこれを 聞いて 言われた， 「丈夫な 人には 醫者はいらない． いるのは 病人である．
- 『わたしが 好むのは， あわれみであって， いけにえではない 』とはどういう 意味か， 學んできなさい． わたしがきたのは， 義人を 招くためではなく， 罪人を 招くためである 」．

- Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?"
- And Jesus said to them, "The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they? But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast.
- "But no one puts a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and a worse tear results.
- "Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wineskins burst, and the wine pours out and the wineskins are ruined; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."
- While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, "My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live."

- そのとき， ヨハネ の 弟子たちが イエス のところにきて 言った， 「わたしたちと パリサイ 人たちとが 斷食をしているのに， あなたの 弟子たちは， なぜ 斷食をしないのですか 」．
- すると イエス は 言われた， 「婚禮の 客は， 花¿が 一緖にいる 間は， 悲しんでおられようか． しかし， 花¿が 奪い 去られる 日が 來る． その 時には 斷食をするであろう．
- だれも， 眞新しい 布ぎれで， 古い 着物につぎを 當てはしない． そのつぎきれは 着物を 引き 破り， そして， 破れがもっとひどくなるから．
- だれも， 新しいぶどう 酒を 古い 皮袋に 入れはしない． もしそんなことをしたら， その 皮袋は 張り 裂け， 酒は 流れ 出るし， 皮袋もむだになる． だから， 新しいぶどう 酒は 新しい 皮袋に 入れるべきである． そうすれば 兩方とも 長もちがするであろう 」．
- これらのことを 彼らに 話しておられると， そこにひとりの 會堂司がきて， イエス を 拜して 言った， 「わたしの 娘がただ 今死にました． しかしおいでになって 手をその 上においてやって 下さい． そうしたら， 娘は 生き 返るでしょう 」．

- Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.
- And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak;
- for she was saying to herself, "If I only touch His garment, I will get well."
- But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well.
- When Jesus came into the official's house, and saw the flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder,

- そこで， イエス が 立って 彼について 行かれると， 弟子たちも 一緖に 行った．
- するとそのとき， 十二年間も 長血をわずらっている 女が 近寄ってきて， イエス のうしろからみ 衣のふさにさわった．
- み 衣にさわりさえすれば， なおしていただけるだろう， と 心の 中で 思っていたからである．
- イエス は 振り 向いて， この 女を 見て 言われた， 「娘よ， しっかりしなさい． あなたの 信仰があなたを 救ったのです 」． するとこの 女はその 時に， いやされた．
- それから イエス は 司の 家に 着き， 笛吹きどもや ¿いでいる 群衆を 見て 言われた．

- He said, "Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep." And they began laughing at Him.
- But when the crowd had been sent out, He entered and took her by the hand, and the girl got up.
- This news spread throughout all that land.

- 「あちらへ 行っていなさい． 少女は 死んだのではない． 眠っているだけである 」． すると 人¿は イエス をあざ 笑った．
- しかし， 群衆を 外へ 出したのち， イエス は 內へはいって， 少女の 手をお 取りになると， 少女は 起きあがった．
- そして， そのうわさがこの 地方全體にひろまった．
