- This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. Selah.
- As sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright shall rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for Sheol to consume So that they have no habitation.
- But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, For He will receive me. Selah.
- Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich, When the glory of his house is increased;
- For when he dies he will carry nothing away; His glory will not descend after him.

- これぞ 自分をたのむ 愚かな 者どもの 成りゆき， 自分の 分け 前を 喜ぶ 者どもの 果である． 〔セラ
- 彼らは 陰府に 定められた 羊のように ／死が 彼らを 牧するであろう． 彼らはまっすぐに 墓に 下り， そのかたちは 消えうせ， 陰府が 彼らのすまいとなるであろう．
- しかし 神はわたしを 受けられるゆえ， わたしの 魂を 陰府の 力からあがなわれる． 〔セラ
- 人が 富を 得るときも， その 家の 榮えが 增し 加わるときも， 恐れてはならない．
- 彼が 死ぬときは 何ひとつ 携え 行くことができず， その 榮えも 彼に 從って 下って 行くことは ／ないからである．
