사무엘상

  본서는 지파 중심의 사사 체제에서 중앙 집권적 왕정 체제로의 변천 과정과 이스라엘을 통치하시는 하나님의 섭리, 즉 하나님께서는 인간의 삶뿐만 아니라 모든 민족의 삶을 주관하시는 것을 보여 주고 있다. 사무엘은 이스라엘의 초대 왕 사울과 그 뒤를 이은 다윗에게 기름을 부어 왕으로 삼음으로써 이스라엘의 왕정을 세우는 데 결정적인 역할을 했다.

  본서는 사무엘(1-7장), 사울(8-15장), 다윗(16-31장)을 중심으로 하여 전개된다. 타락한 제사장들과 사사들 때문에 백성들이 왕을 세워 줄 것을 요구하자, 하나님께서는 사울을 왕으로 세우신다. 그러나 그가 불순종하자 그를 버리고 다윗에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼으신다.

 

 

사무엘상 1:1-2:36

 자식이 없어 고통을 당하던 한나는 하나님께 기도하고 통곡하며 서원하여 그토록 소원하던 아들 사무엘을 낳아 하나님께 드렸다. 이에 한나는 자신의 기도에 응답하신 하나님의 절대 주권과 능력을 찬양했다. 당시의 제사장 겸 사사인 엘리의 아들들이 하나님께 범죄함으로 인해 그 집안에 대한 하나님의 심판이 선고되었다.
  
  사무엘의 출생(1:1-1:28)    
 
  1. Now there was a certain man from Ramathaim-zophim from the hill country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
  2. He had two wives: the name of one was Hannah and the name of the other Peninnah; and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
  3. Now this man would go up from his city yearly to worship and to sacrifice to the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were priests to the LORD there.
  4. When the day came that Elkanah sacrificed, he would give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and her daughters;
  5. but to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, but the LORD had closed her womb.

  5. エルカナ は ハンナ を 愛していたが， 彼女には， ただ 一つの 分け 前を 與えるだけであった． 主がその 胎を 閉ざされたからである．
  1. Her rival, however, would provoke her bitterly to irritate her, because the LORD had closed her womb.
  2. It happened year after year, as often as she went up to the house of the LORD, she would provoke her; so she wept and would not eat.
  3. Then Elkanah her husband said to her, "Hannah, why do you weep and why do you not eat and why is your heart sad? Am I not better to you than ten sons?"
  4. Then Hannah rose after eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the temple of the LORD.
  5. She, greatly distressed, prayed to the LORD and wept bitterly.
  1. また 彼女を 憎んでいる 他の 妻は， ひどく 彼女を 惱まして， 主がその 胎を 閉ざされたことを 恨ませようとした．
  2. こうして 年は 暮れ， 年は 明けたが， ハンナ が 主の 宮に 上るごとに， ペニンナ は 彼女を 惱ましたので， ハンナ は 泣いて 食べることもしなかった．

  1. She made a vow and said, "O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a son, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head."
  2. Now it came about, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli was watching her mouth.
  3. As for Hannah, she was speaking in her heart, only her lips were moving, but her voice was not heard. So Eli thought she was drunk.
  4. Then Eli said to her, "How long will you make yourself drunk? Put away your wine from you."
  5. But Hannah replied, "No, my lord, I am a woman oppressed in spirit; I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I have poured out my soul before the LORD.
  1. そして 誓いを 立てて 言った， 「万軍の 主よ， まことに， はしための 惱みをかえりみ， わたしを 覺え， はしためを 忘れずに， はしために 男の 子を 賜わりますなら， わたしはその 子を 一生のあいだ 主にささげ， かみそりをその 頭にあてません 」．

  5. しかし ハンナ は 答えた， 「いいえ， わが 主よ． わたしは 不幸な 女です． ぶどう 酒も 濃い 酒も 飮んだのではありません． ただ 主の 前に 心を 注ぎ 出していたのです．
  1. "Do not consider your maidservant as a worthless woman, for I have spoken until now out of my great concern and provocation."
  2. Then Eli answered and said, "Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of Him."
  3. She said, "Let your maidservant find favor in your sight " So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
  4. Then they arose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned again to their house in Ramah And Elkanah had relations with Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her.
  5. It came about in due time, after Hannah had conceived, that she gave birth to a son; and she named him Samuel, saying, "Because I have asked him of the LORD."
  1. はしためを， 惡い 女と 思わないでください． 積る 憂いと 惱みのゆえに， わたしは 今まで 物を 言っていたのです 」．
  2. そこで エリ は 答えた， 「安心して 行きなさい． どうか イスラエル の 神があなたの 求める 願いを 聞きとどけられるように 」．
  3. 彼女は 言った， 「どうぞ， はしためにも， あなたの 前に 惠みを 得させてください 」． こうして， その 女は 去って 食事し， その 顔は， もはや 悲しげではなくなった．

  1. Then the man Elkanah went up with all his household to offer to the LORD the yearly sacrifice and pay his vow.
  2. But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, "I will not go up until the child is weaned; then I will bring him, that he may appear before the LORD and stay there forever."
  3. Elkanah her husband said to her, "Do what seems best to you Remain until you have weaned him; only may the LORD confirm His word." So the woman remained and nursed her son until she weaned him.
  4. Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with a three-year-old bull and one ephah of flour and a jug of wine, and brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh, although the child was young.
  5. Then they slaughtered the bull, and brought the boy to Eli.
  1. エルカナ その 人とその 家族とはみな 上っていって， 年ごとの ¿牲と， 誓いの 供え 物とをささげた．
  2. しかし ハンナ は 上って 行かず， 夫に 言った， 「わたしはこの 子が 乳離れしてから， 主の 前に 連れていって， いつまでも， そこにおらせましょう 」．
  3. 夫 エルカナ は 彼女に 言った， 「あなたが 良いと 思うようにして， この 子の 乳離れするまで 待ちなさい． ただどうか 主がその 言われたことを 實現してくださるように 」． こうしてその 女はとどまって， その 子に 乳をのませ， 乳離れするのを 待っていたが，
  4. 乳離れした 時， 三歲の 雄牛一頭， 麥粉一 エパ ， ぶどう 酒のはいった 皮袋一つを 取り， その 子を 連れて， シロ にある 主の 宮に 行った． その 子はなお 幼かった．
  5. そして 彼らはその 牛を 殺し， 子供を エリ のもとへ 連れて 行った．
  1. She said, "Oh, my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you, praying to the LORD.
  2. "For this boy I prayed, and the LORD has given me my petition which I asked of Him.
  3. "So I have also dedicated him to the LORD; as long as he lives he is dedicated to the LORD " And he worshiped the LORD there.
  1. ハンナ は 言った， 「わが 君よ， あなたは 生きておられます． わたしは， かつてここに 立って， あなたの 前で， 主に 祈った 女です．
  2. この 子を 與えてくださいと， わたしは 祈りましたが， 主はわたしの 求めた 願いを 聞きとどけられました．
  3. それゆえ， わたしもこの 子を 主にささげます． この 子は 一生のあいだ 主にささげたものです 」． そして 彼らはそこで 主を 禮拜した．
 
  한나의 기도(2:1-2:11)    
 
  1. Then Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD, My mouth speaks boldly against my enemies, Because I rejoice in Your salvation.
  2. "There is no one holy like the LORD, Indeed, there is no one besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.
  3. "Boast no more so very proudly, Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And with Him actions are weighed.
  4. "The bows of the mighty are shattered, But the feeble gird on strength.
  5. "Those who were full hire themselves out for bread, But those who were hungry cease to hunger. Even the barren gives birth to seven, But she who has many children languishes.
  1. ハンナ は 祈って 言った， ／「わたしの 心は 主によって 喜び， ／わたしの 力は 主によって 强められた， ／わたしの 口は 敵をあざ 笑う， ／あなたの 救によってわたしは 樂しむからである．
  2. 主のように 聖なるものはない， ／あなたのほかには， だれもない， ／われわれの 神のような 岩はない．
  3. あなたがたは 重ねて 高慢に 語ってはならない， ／たかぶりの 言葉を 口にすることをやめよ． 主はすべてを 知る 神であって， ／もろもろのおこないは 主によって 量られる．
  4. 勇士の 弓は 折れ， ／弱き 者は 力を 帶びる．
  5. 飽き 足りた 者は 食のために 雇われ， ／飢えたものは， もはや 飢えることがない． うまずめは 七人の 子を 産み， ／多くの 子をもつ 女は 孤獨となる．
  1. "The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to Sheol and raises up.
  2. "The LORD makes poor and rich; He brings low, He also exalts.
  3. "He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He set the world on them.
  4. "He keeps the feet of His godly ones, But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; For not by might shall a man prevail.
  5. "Those who contend with the LORD will be shattered; Against them He will thunder in the heavens, The LORD will judge the ends of the earth; And He will give strength to His king, And will exalt the horn of His anointed."
  1. 主は 殺し， また 生かし， ／陰府にくだし， また 上げられる．
  2. 主は 貧しくし， また 富ませ， ／低くし， また 高くされる．
  3. 貧しい 者を， ちりのなかから 立ちあがらせ， ／乏しい 者を， あくたのなかから 引き 上げて， ／王侯と 共にすわらせ， ／榮譽の 位を 繼がせられる． 地の 柱は 主のものであって， ／その 柱の 上に， 世界をすえられたからである．
  4. 主はその 聖徒たちの 足を 守られる， ／しかし 惡いものどもは 暗黑のうちに 滅びる． 人は 力をもって 勝つことができないからである．
  5. 主と 爭うものは 粉¿に ¿かれるであろう， ／主は 彼らにむかって 天から 雷をとどろかし， ／地のはてまでもさばき， ／王に 力を 與え， ／油そそがれた 者の 力を 强くされるであろう 」．
  1. Then Elkanah went to his home at Ramah But the boy ministered to the LORD before Eli the priest.
  1. エルカナ は ラマ にある 家に 歸ったが， 幼な 子は 祭司 エリ の 前にいて 主に 仕えた．

  1. Now the sons of Eli were worthless men; they did not know the LORD
  2. and the custom of the priests with the people. When any man was offering a sacrifice, the priest's servant would come while the meat was boiling, with a three-pronged fork in his hand.
  3. Then he would thrust it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fork brought up the priest would take for himself. Thus they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there.
  4. Also, before they burned the fat, the priest's servant would come and say to the man who was sacrificing, "Give the priest meat for roasting, as he will not take boiled meat from you, only raw."
  5. If the man said to him, "They must surely burn the fat first, and then take as much as you desire," then he would say, "No, but you shall give it to me now; and if not, I will take it by force."
  1. さて， エリ の 子らは， よこしまな 人¿で， 主を 恐れなかった．
  2. 民のささげ 物についての 祭司のならわしはこうである． 人が ¿牲をささげる 時， その 肉を 煮る 間に， 祭司のしもべは， みつまたの 肉刺しを 手に 持ってきて，
  3. それをかま， またはなべ， またはおおがま， または 鉢に 突きいれ， 肉刺しの 引き 上げるものは 祭司がみな 自分のものとした． 彼らは シロ で， そこに 來るすべての イスラエル の 人に， このようにした．

  5. その 人が， 「まず 脂肪を 燒かせましょう． その 後ほしいだけ 取ってください 」と 言うと， しもべは， 「いや， 今もらいたい． くれないなら， わたしは 力づくで， それを 取ろう 」と 言う．
  1. Thus the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD, for the men despised the offering of the LORD.
  2. Now Samuel was ministering before the LORD, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.
  3. And his mother would make him a little robe and bring it to him from year to year when she would come up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
  4. Then Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife and say, "May the LORD give you children from this woman in place of the one she dedicated to the LORD." And they went to their own home.
  5. The LORD visited Hannah; and she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters And the boy Samuel grew before the LORD.
  1. このように， その 若者たちの 罪は， 主の 前に 非常に 大きかった． この 人¿が 主の 供え 物を 輕んじたからである．

  1. Now Eli was very old; and he heard all that his sons were doing to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who served at the doorway of the tent of meeting.
  2. He said to them, "Why do you do such things, the evil things that I hear from all these people?
  3. "No, my sons; for the report is not good which I hear the LORD'S people circulating.
  4. "If one man sins against another, God will mediate for him; but if a man sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him?" But they would not listen to the voice of their father, for the LORD desired to put them to death.
  5. Now the boy Samuel was growing in stature and in favor both with the LORD and with men.
  1. エリ はひじょうに 年をとった． そしてその 子らが イスラエル の 人¿にしたいろいろのことを 聞き， また 會見の 幕屋の 入口で 勤めていた 女たちと 寢たことを 聞いて，
  2. 彼らに 言った， 「なにゆえ， そのようなことをするのか． わたしはこのすべての 民から， あなたがたの 惡いおこないのことを 聞く．
  3. わが 子らよ， それはいけない． わたしの 聞く， 主の 民の 言いふらしている 風說は 良くない．
  4. もし 人が 人に 對して 罪を 犯すならば， 神が 仲裁されるであろう． しかし 人が 主に 對して 罪を 犯すならば， だれが， そのとりなしをすることができようか 」． しかし 彼らは 父の 言うことに 耳を 傾けようともしなかった． 主が 彼らを 殺そうとされたからである．
  5. わらべ サムエル は 育っていき， 主にも， 人¿にも， ますます 愛せられた．
  1. Then a man of God came to Eli and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Did I not indeed reveal Myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh's house?
  2. 'Did I not choose them from all the tribes of Israel to be My priests, to go up to My altar, to burn incense, to carry an ephod before Me; and did I not give to the house of your father all the fire offerings of the sons of Israel?
  3. 'Why do you kick at My sacrifice and at My offering which I have commanded in My dwelling, and honor your sons above Me, by making yourselves fat with the choicest of every offering of My people Israel?'
  4. "Therefore the LORD God of Israel declares, 'I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father should walk before Me forever'; but now the LORD declares, 'Far be it from Me--for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be lightly esteemed.
  5. 'Behold, the days are coming when I will break your strength and the strength of your father's house so that there will not be an old man in your house.
  1. このとき， ひとりの 神の 人が， エリ のもとにきて 言った， 「主はかく 仰せられる， 『あなたの 先祖の 家が エジプト で パロ の 家の 奴隷であったとき， わたしはその 先祖の 家に 自らを 現した．
  2. そして イスラエル のすべての 部族のうちからそれを 選び 出して， わたしの 祭司とし， わたしの 祭壇に 上って， 香をたかせ， わたしの 前で エポデ を 着けさせ， また， イスラエル の 人¿の 火祭をことごとくあなたの 先祖の 家に 與えた．
  3. それにどうしてあなたがたは， わたしが 命じた ¿牲と 供え 物をむさぼりの 目をもって 見るのか． またなにゆえ， わたしよりも 自分の 子らを 尊び， わたしの 民 イスラエル のささげるもろもろの 供え 物の， 最も 良き 部分をもって 自分を 肥やすのか 』．
  4. それゆえ イスラエル の 神， 主は 仰せられる， 『わたしはかつて， 「あなたの 家とあなたの 父の 家とは， 永久にわたしの 前に 步むであろう 」と 言った 』． しかし 今， 主は 仰せられる， 『決してそうはしない． わたしを 尊ぶ 者を， わたしは 尊び， わたしを 卑しめる 者は， 輕んぜられるであろう．
  5. 見よ， 日が 來るであろう． その 日， わたしはあなたの 力と， あなたの 父の 家の 力を 斷ち， あなたの 家に 年老いた 者をなくするであろう．
  1. 'You will see the distress of My dwelling, in spite of all the good that I do for Israel; and an old man will not be in your house forever.
  2. 'Yet I will not cut off every man of yours from My altar so that your eyes will fail from weeping and your soul grieve, and all the increase of your house will die in the prime of life.
  3. 'This will be the sign to you which will come concerning your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas: on the same day both of them will die.
  4. 'But I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul; and I will build him an enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed always.
  5. 'Everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver or a loaf of bread and say, "Please assign me to one of the priest's offices so that I may eat a piece of bread."'"
  1. そのとき， あなたは 災のうちにあって， イスラエル に 與えられるもろもろの 繁榮を， ねたみ 見るであろう． あなたの 家には 永久に 年老いた 者がいなくなるであろう．
  2. しかしあなたの 一族のひとりを， わたしの 祭壇から 斷たないであろう． 彼は 殘されてその 目を 泣きはらし， 心を 痛めるであろう． またあなたの 家に 生れ 出るものは， みなつるぎに 死ぬであろう．
  3. あなたのふたりの 子 ホフニ と ピネハス の 身に 起ることが， あなたのためにそのしるしとなるであろう． すなわちそのふたりは 共に 同じ 日に 死ぬであろう．
  4. わたしは 自分のために， ひとりの 忠實な 祭司を 起す． その 人はわたしの 心と 思いとに 從って 行うであろう． わたしはその 家を 確立しよう． その 人はわたしが 油そそいだ 者の 前につねに 步むであろう．
  5. そしてあなたの 家で 生き 殘っている 人¿はみなきて， 彼に 一枚の 銀と 一個の パン を 請い 求め， 「どうぞ， わたしを 祭司の 職の 一つに 任じ， 一口の パン でも 食べることができるようにしてください 」と 言うであろう 』」．
