사무엘하 20:1-21:22

 다윗의 환궁 문제를 둘러싼 유다와 이스라엘간의 분쟁으로 세바의 반란이 일어났고, 이를 이용해 요압은 자신의 정적인 아마사를 살해하였다. 사울의 기브온 양민 학살 사건에 대한 심판으로 3년 간 기근이 있자, 다윗은 기브온 사람들의 원한을 갚아 속죄하도록 하였다. 블레셋과의 전쟁에서 다윗의 용사들은 승리를 거두었다.
  
  세바의 반란(20:1-20:26)    
 
  1. Now a worthless fellow happened to be there whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite; and he blew the trumpet and said, "We have no portion in David, Nor do we have inheritance in the son of Jesse; Every man to his tents, O Israel!"
  2. So all the men of Israel withdrew from following David and followed Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah remained steadfast to their king, from the Jordan even to Jerusalem.
  3. Then David came to his house at Jerusalem, and the king took the ten women, the concubines whom he had left to keep the house, and placed them under guard and provided them with sustenance, but did not go in to them. So they were shut up until the day of their death, living as widows.
  4. Then the king said to Amasa, "Call out the men of Judah for me within three days, and be present here yourself."
  5. So Amasa went to call out the men of Judah, but he delayed longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
  1. さて， その 所にひとりのよこしまな 人があって， 名を シバ といった． ビクリ の 子で， ベニヤミン びとであった． 彼は ラッパ を 吹いて 言った， 「われわれは ダビデ のうちに 分がない． また エッサイ の 子のうちに 嗣業を 持たない． イスラエル よ， おのおのその 天幕に 歸りなさい 」．
  2. そこで イスラエル の 人¿は 皆 ダビデ に 從う 事をやめて， ビクリ の 子 シバ に 從った． しかし ユダ の 人¿はその 王につき 從って， ヨルダン から エルサレム へ 行った．
  3. ダビデ は エルサレム の 自分の 家にきた． そして 王は 家を 守るために 殘しておいた 十人のめかけたちを 取って， 一つの 家に 入れて 守り， また 養ったが， 彼女たちの 所には， はいらなかった． 彼女たちは 死ぬ 日まで 閉じこめられ 一生， 寡婦としてすごした．
  4. 王は アマサ に 言った， 「わたしのため 三日のうちに ユダ の 人¿を 呼び 集めて， ここにきなさい 」．
  5. アマサ は ユダ を 呼び 集めるために 行ったが， 彼は 定められた 時よりもおくれた．
  1. And David said to Abishai, "Now Sheba the son of Bichri will do us more harm than Absalom; take your lord's servants and pursue him, so that he does not find for himself fortified cities and escape from our sight."
  2. So Joab's men went out after him, along with the Cherethites and the Pelethites and all the mighty men; and they went out from Jerusalem to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.
  3. When they were at the large stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa came to meet them. Now Joab was dressed in his military attire, and over it was a belt with a sword in its sheath fastened at his waist; and as he went forward, it fell out.
  4. Joab said to Amasa, "Is it well with you, my brother?" And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
  5. But Amasa was not on guard against the sword which was in Joab's hand so he struck him in the belly with it and poured out his inward parts on the ground, and did not strike him again, and he died. Then Joab and Abishai his brother pursued Sheba the son of Bichri.
  1. ダビデ は アビシャイ に 言った， 「ビクリ の 子 シバ は 今われわれに アブサロム よりも 多くの 害をするであろう． あなたの 主君の 家來たちを 率いて， 彼のあとを 追いなさい． さもないと 彼は 堅固な 町¿を 獲て， われわれを 惱ますであろう 」．

  1. Now there stood by him one of Joab's young men, and said, "Whoever favors Joab and whoever is for David, let him follow Joab."
  2. But Amasa lay wallowing in his blood in the middle of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa from the highway into the field and threw a garment over him when he saw that everyone who came by him stood still.
  3. As soon as he was removed from the highway, all the men passed on after Joab to pursue Sheba the son of Bichri.
  4. Now he went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, even Beth-maacah, and all the Berites; and they were gathered together and also went after him.
  5. They came and besieged him in Abel Beth-maacah, and they cast up a siege ramp against the city, and it stood by the rampart; and all the people who were with Joab were wreaking destruction in order to topple the wall.
  1. 時に ヨアブ の 若者のひとりが アマサ のかたわらに 立って 言った， 「ヨアブ に 味方する 者， ダビデ につく 者は ヨアブ のあとに 從いなさい 」．
  2. アマサ は 血に 染んで 大路の 中にころがっていたので， そのそばに 來る 者はみな 彼を 見て 立ちどまった． この 人は 民がみな 立ちどまるのを 見て， アマサ を 大路から 畑に 移し， 衣服をその 上にかけた．
  3. アマサ が 大路から 移されたので， 民は 皆 ヨアブ に 從って 進み， ビクリ の 子 シバ のあとを 追った．
  4. シバ は イスラエル のすべての 部族のうちを 通って ベテマアカ の アベル にきた． ビクリ びとは 皆， 集まってきて 彼に 從った．
  5. そこで ヨアブ と 共にいたすべての 人¿がきて， 彼を ベテマアカ の アベル に 圍み， 町に 向かって 土壘を 築いた． それはとりでに 向かって 立てられた． こうして 彼らは 城壁をくずそうとしてこれを 擊った．
  1. Then a wise woman called from the city, "Hear, hear! Please tell Joab, 'Come here that I may speak with you.'"
  2. So he approached her, and the woman said, "Are you Joab?" And he answered, "I am." Then she said to him, "Listen to the words of your maidservant." And he answered, "I am listening."
  3. Then she spoke, saying, "Formerly they used to say, 'They will surely ask advice at Abel,' and thus they ended the dispute.
  4. "I am of those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You are seeking to destroy a city, even a mother in Israel Why would you swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?"
  5. Joab replied, "Far be it, far be it from me that I should swallow up or destroy!
  1. その 時， ひとりの 賢い 女が 町から 呼ばわった， 「あなたがたは 聞きなさい． あなたがたは 聞きなさい． ヨアブ に， 『ここにきてください． わたしはあなたに 言うことがあります 』と 言ってください 」．
  2. 彼がその 女に 近寄ると， 女は「あなたが ヨアブ ですか 」と 言った． 彼は「そうです 」と 答えた． すると 女は 彼に「はしための 言葉をお 聞きください 」と 言ったので， 「聞きましょう 」と 彼は 言った．

  1. "Such is not the case. But a man from the hill country of Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, has lifted up his hand against King David. Only hand him over, and I will depart from the city." And the woman said to Joab, "Behold, his head will be thrown to you over the wall."
  2. Then the woman wisely came to all the people And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri and threw it to Joab So he blew the trumpet, and they were dispersed from the city, each to his tent. Joab also returned to the king at Jerusalem.
  3. Now Joab was over the whole army of Israel, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites;
  4. and Adoram was over the forced labor, and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was the recorder;
  5. and Sheva was scribe, and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;
  1. 事實はそうではなく， エフライム の 山地の 人 ビクリ の 子， 名を シバ という 者が 手をあげて 王 ダビデ にそむいたのです． あなたがたが 彼ひとりを 渡すならば， わたしはこの 町を 去ります 」． 女は ヨアブ に 言った， 「彼の 首は 城壁の 上からあなたの 所へ 投げられるでしょう 」．
  2. こうしてこの 女が 知惠をもって， すべての 民の 所に 行ったので， 彼らは ビクリ の 子 シバ の 首をはねて ヨアブ の 所へ 投げ 出した． そこで ヨアブ は ラッパ を 吹きならしたので， 人¿は 散って 町を 去り， おのおの 家に 歸った． ヨアブ は エルサレム にいる 王のもとに 歸った．
  3. ヨアブ は イスラエル の 全軍の 長であった． エホヤダ の 子 ベナヤ は ケレテ びと， および ペレテ びとの 長，
  4. アドラム は 徵募人の 長， アヒルデ の 子 ヨシャパテ は 史官，
  5. シワ は 書記官， ザドク と アビヤタル とは 祭司．
  1. and Ira the Jairite was also a priest to David.
  1. また ヤイル びと イラ は ダビデ の 祭司であった．
 
  기브온 사람들의 원한(21:1-21:22)    
 
  1. Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David sought the presence of the LORD. And the LORD said, "It is for Saul and his bloody house, because he put the Gibeonites to death."
  2. So the king called the Gibeonites and spoke to them (now the Gibeonites were not of the sons of Israel but of the remnant of the Amorites, and the sons of Israel made a covenant with them, but Saul had sought to kill them in his zeal for the sons of Israel and Judah).
  3. Thus David said to the Gibeonites, "What should I do for you? And how can I make atonement that you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?"
  4. Then the Gibeonites said to him, "We have no concern of silver or gold with Saul or his house, nor is it for us to put any man to death in Israel." And he said, "I will do for you whatever you say."
  5. So they said to the king, "The man who consumed us and who planned to exterminate us from remaining within any border of Israel,
  1. ダビデ の 世に， 年また 年と 三年， ききんがあったので， ダビデ が 主に 尋ねたところ， 主は 言われた， 「サウル とその 家とに， 血を 流した 罪がある． それはかつて 彼が ギベオン びとを 殺したためである 」．
  2. そこで 王は ギベオン びとを 召しよせた． ギベオン びとは イスラエル の 子孫ではなく， アモリ びとの 殘りであって， イスラエル の 人¿は 彼らと 誓いを 立てて， その 命を 助けた． ところが サウル は イスラエル と ユダ の 人¿のために 熱心であったので， 彼らを 殺そうとしたのである．
  3. それで ダビデ は ギベオン びとに 言った， 「わたしはあなたがたのために， 何をすればよいのですか． どんな 償いをすれば， あなたがたは 主の 嗣業を 祝福するのですか 」．
  4. ギベオン びとは 彼に 言った， 「これはわれわれと， サウル またはその 家との 間の 金銀の 問題ではありません． また イスラエル のうちのひとりでも， われわれが 殺そうというのでもありません 」． ダビデ は 言った， 「わたしがあなたがたのために 何をすればよいと 言うのですか 」．
  5. かれらは 王に 言った， 「われわれを 滅ぼした 人， われわれを 滅ぼして イスラエル の 領域のどこにもおらせないようにと， たくらんだ 人，
  1. let seven men from his sons be given to us, and we will hang them before the LORD in Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the LORD." And the king said, "I will give them."
  2. But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the oath of the LORD which was between them, between David and Saul's son Jonathan.
  3. So the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, Armoni and Mephibosheth whom she had borne to Saul, and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she had borne to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite.
  4. Then he gave them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them in the mountain before the LORD, so that the seven of them fell together; and they were put to death in the first days of harvest at the beginning of barley harvest.
  5. And Rizpah the daughter of Aiah took sackcloth and spread it for herself on the rock, from the beginning of harvest until it rained on them from the sky; and she allowed neither the birds of the sky to rest on them by day nor the beasts of the field by night.
  1. その 人の 子孫七人を 引き 渡してください． われわれは 主の 山にある ギベオン で， 彼らを 主の 前に 木にかけましょう 」． 王は 言った， 「引き 渡しましょう 」．
  2. しかし 王は サウル の 子 ヨナタン の 子である メピボセテ を 惜しんだ． 彼らの 間， すなわち ダビデ と サウル の 子 ヨナタン との 間に， 主をさして 立てた 誓いがあったからである．

  1. When it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done,
  2. then David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had stolen them from the open square of Beth-shan, where the Philistines had hanged them on the day the Philistines struck down Saul in Gilboa.
  3. He brought up the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from there, and they gathered the bones of those who had been hanged.
  4. They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in the grave of Kish his father; thus they did all that the king commanded, and after that God was moved by prayer for the land.
  5. Now when the Philistines were at war again with Israel, David went down and his servants with him; and as they fought against the Philistines, David became weary.
  1. アヤ の 娘で サウル のめかけであった リヅパ のしたことが ダビデ に 聞えたので，
  2. ダビデ は 行って サウル の 骨とその 子 ヨナタン の 骨を， ヤベシギレアデ の 人¿の 所から 取ってきた． これは ペリシテ びとが サウル を ギルボア で 殺した 日に， 木にかけた ベテシャン の 廣場から， 彼らが 盜んでいたものである．

  1. Then Ishbi-benob, who was among the descendants of the giant, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of bronze in weight, was girded with a new sword, and he intended to kill David.
  2. But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and struck the Philistine and killed him Then the men of David swore to him, saying, "You shall not go out again with us to battle, so that you do not extinguish the lamp of Israel."
  3. Now it came about after this that there was war again with the Philistines at Gob; then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Saph, who was among the descendants of the giant.
  4. There was war with the Philistines again at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
  5. There was war at Gath again, where there was a man of great stature who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four in number; and he also had been born to the giant.
  1. 時に イシビベノブ は ダビデ を 殺そうと 思った． イシビベノブ は 巨人の 子孫で， そのやりは 靑銅で 重さ 三百 シケル あり， 彼は 新しいつるぎを 帶びていた．
  2. しかし ゼルヤ の 子 アビシャイ は ダビデ を 助けて， その ペリシテ びとを 擊ち 殺した． そこで ダビデ の 從者たちは 彼に 誓って 言った， 「あなたはわれわれと 共に， 重ねて 戰爭に 出てはなりません． さもないと， あなたは イスラエル のともし 火を 消すでしょう 」．
  3. この 後， 再び ゴブ で ペリシテ びととの 戰いがあった． 時に ホシャ びと シベカイ は 巨人の 子孫のひとり サフ を 殺した．
  4. ここにまた ゴブ で， ペリシテ びととの 戰いがあったが， そこでは ベツレヘム びと ヤレオレギム の 子 エルハナン は， ガテ びと ゴリアテ を 殺した． そのやりの 柄は 機の 卷棒のようであった．
  5. また ガテ で 再び 戰いがあったが， そこにひとりの 背の 高い 人があり， その 手の 指と 足の 指は 六本ずつで， その 數は 合わせて 二十四本であった． 彼もまた 巨人から 生れた 者であった．
  1. When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimei, David's brother, struck him down.
  2. These four were born to the giant in Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and by the hand of his servants.
  1. 彼は イスラエル をののしったので， ダビデ の 兄弟 シメア の 子 ヨナタン が 彼を 殺した．
  2. これらの 四人は ガテ で 巨人から 生れた 者であったが， ダビデ の 手とその 家來たちの 手に 倒れた．
