	열왕기하 9:1-10:17 예후가 반역을 일으켜 요람과 아하시야를 죽이고 북왕국의 왕이 되었다. 그는 이세벨을 처단하고 아합 왕가를 진멸하므로써 아합 왕가에 대한 하나님의 심판을 행하였다.

	예후의 반역(9:1-9:37)

Now Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets and said to him, "Gird up your loins, and take this flask of oil in your hand and go to Ramoth-gilead.

"When you arrive there, search out Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in and bid him arise from among his brothers, and bring him to an inner room.

"Then take the flask of oil and pour it on his head and say, 'Thus says the LORD, "I have anointed you king over Israel."' Then open the door and flee and do not wait."

So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead.

When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting, and he said, "I have a word for you, O captain." And Jehu said, "For which one of us?" And he said, "For you, O captain."

時に預言者エリシャは預言者のともがらのひとりを呼んで言った，「腰をひきからげ，この油のびんを携えて，ラモテ · ギレアデへ行きなさい．

そこに着いたならば，ニムシの子ヨシャパテの子であるエヒウを尋ね出し，內にはいって彼をその同僚たちのうちから立たせて，奧の間に連れて行き，

油のびんを取って，その頭に注ぎ，『主はこう仰せられる，わたしはあなたに油を注いでイスラエルの王とする』と言い，そして戶をあけて逃げ去りなさい．とどまってはならない」．

そこで預言者であるその若者はラモテ · ギレアデへ行ったが，

He arose and went into the house, and he poured the oil on his head and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'I have anointed you king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel.

'You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.

'For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male person both bond and free in Israel.

'I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.

'The dogs shall eat Jezebel in the territory of Jezreel, and none shall bury her.'" Then he opened the door and fled.

するとエヒウが立ちあがって家にはいったので，若者はその頭に油を注いで彼に言った，「イスラエルの神，主はこう仰せられます，『わたしはあなたに油を注いで，主の民イスラエルの王とする．

あなたは主君アハブの家を擊ち滅ぼさなければならない．それによってわたしは，わたしのしもべである預言者たちの血と，主のすべてのしもべたちの血をイゼベルに報いる．

アハブの全家は滅びるであろう．アハブに屬する男は，イスラエルにいて，つながれた者も，自由な者も，ことごとくわたしは斷ち，

アハブの家をネバテの子ヤラベアムのようにし，アヒヤの子バアシャの家のようにする．

犬がイズレルの地域でイゼベルを食い，彼女を葬る者はないであろう』」．そして彼は戶をあけて逃げ去った．

Now Jehu came out to the servants of his master, and one said to him, "Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?" And he said to them, "You know very well the man and his talk."

They said, "It is a lie, tell us now." And he said, "Thus and thus he said to me, 'Thus says the LORD, "I have anointed you king over Israel."'"

Then they hurried and each man took his garment and placed it under him on the bare steps, and blew the trumpet, saying, "Jehu is king!"

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. Now Joram with all Israel was defending Ramoth-gilead against Hazael king of Aram,

but King Joram had returned to Jezreel to be healed of the wounds which the Arameans had inflicted on him when he fought with Hazael king of Aram. So Jehu said, "If this is your mind, then let no one escape or leave the city to go tell it in Jezreel."

やがてエヒウが主君の家來たちの所へ出て來ると，彼らはエヒウに言った，「變った事はありませんか．あの氣が變な人は，なんのためにあなたの所にきたのですか」．エヒウは彼らに言った，「あなたがたは，あの人を知っています．またその言う事も知っています」．

彼らは言った，「それは違います．どうぞわれわれに話してください」．そこでエヒウは言った，「彼はこうこう，わたしに告げて言いました，『主はこう仰せられる，わたしはあなたに油を注いで，イスラエルの王とする』」．

すると彼らは急いで，おのおの衣服をとり，それを階段の上のエヒウの下に敷き，ラッパを吹いて「エヒウは王である」と言った．

こうしてニムシの子であるヨシャパテの子エヒウはヨラムにそむいた．（ヨラムはイスラエルをことごとく率いて，ラモテ · ギレアデでスリヤの王ハザエルを防いだが，

ヨラム王はスリヤの王ハザエルと戰った時に，スリヤびとに負わされた傷をいやすため，エズレルに歸っていた．）エヒウは言った，「もしこれがあなたがたの本心であるならば，ひとりもこの町から忍び出て，これをエズレルに告げてはならない」．

Then Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was lying there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel and he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, "I see a company." And Joram said, "Take a horseman and send him to meet them and let him say, 'Is it peace?'"

So a horseman went to meet him and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu said, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me." And the watchman reported, "The messenger came to them, but he did not return."

Then he sent out a second horseman, who came to them and said, "Thus says the king, 'Is it peace?'" And Jehu answered, "What have you to do with peace? Turn behind me."

The watchman reported, "He came even to them, and he did not return; and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously."

そしてエヒウは車に乘ってエズレルへ行った．ヨラムがそこに伏していたからである．またユダの王アハジヤはヨラムを見舞うために下っていた．

さてエズレルのやぐらに，ひとりの物見が立っていたが，エヒウの群衆が來るのを見て，「群衆が見える」と言ったので，ヨラムは言った，「ひとりを馬に乘せてつかわし，それに會わせて『平安ですか』と言わせなさい」．

そこでひとりが馬に乘って行き，彼に會って言った，「王はこう仰せられます，『平安ですか』」．エヒウ言った，「あなたは平安となんの關係がありますか．わたしのあとについてきなさい」．物見はまた告げて言った，「使者は彼らの所へ行きましたが，歸ってきません」．

そこで再び人を馬でつかわしたので，彼らの所へ行って言った，「王はこう仰せられます，『平安ですか』」．エヒウは答えて言った，「あなたは平安となんの關係がありますか．わたしのあとについてきなさい」．

物見はまた告げて言った，「彼も，彼らの所へ行きましたが歸ってきません．あの車の操縱はニムシの子エヒウの操縱するのに似て，猛烈な勢いで操縱して來ます」．

Then Joram said, "Get ready." And they made his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu and found him in the property of Naboth the Jezreelite.

When Joram saw Jehu, he said, "Is it peace, Jehu?" And he answered, "What peace, so long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?"

So Joram reined about and fled and said to Ahaziah, "There is treachery, O Ahaziah!"

And Jehu drew his bow with his full strength and shot Joram between his arms; and the arrow went through his heart and he sank in his chariot.

Then Jehu said to Bidkar his officer, "Take him up and cast him into the property of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite, for I remember when you and I were riding together after Ahab his father, that the LORD laid this oracle against him:

そこでヨラムが「車を用意せよ」と言ったので，車を用意すると，イスラエルの王ヨラムと，ユダの王アハジヤは，おのおのその車で出て行った．すなわちエヒウに會うために出ていって，エズレルびとナボテの地所で彼に會った．

ヨラムはエヒウを見て言った，「エヒウよ，平安ですか」．エヒウは答えた，「あなたの母イゼベルの姦淫と魔術とが，こんなに多いのに，どうして平安でありえましょうか」．

その時ヨラムは車をめぐらして逃げ，アハジヤにむかって，「アハジヤよ，反逆です」と言うと，

エヒウは手に弓をひきしぼって，ヨラムの兩肩の間を射たので，矢は彼の心臟を貫き，彼は車の中に倒れた．

エヒウはその副官ビデカルに言った，「彼を取りあげて，エズレルびとナボテの畑に投げ捨てなさい．かつて，わたしとあなたと，ふたり共に乘って，彼の父アハブに從ったとき，主が彼について，この預言をされたことを記憶しなさい．

'Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons,' says the LORD, 'and I will repay you in this property,' says the LORD. Now then, take and cast him into the property, according to the word of the LORD."

When Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house And Jehu pursued him and said, "Shoot him too, in the chariot " So they shot him at the ascent of Gur, which is at Ibleam. But he fled to Megiddo and died there.

Then his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem and buried him in his grave with his fathers in the city of David.

Now in the eleventh year of Joram, the son of Ahab, Ahaziah became king over Judah.

When Jehu came to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it, and she painted her eyes and adorned her head and looked out the window.

すなわち主は言われた，『まことに，わたしはきのうナボテの血と，その子らの血を見た』．また主は言われた，『わたしはこの地所であなたに報復する』と．それゆえ彼を取りあげて，その地所に投げすて，主の言葉のようにしなさい」．

As Jehu entered the gate, she said, "Is it well, Zimri, your master's murderer?"

Then he lifted up his face to the window and said, "Who is on my side? Who?" And two or three officials looked down at him.

He said, "Throw her down." So they threw her down, and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall and on the horses, and he trampled her under foot.

When he came in, he ate and drank; and he said, "See now to this cursed woman and bury her, for she is a king's daughter."

They went to bury her, but they found nothing more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.

エヒウが門にはいってきたので，「主君を殺したジムリよ，無事ですか」と言った．

するとエヒウは顔をあげて窓にむかい，「だれか，わたしに味方する者があるか．だれかあるか」と言うと，二，三人の宦官がエヒウを望み見たので，

エヒウは「彼女を投げ落せ」と言った．彼らは彼女を投げ落したので，その血が壁と馬とにはねかかった．そして馬は彼女を踏みつけた．

エヒウは內にはいって食い飮みし，そして言った，「あののろわれた女を見，彼女を葬りなさい．彼女は王の娘なのだ」．

しかし彼らが彼女を葬ろうとして行って見ると，頭蓋骨と，足と，たなごころのほか何もなかったので，

Therefore they returned and told him. And he said, "This is the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, 'In the property of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;

and the corpse of Jezebel will be as dung on the face of the field in the property of Jezreel, so they cannot say, "This is Jezebel."'"

歸って，彼に告げると，彼は言った，「これは主が，そのしもべ，テシベびとエリヤによってお告げになった言葉である．すなわち『エズレルの地で犬がイゼベルの肉を食うであろう．

イゼベルの死體はエズレルの地で，糞土のように野のおもてに捨てられて，だれも，これはイゼベルだ，と言うことができないであろう』」．

Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, the elders, and to the guardians of the children of Ahab, saying,

"Now, when this letter comes to you, since your master's sons are with you, as well as the chariots and horses and a fortified city and the weapons,

select the best and fittest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house."

But they feared greatly and said, "Behold, the two kings did not stand before him; how then can we stand?"

And the one who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders, and the guardians of the children, sent word to Jehu, saying, "We are your servants, all that you say to us we will do, we will not make any man king; do what is good in your sight."

アハブはサマリヤに七十人の子供があった．エヒウは手紙をしたためてサマリヤに送り，町のつかさたちと，長老たちと，アハブの子供の守役たちとに傳えて言った，

「あなたがたの主君の子供たちがあなたがたと共におり，また戰車も馬も，堅固な町も武器もあるのだから，この手紙があなたがたのもとに屆いたならば，すぐ，

あなたがたは主君の子供たちのうち最もすぐれた，最も適當な者を選んで，その父の位にすえ，主君の家のために戰いなさい」．

彼らは大いに恐れて言った，「ふたりの王たちがすでに彼に當ることができなかったのに，われわれがどうして當ることができよう」．

そこで宮廷のつかさ，町のつかさ，長老たちと守役たちはエヒウに人をつかわして言った，「わたしたちは，あなたのしもべです．すべてあなたが命じられる事をいたします．わたしたちは王を立てることを好みません．あなたがよいと思われることをしてください」．

Then he wrote a letter to them a second time saying, "If you are on my side, and you will listen to my voice, take the heads of the men, your master's sons, and come to me at Jezreel tomorrow about this time." Now the king's sons, seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, who were rearing them.

When the letter came to them, they took the king's sons and slaughtered them, seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him at Jezreel.

When the messenger came and told him, saying, "They have brought the heads of the king's sons," he said, "Put them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until morning."

Now in the morning he went out and stood and said to all the people, "You are innocent; behold, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?

"Know then that there shall fall to the earth nothing of the word of the LORD, which the LORD spoke concerning the house of Ahab, for the LORD has done what He spoke through His servant Elijah."

そこでエヒウは再び彼らに手紙を書き送って言った，「もしあなたがたが，わたしに味方し，わたしに從おうとするならば，あなたがたの主君の子供たちの首を取って，あすの今ごろエズレルにいるわたしのもとに持ってきなさい」．そのころ，王の子供たち七十人は彼らを育てていた町のおもだった人¿と共にいた．

彼らはその手紙を受け取ると，王の子供たちを捕えて，その七十人をことごとく殺し，その首をかごにつめて，エズレルにいるエヒウのもとに送った．

これであなたがたは，主がアハブの家について告げられた主の言葉は一つも地に落ちないことを知りなさい．主は，そのしもべエリヤによってお告げになった事をなし遂げられたのです」．

So Jehu killed all who remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men and his acquaintances and his priests, until he left him without a survivor.

Then he arose and departed and went to Samaria. On the way while he was at Beth-eked of the shepherds,

Jehu met the relatives of Ahaziah king of Judah and said, "Who are you?" And they answered, "We are the relatives of Ahaziah; and we have come down to greet the sons of the king and the sons of the queen mother."

He said, "Take them alive." So they took them alive and killed them at the pit of Beth-eked, forty-two men; and he left none of them.

Now when he had departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him, "Is your heart right, as my heart is with your heart?" And Jehonadab answered, "It is " Jehu said, "If it is, give me your hand." And he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.

こうしてエヒウは，アハブの家に屬する者でエズレルに殘っている者をことごとく殺し，またそのすべてのおもだった者，その親しい者およびその祭司たちを殺して，彼に屬する者はひとりも殘さなかった．

さてエヒウは立ってサマリヤへ行ったが，途中，牧者の集まり場で，

ユダの王アハジヤの身內の人¿に會い，「あなたがたはどなたですか」と言うと，「わたしたちはアハジヤの身內の者ですが，王の子供たちと，王母の子供たちの安否を問うために下ってきたのです」と答えたので，

エヒウは「彼らをいけどれ」と命じた．そこで彼らをいけどって，集まり場の穴のかたわらで彼ら四十二人をことごとく殺し，ひとりをも殘さなかった．

エヒウはそこを立って行ったが，自分を迎えにきたレカブの子ヨナダブに會ったので，彼にあいさつして，「あなたの心は，わたしがあなたに對するように眞實ですか」と言うと，ヨナダブは「眞實です」と答えた．するとエヒウは「それならば，あなたの手をわたしに伸べなさい」と言ったので，その手を伸べると，彼を引いて自分の車に上らせ，

He said, "Come with me and see my zeal for the LORD." So he made him ride in his chariot.

When he came to Samaria, he killed all who remained to Ahab in Samaria, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke to Elijah.

「わたしと一緖にきて，わたしが主に熱心なのを見なさい」と言った．そして彼を自分の車に乘せ，

サマリヤへ行って，アハブに屬する者で，サマリヤに殘っている者をことごとく殺して，その一族を滅ぼした．主がエリヤにお告げになった言葉のとおりである．
