사도행전 22:22-23:11

 바울의 변론을 듣고 더욱 완악해진 유대인들은 그를 죽이려 했지만, 위기에 처한 바울은 자신의 로마 시민권을 이용해 위기에서 모면하였다. 또한 공회로 넘겨진 바울은 산헤드린 공회 앞에서 변론한 후 투옥되었다.
  
  로마 시민권 주장(22:22-22:30)    
 
  1. They listened to him up to this statement, and then they raised their voices and said, "Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he should not be allowed to live!"
  2. And as they were crying out and throwing off their cloaks and tossing dust into the air,
  3. the commander ordered him to be brought into the barracks, stating that he should be examined by scourging so that he might find out the reason why they were shouting against him that way.
  4. But when they stretched him out with thongs, Paul said to the centurion who was standing by, "Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is a Roman and uncondemned?"
  5. When the centurion heard this, he went to the commander and told him, saying, "What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman."
  1. 彼の 言葉をここまで 聞いていた 人¿は， このとき， 聲を 張りあげて 言った， 「こんな 男は 地上から 取り 除いてしまえ． 生かしておくべきではない 」．
  2. 人¿がこうわめき 立てて， 空中に 上着を 投げ， ちりをまき 散らす 始末であったので，
  3. 千卒長は パウロ を 兵營に 引き 入れるように 命じ， どういうわけで， 彼に 對してこんなにわめき 立てているのかを 確かめるため， 彼をむちの 拷問にかけて， 取り 調べるように 言いわたした．
  4. 彼らがむちを 當てるため， 彼を 縛りつけていた 時， パウロ はそばに 立っている 百卒長に 言った， 「ロ ― マ の 市民たる 者を， 裁判にかけもしないで， むち 打ってよいのか 」．
  5. 百卒長はこれを 聞き， 千卒長のところに 行って 報告し， そして 言った， 「どうなさいますか． あの 人は ロ ― マ の 市民なのです 」．
  1. The commander came and said to him, "Tell me, are you a Roman?" And he said, "Yes."
  2. The commander answered, "I acquired this citizenship with a large sum of money." And Paul said, "But I was actually born a citizen."
  3. Therefore those who were about to examine him immediately let go of him; and the commander also was afraid when he found out that he was a Roman, and because he had put him in chains.
  4. But on the next day, wishing to know for certain why he had been accused by the Jews, he released him and ordered the chief priests and all the Council to assemble, and brought Paul down and set him before them.
  1. そこで， 千卒長が パウロ のところにきて 言った， 「わたしに 言ってくれ． あなたは ロ ― マ の 市民なのか 」． パウロ は「そうです 」と 言った．
  2. これに 對して 千卒長が 言った， 「わたしはこの 市民權を， 多額の 金で 買い 取ったのだ 」． すると パウロ は 言った， 「わたしは 生れながらの 市民です 」．
  3. そこで， パウロ を 取り 調べようとしていた 人たちは， ただちに 彼から 身を 引いた． 千卒長も， パウロ が ロ ― マ の 市民であること， また， そういう 人を 縛っていたことがわかって， 恐れた．
  4. 翌日， 彼は， ユダヤ 人がなぜ パウロ を 訴え 出たのか， その 眞相を 知ろうと 思って 彼を 解いてやり， 同時に 祭司長たちと 全議會とを 召集させ， そこに 彼を 引き 出して， 彼らの 前に 立たせた．
 
  공회에서의 변론(23:1-23:11)    
 
  1. Paul, looking intently at the Council, said, "Brethren, I have lived my life with a perfectly good conscience before God up to this day."
  2. The high priest Ananias commanded those standing beside him to strike him on the mouth.
  3. Then Paul said to him, "God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! Do you sit to try me according to the Law, and in violation of the Law order me to be struck?"
  4. But the bystanders said, "Do you revile God's high priest?"
  5. And Paul said, "I was not aware, brethren, that he was high priest; for it is written, 'YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE.'"
  1. パウロ は 議會を 見つめて 言った， 「兄弟たちよ， わたしは 今日まで， 神の 前に， ひたすら 明らかな 良心にしたがって 行動してきた 」．
  2. すると， 大祭司 アナニヤ が， パウロ のそばに 立っている 者たちに， 彼の 口を 打てと 命じた．
  3. そのとき， パウロ は アナニヤ にむかって 言った， 「白く 塗られた 壁よ， 神があなたを 打つであろう． あなたは， 律法にしたがって， わたしをさばくために 座についているのに， 律法にそむいて， わたしを 打つことを 命じるのか 」．
  4. すると， そばに 立っている 者たちが 言った， 「神の 大祭司に 對して 無禮なことを 言うのか 」．
  5. パウロ は 言った， 「兄弟たちよ， 彼が 大祭司だとは 知らなかった． 聖書に『民のかしらを 惡く 言ってはいけない 』と， 書いてあるのだった 」．
  1. But perceiving that one group were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, Paul began crying out in the Council, "Brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am on trial for the hope and resurrection of the dead!"
  2. As he said this, there occurred a dissension between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and the assembly was divided.
  3. For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor an angel, nor a spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.
  4. And there occurred a great uproar; and some of the scribes of the Pharisaic party stood up and began to argue heatedly, saying, "We find nothing wrong with this man; suppose a spirit or an angel has spoken to him?"
  5. And as a great dissension was developing, the commander was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces by them and ordered the troops to go down and take him away from them by force, and bring him into the barracks.
  1. パウロ は， 議員の 一部が サドカイ 人であり， 一部は パリサイ 人であるのを 見て， 議會の 中で 聲を 高めて 言った， 「兄弟たちよ， わたしは パリサイ 人であり， パリサイ 人の 子である． わたしは， 死人の 復活の 望みをいだいていることで， 裁判を 受けているのである 」．
  2. 彼がこう 言ったところ， パリサイ 人と サドカイ 人との 間に 爭論が 生じ， 會衆は 相分れた．
  3. 元來， サドカイ 人は， 復活とか 天使とか 靈とかは， いっさい 存在しないと 言い， パリサイ 人は， それらは， みな 存在すると 主張している．
  4. そこで， 大¿ぎとなった． パリサイ 派のある 律法學者たちが 立って， 强く 主張して 言った， 「われわれは， この 人には 何も 惡いことがないと 思う． あるいは， 靈か 天使かが， 彼に 告げたのかも 知れない 」．
  5. こうして， 爭論が 激しくなったので， 千卒長は， パウロ が 彼らに 引き 裂かれるのを 氣づかって， 兵卒どもに， 降りて 行って パウロ を 彼らの 中から 力づくで 引き 出し， 兵營に 連れて 來るように， 命じた．
  1. But on the night immediately following, the Lord stood at his side and said, "Take courage; for as you have solemnly witnessed to My cause at Jerusalem, so you must witness at Rome also."
  1. その 夜， 主が パウロ に 臨んで 言われた， 「しっかりせよ． あなたは， エルサレム でわたしのことをあかししたように， ロ ― マ でもあかしをしなくてはならない 」．
 
  사두개인( 23:6)  영적 존재에 대한 믿음과 부활, 그리고 예정론에 대한 교리를 부인하면서 오직 기록된 말씀만을 인정하는 유대교의 한 분파
