	역대하 13:1-15:19 르호보암에 이어 왕위에 오른 유다 왕 아비야는 북이스라엘 여로보암과의 전투에서 전력상 열세에도 불구하고 대승을 거두었다. 유다의 3대 왕 아사는 우상을 파하고 성읍을 건축하는 등의 선정을 베풀므로써, 세라의 침입시 하나님의 도우심을 받아 승리할 수 있었다. 아사는 아사랴의 예언을 듣고 종교 개혁을 시행했으며, 이에 하나님께서는 왕국의 평안을 허락하셨다.

	아비야의 유다 통치(13:1-13:22)

In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.

He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Micaiah the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah. Now there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.

Abijah began the battle with an army of valiant warriors, 400,000 chosen men, while Jeroboam drew up in battle formation against him with 800,000 chosen men who were valiant warriors.

Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the hill country of Ephraim, and said, "Listen to me, Jeroboam and all Israel:

"Do you not know that the LORD God of Israel gave the rule over Israel forever to David and his sons by a covenant of salt?

ヤラベアム王の第十八年にアビヤがユダの王となった．

彼は三年の間エルサレムで世を治めた．彼の母はギベアのウリエルの娘で，名をミカヤといった．

ここにアビヤとヤラベアムとの間に戰爭が起り，アビヤは四十万の精兵から成る勇敢な軍勢をもって戰いにいで，ヤラベアムも大勇士から成る八十万の精兵をもって，これに向かって戰いの備えをした．

時にアビヤはエフライムの山地にあるゼマライム山の上に立って言った，「ヤラベアムおよびイスラエルの人¿よ皆聞け．

あなたがたはイスラエルの神，主が鹽の契約をもってイスラエルの國をながくダビデとその子孫に賜わったことを知らないのか．

"Yet Jeroboam the son of Nebat, the servant of Solomon the son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master,

and worthless men gathered about him, scoundrels, who proved too strong for Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, when he was young and timid and could not hold his own against them.

"So now you intend to resist the kingdom of the LORD through the sons of David, being a great multitude and having with you the golden calves which Jeroboam made for gods for you.

"Have you not driven out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests like the peoples of other lands? Whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams, even he may become a priest of what are no gods.

"But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the sons of Aaron are ministering to the LORD as priests, and the Levites attend to their work.

ところがダビデの子ソロモンの家來であるネバテの子ヤラベアムが起って，その主君にそむき，

また卑しい無賴のともがらが集まって彼にくみし，ソロモンの子レハベアムに敵したが，レハベアムは若く，かつ意志が弱くてこれに當ることができなかった．

今また，あなたがたは大軍をたのみ，またヤラベアムが造って，あなたがたの神とした金の子牛をたのんで，ダビデの子孫の手にある主の國に敵對しようとしている．

またあなたがたはアロンの子孫である主の祭司とレビびととを追いだして，他の國¿の民がするように祭司を立てたではないか．すなわちだれでも若い雄牛一頭，雄羊七頭を携えてきて，自分を聖別する者は皆あの神でない者の祭司とすることができた．

しかしわれわれにおいては，主がわれわれの神であって，われわれは彼を捨てない．また主に仕える祭司はアロンの子孫であり， ¿きをなす者はレビびとである．

"Every morning and evening they burn to the LORD burnt offerings and fragrant incense, and the showbread is set on the clean table, and the golden lampstand with its lamps is ready to light every evening; for we keep the charge of the LORD our God, but you have forsaken Him.

"Now behold, God is with us at our head and His priests with the signal trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the LORD God of your fathers, for you will not succeed."

But Jeroboam had set an ambush to come from the rear, so that Israel was in front of Judah and the ambush was behind them.

When Judah turned around, behold, they were attacked both front and rear; so they cried to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets.

Then the men of Judah raised a war cry, and when the men of Judah raised the war cry, then it was that God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

彼らは朝ごと夕ごとに主に §祭と，こうばしい香をささげ，供えのパンを純金の机の上に供え，また金の燭台とそのともしび皿を整えて，夕ごとにともすのである．このようにわれわれはわれわれの神，主の務を守っているが，あなたがたは彼を捨てた．

When the sons of Israel fled before Judah, God gave them into their hand.

Abijah and his people defeated them with a great slaughter, so that 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain.

Thus the sons of Israel were subdued at that time, and the sons of Judah conquered because they trusted in the LORD, the God of their fathers.

Abijah pursued Jeroboam and captured from him several cities, Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages and Ephron with its villages.

Jeroboam did not again recover strength in the days of Abijah; and the LORD struck him and he died.

イスラエルの人¿はユダの前から逃げた．神が彼らをユダの手に渡されたので，

アビヤとその民は，彼らをおびただしく擊ち殺した．イスラエルの殺されて倒れた者は五十万人，皆精兵であった．

このように，この時イスラエルの人¿は打ち負かされ，ユダの人¿は勝を得た．彼らがその先祖の神，主を賴んだからである．

アビヤはヤラベアムを追擊して數個の町を彼から取った．すなわちベテルとその村里，エシャナとその村里，エフロンとその村里である．

ヤラベアムは，アビヤの世には再び力を得ることができず，主に擊たれて死んだ．

But Abijah became powerful; and took fourteen wives to himself, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.

Now the rest of the acts of Abijah, and his ways and his words are written in the treatise of the prophet Iddo.

しかしアビヤは强くなり，妻十四人をめとり，むすこ二十二人，むすめ十六人をもうけた．

アビヤのその他の行爲すなわちその行動と言葉は，預言者イドの注釋にしるされている．

	아사의 유다 통치(14:1-14:15)

So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David, and his son Asa became king in his place. The land was undisturbed for ten years during his days.

Asa did good and right in the sight of the LORD his God,

for he removed the foreign altars and high places, tore down the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherim,

and commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers and to observe the law and the commandment.

He also removed the high places and the incense altars from all the cities of Judah. And the kingdom was undisturbed under him.

アビヤはその先祖たちと共に眠って，ダビデの町に葬られ，その子アサが代って王となった．アサの治世に國は十年の間，穩やかであった．

アサはその神，主の目に良しと見え，また正しと見えることを行った．

彼は異なる祭壇と，もろもろの高き所を取り除き，石柱をこわし，アシラ像を切り倒し，

He built fortified cities in Judah, since the land was undisturbed, and there was no one at war with him during those years, because the LORD had given him rest.

For he said to Judah, "Let us build these cities and surround them with walls and towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him, and He has given us rest on every side." So they built and prospered.

Now Asa had an army of 300,000 from Judah, bearing large shields and spears, and 280,000 from Benjamin, bearing shields and wielding bows; all of them were valiant warriors.

Now Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million men and 300 chariots, and he came to Mareshah.

So Asa went out to meet him, and they drew up in battle formation in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

彼は國が穩やかであったので，要害の町數個をユダに建てた．また主が彼に平安を賜わったので，この年ごろ戰爭がなかった．

彼はユダに言った，「われわれはこれらの町を建て，その周圍に石がきを築き，やぐらを建て，門と貫の木を設けよう．われわれがわれわれの神，主を求めたので，この國はなおわれわれのものであり，われわれが彼を求めたので，四方において，われわれに平安を賜わった」．こうして彼らは滯りなく建て終った．

アサの軍隊はユダから出た者三十万人あって，盾とやりをとり，ベニヤミンから出た者二十八万人あって，小盾をとり，弓を引いた．これはみな大勇士であった．

エチオピヤびとゼラが，百万の軍隊と三百の戰車を率いて，マレシャまで攻めてきた．

アサは出て，これを迎え，マレシャのゼパタの谷に戰いの備えをした．

Then Asa called to the LORD his God and said, "LORD, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O LORD our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You."

So the LORD routed the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.

Asa and the people who were with him pursued them as far as Gerar; and so many Ethiopians fell that they could not recover, for they were shattered before the LORD and before His army. And they carried away very much plunder.

They destroyed all the cities around Gerar, for the dread of the LORD had fallen on them; and they despoiled all the cities, for there was much plunder in them.

They also struck down those who owned livestock, and they carried away large numbers of sheep and camels. Then they returned to Jerusalem.

時にアサはその神，主に向かって呼ばわって言った，「主よ，力のある者を助けることも，力のない者を助けることも，あなたにおいては異なることはありません．われわれの神，主よ，われわれをお助けください．われわれはあなたに寄り賴み，あなたの名によってこの大軍に當ります．主よ，あなたはわれわれの神です．どうぞ人をあなたに勝たせないでください」．

そこで主はアサの前とユダの前でエチオピヤびとを擊ち敗られたので，エチオピヤびとは逃げ去った．

アサと彼に從う民は彼らをゲラルまで追擊したので，エチオピヤびとは倒れて，生き殘った者はひとりもなかった．主と主の軍勢の前に擊ち破られたからである．ユダの人¿の得たぶんどり物は非常に多かった．

	아사랴의 훈계와 아사의 개혁(15:1-15:19)

Now the Spirit of God came on Azariah the son of Oded,

and he went out to meet Asa and said to him, "Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: the LORD is with you when you are with Him And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.

"For many days Israel was without the true God and without a teaching priest and without law.

"But in their distress they turned to the LORD God of Israel, and they sought Him, and He let them find Him.

"In those times there was no peace to him who went out or to him who came in, for many disturbances afflicted all the inhabitants of the lands.

時に神の靈がオデデの子アザリヤに臨んだので，

彼は出ていってアサを迎え，これに言った，「アサおよびユダとベニヤミンの人¿よ，わたしに聞きなさい．あなたがたが主と共におる間は，主もあなたがたと共におられます．あなたがたが，もし彼を求めるならば，彼に會うでしょう．しかし，彼を捨てるならば，彼もあなたがたを捨てられるでしょう．

そもそも，イスラエルには長い間，まことの神がなく，敎をなす祭司もなく，律法もなかった．

しかし，惱みの時，彼らがイスラエルの神，主に立ち返り，彼を求めたので彼に會った．

"Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every kind of distress.

"But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work."

Now when Asa heard these words and the prophecy which Azariah the son of Oded the prophet spoke, he took courage and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had captured in the hill country of Ephraim He then restored the altar of the LORD which was in front of the porch of the LORD.

He gathered all Judah and Benjamin and those from Ephraim, Manasseh and Simeon who resided with them, for many defected to him from Israel when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.

So they assembled at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa's reign.

國は國に，町は町に擊ち ¿かれた．神がもろもろの惱みをもって彼らを苦しめられたからです．

しかしあなたがたは勇氣を出しなさい．手を弱くしてはならない．あなたがたのわざには報いがあるからです」．

アサはこれらの言葉すなわちオデデの子アザリヤの預言を聞いて勇氣を得，憎むべき偶像をユダとベニヤミンの全地から除き，また彼がエフライムの山地で得た町¿から除き，主の宮の廊の前にあった主の祭壇を再興した．

彼はまたユダとベニヤミンの人¿およびエフライム，マナセ，シメオンから來て，彼らの間に寄留していた者を集めた．その神，主がアサと共におられるのを見て，イスラエルからアサのもとに下った者が多くあったからである．

彼らはアサの治世の十五年の三月にエルサレムに集まり，

They sacrificed to the LORD that day 700 oxen and 7,000 sheep from the spoil they had brought.

They entered into the covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and soul;

and whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.

Moreover, they made an oath to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouting, with trumpets and with horns.

All Judah rejoiced concerning the oath, for they had sworn with their whole heart and had sought Him earnestly, and He let them find Him. So the LORD gave them rest on every side.

携えてきたぶんどり物のうちから牛七百頭，羊七千頭をその日主にささげた．

そして彼らは契約を結び，心をつくし，精神をつくして先祖の神，主を求めることと，

すべてイスラエルの神，主を求めない者は老幼男女の別なく殺さるべきことを約した．

そして彼らは大聲をあげて叫び，ラッパを吹き，角笛を鳴らして，主に誓いを立てた．

ユダは皆その誓いを喜んだ．彼らは心をつくして誓いを立て，精神をつくして主を求めたので，主は彼らに會い，四方で彼らに安息を賜わった．

He also removed Maacah, the mother of King Asa, from the position of queen mother, because she had made a horrid image as an Asherah, and Asa cut down her horrid image, crushed it and burned it at the brook Kidron.

But the high places were not removed from Israel; nevertheless Asa's heart was blameless all his days.

He brought into the house of God the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils.

And there was no more war until the thirty-fifth year of Asa's reign.

アサ王の母マアカがアシラのために憎むべき像を造ったので，アサは彼女をおとして太后とせず，その憎むべき像を切り倒して粉¿に ¿き，キデロン川でそれを燒いた．

ただし高き所はイスラエルから除かなかったが，アサの心は一生の間，正しかった．

彼はまた，その父のささげた物および自分のささげた物，すなわち銀，金¿びに器物などを主の宮に携え入れた．

そしてアサの治世の三十五年までは再び戰爭がなかった．
