에스라 5:1-6:22

 선지자 학개와 스가랴의 예언을 통해 스룹바벨과 예수아는 성전 건축의 열정을 다시 회복하여 성전 건축을 재개하였다. 방해 세력들은 다리오 왕에게 조서를 올렸는데, 오히려 성전 건축의 완결 조서가 내려서 성전이 완공되었다. 이스라엘 백성들은 성전 완공 후에 성전 봉헌식을 하고 유월절을 지켰다.
  
  성전 건축 재개(5:1-5:17)    
 
  1. When the prophets, Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them,
  2. then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and the prophets of God were with them supporting them.
  3. At that time Tattenai, the governor of the province beyond the River, and Shethar-bozenai and their colleagues came to them and spoke to them thus, "Who issued you a decree to rebuild this temple and to finish this structure?"
  4. Then we told them accordingly what the names of the men were who were reconstructing this building.
  5. But the eye of their God was on the elders of the Jews, and they did not stop them until a report could come to Darius, and then a written reply be returned concerning it.
  1. さて 預言者 ハガイ および イド の 子 ゼカリヤ のふたりの 預言者は， ユダ と エルサレム にいる ユダヤ 人に 向かって， 彼らの 上にいます イスラエル の 神の 名によって 預言した．
  2. そこで シャルテル の 子 ゼルバベル および ヨザダク の 子 エシュア は 立ちあがって， エルサレム にある 神の 宮を 建て 始めた． 神の 預言者たちも， 彼らと 共にいて 彼らを 助けた．

  1. This is the copy of the letter which Tattenai, the governor of the province beyond the River, and Shethar-bozenai and his colleagues the officials, who were beyond the River, sent to Darius the king.
  2. They sent a report to him in which it was written thus: "To Darius the king, all peace.
  3. "Let it be known to the king that we have gone to the province of Judah, to the house of the great God, which is being built with huge stones, and beams are being laid in the walls; and this work is going on with great care and is succeeding in their hands.
  4. "Then we asked those elders and said to them thus, 'Who issued you a decree to rebuild this temple and to finish this structure?'
  5. "We also asked them their names so as to inform you, and that we might write down the names of the men who were at their head.
  1. 川向こうの 州の 知事 タテナイ および セタル · ボズナイ とその 同僚である 川向こうの 州の 知事たちが， ダリヨス 王に 送った 手紙の 寫しは 次のとおりである．
  2. すなわち， 彼らが 王に 送った 手紙には， 次のようにしるされてあった． 「願わくは ダリヨス 王に 全き 平安があるように．
  3. 王に 次のことをお 知らせいたします． すなわち， われわれが ユダヤ 州へ 行き， かの 大いなる 神の 宮へ 行って 見たところ， それは 大きな 石をもって 建てられ， 材木を 組んで 壁をつくり， その 工事は 勤勉に 行われ， 彼らの 手によって 大いにはかどっています．
  4. そこでわれわれはその 長老たちに 尋ねてこう 言いました， 『だれがあなたがたにこの 宮を 建て， この 城壁を 築きあげることを 命じたのか 』と．
  5. われわれはまた 彼らのかしらたる 人¿の 名を 書きしるして， あなたにお 知らせするために， その 名を 尋ねました．
  1. "Thus they answered us, saying, 'We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth and are rebuilding the temple that was built many years ago, which a great king of Israel built and finished.
  2. 'But because our fathers had provoked the God of heaven to wrath, He gave them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this temple and deported the people to Babylon.
  3. 'However, in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, King Cyrus issued a decree to rebuild this house of God.
  4. 'Also the gold and silver utensils of the house of God which Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem, and brought them to the temple of Babylon, these King Cyrus took from the temple of Babylon and they were given to one whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had appointed governor.
  5. 'He said to him, "Take these utensils, go and deposit them in the temple in Jerusalem and let the house of God be rebuilt in its place."
  1. すると， 彼らはわれわれに 答えてこう 言いました， 『われわれは 天地の 神のしもべであって， 年久しい 昔に 建てられた 宮を， 再び 建てるのです． これはもと， イスラエル の 大いなる 王の 建てあげたものですが，
  2. われわれの 先祖たちが， 天の 神の 怒りを 引き 起したため， 神は 彼らを， カルデヤ びと バビロン の 王 ネブカデネザル の 手に 渡されたので， 彼はこの 宮をこわし， 民を バビロン に 捕えて 行きました．

  1. 'Then that Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God in Jerusalem; and from then until now it has been under construction and it is not yet completed.'
  2. "Now if it pleases the king, let a search be conducted in the king's treasure house, which is there in Babylon, if it be that a decree was issued by King Cyrus to rebuild this house of God at Jerusalem; and let the king send to us his decision concerning this matter."
  1. そこでこの セシバザル は 來て エルサレム にある 神の 宮の 基礎をすえました． その 時から 今に 至るまで， 建築を 續けていますが， まだ 完成しないのです 』と．
  2. それで 今， もし 王がよしと 見られるならば， バビロン にある 王の 寶庫を 調べて， エルサレム の 神のこの 宮を 建てることの 命令が， はたして クロス 王から 出ているかどうかを 確かめ， この 事についての 王のお 考えをわれわれに 傳えてください 」．
 
  다리오의 조서와 성전 봉헌(6:1-6:22)    
 
  1. Then King Darius issued a decree, and search was made in the archives, where the treasures were stored in Babylon.
  2. In Ecbatana in the fortress, which is in the province of Media, a scroll was found and there was written in it as follows: "Memorandum--
  3. "In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus the king issued a decree: 'Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the temple, the place where sacrifices are offered, be rebuilt and let its foundations be retained, its height being 60 cubits and its width 60 cubits;
  4. with three layers of huge stones and one layer of timbers. And let the cost be paid from the royal treasury.
  5. 'Also let the gold and silver utensils of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took from the temple in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be returned and brought to their places in the temple in Jerusalem; and you shall put them in the house of God.'
  1. そこで ダリヨス 王は 命を 下して， バビロン のうちで， 古文書をおさめてある 書庫を 調べさせたところ，

  1. "Now therefore, Tattenai, governor of the province beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai and your colleagues, the officials of the provinces beyond the River, keep away from there.
  2. "Leave this work on the house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild this house of God on its site.
  3. "Moreover, I issue a decree concerning what you are to do for these elders of Judah in the rebuilding of this house of God: the full cost is to be paid to these people from the royal treasury out of the taxes of the provinces beyond the River, and that without delay.
  4. "Whatever is needed, both young bulls, rams, and lambs for a burnt offering to the God of heaven, and wheat, salt, wine and anointing oil, as the priests in Jerusalem request, it is to be given to them daily without fail,
  5. that they may offer acceptable sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons.
  1. 「それで 川向こうの 州の 知事 タテナイ および セタル · ボズナイ とその 同僚である 川向こうの 州の 知事たちよ， あなたがたはこれに 遠ざかり，
  2. 神のこの 宮の 工事を 彼らに 任せ， ユダヤ 人の 知事と ユダヤ 人の 長老たちに， 神のこの 宮をもとの 所に 建てさせよ．

  5. 彼らにこうばしい ¿牲を 天の 神にささげさせ， 王と 王子たちの 長壽を 祈らせよ．
  1. "And I issued a decree that any man who violates this edict, a timber shall be drawn from his house and he shall be impaled on it and his house shall be made a refuse heap on account of this.
  2. "May the God who has caused His name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who attempts to change it, so as to destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have issued this decree, let it be carried out with all diligence!"
  3. Then Tattenai, the governor of the province beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai and their colleagues carried out the decree with all diligence, just as King Darius had sent.
  4. And the elders of the Jews were successful in building through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo And they finished building according to the command of the God of Israel and the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
  5. This temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar; it was the sixth year of the reign of King Darius.
  1. わたしはまた 命を 下す． だれでもこの 命ずる 所を 改める 者があるならば， その 家の 梁は 拔き 取られ， 彼はその 上にくぎづけにされ， その 家はまた， これがために 汚物の 山とされるであろう．
  2. これを 改めようとする 者， あるいは エルサレム にある 神のこの 宮を 滅ぼそうとして 手を 出す 王あるいは 民は， かしこにその 名をとどめられる 神よ， 願わくはこれを 倒されるように． われ ダリヨス は 命を 下す． 心してこれを 行え 」．
  3. ダリヨス 王がこう 言い 送ったので， 川向こうの 州の 知事 タテナイ および セタル · ボズナイ とその 同僚たちは 心してこれを 行った．
  4. そして ユダヤ 人の 長老たちは， 預言者 ハガイ および イド の 子 ゼカリヤ の 預言によって 建て， これをなし 遂げた． 彼らは イスラエル の 神の 命令により， また クロス ， ダリヨス および ペルシャ 王 アルタシャスタ の 命によって， これを 建て 終った．
  5. この 宮は ダリヨス 王の 治世の 六年 アダル の 月の 三日に 完成した．
  1. And the sons of Israel, the priests, the Levites and the rest of the exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
  2. They offered for the dedication of this temple of God 100 bulls, 200 rams, 400 lambs, and as a sin offering for all Israel 12 male goats, corresponding to the number of the tribes of Israel.
  3. Then they appointed the priests to their divisions and the Levites in their orders for the service of God in Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses.
  4. The exiles observed the Passover on the fourteenth of the first month.
  5. For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were pure Then they slaughtered the Passover lamb for all the exiles, both for their brothers the priests and for themselves.
  1. そこで イスラエル の 人¿， 祭司たち， レビ びとおよびその 他の 捕囚から 歸った 人¿は， 喜んで 神のこの 宮の 奉獻式を 行った．
  2. すなわち 神のこの 宮の 奉獻式において， 雄牛一百頭， 雄羊二百頭， 小羊四百頭をささげ， また イスラエル の 部族の 數にしたがって， 雄やぎ 十二頭をささげて， すべての イスラエル びとのための 罪祭とした．
  3. また モ ― セ の 書にしるされてあるように 祭司を 組別により， レビ びとを 班別によって 立て， エルサレム で 神に 仕えさせた．
  4. こうして 捕囚から 歸って 來た 人¿は， 正月の 十四日に 過越の 祭を 行った．
  5. すなわち 祭司， レビ びとたちは 共に 身を 淸めて 皆淸くなり， すべて 捕囚から 歸って 來た 人¿のため， その 兄弟である 祭司たちのため， また 彼ら 自身のために 過越の 小羊をほふった．
  1. The sons of Israel who returned from exile and all those who had separated themselves from the impurity of the nations of the land to join them, to seek the LORD God of Israel, ate the Passover.
  2. And they observed the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy, for the LORD had caused them to rejoice, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them to encourage them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
  1. そして 捕囚から 歸って 來た イスラエル の 人¿， およびその 地の 異邦人の 汚れを 捨てて 彼らに 連なり， イスラエル の 神， 主を 拜しようとする 者はすべてこれを 食べ，
  2. 喜んで 七日の 間， 種入れぬ パン の 祭を 行った． これは 主が 彼らを 喜ばせ， また アッスリヤ の 王の 心を 彼らに 向かわせ， 彼に イスラエル の 神にいます 神の 宮の 工事を 助けさせられたからである．
