- Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
- with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
- being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
- There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
- one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

- さて， 主にある 囚人であるわたしは， あなたがたに 勸める． あなたがたが 召されたその 召しにふさわしく 步き，
- できる 限り 謙虛で， かつ 柔和であり， 寬容を 示し， 愛をもって 互に 忍びあい，
- 平和のきずなで 結ばれて， 聖靈による 一致を 守り 續けるように 努めなさい．
- からだは 一つ， 御靈も 一つである． あなたがたが 召されたのは， 一つの 望みを 目ざして 召されたのと 同樣である．
- 主は 一つ， 信仰は 一つ， バプテスマ は 一つ．

- one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.
- But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
- Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN."
- (Now this expression, "He ascended," what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?
- He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

- すべてのものの 上にあり， すべてのものを 貫き， すべてのものの 內にいます， すべてのものの 父なる 神は 一つである．
- しかし， キリスト から 賜わる 賜物のはかりに 從って， わたしたちひとりびとりに， 惠みが 與えられている．
- そこで， こう 言われている， ／「彼は 高いところに 上った 時， ／とりこを 捕えて 引き 行き， ／人¿に 賜物を 分け 與えた 」．
- さて「上った 」と 言う 以上， また 地下の 低い 底にも 降りてこられたわけではないか．
- 降りてこられた 者自身は， 同時に， あらゆるものに 滿ちるために， もろもろの 天の 上にまで 上られたかたなのである．

- And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
- for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
- until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
- As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
- but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,

- そして 彼は， ある 人を 使徒とし， ある 人を 預言者とし， ある 人を 傳道者とし， ある 人を 牧師， 敎師として， お 立てになった．
- それは， 聖徒たちをととのえて 奉仕のわざをさせ， キリスト のからだを 建てさせ，
- わたしたちすべての 者が， 神の 子を 信じる 信仰の 一致と 彼を 知る 知識の 一致とに 到達し， 全き 人となり， ついに， キリスト の 滿ちみちた 德の 高さにまで 至るためである．
- こうして， わたしたちはもはや 子供ではないので， だまし 惑わす 策略により， 人¿の 惡巧みによって 起る 樣¿な 敎の 風に 吹きまわされたり， もてあそばれたりすることがなく，
- 愛にあって 眞理を 語り， あらゆる 点において 成長し， かしらなる キリスト に 達するのである．

- from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

- また， キリスト を 基として， 全身はすべての 節¿の 助けにより， しっかりと 組み 合わされ 結び 合わされ， それぞれの 部分は 分に 應じて ¿き， からだを 成長させ， 愛のうちに 育てられていくのである．
