디모데전서 2:1-2:15

 바울은 신앙 생활에 평안을 얻고 모든 사람이 구원을 받도록 기도하되 임금과 높은 지위에 있는 사람을 위하여 하라고 권면했다. 그리고 여성도들에게는 선행으로 단장하고 정절로서 사랑과 믿음과 거룩함의 생활을 하라고 가르쳤다.
  
  중보 기도의 권면(2:1-2:8)    
 
  1. First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,
  2. for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
  3. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
  4. who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
  5. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
  1. そこで， まず 第一に 勸める． すべての 人のために， 王たちと 上に 立っているすべての 人¿のために， 願いと， 祈と， とりなしと， 感謝とをささげなさい．
  2. それはわたしたちが， 安らかで 靜かな 一生を， 眞に 信心深くまた 謹嚴に 過ごすためである．
  3. これは， わたしたちの 救主である 神のみまえに 良いことであり， また， みこころにかなうことである．
  4. 神は， すべての 人が 救われて， 眞理を 悟るに 至ることを 望んでおられる．
  5. 神は 唯一であり， 神と 人との 間の 仲保者もただひとりであって， それは 人なる キリスト · イエス である．
  1. who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.
  2. For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
  3. Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.
  1. 彼は， すべての 人のあがないとしてご 自身をささげられたが， それは， 定められた 時になされたあかしにほかならない．
  2. そのために， わたしは 立てられて 宣敎者， 使徒となり（わたしは 眞實を 言っている， 僞ってはいない ）， また 異邦人に 信仰と 眞理とを 敎える 敎師となったのである．
  3. 男は， 怒ったり 爭ったりしないで， どんな 場所でも， きよい 手をあげて 祈ってほしい．
 
  여성도들의 행동 지침(2:9-2:15)    
 
  1. Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,
  2. but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
  3. A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
  4. But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
  5. For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
  1. また， 女はつつましい 身なりをし， 適度に 愼み 深く 身を 飾るべきであって， 髮を 編んだり， 金や 眞珠をつけたり， 高價な 着物を 着たりしてはいけない．
  2. むしろ， 良いわざをもって 飾りとすることが， 信仰を 言いあらわしている 女に 似つかわしい．
  3. 女は 靜かにしていて， 万事につけ 從順に 敎を 學ぶがよい．
  4. 女が 敎えたり， 男の 上に 立ったりすることを， わたしは 許さない． むしろ， 靜かにしているべきである．
  5. なぜなら， アダム がさきに 造られ， それから エバ が 造られたからである．
  1. And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
  2. But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.
  1. また アダム は 惑わされなかったが， 女は 惑わされて， あやまちを 犯した．
  2. しかし， 女が 愼み 深く， 信仰と 愛と 淸さとを 持ち 續けるなら， 子を 産むことによって 救われるであろう．
