- Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.
- For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard.
- For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.
- For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";
- and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST."

- それだから， 神の 安息にはいるべき 約束が， まだ 存續しているにかかわらず， 万一にも， はいりそこなう 者が， あなたがたの 中から 出ることがないように， 注意しようではないか．
- というのは， 彼らと 同じく， わたしたちにも 福音が 傳えられているのである． しかし， その 聞いた 御言は， 彼らには 無益であった． それが， 聞いた 者たちに， 信仰によって 結びつけられなかったからである．
- ところが， わたしたち 信じている 者は， 安息にはいることができる． それは， ／「わたしが 怒って， ／彼らをわたしの 安息に， はいらせることはしないと， ／誓ったように 」／と 言われているとおりである． しかも， みわざは 世の 初めに， でき 上がっていた．
- すなわち， 聖書のある 箇所で， 七日目のことについて， 「神は， 七日目にすべてのわざをやめて 休まれた 」と 言われており，
- またここで， 「彼らをわたしの 安息に， はいらせることはしない 」と 言われている．

- Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,
- He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS."
- For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.
- So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
- For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

- そこで， その 安息にはいる 機會が， 人¿になお 殘されているのであり， しかも， 初めに 福音を 傳えられた 人¿は， 不從順のゆえに， はいることをしなかったのであるから，
- 神は， あらためて， ある 日を「きょう 」として 定め， 長く 時がたってから， 先に 引用したとおり， ／「きょう， み 聲を 聞いたなら， ／あなたがたの 心を， かたくなにしてはいけない 」／と ダビデ をとおして 言われたのである．
- もし ヨシュア が 彼らを 休ませていたとすれば， 神はあとになって， ほかの 日のことについて 語られたはずはない．
- こういうわけで， 安息日の 休みが， 神の 民のためにまだ 殘されているのである．
- なぜなら， 神の 安息にはいった 者は， 神がみわざをやめて 休まれたように， 自分もわざを 休んだからである．

- Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.
- For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
- And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

- したがって， わたしたちは， この 安息にはいるように 努力しようではないか． そうでないと， 同じような 不從順の 惡例にならって， 落ちて 行く 者が 出るかもしれない．
- というのは， 神の 言は 生きていて， 力があり， もろ 刃のつるぎよりも 銳くて， 精神と 靈魂と， 關節と 骨¿とを 切り 離すまでに 刺しとおして， 心の 思いと 志とを 見分けることができる．
- そして， 神のみまえには， あらわでない 被造物はひとつもなく， すべてのものは， 神の 目には 裸であり， あらわにされているのである． この 神に 對して， わたしたちは 言い 開きをしなくてはならない．
