	예레미야 51:1-51:58 바벨론에 대한 심판은 하나님의 뜻에 따라 확정된 것이었다. 바벨론의 멸망은 결국 유다의 해방을 의미하는 것이었다. 바벨론은 그들이 행한 대로 보응받게 되었다. 하나님께서는 메대를 사용해 바벨론을 심판하시겠다고 예고하셨고, 바벨론에서 포로 생활을 하고 있는 하나님의 백성들에게 구원의 소망을 잃지 않도록 권면하셨다.

	확정된 바벨론의 멸망(51:1-51:58)

Thus says the LORD: "Behold, I am going to arouse against Babylon And against the inhabitants of Leb-kamai The spirit of a destroyer.

"I will dispatch foreigners to Babylon that they may winnow her And may devastate her land; For on every side they will be opposed to her In the day of her calamity.

"Let not him who bends his bow bend it, Nor let him rise up in his scale-armor; So do not spare her young men; Devote all her army to destruction.

"They will fall down slain in the land of the Chaldeans, And pierced through in their streets."

For neither Israel nor Judah has been forsaken By his God, the LORD of hosts, Although their land is full of guilt Before the Holy One of Israel.

主はこう言われる，「見よ，わたしは，滅ぼす者の心を奮い起して，バビロンを攻め，カルデヤに住む者を攻めさせる．

わたしはバビロンに，あおぎ分ける者をつかわす．彼らは，その災の日に，四方からこれを攻め，それをあおぎ分けて，その地をむなしくする．

射手にはその弓を張らせることなく，よろいを着て立ち上がらせるな．その若き者をあわれむことなく，その軍勢をことごとく滅ぼせ．

彼らはカルデヤびとの地に殺されて倒れ，そのちまたに傷ついて倒れる．

イスラエルとユダは／その神，万軍の主に捨てられてはいないが，しかしカルデヤびとの地には／イスラエルの聖者に向かって犯した罪が／滿ちている．

Flee from the midst of Babylon, And each of you save his life! Do not be destroyed in her punishment, For this is the LORD'S time of vengeance; He is going to render recompense to her.

Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of the LORD, Intoxicating all the earth The nations have drunk of her wine; Therefore the nations are going mad.

Suddenly Babylon has fallen and been broken; Wail over her! Bring balm for her pain; Perhaps she may be healed.

We applied healing to Babylon, but she was not healed; Forsake her and let us each go to his own country, For her judgment has reached to heaven And towers up to the very skies.

The LORD has brought about our vindication; Come and let us recount in Zion The work of the LORD our God!

バビロンのうちからのがれ出て，おのおのその命を救え．その罰にまきこまれて斷ち滅ぼされてはならない．今は主があだを返される時だから，それに報復をされるのである．

バビロンは主の手のうちにある金の杯であって，すべての地を醉わせた．國¿はその酒を飮んだので，國¿は狂った．

バビロンはたちまち倒れて破れた．これがために嘆け．その傷のために乳香を取れ．あるいは，いえるかも知れない．

われわれはバビロンをいやそうとしたが，これはいえなかった．われわれはこれを捨てて，おのおの自分の國に歸ろう．その罰が天に達し，雲にまで及んでいるからだ．

主はわれわれの正しいことを明らかにされた．さあ，われわれはシオンで，われわれの神，主のみわざを告げ示そう．

Sharpen the arrows, fill the quivers! The LORD has aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, Because His purpose is against Babylon to destroy it; For it is the vengeance of the LORD, vengeance for His temple.

Lift up a signal against the walls of Babylon; Post a strong guard, Station sentries, Place men in ambush! For the LORD has both purposed and performed What He spoke concerning the inhabitants of Babylon.

O you who dwell by many waters, Abundant in treasures, Your end has come, The measure of your end.

The LORD of hosts has sworn by Himself: "Surely I will fill you with a population like locusts, And they will cry out with shouts of victory over you."

It is He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom, And by His understanding He stretched out the heavens.

矢をとぎ，盾を取れ．主はメデアびとの王たちの心を引き立てられる．主のバビロンに思い圖ることは，これを滅ぼすことであり，主があだを返し，その宮のあだを返されるのである．

バビロンの城壁に向かって旗を立て，見張りを强固にし，番兵を置き，伏兵を備えよ．主がバビロンに住む者を攻めようと圖り，その言われたことを，いま行われるからだ．

多くの水のほとりに住み，多くの財寶を持つ者よ，あなたの終りが來て，その命の絲は斷たれる．

万軍の主はみずからをさして誓い，言われる，わたしは必ずあなたのうちに，人をいなごのように滿たす．彼らはあなたに向かって，かちどきの聲をあげる．

主はその力をもって地を造り，その知惠をもって世界を建て，その悟りをもって天をのべられた．

When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain And brings forth the wind from His storehouses.

All mankind is stupid, devoid of knowledge; Every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols, For his molten images are deceitful, And there is no breath in them.

They are worthless, a work of mockery; In the time of their punishment they will perish.

The portion of Jacob is not like these; For the Maker of all is He, And of the tribe of His inheritance; The LORD of hosts is His name.

He says, "You are My war-club, My weapon of war; And with you I shatter nations, And with you I destroy kingdoms.

彼が聲を出されると，天に多くの水のざわめきがあり，また地の果から霧を立ちあがらせられる．彼は雨のためにいなびかりをおこし，その倉から風を取り出される．

すべての人は愚かで知惠がなく，すべての金細工人は／その造った偶像のために恥をこうむる．その偶像は僞り物で，そのうちに息がないからだ．

それらは，むなしいもの，迷いのわざである．罰せられる時になれば滅びるものである．

ヤコブの分である彼はこのようなものではない，彼は万物の造り主だからである．イスラエルは彼の嗣業としての部族である．彼の名は万軍の主という．

おまえはわたしの鎚であり，戰いの武器である．わたしはおまえをもってすべての國を ¿き，おまえをもって万國を滅ぼす．

"With you I shatter the horse and his rider, And with you I shatter the chariot and its rider,

And with you I shatter man and woman, And with you I shatter old man and youth, And with you I shatter young man and virgin,

And with you I shatter the shepherd and his flock, And with you I shatter the farmer and his team, And with you I shatter governors and prefects.

"But I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for all their evil that they have done in Zion before your eyes," declares the LORD.

"Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, Who destroys the whole earth," declares the LORD, "And I will stretch out My hand against you, And roll you down from the crags, And I will make you a burnt out mountain.

おまえをもってわたしは馬と，その騎手とを ¿き，おまえをもって戰車とそれに乘る者とを ¿く．

わたしはおまえをもって男と女とを ¿き，おまえをもって老いた者と幼い者とを ¿き，おまえをもって若い者と，おとめとを ¿く．

わたしはおまえをもって，羊飼と，その群れとを ¿き，おまえをもって農夫と，くびきを負う家畜とを ¿き，おまえをもっておさたちと，つかさたちとを ¿く．

わたしはバビロンとカルデヤに住むすべての者とに，彼らがシオンで行ったもろもろの惡しき事のために，あなたがたの目の前で報いをすると，主は言われる．

主は言われる，全地を滅ぼし盡す滅ぼしの山よ，見よ，わたしはおまえの敵となる，わたしは手をおまえの上に伸べて，おまえを岩からころばし，おまえを燒け山にする．

"They will not take from you even a stone for a corner Nor a stone for foundations, But you will be desolate forever," declares the LORD.

Lift up a signal in the land, Blow a trumpet among the nations! Consecrate the nations against her, Summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni and Ashkenaz; Appoint a marshal against her, Bring up the horses like bristly locusts.

Consecrate the nations against her, The kings of the Medes, Their governors and all their prefects, And every land of their dominion.

So the land quakes and writhes, For the purposes of the LORD against Babylon stand, To make the land of Babylon A desolation without inhabitants.

The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting, They stay in the strongholds; Their strength is exhausted, They are becoming like women; Their dwelling places are set on fire, The bars of her gates are broken.

主は言われる，人がおまえから石を取って，隅の石とすることなく，また礎とすることもない．おまえはいつまでも荒れ地となっている．

地に旗を立て，國¿のうちにラッパを吹き，國¿の民を集めてそれを攻め，アララテ，ミンニ，アシケナズの國¿をまねいて／それを攻め，軍の長を立ててそれを攻め，群がるいなごのように馬を上り行かせよ．

國¿の民を集めてそれを攻め，メデアびとの王たちと，そのおさたち，つかさたち，およびすべての領地の人¿を集めてこれを攻めよ．

その地は震い，かつもだえ苦しむ，主がその思い圖ることをバビロンにおこない，バビロンの地を，住む人なき荒れ地とされるからだ．

バビロンの勇士たちは戰いをやめて，その城にこもり，力はうせて，女のようになる．その家は燒け，その貫の木は ¿かれる．

One courier runs to meet another, And one messenger to meet another, To tell the king of Babylon That his city has been captured from end to end;

The fords also have been seized, And they have burned the marshes with fire, And the men of war are terrified.

For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: "The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor At the time it is stamped firm; Yet in a little while the time of harvest will come for her."

"Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has devoured me and crushed me, He has set me down like an empty vessel; He has swallowed me like a monster, He has filled his stomach with my delicacies; He has washed me away.

"May the violence done to me and to my flesh be upon Babylon," The inhabitant of Zion will say; And, "May my blood be upon the inhabitants of Chaldea," Jerusalem will say.

飛脚は走って飛脚に會い，使者は走って使者に會い，バビロンの王に告げて，町はことごとく取られ，

渡し場は奪われ，とりでは火で燒かれ，兵士はおびえていると言う．

万軍の主，イスラエルの神はこう言われる，バビロンの娘は，打ち場のようだ，その踏まれる時が來たのだ．しばらくしてその刈り取られる時が來る」．

「バビロンの王ネブカデレザルはわたしを食い盡し，わたしを滅ぼし，わたしを，からの器のようにし，龍のようにわたしを飮み，わたしのうまい物でその腹を滿たし，わたしを洗いざらいにした．

わたしとわたしの肉親におこなった暴虐は，バビロンにふりかかる」と／シオンに住む者は言わなければならない．「わたしの血はカルデヤに住む者にふりかかる」と／エルサレムは言わなければならない．

Therefore thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am going to plead your case And exact full vengeance for you; And I will dry up her sea And make her fountain dry.

"Babylon will become a heap of ruins, a haunt of jackals, An object of horror and hissing, without inhabitants.

"They will roar together like young lions, They will growl like lions' cubs.

"When they become heated up, I will serve them their banquet And make them drunk, that they may become jubilant And may sleep a perpetual sleep And not wake up," declares the LORD.

"I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, Like rams together with male goats.

それゆえ主はこう言われる，「見よ，わたしはあなたの訴えをただし，あなたのためにあだを返す．わたしはバビロンの海をかわかし，その泉をかわかす．

バビロンは荒塚となり，山犬のすまいとなり，驚きとなり，笑いとなり，住む人のない所となる．

彼らはししのように共にほえ，若いししのようにほえる．

彼らの欲の燃えている時，わたしは宴を設けて彼らを醉わせ，彼らがついに氣を失って，ながい眠りにいり，もはや目をさますことのないようにしようと／主は言われる．

わたしは彼らを小羊のように，また雄羊や雄やぎのように，ほふり場に下らせよう．

"How Sheshak has been captured, And the praise of the whole earth been seized! How Babylon has become an object of horror among the nations!

"The sea has come up over Babylon; She has been engulfed with its tumultuous waves.

"Her cities have become an object of horror, A parched land and a desert, A land in which no man lives And through which no son of man passes.

"I will punish Bel in Babylon, And I will make what he has swallowed come out of his mouth; And the nations will no longer stream to him Even the wall of Babylon has fallen down!

"Come forth from her midst, My people, And each of you save yourselves From the fierce anger of the LORD.

ああ，バビロンはついに取られた，全地の人の，ほめたたえた者は捕えられた．ああ，バビロンはついに國¿のうちに驚きとなった．

海はバビロンにあふれかかり，どよめく波におおわれた．

その町¿は荒れて，かわいた地となり，砂原となり，住む人のない地となる．人の子はひとりとしてそこを過ぎることはない．

わたしはバビロンでベルを罰し，そののみこんだものを口から取り出す．國¿が川のように彼に流れ入ることはなくなる．バビロンの城壁は倒れた．

わが民よ，あなたがたはその中から出て，おのおの主の激しい怒りを免れ，その命を救え．

"Now so that your heart does not grow faint, And you are not afraid at the report that will be heard in the land-- For the report will come one year, And after that another report in another year, And violence will be in the land With ruler against ruler--

Therefore behold, days are coming When I will punish the idols of Babylon; And her whole land will be put to shame And all her slain will fall in her midst.

"Then heaven and earth and all that is in them Will shout for joy over Babylon, For the destroyers will come to her from the north," Declares the LORD.

Indeed Babylon is to fall for the slain of Israel, As also for Babylon the slain of all the earth have fallen.

You who have escaped the sword, Depart! Do not stay! Remember the LORD from afar, And let Jerusalem come to your mind.

心を弱くしてはならない，この地で聞くうわさを恐れてはならない．うわさはこの年にもくれば，また次の年にもくる．この地に暴虐があり，つかさとつかさとが攻めあうことがある．

それゆえ見よ，わたしがバビロンの偶像を罰する日が來る．その全地ははずかしめられ，その殺される者はみなその中に倒れる．

天と地とそのうちにあるすべてのものは／バビロンの事で喜び歌う．滅ぼす者が北の方からここに來るからであると／主は言われる．

イスラエルの殺された者たちのために，バビロンは倒れなければならない，バビロンのために全地の殺された者は倒れたのだ．

つるぎをのがれてきたあなたがたは，行け，立ちとどまってはならない．遠くから主を覺え，エルサレムを心にとめよ．

We are ashamed because we have heard reproach; Disgrace has covered our faces, For aliens have entered The holy places of the LORD'S house.

"Therefore behold, the days are coming," declares the LORD, "When I will punish her idols, And the mortally wounded will groan throughout her land.

"Though Babylon should ascend to the heavens, And though she should fortify her lofty stronghold, From Me destroyers will come to her," declares the LORD.

The sound of an outcry from Babylon, And of great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans!

For the LORD is going to destroy Babylon, And He will make her loud noise vanish from her. And their waves will roar like many waters; The tumult of their voices sounds forth.

『われわれはののしりを聞いたので，恥じている．異邦人が主の宮の聖所にはいったので，恥がわれわれの顔をおおった』．

主は言われる，それゆえ見よ，わたしがその偶像を罰する日が來る，傷つけられた者が，その全國にうめくようになる．

たといバビロンが天に上っても，その城を高くして固めても，滅ぼす者はわたしから出て，これに臨むと主は言われる．

聞け，バビロンの叫びを，カルデヤびとの地に起る大いなる滅びの ¿ぎ聲を．

主がバビロンを滅ぼし，その大いなる聲を絶やされるのだ．その波は大水のように鳴りとどろき，その聲はひびき渡る．

For the destroyer is coming against her, against Babylon, And her mighty men will be captured, Their bows are shattered; For the LORD is a God of recompense, He will fully repay.

"I will make her princes and her wise men drunk, Her governors, her prefects and her mighty men, That they may sleep a perpetual sleep and not wake up," Declares the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

Thus says the LORD of hosts, "The broad wall of Babylon will be completely razed And her high gates will be set on fire; So the peoples will toil for nothing, And the nations become exhausted only for fire."

滅ぼす者がこれに臨み，バビロンに來た．その勇士たちは捕えられ，その弓は折られる．主は報いをする神であるから必ず報いられるのだ．

わたしはその君たちと知者たち，おさたち，つかさたち，および勇士たちを醉わせる．彼らは，ながい眠りにいり，目をさますことはない．万軍の主と呼ばれる王がこれを言わせる．

万軍の主はこう言われる，バビロンの廣い城壁は地にくずされ，その高い門は火に燒かれる．こうして民の勞苦はむなしくなり，國民はただ火のために疲れる」．
