	에스겔 14:1-16:22 하나님께서는 우상을 섬기는 장로들을 책망하셨고, 어떤 의인도 예루살렘의 심판에서 백성들을 구원할 수 없다고 말씀하셨다. 또한 이스라엘 백성을 열매 맺지 못하는 포도나무와 음란한 여인에 비유하여 그들이 심판을 피할 수 없음을 지적하셨다.

	우상 숭배자의 죄(14:1-14:23)

Then some elders of Israel came to me and sat down before me.

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

"Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts and have put right before their faces the stumbling block of their iniquity Should I be consulted by them at all?

"Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Any man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet, I the LORD will be brought to give him an answer in the matter in view of the multitude of his idols,

in order to lay hold of the hearts of the house of Israel who are estranged from Me through all their idols."'

ここにイスラエルの長老のうちのある人¿が，わたしの所に來て，わたしの前に座した．

時に主の言葉が，わたしに臨んだ，

「人の子よ，これらの人¿は，その偶像を心の中に持ち，罪に落しいれるところのつまずきを，その顔の前に置いている．わたしはどうして彼らの願いをいれることができようか．

それゆえ彼らに告げて言え，主なる神は，こう言われる，イスラエルの家の人¿で，その偶像を心の中に持ち，その顔の前に罪に落しいれるところのつまずくものを置きながら，預言者のもとに來る者には，その多くの偶像のゆえに，主なるわたしは，みずからこれに答をする．

これはその偶像のために，すべてわたしを離れたイスラエルの家の心を，わたしが捕えるためである．

"Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Repent and turn away from your idols and turn your faces away from all your abominations.

"For anyone of the house of Israel or of the immigrants who stay in Israel who separates himself from Me, sets up his idols in his heart, puts right before his face the stumbling block of his iniquity, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me for himself, I the LORD will be brought to answer him in My own person.

"I will set My face against that man and make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from among My people. So you will know that I am the LORD.

"But if the prophet is prevailed upon to speak a word, it is I, the LORD, who have prevailed upon that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.

"They will bear the punishment of their iniquity; as the iniquity of the inquirer is, so the iniquity of the prophet will be,

それゆえイスラエルの家に言え，主なる神はこう言われる，あなたがたは悔いて，あなたがたの偶像を捨てよ．あなたがたの顔を，そのすべての憎むべきものからそむけよ．

イスラエルの家の者およびイスラエルに宿る外國人のだれでも，わたしから離れ，その心に偶像を持ち，その顔の前に罪に落しいれるところのつまずきを置きながら，預言者に來て，心のままにわたしに求めるときは，主であるわたしは，みずからこれに答をする．

わたしはわたしの顔を，その人に向け，彼を，しるし，およびことわざとなし，これをわが民のうちから斷ち滅ぼす．その時，あなたがたはわたしが主であることを知るようになる．

もし預言者が欺かれて言葉を出すことがあれば，それは主であるわたしが，その預言者を欺いたのである．わたしは手を彼の上に伸べ，わが民イスラエルのうちから彼を滅ぼす．

in order that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me and no longer defile themselves with all their transgressions Thus they will be My people, and I shall be their God,"' declares the Lord GOD."

Then the word of the LORD came to me saying,

"Son of man, if a country sins against Me by committing unfaithfulness, and I stretch out My hand against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine against it and cut off from it both man and beast,

even though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, by their own righteousness they could only deliver themselves," declares the Lord GOD.

"If I were to cause wild beasts to pass through the land and they depopulated it, and it became desolate so that no one would pass through it because of the beasts,

これはイスラエルの家が，重ねてわたしを離れて迷わず，重ねてそのもろもろのとがによって，おのれを汚さないため，また彼らがわが民となり，わたしが彼らの神となるためであると，主なる神は言われる」．

主の言葉が，またわたしに臨んだ，

「人の子よ，もし國がわたしに，もとりそむいて罪を犯し，わたしがその上に手を伸べて，そのつえとたのむパンを ¿き，これにききんを送り，人と ¿とをそのうちから斷つ時，

たといそこにノア，ダニエル，ヨブの三人がいても，彼らはその義によって，ただ自分の命を救いうるのみであると，主なる神は言われる．

もしわたしが野の ¿にこの地を通らせ，これを荒させ，これを荒れ地となし，その ¿のためにそこを通る者がないようにしたなら，

though these three men were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters. They alone would be delivered, but the country would be desolate.

"Or if I should bring a sword on that country and say, 'Let the sword pass through the country and cut off man and beast from it,'

even though these three men were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their sons or their daughters, but they alone would be delivered.

"Or if I should send a plague against that country and pour out My wrath in blood on it to cut off man and beast from it,

even though Noah, Daniel and Job were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness."

主なる神は言われる，わたしは生きている，たといこれら三人の者がその中にいても，そのむすこ娘を救うことはできない．ただ自分自身を救いうるのみで，その地は荒れ地となる．

あるいは，わたしがもし，つるぎをその地に臨ませ，つるぎよ，この地を行きめぐれと言って，人と ¿とをそこから斷つならば，

主なる神は言われる，わたしは生きている，たといこれら三人の者がその中にいても，そのむすこ娘を救うことはできない．ただ自分自身を救いうるのみである．

あるいは，わたしがもし，この地に疫病を送り，血をもってわが憤りをその上に注ぎ，人と ¿とをそこから斷つならば，

主なる神は言われる，わたしは生きている，たといノア，ダニエル，ヨブがそこにいても，彼らはそのむすこ娘を救うことができない．ただその義によって自分の命を救いうるのみである．

For thus says the Lord GOD, "How much more when I send My four severe judgments against Jerusalem: sword, famine, wild beasts and plague to cut off man and beast from it!

"Yet, behold, survivors will be left in it who will be brought out, both sons and daughters. Behold, they are going to come forth to you and you will see their conduct and actions; then you will be comforted for the calamity which I have brought against Jerusalem for everything which I have brought upon it.

"Then they will comfort you when you see their conduct and actions, for you will know that I have not done in vain whatever I did to it," declares the Lord GOD.

主なる神はこう言われる，わたしが人と ¿とを地から斷つために，つるぎと，ききんと，惡しき ¿と，疫病との四つのきびしい罰をエルサレムに送る時はどうであろうか．

しかし，もしそれがあなたがたに來るとき，むすこ娘たちを助け出す者が，その中に殘っていて，あなたがたがその行いと，わざとを見るならば，わたしがエルサレムの上に與えたすべての災について慰められるであろう．

すなわち，あなたがたが，その行いと，わざとを見る時，彼らはあなたがたを慰め，あなたがたはわたしがこれに行った事は，すべてゆえなくしたのではないことを知るようになると，主なる神は言われる」．

	열매 없는 포도나무 비유(15:1-15:8)

Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

"Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

"Can wood be taken from it to make anything, or can men take a peg from it on which to hang any vessel?

"If it has been put into the fire for fuel, and the fire has consumed both of its ends and its middle part has been charred, is it then useful for anything?

"Behold, while it is intact, it is not made into anything. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it still be made into anything!

主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ，

「人の子よ，ぶどうの木，森の木のうちにあるぶどうの枝は，ほかの木になんのまさる所があるか．

その木は何かを造るために用いられるか．また人はこれを用いて，器物を掛ける木釘を造るだろうか．

見よ，これは火に投げ入れられて燃える．火がその兩端を燒いたとき，またその中ほどがこげたとき，それはなんの役に立つだろうか．

見よ，これは完全な時でも，なんの用をもなさない．まして火がこれを燒き，これをこがした時には，なんの役に立つだろうか．

"Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, 'As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

and I set My face against them Though they have come out of the fire, yet the fire will consume them. Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I set My face against them.

'Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have acted unfaithfully,'" declares the Lord GOD.

それゆえ主なる神はこう言われる，わたしが森の木の中のぶどうの木を，火に投げ入れて燒くように，エルサレムの住民をそのようにする．

わたしはわたしの顔を彼らに向けて攻める．彼らがその火からのがれても，火は彼らを燒き盡す．わたしが顔を彼らに向けて攻める時，あなたがたはわたしが主であることを知る．

Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

"Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations

and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem, "Your origin and your birth are from the land of the Canaanite, your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

"As for your birth, on the day you were born your navel cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water for cleansing; you were not rubbed with salt or even wrapped in cloths.

"No eye looked with pity on you to do any of these things for you, to have compassion on you. Rather you were thrown out into the open field, for you were abhorred on the day you were born.

主の言葉が再びわたしに臨んだ，

「人の子よ，エルサレムにその憎むべき事どもを示して，

言え．主なる神はエルサレムにこう言われる，あなたの起り，あなたの生れはカナンびとの地である．あなたの父はアモリびと，あなたの母はヘテびとである．

あなたの生れについていえば，その生れた日に，へその緖は切られず，水で洗い淸められず，鹽でこすられず，また布で包まれなかった．

ひとりもあなたをあわれみ見る者なく，情をもってこれらのことの一つをも，あなたにしてやる者もなく，あなたの生れた日に，あなたはきらわれて，野原に捨てられた．

"When I passed by you and saw you squirming in your blood, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!' Yes, I said to you while you were in your blood, 'Live!'

"I made you numerous like plants of the field. Then you grew up, became tall and reached the age for fine ornaments; your breasts were formed and your hair had grown. Yet you were naked and bare.

"Then I passed by you and saw you, and behold, you were at the time for love; so I spread My skirt over you and covered your nakedness I also swore to you and entered into a covenant with you so that you became Mine," declares the Lord GOD.

"Then I bathed you with water, washed off your blood from you and anointed you with oil.

"I also clothed you with embroidered cloth and put sandals of porpoise skin on your feet; and I wrapped you with fine linen and covered you with silk.

わたしはあなたのかたわらを通り，あなたが血の中にころがりまわっているのを見た時，わたしは血の中にいるあなたに言った，『生きよ，

野の木のように育て』と．すなわちあなたは成長して大きくなり，一人前の女になり，その乳ぶさは形が整い，髮は長くなったが，着物がなく，裸であった．

わたしは再びあなたのかたわらをとおって，あなたを見たが，見よ，あなたは愛せられる年齡に達していたので，わたしは着物のすそであなたをおおい，あなたの裸をかくし，そしてあなたに誓い，あなたと契約を結んだ．そしてあなたはわたしのものとなったと，主なる神は言われる．

"I adorned you with ornaments, put bracelets on your hands and a necklace around your neck.

"I also put a ring in your nostril, earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.

"Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your dress was of fine linen, silk and embroidered cloth You ate fine flour, honey and oil; so you were exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty.

"Then your fame went forth among the nations on account of your beauty, for it was perfect because of My splendor which I bestowed on you," declares the Lord GOD.

"But you trusted in your beauty and played the harlot because of your fame, and you poured out your harlotries on every passer-by who might be willing.

また飾り物であなたを飾り，腕輪をあなたの手にはめ，鎖をあなたの首にかけ，

鼻には鼻輪，耳には耳輪，頭には美しい冠を與えた．

このようにあなたは金銀で飾られ，細布，絹，縫い取りの服をあなたの衣とし，麥粉と，蜜と，油とを食べた．あなたは非常に美しくなって王の地位に進み，

あなたの美しさのために，あなたの名聲は國¿に廣まった．これはわたしが，あなたに施した飾りによって全うされたからであると，主なる神は言われる．

ところが，あなたは自分の美しさをたのみ，自分の名聲によって姦淫を行い，すべてかたわらを通る者と，ほしいままに姦淫を行った．

"You took some of your clothes, made for yourself high places of various colors and played the harlot on them, which should never come about nor happen.

"You also took your beautiful jewels made of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself male images that you might play the harlot with them.

"Then you took your embroidered cloth and covered them, and offered My oil and My incense before them.

"Also My bread which I gave you, fine flour, oil and honey with which I fed you, you would offer before them for a soothing aroma; so it happened," declares the Lord GOD.

"Moreover, you took your sons and daughters whom you had borne to Me and sacrificed them to idols to be devoured. Were your harlotries so small a matter?

あなたは自分の衣をとって，自分のために，はなやかに色どった聖所を造り，その上で姦淫を行っている．こんなことはかつてなかったこと，またあってはならないことである．

あなたはわたしが與えた金銀の美しい飾りの品をとり，自分のために男の像を造って，これと姦淫を行った．

また縫い取りのある自分の衣をとって彼らに着せ，わたしの油と香とをその前に供え，

またわたしがあなたに與えたパン，わたしがあなたを養うための麥粉，油および蜜を，こうばしきかおりとして彼らの前に供えたと，主なる神は言われる．

"You slaughtered My children and offered them up to idols by causing them to pass through the fire.

"Besides all your abominations and harlotries you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare and squirming in your blood.

あなたがそのすべての憎むべきことや姦淫を行うに當って，あなたが衣もなく，裸で，血の中にころがりまわっていた自分の若き日のことを思わなかった．
