야고보서 1:19-2:13

 야고보는 말을 삼가할 것과 하나님의 말씀을 듣는 자가 실천해야 할 것을 권면하면서, 행동의 구체적인 내용으로 과부와 고아를 구제하고 모든 사람을 차별 없이 대할 것을 가르쳤다.
  
  말씀을 행하는 자(1:19-1:27)    
 
  1. This you know, my beloved brethren But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;
  2. for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
  3. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
  4. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
  5. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;
  1. 愛する 兄弟たちよ． このことを 知っておきなさい． 人はすべて， 聞くに 早く， 語るにおそく， 怒るにおそくあるべきである．
  2. 人の 怒りは， 神の 義を 全うするものではないからである．
  3. だから， すべての 汚れや， はなはだしい 惡を 捨て 去って， 心に 植えつけられている 御言を， すなおに 受け 入れなさい． 御言には， あなたがたのたましいを 救う 力がある．
  4. そして， 御言を 行う 人になりなさい． おのれを 欺いて， ただ 聞くだけの 者となってはいけない．
  5. おおよそ 御言を 聞くだけで 行わない 人は， ちょうど， 自分の 生れつきの 顔を 鏡に 映して 見る 人のようである．
  1. for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.
  2. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.
  3. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.
  4. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
  1. 彼は 自分を 映して 見てそこから 立ち 去ると， そのとたんに， 自分の 姿がどんなであったかを 忘れてしまう．
  2. これに 反して， 完全な 自由の 律法を 一心に 見つめてたゆまない 人は， 聞いて 忘れてしまう 人ではなくて， 實際に 行う 人である． こういう 人は， その 行いによって 祝福される．
  3. もし 人が 信心深い 者だと 自任しながら， 舌を 制することをせず， 自分の 心を 欺いているならば， その 人の 信心はむなしいものである．
  4. 父なる 神のみまえに 淸く 汚れのない 信心とは， 困っている 孤兒や， やもめを 見舞い， 自らは 世の 汚れに 染まずに， 身を 淸く 保つことにほかならない．
 
  형제에 대한 바른 태도(2:1-2:13)    
 
  1. My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.
  2. For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes,
  3. and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, "You sit here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,"
  4. have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?
  5. Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
  1. わたしの 兄弟たちよ． わたしたちの 榮光の 主 イエス · キリスト への 信仰を 守るのに， 分け 隔てをしてはならない．
  2. たとえば， あなたがたの 會堂に， 金の 指輪をはめ， りっぱな 着物を 着た 人がはいって 來ると 同時に， みすぼらしい 着物を 着た 貧しい 人がはいってきたとする．
  3. その 際， りっぱな 着物を 着た 人に 對しては， うやうやしく「どうぞ， こちらの 良い 席にお 掛け 下さい 」と 言い， 貧しい 人には， 「あなたは， そこに 立っていなさい． それとも， わたしの 足もとにすわっているがよい 」と 言ったとしたら，
  4. あなたがたは， 自分たちの 間で 差別立てをし， よからぬ 考えで 人をさばく 者になったわけではないか．
  5. 愛する 兄弟たちよ． よく 聞きなさい． 神は， この 世の 貧しい 人たちを 選んで 信仰に 富ませ， 神を 愛する 者たちに 約束された 御國の 相續者とされたではないか．
  1. But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court?
  2. Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called?
  3. If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well.
  4. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
  5. For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
  1. しかるに， あなたがたは 貧しい 人をはずかしめたのである． あなたがたをしいたげ， 裁判所に 引きずり ¿むのは， 富んでいる 者たちではないか．
  2. あなたがたに 對して 唱えられた 尊い 御名を 汚すのは， 實に 彼らではないか．
  3. しかし， もしあなたがたが， 「自分を 愛するように， あなたの 隣り 人を 愛せよ 」という 聖書の 言葉に 從って， このきわめて 尊い 律法を 守るならば， それは 良いことである．
  4. しかし， もし 分け 隔てをするならば， あなたがたは 罪を 犯すことになり， 律法によって 違反者として 宣告される．
  5. なぜなら， 律法をことごとく 守ったとしても， その 一つの 点にでも 落ち 度があれば， 全體を 犯したことになるからである．
  1. For He who said, "DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY," also said, "DO NOT COMMIT MURDER." Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
  2. So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.
  3. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.
  1. たとえば， 「姦淫するな 」と 言われたかたは， また「殺すな 」とも 仰せになった． そこで， たとい 姦淫はしなくても， 人殺しをすれば， 律法の 違反者になったことになる．
  2. だから， 自由の 律法によってさばかるべき 者らしく 語り， かつ 行いなさい．
  3. あわれみを 行わなかった 者に 對しては， 假借のないさばきが 下される． あわれみは， さばきにうち 勝つ．
