다니엘 4:19-5:31

 다니엘은 느부갓네살 왕의 두번째 꿈을 해석해 주었고, 그 해석대로 왕은 일곱 때 동안 왕위에서 쫓겨났다가 하나님의 주권을 깨달은 후 다시 왕위를 되찾았다. 이에 느부갓네살 왕은 하나님을 찬양하고 조서를 통해 하나님께 대한 신앙 고백을 하였다. 훗날 바벨론의 왕이 된 벨사살은 잔치를 벌이고 야웨의 성전 기명으로 술을 마시다가 손가락이 나타나 벽에 글자를 쓰는 것을 보고 놀라 다니엘을 불러 그 글자를 해석하게 했는데,그 해석대로 벨사살은 그날 밤에 죽임을 당하고 메대 사람 다리오가 통치하게 되었다.
  
  꿈 해석(4:19-4:37)    
 
  1. "Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him The king responded and said, 'Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you ' Belteshazzar replied, 'My lord, if only the dream applied to those who hate you and its interpretation to your adversaries!
  2. 'The tree that you saw, which became large and grew strong, whose height reached to the sky and was visible to all the earth
  3. and whose foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in which was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt and in whose branches the birds of the sky lodged--
  4. it is you, O king; for you have become great and grown strong, and your majesty has become great and reached to the sky and your dominion to the end of the earth.
  5. 'In that the king saw an angelic watcher, a holy one, descending from heaven and saying, "Chop down the tree and destroy it; yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, but with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of the field, and let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him share with the beasts of the field until seven periods of time pass over him,"

  5. ところが， 王はひとりの 警護者， ひとりの 聖者が， 天から 下って， こう 言うのを 見られました， 『この 木を 切り 倒して， これを 滅ぼせ． ただしその 根の 切り 株を 地に 殘し， それに 鐵と 靑銅のなわをかけて， 野の 若草の 中におき， 天からくだる 露にぬれさせ， また 野の ¿と 共にその 分にあずからせて， 七つの 時を 過ごさせよ 』と．
  1. this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king:
  2. that you be driven away from mankind and your dwelling place be with the beasts of the field, and you be given grass to eat like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.
  3. 'And in that it was commanded to leave the stump with the roots of the tree, your kingdom will be assured to you after you recognize that it is Heaven that rules.
  4. 'Therefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: break away now from your sins by doing righteousness and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.'
  5. "All this happened to Nebuchadnezzar the king.
  1. 王よ， その 解き 明かしはこうです． すなわちこれはいと 高� ォ 者の 命令であって， わが 主なる 王に 臨まんとするものです．
  2. すなわちあなたは 追われて 世の 人を 離れ， 野の ¿と 共におり， 牛のように 草を 食い， 天からくだる 露にぬれるでしょう． こうして 七つの 時が 過ぎて， ついにあなたは， いと 高き 者が 人間の 國を 治めて， 自分の 意のままに， これを 人に 與えられることを 知るに 至るでしょう．
  3. また 彼らはその 木の 根の 切り 株を 殘しおけと 命じたので， あなたが， 天はまことの 支配者であるということを 知った 後， あなたの 國はあなたに 確保されるでしょう．

  1. "Twelve months later he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon.
  2. "The king reflected and said, 'Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?'
  3. "While the word was in the king's mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying, 'King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you,
  4. and you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.'
  5. "Immediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair had grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws.
  1. 十二か 月を 經て 後， 王が バビロン の 王宮の 屋上を 步いていたとき，
  2. 王は 自ら 言った， 「この 大いなる バビロン は， わたしの 大いなる 力をもって 建てた 王城であって， わが 威光を 輝かすものではないか 」．
  3. その 言葉がなお 王の 口にあるうちに， 天から 聲がくだって 言った， 「ネブカデネザル 王よ， あなたに 告げる． 國はあなたを 離れ 去った．
  4. あなたは， 追われて 世の 人を 離れ， 野の ¿と 共におり， 牛のように 草を 食い， こうして 七つの 時を 經て， ついにあなたは， いと 高き 者が 人間の 國を 治めて， 自分の 意のままに， これを 人に 與えられることを 知るに 至るだろう 」．
  5. この 言葉は， ただちに ネブカデネザル に 成就した． 彼は 追われて 世の 人を 離れ， 牛のように 草を 食い， その 身は 天からくだる 露にぬれ， ついにその 毛は， わしの 羽のようになり， そのつめは 鳥のつめのようになった．
  1. "But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.
  2. "All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, 'What have You done?'
  3. "At that time my reason returned to me And my majesty and splendor were restored to me for the glory of my kingdom, and my counselors and my nobles began seeking me out; so I was reestablished in my sovereignty, and surpassing greatness was added to me.
  4. "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride."
  1. こうしてその 期間が 滿ちた 後， われ ネブカデネザル は， 目をあげて 天を 仰ぎ 見ると， わたしの 理性が 自分に 歸ったので， わたしはいと 高き 者をほめ， その 永遠に 生ける 者をさんびし， かつあがめた． その 主權は 永遠の 主權， その 國は 世¿かぎりなく，
  2. 地に 住む 民はすべて 無き 者のように 思われ， 天の 衆群にも， 地に 住む 民にも， 彼はその 意のままに 事を 行われる． だれも 彼の 手をおさえて ／「あなたは 何をするのか 」と 言いうる 者はない．
  3. この 時わたしの 理性は 自分に 歸り， またわが 國の 光榮のために， わが 尊嚴と 光輝とが， わたしに 歸った． わが 大臣， わが 貴族らもきて， わたしに 求め， わたしは 國の 上に 堅く 立って， 前にもまさって 大いなる 者となった．
  4. そこでわれ ネブカデネザル は 今， 天の 王をほめたたえ， かつあがめたてまつる． そのみわざはことごとく 眞實で， その 道は 正しく， 高ぶり 步む 者を 低くされる．
 
  벨사살 왕의 잔치(5:1-5:31)    
 
  1. Belshazzar the king held a great feast for a thousand of his nobles, and he was drinking wine in the presence of the thousand.
  2. When Belshazzar tasted the wine, he gave orders to bring the gold and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem, so that the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines might drink from them.
  3. Then they brought the gold vessels that had been taken out of the temple, the house of God which was in Jerusalem; and the king and his nobles, his wives and his concubines drank from them.
  4. They drank the wine and praised the gods of gold and silver, of bronze, iron, wood and stone.
  5. Suddenly the fingers of a man's hand emerged and began writing opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace, and the king saw the back of the hand that did the writing.
  1. ベルシャザル 王は， その 大臣一千人のために， 盛んな 酒宴を 設け， その 一千人の 前で 酒を 飮んでいた．
  2. 酒が 進んだとき， ベルシャザル は， その 父 ネブカデネザル が エルサレム の 神殿から 取ってきた 金銀の 器を 持ってこいと 命じた． 王とその 大臣たち， および 王の 妻とそばめらが， これをもって 酒を 飮むためであった．

  1. Then the king's face grew pale and his thoughts alarmed him, and his hip joints went slack and his knees began knocking together.
  2. The king called aloud to bring in the conjurers, the Chaldeans and the diviners The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, "Any man who can read this inscription and explain its interpretation to me shall be clothed with purple and have a necklace of gold around his neck, and have authority as third ruler in the kingdom."
  3. Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the inscription or make known its interpretation to the king.
  4. Then King Belshazzar was greatly alarmed, his face grew even paler, and his nobles were perplexed.
  5. The queen entered the banquet hall because of the words of the king and his nobles; the queen spoke and said, "O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts alarm you or your face be pale.
  1. そのために 王の 顔色は 變り， その 心は 思い 惱んで 亂れ， その 腰のつがいはゆるみ， ひざは 震えて 互に 打ちあった．
  2. 王は 大聲に 呼ばわって， 法術士， カルデヤ びと， 占い 師らを 召してこさせた． 王は バビロン の 知者たちに 告げて 言った， 「この 文字を 讀み， その 解き 明かしをわたしに 示す 者には 紫の 衣を 着せ， 首に 金の 鎖をかけさせて， 國の 第三のつかさとしよう 」と．
  3. 王の 知者たちは 皆はいってきた． しかしその 文字を 讀むことができず， またその 解き 明かしを 王に 示すことができなかったので，
  4. ベルシャザル 王は 大いに 思い 惱んで， その 顔色は 變り， 王の 大臣たちも 當惑した．
  5. 時に 王妃は 王と 大臣たちの 言葉を 聞いて， その 宴會場にはいってきた． そして 王妃は 言った， 「王よ， どうか， とこしえに 生きながらえられますように． あなたは 心に 思い 惱んではなりません． また 顔色を 變えるには 及びません．
  1. "There is a man in your kingdom in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, illumination, insight and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him And King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, your father the king, appointed him chief of the magicians, conjurers, Chaldeans and diviners.
  2. "This was because an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and insight, interpretation of dreams, explanation of enigmas and solving of difficult problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Let Daniel now be summoned and he will declare the interpretation."
  3. Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Are you that Daniel who is one of the exiles from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah?
  4. "Now I have heard about you that a spirit of the gods is in you, and that illumination, insight and extraordinary wisdom have been found in you.
  5. "Just now the wise men and the conjurers were brought in before me that they might read this inscription and make its interpretation known to me, but they could not declare the interpretation of the message.
  1. あなたの 國には， 聖なる 神の 靈のやどっているひとりの 人がおります． あなたの 父の 代に， 彼は， 明知， 分別および 神のような 知惠のあることをあらわしました． あなたの 父 ネブカデネザル 王は， 彼を 立てて， 博士， 法術士， カルデヤ びと， 占い 師らの 長とされました．

  1. "But I personally have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and solve difficult problems. Now if you are able to read the inscription and make its interpretation known to me, you will be clothed with purple and wear a necklace of gold around your neck, and you will have authority as the third ruler in the kingdom."
  2. Then Daniel answered and said before the king, "Keep your gifts for yourself or give your rewards to someone else; however, I will read the inscription to the king and make the interpretation known to him.
  3. "O king, the Most High God granted sovereignty, grandeur, glory and majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your father.
  4. "Because of the grandeur which He bestowed on him, all the peoples, nations and men of every language feared and trembled before him; whomever he wished he killed and whomever he wished he spared alive; and whomever he wished he elevated and whomever he wished he humbled.
  5. "But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit became so proud that he behaved arrogantly, he was deposed from his royal throne and his glory was taken away from him.
  1. しかしまた 聞くところによると， あなたは 解き 明かしをなし， かつ 難問を 解くことができるそうだ． それで， あなたがもし， この 文字を 讀み， その 解き 明かしをわたしに 示すことができたなら， あなたに 紫の 衣を 着せ， 金の 鎖を 首にかけさせて， この 國の 第三のつかさとしよう 」．

  2. "Yet you, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this,
  3. but you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your nobles, your wives and your concubines have been drinking wine from them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood and stone, which do not see, hear or understand But the God in whose hand are your life-breath and all your ways, you have not glorified.
  4. "Then the hand was sent from Him and this inscription was written out.
  5. "Now this is the inscription that was written out: 'MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.'
  1. 追われて 世の 人と 離れ， その 思いは ¿のようになり， そのすまいは 野ろばと 共にあり， 牛のように 草を 食い， その 身は 天からくだる 露にぬれ， こうしてついに 彼は， いと 高き 神が 人間の 國を 治めて， 自分の 意のままに 人を 立てられるということを， 知るようになりました．
  2. ベルシャザル よ， あなたは 彼の 子であって， この 事をことごとく 知っていながら， なお 心を 低くせず，
  3. かえって 天の 主にむかって， みずから 高ぶり， その 宮の 器物をあなたの 前に 持ってこさせ， あなたとあなたの 大臣たちと， あなたの 妻とそばめたちは， それをもって 酒を 飮み， そしてあなたは 見ることも， 聞くことも， 物を 知ることもできない 金， 銀， 靑銅， 鐵， 木， 石の 神¿をほめたたえたが， あなたの 命をその 手ににぎり， あなたのすべての 道をつかさどられる 神をあがめようとはしなかった．

  1. "This is the interpretation of the message: 'MENE'--God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it.

  3. " 'PERES'--your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and Persians."
  4. Then Belshazzar gave orders, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now had authority as the third ruler in the kingdom.
  5. That same night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was slain.
  1. その 事の 解き 明かしはこうです， メネ は 神があなたの 治世を 數えて， これをその 終りに 至らせたことをいうのです．
  2. テケル は， あなたがはかりで 量られて， その 量の 足りないことがあらわれたことをいうのです．

  1. So Darius the Mede received the kingdom at about the age of sixty-two.
