- The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not only I, but also all who know the truth,
- for the sake of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:
- Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
- I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father.
- Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

- 長老のわたしから， 眞實に 愛している 選ばれた 婦人とその 子たちへ． あなたがたを 愛しているのは， わたしだけではなく， 眞理を 知っている 者はみなそうである．
- それは， わたしたちのうちにあり， また 永遠に 共にあるべき 眞理によるのである．
- 父なる 神および 父の 御子 イエス · キリスト から， 惠みとあわれみと 平安とが， 眞理と 愛のうちにあって， わたしたちと 共にあるように．
- あなたの 子供たちのうちで， わたしたちが 父から 受けた 戒めどおりに， 眞理のうちを 步いている 者があるのを 見て， わたしは 非常に 喜んでいる．
- 婦人よ． ここにお 願いしたいことがある． それは， 新しい 戒めを 書くわけではなく， 初めから 持っていた 戒めなのであるが， わたしたちは， みんな 互に 愛し 合おうではないか．

- And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
- For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
- Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.
- Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
- If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;

- 父の 戒めどおりに 步くことが， すなわち， 愛であり， あなたがたが 初めから 聞いてきたとおりに 愛のうちを 步くことが， すなわち， 戒めなのである．
- なぜなら， イエス · キリスト が 肉體をとってこられたことを 告白しないで 人を 惑わす 者が， 多く 世にはいってきたからである． そういう 者は， 惑わす 者であり， 反 キリスト である．
- よく 注意して， わたしたちの ¿いて 得た 成果を 失うことがなく， 豊かな 報いを 受けられるようにしなさい．
- すべて キリスト の 敎をとおり 過ごして， それにとどまらない 者は， 神を 持っていないのである． その 敎にとどまっている 者は， 父を 持ち， また 御子をも 持つ．
- この 敎を 持たずにあなたがたのところに 來る 者があれば， その 人を 家に 入れることも， あいさつすることもしてはいけない．

- そのような 人にあいさつする 者は， その 惡い 行いにあずかることになるからである．
- あなたがたに 書きおくることはたくさんあるが， 紙と 墨とで 書くことはすまい． むしろ， あなたがたのところに 行き， 直接はなし 合って， 共に 喜びに 滿ちあふれたいものである．
- 選ばれたあなたの 姉妹の 子供たちが， あなたによろしく．
