	출애굽기 5:1-6:30 모세는 바로 앞에 서서 이스라엘 백성을 보내어 광야에서 하나님께 절기를 지키게 할 것을 요청했다. 그러나 바로는 오히려 이스라엘 백성들의 고역을 더욱 무겁게 하였다. 이에 실망한 모세가 하나님께 기도하자 하나님께서는 다시 한번 이스라엘 백성을 구하실 것을 확신시켜 주셨다.

	바로와의 1차 대면(5:1-5:23)

And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"

But Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and besides, I will not let Israel go."

Then they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword."

But the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your labors!"

Again Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!"

その後，モ ― セとアロンはファラオのもとに出かけて行き，言った．「イスラエルの神，主がこう言われました．『わたしの民を去らせて，荒れ野でわたしのために祭りを行わせなさい』と．」

ファラオは，「主とは一體何者なのか．どうして，その言うことをわたしが聞いて，イスラエルを去らせねばならないのか．わたしは主など知らないし，イスラエルを去らせはしない」と答えた．

二人は言った．「ヘブライ人の神がわたしたちに出現されました．どうか，三日の道のりを荒れ野に行かせて，わたしたちの神，主に ¿牲をささげさせてください．そうしないと，神はきっと疫病か劍でわたしたちを滅ぼされるでしょう．」

エジプト王は彼らに命じた．「モ ― セとアロン，お前たちはなぜ彼らを仕事から引き離そうとするのだ．お前たちも自分の勞¿に戾るがよい．」

ファラオは更に，言った．「この國にいる者の數が增えているのに，お前たちは彼らに勞¿をやめさせようとするのか．」

So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters over the people and their foremen, saying,

"You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves.

"But the quota of bricks which they were making previously, you shall impose on them; you are not to reduce any of it. Because they are lazy, therefore they cry out, 'Let us go and sacrifice to our God.'

"Let the labor be heavier on the men, and let them work at it so that they will pay no attention to false words."

So the taskmasters of the people and their foremen went out and spoke to the people, saying, "Thus says Pharaoh, 'I am not going to give you any straw.

ファラオはその日，民を追い使う者と下役の者に命じた．

「これからは，今までのように，彼らにれんがを作るためのわらを與えるな．わらは自分たちで集めさせよ．

しかも，今まで彼らが作ってきた同じれんがの數量を課し，減らしてはならない．彼らは怠け者なのだ．だから，自分たちの神に ¿牲をささげに行かせてくれなどと叫ぶのだ．

この者たちは，仕事をきつくすれば，僞りの言葉に心を寄せることはなくなるだろう．」

民を追い使う者と下役の者は出て行き，民に向かって，「ファラオはこう言われる．『今後，お前たちにわらは一切與えない．

'You go and get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it, but none of your labor will be reduced.'"

So the people scattered through all the land of Egypt to gather stubble for straw.

The taskmasters pressed them, saying, "Complete your work quota, your daily amount, just as when you had straw."

Moreover, the foremen of the sons of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked, "Why have you not completed your required amount either yesterday or today in making brick as previously?"

Then the foremen of the sons of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, "Why do you deal this way with your servants?

お前たちはどこにでも行って，自分でわらを見つけて取って來い．ただし，仕事の量は少しも減らさない』」と言ったので，

民はエジプト中に散ってわらの切り株まで集めた．

追い使う者たちは，「わらがあったときと同じように，その日の割り當てをその日のうちに仕上げろ」と言って，せきたてた．

フ�@ラオに任命された追い使う者たちは，監督として置いたイスラエルの人¿の下役の者らに，「どうして，今までと同じ決められた量のれんがをその日のうちに仕上げることができないのか」と言って，彼らを打ったので，

イスラエルの人¿の下役の者らはファラオのもとに行って，訴えた．「どうしてあなたは僕たちにこのようにされるのですか．

"There is no straw given to your servants, yet they keep saying to us, 'Make bricks!' And behold, your servants are being beaten; but it is the fault of your own people."

But he said, "You are lazy, very lazy; therefore you say, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.'

"So go now and work; for you will be given no straw, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks."

The foremen of the sons of Israel saw that they were in trouble because they were told, "You must not reduce your daily amount of bricks."

When they left Pharaoh's presence, they met Moses and Aaron as they were waiting for them.

僕らにはわらが與えられません．それでも，れんがを作れと言われて，僕らは打たれているのです．間違っているのはあなたの民の方です．」

彼は言った．「この怠け者めが．お前たちは怠け者なのだ．だから，主に ¿牲をささげに行かせてくださいなどと言うのだ．

すぐに行って ¿け．わらは與えない．しかし，割り當てられた量のれんがは必ず仕上げよ．」

イスラエルの人¿の下役の者たちは，「れんがの一日の割り當ては減らすな」と命じられて，自分たちが苦境に立たされたことを悟った．

彼らがファラオのもとから退出して來ると，待ち受けていたモ ― セとアロンに會った．

They said to them, "May the LORD look upon you and judge you, for you have made us odious in Pharaoh's sight and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us."

Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, "O Lord, why have You brought harm to this people? Why did You ever send me?

"Ever since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done harm to this people, and You have not delivered Your people at all."

彼らは，二人に抗議した．「どうか，主があなたたちに現れてお裁きになるように．あなたたちのお陰で，我¿はファラオとその家來たちに嫌われてしまった．我¿を殺す劍を彼らの手に渡したのと同じです．」

モ ― セは主のもとに歸って，訴えた．「わが主よ．あなたはなぜ，この民に災いをくだされるのですか．わたしを遣わされたのは，一體なぜですか．

わたしがあなたの御名によって語るため，ファラオのもとに行ってから，彼はますますこの民を苦しめています．それなのに，あなたは御自分の民を全く救い出そうとされません．」

	언약의 하나님(6:1-6:30)

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land."

God spoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am the LORD;

and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them.

"I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they sojourned.

"Furthermore I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, because the Egyptians are holding them in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant.

主はモ ― セに言われた．「今や，あなたは，わたしがファラオにすることを見るであろう．わたしの强い手によって，ファラオはついに彼らを去らせる．わたしの强い手によって，ついに彼らを國から追い出すようになる．」

神はモ ― セに仰せになった．「わたしは主である．

わたしは，アブラハム，イサク，ヤコブに全能の神として現れたが，主というわたしの名を知らせなかった．

わたしはまた，彼らと契約を立て，彼らが寄留していた寄留地であるカナンの土地を與えると約束した．

わたしはまた，エジプト人の奴隷となっているイスラエルの人¿のうめき聲を聞き，わたしの契約を思い起こした．

"Say, therefore, to the sons of Israel, 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.

'Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

'I will bring you to the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you for a possession; I am the LORD.'"

So Moses spoke thus to the sons of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses on account of their despondency and cruel bondage.

Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

それゆえ，イスラエルの人¿に言いなさい．わたしは主である．わたしはエジプトの重勞¿の下からあなたたちを導き出し，奴隷の身分から救い出す．腕を伸ばし，大いなる審判によってあなたたちを ·う．

そして，わたしはあなたたちをわたしの民とし，わたしはあなたたちの神となる．あなたたちはこうして，わたしがあなたたちの神，主であり，あなたたちをエジプトの重勞¿の下から導き出すことを知る．

わたしは，アブラハム，イサク，ヤコブに與えると手を上げて誓った土地にあなたたちを導き入れ，その地をあなたたちの所有として與える．わたしは主である．」

モ ― セは，そのとおりイスラエルの人¿に語ったが，彼らは嚴しい重勞¿のため意欲を失って，モ ― セの言うことを聞こうとはしなかった．

主はモ ― セに仰せになった．

"Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the sons of Israel go out of his land."

But Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, "Behold, the sons of Israel have not listened to me; how then will Pharaoh listen to me, for I am unskilled in speech?"

Then the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a charge to the sons of Israel and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

These are the heads of their fathers' households. The sons of Reuben, Israel's firstborn: Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi; these are the families of Reuben.

The sons of Simeon: Jemuel and Jamin and Ohad and Jachin and Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon.

「エジプトの王ファラオのもとに行って，イスラエルの人¿を國から去らせるように說得しなさい．」

モ ― セは主に訴えた．「御覽のとおり，イスラエルの人¿でさえわたしに聞こうとしないのに，どうしてファラオが唇に割禮のないわたしの言うことを聞くでしょうか．」

主はモ ― セとアロンに語って，イスラエルの人¿とエジプトの王ファラオにかかわる命令を與えられた．それは，イスラエルの人¿をエジプトの國から導き出せというものであった．

彼らの家系の長は次のとおりである．イスラエルの長男ルベンの子らは，ハノク，パル，ヘツロン，カルミで，これらがルベンの氏族である．

シメオンの子らは，エムエル，ヤミン，オハド，ヤキン，ツォハルおよびカナンの女から生まれたシャウルで，これらがシメオンの氏族である．

These are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon and Kohath and Merari; and the length of Levi's life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.

The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

The sons of Kohath: Amram and Izhar and Hebron and Uzziel; and the length of Kohath's life was one hundred and thirty-three years.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.

Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses; and the length of Amram's life was one hundred and thirty-seven years.

レビの子らの名は家系に從うと次のとおりである．ゲルション，ケハト，メラリ．レビの生涯は百三十七年であった．

ゲルションの子らは，氏族に從うと，リブニとシムイである．

ケハトの子らは，アムラム，イツハル，ヘブロン，ウジエルである．ケハトの生涯は百三十三年であった．

メラリの子らは，マフリとムシで，これらが家系に從ったレビの氏族である．

アムラムは叔母ヨケベドを妻に迎えた．彼女の産んだ子がアロンとモ ― セである．アムラムの生涯は百三十七年であった．

The sons of Izhar: Korah and Nepheg and Zichri.

The sons of Uzziel: Mishael and Elzaphan and Sithri.

Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

The sons of Korah: Assir and Elkanah and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.

Aaron's son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' households of the Levites according to their families.

イツハルの子らは，コラ，ネフェグ，ジクリである．

ウジエルの子らは，ミシャエル，エルツァファン，シトリである．

アロンは，アミナダブの娘でナフションの姉妹であるエリシェバを妻に迎えた．彼女の産んだ子がナダブ，アビフ，エルアザル，イタマルである．

コラの子らは，アシル，エルカナ，アビアサフで，これらがコラ人の氏族である．

アロンの子エルアザルは，プティエルの娘の一人を妻に迎えた．彼女の産んだ子がピネハスである．以上が氏族ごとのレビ人の家長である．

It was the same Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, "Bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts."

They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing out the sons of Israel from Egypt; it was the same Moses and Aaron.

Now it came about on the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt,

that the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, "I am the LORD; speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak to you."

But Moses said before the LORD, "Behold, I am unskilled in speech; how then will Pharaoh listen to me?"

主が，「イスラエルの人¿を部隊ごとにエジプトの國から導き出せ」と命じられたのは，このアロンとモ ― セである．

そして，イスラエルの人¿をエジプトから導き出すよう，エジプトの王ファラオの說得に當たったのも，このモ ― セとアロンである．

主がエジプトの國でモ ― セに語られたとき，

主はモ ― セに仰せになった．「わたしは主である．わたしがあなたに語ることをすべて，エジプトの王ファラオに語りなさい．」

しかし，モ ― セは主に言った．「御覽のとおり，わたしは唇に割禮のない者です．どうしてファラオがわたしの言うことを聞き入れましょうか．」
