- Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee.
- And when He came out onto the land, He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs.
- Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, "What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me."
- For He had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, and yet he would break his bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.
- And Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Legion"; for many demons had entered him.

- 一行は， ガリラヤ の 向こう 岸にある ゲラサ 人の 地方に 着いた．
- イエス が 陸に 上がられると， この 町の 者で， 惡靈に 取りつかれている 男がやって 來た． この 男は 長い 間， 衣服を 身に 着けず， 家に 住まないで 墓場を 住まいとしていた．
- イエス を 見ると， わめきながらひれ 伏し， 大聲で 言った． 「いと 高き 神の 子 イエス ， かまわないでくれ． 賴むから 苦しめないでほしい． 」
- イエス が， 汚れた 靈に 男から 出るように 命じられたからである． この 人は 何回も 汚れた 靈に 取りつかれたので， 鎖でつながれ， 足枷をはめられて 監視されていたが， それを 引きちぎっては， 惡靈によって 荒れ 野へと 驅り 立てられていた．
- イエス が， 「名は 何というか 」とお 尋ねになると， 「レギオン 」と 言った． たくさんの 惡靈がこの 男に 入っていたからである．

- They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss.
- Now there was a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain; and the demons implored Him to permit them to enter the swine. And He gave them permission.
- And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
- When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran away and reported it in the city and out in the country.
- The people went out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they became frightened.

- そして 惡靈どもは， 底なしの 淵へ 行けという 命令を 自分たちに 出さないようにと， イエス に 願った．
- ところで， その 邊りの 山で， たくさんの 豚の 群れがえさをあさっていた． 惡靈どもが 豚の 中に 入る 許しを 願うと， イエス はお 許しになった．
- 惡靈どもはその 人から 出て， 豚の 中に 入った． すると， 豚の 群れは 崖を 下って 湖になだれ ¿み， おぼれ 死んだ．
- この 出來事を 見た 豚飼いたちは 逃げ 出し， 町や 村にこのことを 知らせた．
- そこで， 人¿はその 出來事を 見ようとしてやって 來た． 彼らは イエス のところに 來ると， 惡靈どもを 追い 出してもらった 人が， 服を 着， 正氣になって イエス の 足もとに 座っているのを 見て， 恐ろしくなった．

- Those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon-possessed had been made well.
- And all the people of the country of the Gerasenes and the surrounding district asked Him to leave them, for they were gripped with great fear; and He got into a boat and returned.
- But the man from whom the demons had gone out was begging Him that he might accompany Him; but He sent him away, saying,
- "Return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you." So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

- 成り 行きを 見ていた 人たちは， 惡靈に 取りつかれていた 人の 救われた 次第を 人¿に 知らせた．
- そこで， ゲラサ 地方の 人¿は 皆， 自分たちのところから 出て 行ってもらいたいと， イエス に 願った． 彼らはすっかり 恐れに 取りつかれていたのである． そこで， イエス は 舟に 乘って 歸ろうとされた．
- 惡靈どもを 追い 出してもらった 人が， お 供したいとしきりに 願ったが， イエス はこう 言ってお 歸しになった．
- 「自分の 家に 歸りなさい． そして， 神があなたになさったことをことごとく 話して 聞かせなさい． 」その 人は 立ち 去り， イエス が 自分にしてくださったことをことごとく 町中に 言い 廣めた．
