열왕기하

  본서는 북이스라엘의 아하시야로부터 호세아까지 약 130년 간의 분열 왕국 역사와 그 후 히스기야로부터 바벨론에 멸망되기까지 150년 간의 남유다 역사를 기록하고 있다. 하나님의 언약을 거역한 이스라엘의 참담한 역사 속에서 이스라엘 민족의 흥망 성쇠는 하나님께 대한 그들의 신실함 여부에 달려 있음을 나타내고 있다.

  하나님께서는 패역한 이스라엘을 향해 엘리야, 엘리사를 비롯한 많은 선지자들을 보내 회개와 심판의 메시지를 주시지만, 그들은 여전히 하나님을 거역한다. 결국 북이스라엘은 앗수르에 의해 멸망되고, 남유다도 히스기야와 요시야의 개혁에도 불구하고 시드기야 때 바벨론에게 정복당하고 만다.

 

 

열왕기하 1:1-2:25

 아하시야는 병이 나자 바알세불의 능력으로 병을 고치려 하였고, 이러한 불신앙적 행위에 하나님께서는 엘리야를 통해 죽음을 선고하셨다. 엘리야를 체포하려던 아하시야의 병사들은 심판의 불로 죽임을 당하였고, 결국 아하시야도 예언의 말씀대로 죽고 말았다. 엘리야가 승천한 후 그를 계승한 엘리사는 갑절의 능력을 받아 하나님의 사역을 시작하였다.
  
  엘리야와 아하시야(1:1-1:18)    
 
  1. Now Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
  2. And Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber which was in Samaria, and became ill. So he sent messengers and said to them, "Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover from this sickness."
  3. But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, "Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?'
  4. "Now therefore thus says the LORD, 'You shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you shall surely die.'" Then Elijah departed.
  5. When the messengers returned to him he said to them, "Why have you returned?"

  4. それゆえ 主はこう 言われる． あなたは 上った 寢台から 降りることはない． あなたは 必ず 死ぬ． 』」 エリヤ は 出て 行った．
  5. 使者たちが 歸って 來たので， アハズヤ は， 「お 前たちはなぜ 歸って 來たのか 」と 尋ねた．
  1. They said to him, "A man came up to meet us and said to us, 'Go, return to the king who sent you and say to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'"'"
  2. He said to them, "What kind of man was he who came up to meet you and spoke these words to you?"
  3. They answered him, "He was a hairy man with a leather girdle bound about his loins." And he said, "It is Elijah the Tishbite."
  4. Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him, and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. And he said to him, "O man of God, the king says, 'Come down.'"
  5. Elijah replied to the captain of fifty, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty " Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

  1. So he again sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he said to him, "O man of God, thus says the king, 'Come down quickly.'"
  2. Elijah replied to them, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty." Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
  3. So he again sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. When the third captain of fifty went up, he came and bowed down on his knees before Elijah, and begged him and said to him, "O man of God, please let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight.
  4. "Behold fire came down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in your sight."
  5. The angel of the LORD said to Elijah, "Go down with him; do not be afraid of him." So he arose and went down with him to the king.
  1. 王は 再びもう 一人の 五十人隊の 長を， その 部下五十人と 共に エリヤ のもとに 遣わした． 隊長が， 「神の 人よ， 王が， 『急いで 降りて 來なさい 』と 命じておられます 」と 言いかけると，

  1. Then he said to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron--is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of His word?--therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'"
  2. So Ahaziah died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And because he had no son, Jehoram became king in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah.
  3. Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
  1. 王にこう 告げた． 「主はこう 言われる． 『あなたは エクロン の 神 バアル · ゼブブ に 尋ねようとして 使者を 遣わしたが， それは イスラエル にその 言葉を 求めることのできる 神はいないということか． それゆえあなたは 上った 寢台から 降りることはない． あなたは 必ず 死ぬ． 』」
  2. 王は エリヤ が 告げた 主の 言葉どおりに 死んで， ヨラム が 彼に 代わって 王となった． それは ユダ の 王， ヨシャファト の 子 ヨラム の 治世第二年のことである． アハズヤ には 息子がなかったからである．

  엘리야의 승천과 후계자 엘리사(2:1-2:25)    
 
  1. And it came about when the LORD was about to take up Elijah by a whirlwind to heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
  2. Elijah said to Elisha, "Stay here please, for the LORD has sent me as far as Bethel " But Elisha said, "As the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel.
  3. Then the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, "Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?" And he said, "Yes, I know; be still."
  4. Elijah said to him, "Elisha, please stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Jericho " But he said, "As the LORD lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So they came to Jericho.
  5. The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho approached Elisha and said to him, "Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?" And he answered, "Yes, I know; be still."
  1. 主が 嵐を 起こして エリヤ を 天に 上げられたときのことである． エリヤ は エリシャ を 連れて ギルガル を 出た．
  2. エリヤ は エリシャ に， 「主はわたしを ベテル にまでお 遣わしになるが， あなたはここにとどまっていなさい 」と 言った． しかし エリシャ は， 「主は 生きておられ， あなた 御自身も 生きておられます． わたしはあなたを 離れません 」と 答えたので， 二人は ベテル に 下って 行った．

  5. エリコ の 預言者の 仲間たちが エリシャ に 近づいて， 「主が 今日， あなたの 主人をあなたから 取り 去ろうとなさっているのを 知っていますか 」と 問うと， エリシャ は， 「わたしも 知っています． 默っていてください 」と 答えた．
  1. Then Elijah said to him, "Please stay here, for the LORD has sent me to the Jordan." And he said, "As the LORD lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you." So the two of them went on.
  2. Now fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood opposite them at a distance, while the two of them stood by the Jordan.
  3. Elijah took his mantle and folded it together and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
  4. When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you." And Elisha said, "Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."
  5. He said, "You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."
  1. エリヤ は エリシャ に， 「主はわたしを ヨルダン へお 遣わしになるが， あなたはここにとどまっていなさい 」と 言った． しかし エリシャ は， 「主は 生きておられ， あなた 御自身も 生きておられます． わたしはあなたを 離れません 」と 答えたので， 彼らは 二人で 出かけて 行った．

  1. As they were going along and talking, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire which separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven.
  2. Elisha saw it and cried out, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!" And he saw Elijah no more Then he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.
  3. He also took up the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and returned and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
  4. He took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and struck the waters and said, "Where is the LORD, the God of Elijah?" And when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha crossed over.
  5. Now when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho opposite him saw him, they said, "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." And they came to meet him and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
  1. 彼らが 話しながら 步き 續けていると， 見よ， 火の 戰車が 火の 馬に 引かれて 現れ， 二人の 間を 分けた． エリヤ は 嵐の 中を 天に 上って 行った．

  1. They said to him, "Behold now, there are with your servants fifty strong men, please let them go and search for your master; perhaps the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up and cast him on some mountain or into some valley." And he said, "You shall not send."
  2. But when they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, "Send." They sent therefore fifty men; and they searched three days but did not find him.
  3. They returned to him while he was staying at Jericho; and he said to them, "Did I not say to you, 'Do not go'?"
  4. Then the men of the city said to Elisha, "Behold now, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad and the land is unfruitful."
  5. He said, "Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it." So they brought it to him.

  3. Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, "Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!"
  4. When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.
  5. He went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
  1. 彼は 水の 源に 出かけて 行って 鹽を 投げ ¿み， 「主はこう 言われる． 『わたしはこの 水を 淸めた． もはやここから 死も 不毛も 起こらない 』」と 言った．
  2. エリシャ の 告げた 言葉のとおり， 水は 淸くなって 今日に 至っている．
  3. エリシャ はそこから ベテル に 上った． 彼が 道を 上って 行くと， 町から 小さい 子供たちが 出て 來て 彼を 嘲り， 「はげ 頭， 上って 行け． はげ 頭， 上って 行け 」と 言った．
  4. エリシャ が 振り 向いてにらみつけ， 主の 名によって 彼らを 呪うと， 森の 中から 二頭の 熊が 現れ， 子供たちのうちの 四十二人を 引き 裂いた．
  5. エリシャ はそこから カルメル 山に 行き， そこから サマリア に 歸った．
