욥기 13:1-15:35

 욥은 친구들이 말하는 고난에 대한 이해를 자신도 잘 알고 있다고 하면서, 그렇지만 그것이 자기의 경우와는 다르다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님과 직접 변론하여 자신의 결백을 밝히기 원한다고 말하였다. 그러자 엘리바스는 이러한 욥의 말을 정죄하면서, 악인의 고통스런 운명을 제시하며 하나님께 용서 구할 것을 촉구하였다.
  
  욥의 기도(13:1-14:22)    
 
  1. "Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.
  2. "What you know I also know; I am not inferior to you.
  3. "But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to argue with God.
  4. "But you smear with lies; You are all worthless physicians.
  5. "O that you would be completely silent, And that it would become your wisdom!
  1. そんなことはみな， わたしもこの 目で 見 ／この 耳で 聞いて， よく 分かっている．
  2. あなたたちの 知っていることぐらいは ／わたしも 知っている． あなたたちに 劣ってはいない．
  3. わたしが 話しかけたいのは 全能者なのだ． わたしは 神に 向かって 申し 立てたい．
  4. あなたたちは 皆， 僞りの 藥を 塗る ／役に 立たない 醫者だ．
  5. どうか 默ってくれ ／默ることがあなたたちの 知惠を 示す．
  1. "Please hear my argument And listen to the contentions of my lips.
  2. "Will you speak what is unjust for God, And speak what is deceitful for Him?
  3. "Will you show partiality for Him? Will you contend for God?
  4. "Will it be well when He examines you? Or will you deceive Him as one deceives a man?
  5. "He will surely reprove you If you secretly show partiality.
  1. わたしの 議論を 聞き ／この 唇の 訴えに 耳を 傾けてくれ．
  2. 神に 代わったつもりで， あなたたちは 不正を 語り ／欺いて 語るのか．
  3. 神に 代わったつもりで 論爭するのか． そんなことで 神にへつらおうというのか．
  4. 人を 侮るように 神を 侮っているが ／神に 追及されてもよいのか．
  5. たとえひそかにでも， へつらうなら ／神は 告發されるであろう．
  1. "Will not His majesty terrify you, And the dread of Him fall on you?
  2. "Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, Your defenses are defenses of clay.
  3. "Be silent before me so that I may speak; Then let come on me what may.
  4. "Why should I take my flesh in my teeth And put my life in my hands?
  5. "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.
  1. その 威嚴は， あなたたちを 脅かし ／恐れがふりかかるであろう．
  2. あなたたちの 主張は 灰の 格言 ／弁護は 土くれの 盾にすぎない．
  3. 默ってくれ， わたしに 話させてくれ． どんなことがふりかかって 來てもよい．
  4. たとえこの 身を 自分の 齒にかけ ／魂を 自分の 手に 置くことになってもよい．
  5. そうだ， 神はわたしを 殺されるかもしれない． だが， ただ 待ってはいられない． わたしの 道を 神の 前に 申し 立てよう．
  1. "This also will be my salvation, For a godless man may not come before His presence.
  2. "Listen carefully to my speech, And let my declaration fill your ears.
  3. "Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.
  4. "Who will contend with me? For then I would be silent and die.
  5. "Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide from Your face:
  1. このわたしをこそ ／神は 救ってくださるべきではないか． 神を 無視する 者なら ／御前に 出るはずはないではないか．
  2. よく 聞いてくれ， わたしの 言葉を． わたしの 言い 分に 耳を 傾けてくれ．
  3. 見よ， わたしは 訴えを 述べる． わたしは 知っている， わたしが 正しいのだ．
  4. わたしのために 爭ってくれる 者があれば ／もはや， わたしは 默って 死んでもよい．
  5. ただ， やめていただきたいことが 二つあります ／御前から 逃げ 隱れはいたしませんから．
  1. Remove Your hand from me, And let not the dread of You terrify me.
  2. "Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then reply to me.
  3. "How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my rebellion and my sin.
  4. "Why do You hide Your face And consider me Your enemy?
  5. "Will You cause a driven leaf to tremble? Or will You pursue the dry chaff?
  1. わたしの 上から 御手を 遠ざけてください． 御腕をもって 脅かすのをやめてください．
  2. そして， 呼んでください， お 答えします． わたしに 語らせてください， 返事をしてください．
  3. 罪と 惡がどれほどわたしにあるのでしょうか． わたしの 罪咎を 示してください．
  4. なぜ， あなたは 御顔を 隱し ／わたしを 敵と 見なされるのですか．
  5. 風に 舞う 木の 葉のようなわたしをなお 震えさせ ／乾いたもみ 殼のようなわたしを 追いまわされる．
  1. "For You write bitter things against me And make me to inherit the iniquities of my youth.
  2. "You put my feet in the stocks And watch all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet,
  3. While I am decaying like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth-eaten.
  1. わたしに 對して 苦い 定めを 書き 記し ／若い 日の 罪をも 今なお 負わせられる．
  2. わたしに 足枷をはめ， 行く 道を 見張り 續け ／一步一步の 跡を 刻みつけておかれる．
  3. このようにされれば ／だれでもしみに 食われた 衣のようになり ／朽ち 果てるほかはありません．
 
 
  1. "Man, who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil.
  2. "Like a flower he comes forth and withers He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
  3. "You also open Your eyes on him And bring him into judgment with Yourself.
  4. "Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one!
  5. "Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.
  1. 人は 女から 生まれ， 人生は 短く ／苦しみは 絶えない．
  2. 花のように ¿き 出ては， しおれ ／影のように 移ろい， 永らえることはない．
  3. あなたが 御目を 開いて 見ておられるのは ／このような 者なのです． このようなわたしをあなたに 對して ／裁きの 座に 引き 出されるのですか．
  4. 汚れたものから 淸いものを ／引き 出すことができましょうか． だれひとりできないのです．
  5. 人生はあなたが 定められたとおり ／月日の 數もあなた 次第． あなたの 決定されたことを 人は 侵せない．
  1. "Turn Your gaze from him that he may rest, Until he fulfills his day like a hired man.
  2. "For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail.
  3. "Though its roots grow old in the ground And its stump dies in the dry soil,
  4. At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.
  5. "But man dies and lies prostrate Man expires, and where is he?
  1. 御目をこのような 人間からそらせてください． 彼の 命は 絶え ／傭兵のようにその 日を 喜ぶでしょう．
  2. 木には 希望がある， というように ／木は 切られても， また 新芽を 吹き ／若枝の 絶えることはない．
  3. 地におろしたその 根が 老い ／幹が 朽ちて， 塵に 返ろうとも
  4. 水氣にあえば， また 芽を 吹き ／苗木のように 枝を 張る．
  5. だが， 人間は 死んで 橫たわる． 息絶えれば， 人はどこに 行ってしまうのか．
  1. "As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,
  2. So man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no longer, He will not awake nor be aroused out of his sleep.
  3. "Oh that You would hide me in Sheol, That You would conceal me until Your wrath returns to You, That You would set a limit for me and remember me!
  4. "If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my struggle I will wait Until my change comes.
  5. "You will call, and I will answer You; You will long for the work of Your hands.
  1. 海の 水が ¿れ ／川の 流れが 盡きて 干上がることもあろう．
  2. だが， 倒れ 伏した 人間は ／再び 立ち 上がることなく ／天の 續くかぎりは ／その 眠りから 覺めることがない．
  3. どうか， わたしを 陰府に 隱してください． あなたの 怒りがやむときまで ／わたしを 覆い 隱してください． しかし， 時を 定めてください ／わたしを 思い 起こす 時を．
  4. 人は 死んでしまえば ／もう 生きなくてもよいのです． 苦役のようなわたしの 人生ですから ／交替の 時が 來るのをわたしは 待ち 望んでいます．
  5. 呼んでください， わたしはお 答えします． 御手の 業であるわたしを 尋ね 求めてください．
  1. "For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin.
  2. "My transgression is sealed up in a bag, And You wrap up my iniquity.
  3. "But the falling mountain crumbles away, And the rock moves from its place;
  4. Water wears away stones, Its torrents wash away the dust of the earth; So You destroy man's hope.
  5. "You forever overpower him and he departs; You change his appearance and send him away.
  1. その 時には， わたしの 步みを 數えてください． わたしの 過ちにもはや 固執することなく
  2. わたしの 罪を 袋の 中に 封じ ¿め ／わたしの 惡を 塗り 隱してください．
  3. しかし， 山が 崩れ 去り ／岩がその 場から 移され
  4. 水が 石を 打ち ¿き ／大地が 塵となって 押し 流される 時が 來ても ／人の 望みはあなたに 絶たれたままだ．
  5. あなたは 人をいつまでも 攻め， 追いやられる． あなたは 彼の 顔かたちを 變えて， 追い 拂われる．
  1. "His sons achieve honor, but he does not know it; Or they become insignificant, but he does not perceive it.
  2. "But his body pains him, And he mourns only for himself."
  1. その 子らが 名譽を 得ても， 彼は 知ることなく ／彼らが 不幸になっても， もう 悟らない．
  2. 彼はひとり， その 肉の 痛みに 耐え ／魂の 嘆きを 忍ぶだけだ．
 
  엘리바스의 두번째 충고(15:1-15:35)    
 
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite responded,
  2. "Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge And fill himself with the east wind?
  3. "Should he argue with useless talk, Or with words which are not profitable?
  4. "Indeed, you do away with reverence And hinder meditation before God.
  5. "For your guilt teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty.
  1. テマン 人 エリファズ は 答えた．
  2. 知惠ある 者が 空虛な 意見を 述べたり ／その 腹を 東風で 滿たしたりするであろうか．
  3. 無益な 言葉をもって 論じたり ／役に 立たない 論議を 重ねたりするであろうか．
  4. あなたは 神を 畏れ 敬うことを 捨て ／嘆き 訴えることをやめた．
  5. あなたの 口は 罪に 導かれて 語り ／舌はこざかしい 論法を 選ぶ．
  1. "Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; And your own lips testify against you.
  2. "Were you the first man to be born, Or were you brought forth before the hills?
  3. "Do you hear the secret counsel of God, And limit wisdom to yourself?
  4. "What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that we do not?
  5. "Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, Older than your father.
  1. あなたを 罪に 定めるのはわたしではなく ／あなた 自身の 口だ． あなたの 唇があなたに 不利な 答えをするのだ．
  2. あなたは 最初の 人間として 生まれたのか． 山より 先に 生まれたのか．
  3. 神の 奧義を 聞き ／知惠を 自分のものとしたのか．
  4. あなたの 知っていることで ／わたしたちの 知らないことがあろうか． わたしたちには 及びもつかないことを ／あなたが 悟れるというのか．
  5. わたしたちの 中には 白髮の 老人もあり ／あなたの 父より 年上の 者もある．
  1. "Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word spoken gently with you?
  2. "Why does your heart carry you away? And why do your eyes flash,
  3. That you should turn your spirit against God And allow such words to go out of your mouth?
  4. "What is man, that he should be pure, Or he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
  5. "Behold, He puts no trust in His holy ones, And the heavens are not pure in His sight;
  1. 神の 慰めなどは 取るに 足らない ／優しい 言葉は 役に 立たない， というのか．
  2. なぜ， あなたは 取り 亂すのか． なぜ， あなたの 目つきはいらだっているのか．
  3. 神に 向かって 憤りを 返し ／そんな 言葉を 口に 出すとは 何事か．
  4. どうして， 人が 淸くありえよう． どうして， 女から 生まれた 者が ／正しくありえよう．
  5. 神は 聖なる 人¿をも 信賴なさらず ／天すら， 神の 目には 淸くない．
  1. How much less one who is detestable and corrupt, Man, who drinks iniquity like water!
  2. "I will tell you, listen to me; And what I have seen I will also declare;
  3. What wise men have told, And have not concealed from their fathers,
  4. To whom alone the land was given, And no alien passed among them.
  5. "The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, And numbered are the years stored up for the ruthless.
  1. まして 人間は， 水を 飮むように 不正を 飮む 者 ／憎むべき 汚れた 者なのだ．
  2. あなたに 語ろう， 聞きなさい． わたしに 示されたことを 告げよう．
  3. それは 賢者たちの 示したところ ／それを 彼らの 父祖も 隱さなかった．
  4. これらの 父祖にのみ， この 地は 與えられており ／異國の 者が 侵すことはなかった．
  5. さて， 惡人の 一生は 不安に 滿ち ／暴虐な 者の 生きる 年數も 限られている．
  1. "Sounds of terror are in his ears; While at peace the destroyer comes upon him.
  2. "He does not believe that he will return from darkness, And he is destined for the sword.
  3. "He wanders about for food, saying, 'Where is it?' He knows that a day of darkness is at hand.
  4. "Distress and anguish terrify him, They overpower him like a king ready for the attack,
  5. Because he has stretched out his hand against God And conducts himself arrogantly against the Almighty.
  1. その 耳には 恐ろしい ¿音が 響く． 平安のさなかに 略奪者が 彼を 襲うのだ．
  2. 暗黑を 逃れうるとはもう 信じられない． 彼の 前には 劍が 待つのみだ．
  3. 彼は パン を 求めてどことも 知らずにさまよい ／暗黑の 訪れる 時が 間近いことを 知る．
  4. 苦しみと 惱みが 彼を 脅かし ／戰いを 挑む 王のように 攻めかかる．
  5. 彼は 神に 手向かい ／全能者に 對して 傲慢にふるまい
  1. "He rushes headlong at Him With his massive shield.
  2. "For he has covered his face with his fat And made his thighs heavy with flesh.
  3. "He has lived in desolate cities, In houses no one would inhabit, Which are destined to become ruins.
  4. "He will not become rich, nor will his wealth endure; And his grain will not bend down to the ground.
  5. "He will not escape from darkness; The flame will wither his shoots, And by the breath of His mouth he will go away.
  1. 厚い 盾をかざして ／頑に 神に 向かって 突進した．
  2. 顔は 脂ぎって ／腰にはぜい 肉がついていたが
  3. 滅ぼされた 町， 無人となった 家 ／瓦 ラ となる 運命にある 所に ／彼は 住まねばならないであろう．
  4. 再び 富むことなく， 力も 永らえず ／その 家畜は 地に 廣がらない．
  5. 彼は 暗黑から 逃れられない． 熱風がその 若枝を 枯らし ／神の 口の 息が 吹き 拂う．
  1. "Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; For emptiness will be his reward.
  2. "It will be accomplished before his time, And his palm branch will not be green.
  3. "He will drop off his unripe grape like the vine, And will cast off his flower like the olive tree.
  4. "For the company of the godless is barren, And fire consumes the tents of the corrupt.
  5. "They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity, And their mind prepares deception."
  1. 惑わされてむなしいものを 信じるな． その 報いはむなしい．
  2. 時が 來る 前に 枯れ ／枝はその 綠を 失う．
  3. 未熟な 實を 荒らされるぶどうの 木 ／花を 落とす オリ ― ブ の 木のようになる．
  4. 神を 無視する 者の 一族に 子は 生まれず ／賄賂を 好む 者の 天幕は 火に 燒き 盡くされる．
  5. 彼は 苦しみをはらみ， 災いを 生む． その 腹は 欺きをはぐくむ．
