디모데전서 3:1-3:16

 바울은 교회를 돌볼 수 있는 자격을 갖춘 감독과 집사를 임명하는 규정을 제시하였다. 또한 이 서신을 쓴 목적이 디모데에게 목회 방법을 가르치는 데 있다고 밝히며, 예수 그리스도에 대한 경건의 비밀을 증언했다.
  
  감독의 자격(3:1-3:7)    
 
  1. It is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do.
  2. An overseer, then, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, prudent, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
  3. not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money.
  4. He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity
  5. (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?),
  1. この 言葉は 眞實です． 「監督の 職を 求める 人がいれば， その 人は 良い 仕事を 望んでいる． 」
  2. だから， 監督は， 非のうちどころがなく， 一人の 妻の 夫であり， 節制し， 分別があり， 禮儀正しく， 客を 親切にもてなし， よく 敎えることができなければなりません．
  3. また， 酒におぼれず， 亂暴でなく， 寬容で， 爭いを 好まず， 金錢に 執着せず，
  4. 自分の 家庭をよく 治め， 常に 品位を 保って 子供たちを 從順な 者に 育てている 人でなければなりません．
  5. 自分の 家庭を 治めることを 知らない 者に， どうして 神の 敎會の 世話ができるでしょうか．
  1. and not a new convert, so that he will not become conceited and fall into the condemnation incurred by the devil.
  2. And he must have a good reputation with those outside the church, so that he will not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
  1. 監督は， 信仰に 入って 間もない 人ではいけません． それでは 高慢になって 惡魔と 同じ 裁きを 受けかねないからです．
  2. 更に， 監督は， 敎會以外の 人¿からも 良い 評判を 得ている 人でなければなりません． そうでなければ， 中傷され， 惡魔の ┼に 陷りかねないからです．
 
  집사의 자격(3:8-3:16)    
 
  1. Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain,
  2. but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.
  3. These men must also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons if they are beyond reproach.
  4. Women must likewise be dignified, not malicious gossips, but temperate, faithful in all things.
  5. Deacons must be husbands of only one wife, and good managers of their children and their own households.
  1. 同じように， 奉仕者たちも 品位のある 人でなければなりません． 二枚舌を 使わず， 大酒を 飮まず， 恥ずべき 利益をむさぼらず，
  2. 淸い 良心の 中に 信仰の 秘められた 眞理を 持っている 人でなければなりません．
  3. この 人¿もまず 審査を 受けるべきです． その 上で， 非難される 点がなければ， 奉仕者の 務めに 就かせなさい．
  4. 婦人の 奉仕者たちも 同じように 品位のある 人でなければなりません． 中傷せず， 節制し， あらゆる 点で 忠實な 人でなければなりません．
  5. 奉仕者は 一人の 妻の 夫で， 子供たちと 自分の 家庭をよく 治める 人でなければなりません．
  1. For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a high standing and great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
  2. I am writing these things to you, hoping to come to you before long;
  3. but in case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.
  4. By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory.
  1. というのも， 奉仕者の 仕事を 立派に 果たした 人¿は， 良い 地位を 得， キリスト · イエス への 信仰によって 大きな 確信を 得るようになるからです．
  2. わたしは， 間もなくあなたのところへ 行きたいと 思いながら， この 手紙を 書いています．
  3. 行くのが 遲れる 場合， 神の 家でどのように 生活すべきかを 知ってもらいたいのです． 神の 家とは， 眞理の 柱であり 土台である 生ける 神の 敎會です．
  4. 信心の 秘められた 眞理は 確かに 偉大です． すなわち， ／ キリスト は 肉において 現れ， ／“靈 ＂において 義とされ， ／天使たちに 見られ， ／異邦人の 間で 宣べ 傳えられ， ／世界中で 信じられ， ／榮光のうちに 上げられた．
