- Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
- of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.
- And this we will do, if God permits.
- For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
- and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,

- -2 だからわたしたちは， 死んだ 行いの 悔い 改め， 神への 信仰， 種¿の 洗禮についての 敎え， 手を 置く 儀式， 死者の 復活， 永遠の 審判などの 基本的な 敎えを 學び 直すようなことはせず， キリスト の 敎えの 初步を 離れて， 成熟を 目指して 進みましょう．

- 一度光に 照らされ， 天からの 賜物を 味わい， 聖靈にあずかるようになり，

- その 後に 墮落した 者の 場合には， 再び 悔い 改めに 立ち 歸らせることはできません． 神の 子を 自分の 手で 改めて 十字架につけ， 侮辱する 者だからです．
- 土地は， 度¿その 上に 降る 雨を 吸い ¿んで， 耕す 人¿に 役立つ 農作物をもたらすなら， 神の 祝福を 受けます．
- しかし， 茨やあざみを 生えさせると， 役に 立たなくなり， やがて 呪われ， ついには 燒かれてしまいます．
- しかし， 愛する 人たち， こんなふうに 話してはいても， わたしたちはあなたがたについて， もっと 良いこと， 救いにかかわることがあると 確信しています．
- 神は 不義な 方ではないので， あなたがたの ¿きや， あなたがたが 聖なる 者たちに 以前も 今も 仕えることによって， 神の 名のために 示したあの 愛をお 忘れになるようなことはありません．

- And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,
- so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

- あなたがたが 怠け 者とならず， 信仰と 忍耐とによって， 約束されたものを 受け 繼ぐ 人たちを 見倣う 者となってほしいのです．
