- She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens.
- She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
- She girds herself with strength And makes her arms strong.
- She senses that her gain is good; Her lamp does not go out at night.
- She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hands grasp the spindle.

- 夜の 明ける 前に 起き 出して ／一族には 食べ 物を 供し ／召し 使いの 女たちには 指圖を 與える．
- 熟慮して 畑を 買い ／手ずから 實らせた 儲けでぶどう 畑をひらく．
- 力强く 腰に 帶し， 腕を 强くする．
- 商賣が 好調かどうか 味わい ／燈は 夜も 消えることがない．
- 手を 絲車に 伸べ， 手のひらに 錘をあやつる．

- She extends her hand to the poor, And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
- She is not afraid of the snow for her household, For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
- She makes coverings for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
- Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.
- She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies belts to the tradesmen.

- 貧しい 人には 手を 開き， 乏しい 人に 手を 伸べる．
- 雪が 降っても 一族に 憂いはない． 一族は 皆， 衣を 重ねているから．
- 敷物を 自分のために 織り， 麻と 紫の 衣を 着ている．
- 夫は 名を 知られた 人で ／その 地の 長老らと 城門で 座に 着いている．
- 彼女は 亞麻布を 織って 賣り， 帶を 商人に 渡す．

- Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.
- She opens her mouth in wisdom, And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
- She looks well to the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.
- Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
- "Many daughters have done nobly, But you excel them all."

- 力と 氣品をまとい， 未來にほほえみかける．
- 口を 開いて 知惠の 言葉を 語り ／慈しみの 敎えをその 舌にのせる．
- 一族の 樣子によく 目を 配り ／怠惰の パン を 食べることはない．
- 息子らは 立って 彼女を 幸いな 人と 呼び ／夫は 彼女をたたえて 言う．
- 「有能な 女は 多いが ／あなたはなお， そのすべてにまさる 」と．

- Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
- Give her the product of her hands, And let her works praise her in the gates.

- あでやかさは 欺き， 美しさは 空しい． 主を 畏れる 女こそ， たたえられる．
- 彼女にその 手の 實りを 報いよ． その 業を 町の 城門でたたえよ．
