창세기 49:1-50:26

 야곱은 열두 아들을 불러 모아 각자에게 축복 예언을 하고 일생을 마쳤다. 요셉은 야곱의 유언대로 그를 선영에 장사했다. 요셉도 110세에 죽어 애굽에 장사되었다.
  
  야곱의 12지파 축복 예언(49:1-49:33)    
 
  1. Then Jacob called for his sons and said: "Gather around so I can tell you what will happen to you in days to come.
  2. "Assemble and listen, sons of Jacob; listen to your father Israel.
  3. "Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, the first sign of my strength, excelling in honor, excelling in power.
  4. Turbulent as the waters, you will no longer excel, for you went up onto your father's bed, onto my couch and defiled it.
  5. "Simeon and Levi are brothers-- their swords are weapons of violence.
  1. 그 후 야곱은 유언을 남기려고 아들들을 불렀다. "모두들 모여라. 훗날 너희에게 일어날 일을 내가 일러주리라.
  2. 야곱의 아들들아 모여와 들어라. 너희의 아비 이스라엘의 말을 들어라.
  3. 르우벤아 너는 내 맏아들, 내 힘, 내 정력의 첫 열매라, 너무 우쭐하고 세차구나.
  4. 터져 나오는 물줄기 같아, 걷잡을 수 없는 홍수 같아, 끝내 맏아들 구실을 하지 못하리라. 제 아비의 침상에 기어들어 그 소실마저 범한 녀석!
  5. 시므온과 레위는 단짝이라, 칼만 잡으면 사나워져
  1. Let me not enter their council, let me not join their assembly, for they have killed men in their anger and hamstrung oxen as they pleased.
  2. Cursed be their anger, so fierce, and their fury, so cruel! I will scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel.
  3. "Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons will bow down to you.
  4. You are a lion's cub, O Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness--who dares to rouse him?
  5. The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his.
  1. 나는 그들의 모의에 끼여들 생각도 없고 그들이 모이는 자리에 섞일 마음도 없다. 홧김에 사람을 쳐죽이고 닥치는 대로 소를 박살내는 녀석들!
  2. 저주받으리라. 화가 나면 모질게 굴고, 골이 나면 잔인해지는 것들! 내가 그들을 야곱의 자손 가운데서 분산시키고 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 흩뜨리리라.
  3. 유다, 너는 네 형제들의 찬양을 받으리라. 네 손은 원수들의 멱살을 잡겠고 네 아비의 자식들이 네 앞에 엎드리리라.
  4. 유다는 사자 새끼, 아들아, 너야말로 짐승을 덮쳐 뜯어먹고는 배를 깔고 엎드린 숫사자라 할까?
  5. 왕의 지팡이가 유다를 떠나지 아니하리라. 지휘봉이 다리 사이에서 떠나지 아니하리라. 참으로 그 자리를 차지할 분이 와서 만백성이 그에게 순종하게 되리라.
  1. He will tether his donkey to a vine, his colt to the choicest branch; he will wash his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.
  2. His eyes will be darker than wine, his teeth whiter than milk.
  3. "Zebulun will live by the seashore and become a haven for ships; his border will extend toward Sidon.
  4. "Issachar is a rawboned donkey lying down between two saddlebags.
  5. When he sees how good is his resting place and how pleasant is his land, he will bend his shoulder to the burden and submit to forced labor.
  1. 포도나무에 나귀를 예사로 매어놓고 고급 포도나무에 새끼 나귀를 예사로 매어두리라. 포도주로 옷을 빨고 포도의 붉은 즙으로 겉옷까지 빨리라.
  2. 눈은 포도주로 상기되고 이는 우유로 희어지리라.
  3. 즈불룬은 바닷가에 살며, 배가 쉬는 항구가 되고 그의 경계는 시돈에 이르리라.
  4. 이싸갈은 힘센 나귀, 양 우리 사이에 엎드려 있으며
  5. 쉬기 좋아하고 제 고장 아름다운 줄만 알다가 어깨를 디밀고 억지로 짐이나 지는 일꾼이 되었구나.
  1. "Dan will provide justice for his people as one of the tribes of Israel.
  2. Dan will be a serpent by the roadside, a viper along the path, that bites the horse's heels so that its rider tumbles backward.
  3. "I look for your deliverance, O LORD.
  4. "Gad will be attacked by a band of raiders, but he will attack them at their heels.
  5. "Asher's food will be rich; he will provide delicacies fit for a king.
  1. 단은 이스라엘 어느 지파 못지않게 제 백성을 다스리리라.
  2. 단은 길가에 숨어 있는 뱀, 오솔길에서 기다리고 있는 독사라. 말 발굽을 물어 말 탄 사람을 뒤로 떨어뜨린다.
  3. 야훼여, 나 당신의 구원을 기다립니다.
  4. 가드는 적군의 침입을 당하겠으나, 그 침입자의 뒤통수를 치리라.
  5. 아셀은 먹을 것이 넉넉하여, 왕에게 진상하리라.
  1. "Naphtali is a doe set free that bears beautiful fawns.
  2. "Joseph is a fruitful vine, a fruitful vine near a spring, whose branches climb over a wall.
  3. With bitterness archers attacked him; they shot at him with hostility.
  4. But his bow remained steady, his strong arms stayed limber, because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
  5. because of your father's God, who helps you, because of the Almighty, who blesses you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breast and womb.
  1. 납달리는 풀어놓은 암사슴, 아양떠는 소리 요란하구나.
  2. 요셉은 열매가 주렁주렁한 가지, 샘가에 늘어진, 열매가 주렁주렁한 가지, 담장 너머 뻗어가는 가지라.
  3. 사람들이 활을 쏘며 무섭게 다그쳐 몰려왔다가
  4. 활은 꺾이고 팔마다 힘줄도 끊어졌다. 이것은 야곱의 강하신 이의 팔이 하신 일, 이스라엘 목자의 이름으로 이룩된 일이다.
  5. 너를 돕는 네 아비의 하느님께서 하신 일, 너에게 복을 내리시는 전능하신 하느님께서 하신 일이다. 그 하느님께서 위로 하늘에서 내리시는 복, 땅 속에 숨겨두신 지하수의 복, 젖가슴과 태에서 솟아나게 하시는 복,
  1. Your father's blessings are greater than the blessings of the ancient mountains, than the bounty of the age-old hills. Let all these rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince among his brothers.
  2. "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder."
  3. All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them, giving each the blessing appropriate to him.
  4. Then he gave them these instructions: "I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
  5. the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in Canaan, which Abraham bought as a burial place from Ephron the Hittite, along with the field.
  1. 이삭과 꽃을 피우시는 복, 태곳적 산맥에서 흘러내리시는 복, 영원한 언덕에서 쏟아 내리시는 풍성한 복, 이런 복을 요셉의 머리에, 뭇 형제들 가운데서 뽑힌 요셉의 정수리에 내리시기를 비노라.
  2. 베냐민은 약탈하는 늑대라, 아침에는 그 움킨 것을 삼키고 저녁에는 잡은 것을 나누어 먹는다.
  3. 이들이 모두 이스라엘의 열두 지파인데 그들의 아버지는 이렇게 그들 하나하나에게 알맞는 복을 빌어주고는
  4. 분부하였다. "나는 이제 세상을 떠나게 되었다. 나를 헷 사람 에브론의 밭에 있는 굴, 내 선조들 옆에 묻어다오.
  5. 그 굴은 가나안 땅 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있다. 그것은 아브라함께서 묏자리로 쓰려고 헷 사람 에브론에게서 밭째 사둔 것이다.
  1. There Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried, there Isaac and his wife Rebekah were buried, and there I buried Leah.
  2. The field and the cave in it were bought from the Hittites. "
  3. When Jacob had finished giving instructions to his sons, he drew his feet up into the bed, breathed his last and was gathered to his people.
  1. 거기에는 아브라함과 사라 두 분이 묻혀 있고, 이사악과 리브가 두 분도 묻혀 있고, 나도 레아를 거기에다 묻었다.
  2. 그 밭과 거기에 있는 굴은 헷 사람들에게서 산 것이다."
  3. 야곱은 이렇게 아들들에게 분부하고 나서 침상에 바로 누워 마지막 숨을 거두고 세상을 떠났다.
 
  야곱의 장례와 요셉의 죽음(50:1-50:26)    
 
  1. Joseph threw himself upon his father and wept over him and kissed him.
  2. Then Joseph directed the physicians in his service to embalm his father Israel. So the physicians embalmed him,
  3. taking a full forty days, for that was the time required for embalming. And the Egyptians mourned for him seventy days.
  4. When the days of mourning had passed, Joseph said to Pharaoh's court, "If I have found favor in your eyes, speak to Pharaoh for me. Tell him,
  5. 'My father made me swear an oath and said, "I am about to die; bury me in the tomb I dug for myself in the land of Canaan." Now let me go up and bury my father; then I will return.' "
  1. 요셉은 아버지의 얼굴에 엎드려 울며 입을 맞추었다.
  2. 요셉은 자기의 시의들을 시켜 아버지의 몸을 썩지 않게 만들었다.
  3. 이렇게 썩지 않게 만드는 데 채워야 하는 날수 사십 일이 지났다. 이집트인들은 그를 생각하고 칠십 일 동안 곡을 했다.
  4. 곡하는 날이 지나자 요셉은 파라오의 궁에 전갈을 보냈다. "여러분, 좋으시다면 파라오에게 이렇게 한 말씀 전해 주시오.
  5. '제 아버지가 운명하시면서 당신께서 가나안 땅에 파둔 무덤에 묻어달라고 저에게 맹세를 시키셨습니다. 그러니 제가 올라가 제 아버지를 장사지내고 오게 허락해 주십시오.'"
  1. Pharaoh said, "Go up and bury your father, as he made you swear to do."
  2. So Joseph went up to bury his father. All Pharaoh's officials accompanied him--the dignitaries of his court and all the dignitaries of Egypt-
  3. besides all the members of Joseph's household and his brothers and those belonging to his father's household. Only their children and their flocks and herds were left in Goshen.
  4. Chariots and horsemen also went up with him. It was a very large company.
  5. When they reached the threshing floor of Atad, near the Jordan, they lamented loudly and bitterly; and there Joseph observed a seven-day period of mourning for his father.
  1. 파라오가 "그분이 맹세시킨 대로 올라가 선친을 장사지내도록 하오." 하고 윤허를 내리자,
  2. 요셉은 아버지를 묻으러 올라갔다. 파라오의 모든 신하와 그 궁에 있는 장로들과 이집트 전국에 널려 있는 모든 장로와
  3. 요셉의 온 집안과 그 형제들과 아버지의 집안도, 그들에게 딸린 아이들과 양과 소들만은 고센 땅에 남겨둔 채, 모두 그를 따라 나섰다.
  4. 또 병거와 기병까지 그를 모셨다. 그것은 굉장한 행렬이었다.
  5. 그들은 요르단 강 건너편에 있는 아닷의 타작 마당에 이르러 성대하고 장중하게 장례식을 올렸는데 요셉은 아버지를 생각하고 칠 일 동안 곡했다.
  1. When the Canaanites who lived there saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad, they said, "The Egyptians are holding a solemn ceremony of mourning." That is why that place near the Jordan is called Abel Mizraim.
  2. So Jacob's sons did as he had commanded them:
  3. They carried him to the land of Canaan and buried him in the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre, which Abraham had bought as a burial place from Ephron the Hittite, along with the field.
  4. After burying his father, Joseph returned to Egypt, together with his brothers and all the others who had gone with him to bury his father.
  5. When Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, "What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?"
  1. 그 지방에 사는 가나안 사람들은 아닷의 타작 마당에서 그들이 곡하는 것을 보고 "이집트인들이 중대한 상사를 당했나보다." 하며 그 곳을 아벨미스라임이라 부르기 시작하였다. 그 곳은 요르단 강 건너편이다.
  2. 이렇게 야곱의 아들들은 아버지의 명령대로 하였다.
  3. 아들들은 그의 시신을 가나안 땅으로 모셔다가 아브라함이 헷 사람 에브론에게서 밭째 사서 묏자리로 삼은 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있는 굴에 안장하였다.
  4. 요셉은 아버지의 장례를 치르고 같이 갔던 형제와 모든 사람과 함께 이집트로 돌아왔다.
  5. 요셉의 형들은 아버지가 돌아가시자 "어쩌면 요셉은 우리가 미워 우리에게서 당한 온갖 억울함을 앙갚음할지도 모르겠다." 하면서
  1. So they sent word to Joseph, saying, "Your father left these instructions before he died:
  2. 'This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.' Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father." When their message came to him, Joseph wept.
  3. His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. "We are your slaves," they said.
  4. But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God?
  5. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
  1. 요셉 앞에 나가 빌었다. "아버지께서는 세상 떠나시기 전에 당신의 말씀을 요셉에게 전하라 하시면서 이렇게 분부하셨습니다.
  2. '형들이 악의로 한 일이건 어떻게 마음을 잘못 먹고 한 일이건 못할 짓 한 것을 용서해 주어라. 네 아비를 돌보시던 하느님의 종들이 비록 악의에 찬 일을 했지만 용서해 주어라.'" 요셉은 이 말을 들으며 울었다.
  3. 형들도 울며 그 앞에 조아렸다. "이제 우리를 종으로 삼아다오."
  4. "두려워하지들 마십시오. 내가 하느님 대신 벌이라도 내릴 듯 싶습니까?"
  5. 하면서 요셉은 이렇게 말하였다. "나에게 못할 짓을 꾸민 것은 틀림없이 형들이오. 하지만 하느님께서는 도리어 그것을 좋게 꾸미시어 오늘날 이렇게 뭇 백성을 살리시지 않았습니까?
  1. So then, don't be afraid. I will provide for you and your children." And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.
  2. Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father's family. He lived a hundred and ten years
  3. and saw the third generation of Ephraim's children. Also the children of Makir son of Manasseh were placed at birth on Joseph's knees.
  4. Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."
  5. And Joseph made the sons of Israel swear an oath and said, "God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up from this place."
  1. 그러니 이제 두려워하지들 마십시오. 내가 형들과 형들의 어린것들을 돌봐 드리리다." 이렇게 위로하는 요셉의 말을 들으며 그들은 가슴이 터지는 듯하였다.
  2. 그 후 아버지의 집안과 함께 이집트에서 살다보니 요셉의 나이 백십 세가 되었다.
  3. 그는 에브라임의 후손 삼 대를 보았다. 그리고 므나쎄의 아들 마길이 낳은 아이들도 자기 무릎에 받아 아들 항렬에 들였다.
  4. 요셉이 일가 사람들에게 말하였다. "나는 이제 죽을 터이지만 하느님께서는 반드시 너희를 찾아오시어 이 땅에서 이끌어내시고 아브라함과 이사악, 야곱에게 주시겠다고 맹세하신 땅으로 올라가게 하실 것이다."
  5. 다시 요셉은 이스라엘 자손에게 서약을 시켰다. "하느님께서 너희를 반드시 찾아오실 것이다. 너희는 그 때 여기에서 내 뼈를 가지고 그리로 올라가거라."
  1. So Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him, he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.
  1. 요셉이 백십 세에 죽자 사람들이 그를 썩지 않게 만들어 관에 넣어 이집트에 모셨다.
