마태복음 25:31-26:13

 예수님께서는 양과 염소의 비유를 통해 최후의 심판을 경고하셨다. 이 때 대제사장들과 장로들은 예수님을 잡아 죽이기 위해 한창 의논하고 있었다. 한편 베다니에 오신 예수님에게 마리아는 향유를 부어 메시아의 장사를 예비하였다.
  
  심판의 경고(25:31-25:46)    
 
  1. "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.
  2. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
  3. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
  4. "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.
  5. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,
  1. "사람의 아들이 영광을 떨치며 모든 천사들을 거느리고 와서 영광스러운 왕좌에 앉게 되면
  2. 모든 민족들을 앞에 불러놓고 마치 목자가 양과 염소를 갈라놓듯이 그들을 갈라
  3. 양은 오른편에, 염소는 왼편에 자리잡게 할 것이다.
  4. 그 때에 그 임금은 자기 오른편에 있는 사람들에게 이렇게 말할 것이다. '너희는 내 아버지의 복을 받은 사람들이니 와서 세상 창조 때부터 너희를 위하여 준비한 이 나라를 차지하여라.
  5. 너희는 내가 굶주렸을 때에 먹을 것을 주었고 목말랐을 때에 마실 것을 주었으며 나그네 되었을 때에 따뜻하게 맞이하였다.
  1. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
  2. "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
  3. When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?
  4. When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
  5. "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
  1. 또 헐벗었을 때에 입을 것을 주었으며 병들었을 때에 돌보아 주었고 감옥에 갇혔을 때에 찾아주었다.'
  2. 이 말을 듣고 의인들은 이렇게 말할 것이다. '주님, 저희가 언제 주님께서 주리신 것을 보고 잡수실 것을 드렸으며 목마르신 것을 보고 마실 것을 드렸습니까?
  3. 또 언제 주님께서 나그네 되신 것을 보고 따뜻이 맞아들였으며 헐벗으신 것을 보고 입을 것을 드렸으며,
  4. 언제 주님께서 병드셨거나 감옥에 갇히신 것을 보고 저희가 찾아가 뵈었습니까?'
  5. 그러면 임금은 '분명히 말한다. 너희가 여기 있는 형제 중에 가장 보잘것없는 사람 하나에게 해준 것이 바로 나에게 해준 것이다.' 하고 말할 것이다."
  1. "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
  2. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
  3. I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
  4. "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
  5. "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
  1. "그리고 왼편에 있는 사람들에게는 이렇게 말할 것이다. '이 저주받은 자들아, 나에게서 떠나 악마와 그의 졸도들을 가두려고 준비한 영원한 불 속에 들어가라.
  2. 너희는 내가 주렸을 때에 먹을 것을 주지 않았고, 목말랐을 때에 마실 것을 주지 않았으며
  3. 나그네 되었을 때에 따뜻하게 맞이하지 않았고, 헐벗었을 때에 입을 것을 주지 않았으며, 또 병들었을 때나 감옥에 갇혔을 때에 돌보아 주지 않았다.'
  4. 이 말을 듣고 그들도 이렇게 대답할 것이다. '주님, 주님께서 언제 굶주리고 목마르셨으며, 언제 나그네 되시고 헐벗으셨으며, 또 언제 병드시고 감옥에 갇히셨기에 저희가 모른 체하고 돌보아 드리지 않았다는 말씀입니까?'
  5. 그러면 임금은 '똑똑히 들어라. 여기 있는 형제들 중에 가장 보잘것없는 사람 하나에게 해주지 않은 것이 곧 나에게 해주지 않은 것이다.' 하고 말할 것이다.
  1. "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
  1. 이리하여 그들은 영원히 벌받는 곳으로 쫓겨날 것이며, 의인들은 영원한 생명의 나라로 들어갈 것이다."
 
  향유 사건(26:1-26:13)    
 
  1. When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
  2. "As you know, the Passover is two days away--and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified."
  3. Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
  4. and they plotted to arrest Jesus in some sly way and kill him.
  5. "But not during the Feast," they said, "or there may be a riot among the people."
  1. 예수께서 이 말씀을 모두 마치시고 제자들에게
  2. "너희가 알다시피 이제 이틀만 있으면 과월절이 되는데 그 때에는 사람의 아들이 잡혀가 십자가형을 받게 될 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
  3. 그 무렵 대사제들과 백성의 원로들이 가야파라는 대사제 관저에 모여
  4. 흉계를 꾸며 예수를 잡아죽이려고 모의하였다.
  5. 그러면서도 "백성이 소동을 일으킬지 모르니 축제 기간만은 피하자." 하였다.
  1. While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper,
  2. a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.
  3. When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked.
  4. "This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor."
  5. Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.
  1. 그 때 예수께서는 베다니아에 있는 나병환자 시몬의 집에 계셨는데
  2. 어떤 여자가 매우 값진 향유가 든 옥합을 가지고 와서 식탁에 앉으신 예수의 머리에 부었다.
  3. 이것을 본 제자들은 분개하여 "이렇게 낭비를 하다니!
  4. 이것을 팔면 많은 돈을 받아 가난한 사람들에게 줄 수 있을텐데." 하고 말했다.
  5. 예수께서는 그것을 아시고 "이 여자는 나에게 갸륵한 일을 했는데 왜 괴롭히느냐?
  1. The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.
  2. When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.
  3. I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her."
  1. 가난한 사람들은 언제나 너희 곁에 있겠지만 나는 너희와 언제까지나 함께 있지는 않을 것이다.
  2. 이 여자가 내 몸에 향유를 부은 것은 나의 장례를 위하여 한 것이다.
  3. 나는 분명히 말한다. 온 세상 어디든지 이 복음이 전해지는 곳마다 이 여자가 한 일도 알려져서 사람들이 기억하게 될 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.
