민수기 35:1-36:13

 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 그들의 기업 중 일부를 레위인에게 줄 것을 명하셨다. 레위인은 모두 48성읍을 받게 되었는데, 하나님께서는 그 중 6성읍을 도피성으로 정하여 과실로 살인한 자들이 피할 수 있게 하셨다. 슬로브핫 딸들은 하나님께서 제정하신 여성 상속법에 따라 자신과 같은 지파 남자와 결혼하여 기업을 지켰다.
  
  레위 지파의 성읍(35:1-35:34)    
 
  1. On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, the LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Command the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. And give them pasturelands around the towns.
  3. Then they will have towns to live in and pasturelands for their cattle, flocks and all their other livestock.
  4. "The pasturelands around the towns that you give the Levites will extend out fifteen hundred feet from the town wall.
  5. Outside the town, measure three thousand feet on the east side, three thousand on the south side, three thousand on the west and three thousand on the north, with the town in the center. They will have this area as pastureland for the towns.
  1. 야훼께서 예리고 근처 요르단 강 가 모압 평야에서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 이스라엘 백성에게 지시하여 그들이 유산으로 받을 소유 가운데서 레위인들에게 몸붙여 살 성읍들을 떼어주고 그 성읍들 주위에 있는 목장도 레위인들에게 주라고 하여라.
  3. 그 성읍들은 그들이 살 고장이고 그 성읍들에 딸린 목장은 그들의 재산인 모든 가축과 짐승을 칠 곳이다.
  4. 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성읍들에 딸린 목장은 성벽으로부터 밖으로 사방 천 척 안의 땅이다.
  5. 성읍을 중심으로 측량하여 바깥 동쪽으로 이천 척, 남쪽으로 이천 척, 서쪽으로 이천 척, 북쪽으로 이천 척 안에 드는 땅이 그 성읍들에 딸린 그들의 목장이다.
  1. "Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone may flee. In addition, give them forty-two other towns.
  2. In all you must give the Levites forty-eight towns, together with their pasturelands.
  3. The towns you give the Levites from the land the Israelites possess are to be given in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: Take many towns from a tribe that has many, but few from one that has few."
  4. Then the LORD said to Moses:
  5. "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan,
  1. 살인자가 피신할 도피성으로 정할 여섯 성읍은 너희가 레위인들에게 줄 성읍 가운데 들어 있어야 한다. 이 밖에도 마흔두 도시를 더 주어야 한다.
  2. 그러니 너희가 레위인들에게 줄 성읍은 모두 마흔여덟 개다. 그 성읍들과 함께 거기에 딸린 목장들도 주어야 한다.
  3. 이렇게 이스라엘 백성의 소유 가운데서 갈라주는데, 큰 지파에서는 많이 갈라주고 작은 지파에서는 적게 갈라주어라. 각기 배당받은 유산의 크고 작은 정도에 따라 레위인들에게 성읍을 얼마씩 갈라주어라."
  4. 야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  5. "너는 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 일러주어라. '요르단 강을 건너 가나안 땅에 들어가거든,
  1. select some towns to be your cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone accidentally may flee.
  2. They will be places of refuge from the avenger, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly.
  3. These six towns you give will be your cities of refuge.
  4. Give three on this side of the Jordan and three in Canaan as cities of refuge.
  5. These six towns will be a place of refuge for Israelites, aliens and any other people living among them, so that anyone who has killed another accidentally can flee there.
  1. 너희는 몇몇 성읍들을 선정하여 실수로 살인한 사람이 피신할 수 있는 도피성으로 삼아라.
  2. 그 성읍들은 살인자가 회중 앞에서 재판도 받아보지 못하고 보복자의 손에 죽는 일이 없도록 피할 수 있는 도피성이 될 것이다.
  3. 여섯 성읍을 지정하여 너희의 도피성으로 삼아라.
  4. 그 가운데 셋은 요르단 강 건너편에 있는 성읍들 가운데서 지정하고, 나머지 셋은 가나안 땅에 있는 성읍들 가운데서 지정하여라. 그러면 그 성읍들이 도피성이 될 것이다.
  5. 이스라엘 백성뿐 아니라 너희 가운데 몸붙여 사는 외국인이나 거류자로서 실수로 살인한 사람도 모두 이 여섯 도피성에 피신할 수 있다.
  1. " 'If a man strikes someone with an iron object so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
  2. Or if anyone has a stone in his hand that could kill, and he strikes someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
  3. Or if anyone has a wooden object in his hand that could kill, and he hits someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
  4. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.
  5. If anyone with malice aforethought shoves another or throws something at him intentionally so that he dies
  1. 만일 쇠연장으로 남을 쳐죽였으면, 그는 살인범이다. 그러므로 그 살인범은 반드시 사형을 받아야 한다.
  2. 만일 사람을 죽일 수 있을 만한 돌로 남을 쳐죽였으면 그도 살인범이다. 그러므로 그 살인범도 반드시 사형을 받아야 한다.
  3. 만일 사람을 죽일 수 있을 만한 나무로 사람을 죽였으면 그도 살인범이다. 그러므로 그 살인범도 반드시 사형을 받아야 한다.
  4. 피를 보복할 사람이 그 살인범을 죽일 것이다. 만나는 대로 죽일 수 있다.
  5. 미워하여 밀쳤거나 악의를 품고 무엇을 던져 남을 죽였거나
  1. or if in hostility he hits him with his fist so that he dies, that person shall be put to death; he is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
  2. " 'But if without hostility someone suddenly shoves another or throws something at him unintentionally
  3. or, without seeing him, drops a stone on him that could kill him, and he dies, then since he was not his enemy and he did not intend to harm him,
  4. the assembly must judge between him and the avenger of blood according to these regulations.
  5. The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send him back to the city of refuge to which he fled. He must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
  1. 적의를 품고 주먹으로 쳐죽였으면, 그 가해자는 반드시 사형을 받아야 한다. 그는 살인범이므로 피를 보복할 사람이 그 살인범을 만나는 대로 죽일 수 있다.
  2. 만일에 어쩌다가 적의없이 밀쳤거나 악의없이 어떤 연장을 던졌거나,
  3. 미처 보지 못하고 남의 위에 돌을 떨어뜨려서 사람을 죽였으면, 적의를 지닌 것도 아니고 남을 해치려고 한 것도 아니지만,
  4. 일단 이 법령을 따라 재판을 받아야 한다. 회중은 모여서 그 가해자와 피를 보복할 사람 사이를 판가름해 주어야 한다.
  5. 회중은 피를 보복할 사람의 손에서 그 살인자를 건져주어야 한다. 회중은 그가 피신했던 도피성으로 그를 돌려보낼 것이다. 그는 거룩한 기름을 부어 성별해 세운 당시의 대사제가 죽을 때까지 거기에서 살아야 한다.
  1. " 'But if the accused ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he has fled
  2. and the avenger of blood finds him outside the city, the avenger of blood may kill the accused without being guilty of murder.
  3. The accused must stay in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest; only after the death of the high priest may he return to his own property.
  4. " 'These are to be legal requirements for you throughout the generations to come, wherever you live.
  5. " 'Anyone who kills a person is to be put to death as a murderer only on the testimony of witnesses. But no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.
  1. 만일 그 살인자가 피신했던 도피성에서 나왔다가
  2. 도피성 지경 바깥에서 피를 보복할 사람과 만났을 경우에는 피를 보복할 사람이 그 살인자를 죽여도 된다. 그것은 살인죄가 되지 않는다.
  3. 살인자는 대사제가 죽을 때까지 그 도피성에서 살다가 대사제가 죽은 다음에야 제 소유가 있는 땅으로 돌아갈 수 있다.
  4. 너희가 어디에서 살든지 대대로 지켜야 할 법규는 이와 같다.
  5. 누구든지 사람을 죽였을 경우에는 여러 증인의 증언이 있어야 그 살인범을 처형할 수 있다. 증인이 하나밖에 없을 때에는 사형 언도를 내리지 못한다.
  1. " 'Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death.
  2. " 'Do not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a city of refuge and so allow him to go back and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.
  3. " 'Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
  4. Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.' "
  1. 너희는 사형 언도를 받은 살인범의 목숨을 속전을 받고 살려주어서는 안 된다. 그를 반드시 사형시켜야 한다.
  2. 또 너희는 도피성에 피신한 사람을 대사제가 죽기 전에 속전을 받고 제 고장으로 돌아가 살게 해서는 안 된다
  3. 너희가 사는 땅을 더럽히지 마라. 피는 땅을 더럽히는 것이다. 땅에 흘린 피는 그 피를 흘린 사람의 피가 아니고서는 그 원한을 풀어줄 길이 없다.
  4. 너희가 살 땅은 내가 내려와 살 땅이니 그 땅을 부정하게 만들어서는 안 된다. 야훼가 이스라엘 백성 가운데 내려와 살 것이다.'"
 
  슬로브핫 딸들의 기업(36:1-36:13)    
 
  1. The family heads of the clan of Gilead son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, who were from the clans of the descendants of Joseph, came and spoke before Moses and the leaders, the heads of the Israelite families.
  2. They said, "When the LORD commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance to the Israelites by lot, he ordered you to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.
  3. Now suppose they marry men from other Israelite tribes; then their inheritance will be taken from our ancestral inheritance and added to that of the tribe they marry into. And so part of the inheritance allotted to us will be taken away.
  4. When the Year of Jubilee for the Israelites comes, their inheritance will be added to that of the tribe into which they marry, and their property will be taken from the tribal inheritance of our forefathers."
  5. Then at the LORD's command Moses gave this order to the Israelites: "What the tribe of the descendants of Joseph is saying is right.
  1. 요셉 후손의 갈래 가운데 므나쎄의 손자이자 마길의 아들인 길르앗이라는 사람이 있었다. 그 후손이 되는 각 갈래의 가문 어른들이 나서서 모세와 이스라엘 백성의 대표들인 각 가문 어른들에게 물었다.
  2. "나리께서는 주사위를 던져 이스라엘 백성에게 이 땅을 유산으로 나누어주라는 명령을 야훼께 받지 않으셨습니까? 나리께서는 또 우리의 동기 슬롭핫의 유산을 그의 딸들에게 주라는 명령을 야훼께 받지 않으셨습니까?
  3. 그런데 그들이 이스라엘 백성 중 어느 다른 지파 사람과 결혼하게 되면, 그들의 유산은 우리 가문의 유산에서 떨어져 나가 그들이 시집간 지파의 유산에 보태질 것입니다. 결국 우리의 몫으로 돌아온 유산은 그만큼 줄어들게 됩니다.
  4. 이스라엘 백성에게 희년이 돌아오면 그들의 유산은 그들이 시집간 지파의 유산에 붙고 말 것입니다. 그러면, 우리 가문 지파의 유산은 결국 그만큼 잃어버리는 셈입니다."
  5. 모세가 야훼의 명을 받들어 이스라엘 백성에게 일렀다. "요셉의 후손 지파들이 하는 말을 듣고 보니 과연 그렇다.
  1. This is what the LORD commands for Zelophehad's daughters: They may marry anyone they please as long as they marry within the tribal clan of their father.
  2. No inheritance in Israel is to pass from tribe to tribe, for every Israelite shall keep the tribal land inherited from his forefathers.
  3. Every daughter who inherits land in any Israelite tribe must marry someone in her father's tribal clan, so that every Israelite will possess the inheritance of his fathers.
  4. No inheritance may pass from tribe to tribe, for each Israelite tribe is to keep the land it inherits."
  5. So Zelophehad's daughters did as the LORD commanded Moses.
  1. 야훼께서 슬롭핫의 딸들의 문제는 이렇게 해결하라고 명을 내리셨다. 그들은 마음에 드는 사람이면 누구하고나 결혼할 수 있지만, 자기 가문 지파 사람하고만 결혼할 수 있다.
  2. 이스라엘 백성의 유산은 이 지파에서 저 지파로 옮기지 못한다. 이스라엘 백성은 아무도 선조에게서 물려받은 자기 지파의 유산을 떠나지 못한다.
  3. 그러므로 이스라엘 백성의 지파 가운데서 딸이 유산을 물려받았을 경우에는 그 딸은 자기 지파에 속한 사람하고만 결혼할 수 있다. 그리하여 이스라엘 백성은 누구든지 자기 가문의 유산을 그대로 상속하도록 해야 한다.
  4. 유산은 이 지파에서 저 지파로 옮기지 못한다. 이스라엘 백성은 어느 지파든지 물려받은 유산을 떠나지 못한다."
  5. 슬롭핫의 딸들은 야훼께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 하였다.
  1. Zelophehad's daughters--Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah--married their cousins on their father's side.
  2. They married within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in their father's clan and tribe.
  3. These are the commands and regulations the LORD gave through Moses to the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
  1. 마흘라, 디르사, 호글라, 밀가, 노아, 이들 슬롭핫의 딸들은 모두 사촌 오빠들에게 시집갔다.
  2. 이렇게 그들은 요셉의 후손 갈래 가운데서도 므나쎄 후손 갈래 집안에 시집갔으므로 그들의 유산이 자기 아버지의 갈래가 속한 지파에 그대로 남아 있게 되었다.
  3. 예리고 근처 요르단 강 가 모압 평야에서 모세를 시켜 이스라엘 백성에게 내리신 야훼의 계명과 법규는 이와 같다.
