열왕기상 8:1-8:66

 솔로몬은 언약궤를 새로 지은 성전으로 옮겨 놓았고, 하나님께서는 그 곳에 영광으로 임재하셨다. 성전을 하나님께 봉헌하는 자리에서 솔로몬은 회개와 헌신의 기도를 드리고 백성들을 축복하였다.
  
  성전에 안치된 언약궤(8:1-8:11)    
 
  1. Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the LORD's covenant from Zion, the City of David.
  2. All the men of Israel came together to King Solomon at the time of the festival in the month of Ethanim, the seventh month.
  3. When all the elders of Israel had arrived, the priests took up the ark,
  4. and they brought up the ark of the LORD and the Tent of Meeting and all the sacred furnishings in it. The priests and Levites carried them up,
  5. and King Solomon and the entire assembly of Israel that had gathered about him were before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be recorded or counted.
  1. 그리고 나서 솔로몬은 야훼의 계약궤를 시온의 다윗 성에서 모셔 오려고 이스라엘의 장로들과 이스라엘 백성 각 가문의 대표들인 지파의 어른들을 예루살렘으로 소집하였다.
  2. 이스라엘 사람들은 모두 제칠월인 에다님월 절기에 솔로몬 왕 앞으로 모였다.
  3. 이스라엘의 모든 장로들이 도착하자 사제들이 계약궤를 운반하였다.
  4. 그들은 야훼의 궤뿐 아니라 만남의 장막과 그 안에 있는 거룩한 각종 기물들을 날랐는데 사제와 레위인들이 그것들을 날랐다.
  5. 솔로몬 왕과 그 앞에 모인 온 이스라엘 회중이 궤 앞에서 이루 헤아릴 수 없이 많은 양과 소를 잡아 바쳤다.
  1. The priests then brought the ark of the LORD's covenant to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Holy Place, and put it beneath the wings of the cherubim.
  2. The cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark and overshadowed the ark and its carrying poles.
  3. These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Place in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Holy Place; and they are still there today.
  4. There was nothing in the ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.
  5. When the priests withdrew from the Holy Place, the cloud filled the temple of the LORD.
  1. 그리고 나서 사제들이 야훼의 계약궤를 성전의 밀실, 지성소 거룹의 날개 아래 마련된 자리에 안치해 놓았다.
  2. 거룹들은 날개를 궤가 있는 장소 위로 펼쳐서 그 궤와 채 위를 덮었다.
  3. 그 채들은 끝이 밀실 앞 성소에서 보일 정도로 길었다. 그러나 밖에서는 볼 수 없었다. 그 채는 오늘까지 그 곳에 남아 있다.
  4. 궤 안에는 호렙에서 모세가 넣어둔 두 돌판 곧, 이스라엘 백성이 이집트에서 나올 때 야훼께서 백성과 맺은 계약의 돌판 외에는 아무것도 없었다.
  5. 사제들이 성소에서 나올 때 구름이 야훼의 전에 차 있었다.
  1. And the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled his temple.
  1. 사제들은 그 구름이 너무 짙었으므로 서서 일을 볼 수가 없었다. 야훼의 영광이 야훼의 전에 가득 차 있었기 때문이다.
 
  성전 봉헌식(8:12-8:66)    
 
  1. Then Solomon said, "The LORD has said that he would dwell in a dark cloud;
  2. I have indeed built a magnificent temple for you, a place for you to dwell forever."
  3. While the whole assembly of Israel was standing there, the king turned around and blessed them.
  4. Then he said: "Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, who with his own hand has fulfilled what he promised with his own mouth to my father David. For he said,
  5. 'Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built for my Name to be there, but I have chosen David to rule my people Israel.'
  1. 그런 가운데 솔로몬이 입을 열었다. "야훼께서는 몸소 캄캄한 데 계시겠다고 하셨습니다.
  2. 영원히 여기에서 사십시오. 제가 주님을 위하여 이 전을 세웠습니다."
  3. 그리고 나서 왕은 모여 서 있는 이스라엘 온 회중 쪽으로 얼굴을 돌리고 복을 빌어주었다.
  4. 그는 말하였다. "이스라엘의 하느님 야훼께서 선왕 다윗에게 약속하신 말씀을 모두 그대로 이루어주셨으니, 그를 찬양하여라. 주께서는 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  5. '나는 내 백성 이스라엘을 이집트에서 데려내온 이래, 이스라엘의 어느 지파에서도 내 이름을 둘 전을 지을 성읍을 뽑지 않았고 내 이름을 불러 예배할 곳으로 예루살렘을 뽑았다. 그리고 너 다윗을 뽑아 내 백성 이스라엘을 거기에서 다스리게 하였다.'
  1. "My father David had it in his heart to build a temple for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
  2. But the LORD said to my father David, 'Because it was in your heart to build a temple for my Name, you did well to have this in your heart.
  3. Nevertheless, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, who is your own flesh and blood--he is the one who will build the temple for my Name.'
  4. "The LORD has kept the promise he made: I have succeeded David my father and now I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the LORD promised, and I have built the temple for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.
  5. I have provided a place there for the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD that he made with our fathers when he brought them out of Egypt."
  1. 이 말씀을 듣고 선왕 다윗께서는 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼의 이름을 위하여 성전을 지을 마음을 품게 되셨다.
  2. 그러나 야훼께서는 선왕 다윗에게 말씀하셨다. '네가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 짓겠다고 생각하는 것은 기특한 일이나
  3. 너는 나의 전을 짓지 못한다. 너에게서 태어날 너의 아들이 내 이름을 위하여 전을 지을 것이다.'
  4. 이제 그 약속을 야훼께서는 이렇게 이루어주셨다. 나는 야훼께서 약속해 주신 대로 선왕 다윗의 뒤를 이어 이스라엘의 왕위에 올랐고 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼의 이름을 위하여 이렇게 성전을 지었다.
  5. 나는 야훼께서 우리 선조들을 이집트에서 이끌어내실 때 맺어주신 계약을 넣은 궤를 둘 곳을 여기에 마련하였다."
  1. Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven
  2. and said: "O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below--you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.
  3. You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it--as it is today.
  4. "Now LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, 'You shall never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in all they do to walk before me as you have done.'
  5. And now, O God of Israel, let your word that you promised your servant David my father come true.
  1. 그리고 나서 솔로몬은 이스라엘 온 회중이 보는 가운데 야훼의 제단 앞에 서서 하늘을 향하여 두 팔을 들어올리고
  2. 기도하였다. "이스라엘의 하느님 야훼여, 위로 하늘이나 아래로 땅 그 어디에도 당신과 같은 신은 없습니다. 주님 앞에서 한마음으로 살아가는 종들에게 신실하시며 맺은 계약을 지켜주시는 분이십니다.
  3. 당신의 종인 저의 아버지 다윗에게 약속하신 것을 그대로 지켜주셨습니다. 친히 말씀하신 것을 오늘 이렇게 손수 이루어주셨습니다.
  4. 그러니 이제 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼여, 당신의 종인 저의 아버지 다윗에게 내리신 약속, '네가 내 앞에서 산 것처럼 네 자손들도 길을 벗어나지 않고 내 앞에서 살아가기만 하면 이스라엘 왕위에 오를 후손이 끊기지 아니하리라.' 하신 말씀을 지켜주십시오.
  5. 그러니 이제 이스라엘의 하느님이여, 당신의 종인 저의 아버지 다윗에게 약속하신 말씀을 이루어주십시오.
  1. "But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!
  2. Yet give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O LORD my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.
  3. May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, 'My Name shall be there,' so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place.
  4. Hear the supplication of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and when you hear, forgive.
  5. "When a man wrongs his neighbor and is required to take an oath and he comes and swears the oath before your altar in this temple,
  1. 그러나 하느님, 하느님께서 이 땅에 사람과 같이 자리잡으시기를 어찌 바라겠습니까? 저 하늘, 저 꼭대기 하늘도 주를 모시지 못할 터인데 소인이 지은 이 전이야말로 말해 무엇하겠습니까?
  2. 그러나 나의 하느님 야훼여, 소인의 기도와 간청에 귀를 기울여주십시오. 오늘 당신 앞에서 울부짖으며 드리는 이 기도를 들어주십시오.
  3. 당신께서 '내 이름이 거기에 있을 것이다.' 하고 말씀하신 곳입니다. 밤낮으로 이 전을 보살펴 주십시오. 소인이 이 곳을 바라보며 올리는 기도를 부디 들어주십시오.
  4. 소인과 당신의 백성 이스라엘이 이 곳을 바라보며 간절히 기도할 때 부디 들어주십시오. 당신께서 계시는 곳, 하늘에서 들어주십시오. 들으시고 용서해 주십시오.
  5. 누구든지 이웃에게 못할 짓을 하여 이 전으로 끌려와서 당신의 제단 앞에서, 그런 일을 하였으면 저주를 받겠다고 맹세하거든,
  1. then hear from heaven and act. Judge between your servants, condemning the guilty and bringing down on his own head what he has done. Declare the innocent not guilty, and so establish his innocence.
  2. "When your people Israel have been defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you, and when they turn back to you and confess your name, praying and making supplication to you in this temple,
  3. then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and bring them back to the land you gave to their fathers.
  4. "When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and when they pray toward this place and confess your name and turn from their sin because you have afflicted them,
  5. then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them the right way to live, and send rain on the land you gave your people for an inheritance.
  1. 당신께서 하늘에서 그 말을 들으시고 판결을 내려주십시오. 잘못이 있으면 그에게 벌을 내리시고 허물이 없으면 그에게 무죄를 선고해 주십시오.
  2. 당신의 백성 이스라엘이 당신께 죄를 얻어 적에게 패하였다가도, 뉘우치고 돌아와 이 전 안에서 당신의 이름을 기리며 간절히 빌거든
  3. 하늘에서 들으시고 당신의 백성 이스라엘의 잘못을 용서하여 주시고 그들의 선조들에게 주신 땅으로 돌아가게 해주십시오.
  4. 이 백성이 당신께 죄를 지어 그 값으로 하늘이 닫혀 비가 내리지 않게 되었을 때에도 그들이 만일 당신께 벌받은 줄 알고 잘못을 뉘우쳐 이 전을 바라보며 기도하고 당신의 이름을 기리거든
  5. 하늘에서 들으시고 소인의 잘못과 당신의 백성 이스라엘의 잘못을 용서해 주실 뿐 아니라 어떻게 살아야 할지 그 길도 가르쳐주십시오. 그리고 당신의 백성에게 유산으로 주신 당신의 땅에 다시 비를 내려주십시오.
  1. "When famine or plague comes to the land, or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers, or when an enemy besieges them in any of their cities, whatever disaster or disease may come,
  2. and when a prayer or plea is made by any of your people Israel--each one aware of the afflictions of his own heart, and spreading out his hands toward this temple-
  3. then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive and act; deal with each man according to all he does, since you know his heart (for you alone know the hearts of all men),
  4. so that they will fear you all the time they live in the land you gave our fathers.
  5. "As for the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel but has come from a distant land because of your name-
  1. 이 땅에 기근이 들거나 역병이 돌거나 곡식이 쭉정이가 되거나 깜부기가 나거나 메뚜기 누리떼가 갉아먹었을 때, 성읍들이 적에게 포위되었을 때, 재앙이 내려 온갖 전염병이 번졌을 때
  2. 당신의 백성 이스라엘이 마음으로부터 뉘우치고 이 전을 바라보며 팔을 벌리고 간절히 빌거든
  3. 당신께서는 자리잡으신 곳, 하늘에서 들으시고 용서해 주십시오. 사람의 마음을 아시는 하느님이여, 사람의 행실에 따라 갚아주십시오. 당신만이 모든 사람의 마음을 낱낱이 아십니다.
  4. 그리하시면 이스라엘 백성은 당신께서 선조들에게 주신 땅에서 살면서 영원히 당신을 경외할 것입니다.
  5. 당신의 백성 이스라엘이 아닌 외국인이라도 그가 당신의 명성을 듣고 멀리서 찾아오거든,
  1. for men will hear of your great name and your mighty hand and your outstretched arm--when he comes and prays toward this temple,
  2. then hear from heaven, your dwelling place, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you, so that all the peoples of the earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel, and may know that this house I have built bears your Name.
  3. "When your people go to war against their enemies, wherever you send them, and when they pray to the LORD toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name,
  4. then hear from heaven their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.
  5. "When they sin against you--for there is no one who does not sin--and you become angry with them and give them over to the enemy, who takes them captive to his own land, far away or near;
  1. 당신께서 손을 펼치사 위력을 드러내시어 널리 알려진 당신의 명성을 듣고 와서 당신께서 사시는 전을 바라보며 기도드리거든
  2. 당신께서는 자리잡으신 곳, 하늘에서 들으시고 그 외국인의 청을 들어 그대로 이루어주십시오. 그리하시면 이 지상의 모든 백성들이 당신의 백성 이스라엘처럼 당신의 이름을 알게 되고 당신을 경외하게 될 것입니다. 그리고 소인이 지은 이 전이 당신의 성전임을 알게 될 것입니다.
  3. 당신께서 이 백성을 어느 싸움터에 내보내셨든지 그들이 그 곳에서, 당신께서 택하신 이 성과 소인이 당신의 것으로 지어 바친 이 성전을 바라보며 야훼께 기도하거든
  4. 그 간절한 기도를 하늘에서 들으시고 정의를 세워주십시오.
  5. 죄짓지 않는 사람이 어디 있겠습니까? 이 백성도 당신께 범죄하는 일이 있을 것입니다. 만일 당신께서 노하시어 원수에게 넘겨주시면 이 백성은 먼 나라, 가까운 나라에 잡혀가는 신세가 될 것입니다.
  1. and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead with you in the land of their conquerors and say, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly';
  2. and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and pray to you toward the land you gave their fathers, toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name;
  3. then from heaven, your dwelling place, hear their prayer and their plea, and uphold their cause.
  4. And forgive your people, who have sinned against you; forgive all the offenses they have committed against you, and cause their conquerors to show them mercy;
  5. for they are your people and your inheritance, whom you brought out of Egypt, out of that iron-smelting furnace.
  1. 그러나 사로잡혀 간 적국의 땅에서라도 뉘우치며 '우리는 죄인입니다. 못할 짓을 하여 죄를 얻었습니다.' 하고 당신께 애원하거든,
  2. 그들이 적국의 땅에서 참 마음과 뜻을 다 쏟아 참회하고 당신께서 선조들에게 주신 조국 땅과 당신께서 뽑으신 이 성읍과 소인이 당신의 것으로 지어 바친 이 전을 바라보며 빌거든,
  3. 당신께서 계시는 곳, 하늘에서 그 간절한 기도를 들으시어 정의를 세워주십시오.
  4. 당신께 죄를 지은 이 백성을 용서해 주십시오. 당신을 거역하여 지은 모든 죄를 용서해 주십시오. 포로로 잡혀가서라도 동정을 사게 해주십시오.
  5. 이 백성은 당신의 유산이고 당신의 것입니다. 당신께서 이집트에서 건져내셨고 그 쇠를 녹이는 용광로 속에서 구해 내신 백성입니다.
  1. "May your eyes be open to your servant's plea and to the plea of your people Israel, and may you listen to them whenever they cry out to you.
  2. For you singled them out from all the nations of the world to be your own inheritance, just as you declared through your servant Moses when you, O Sovereign LORD, brought our fathers out of Egypt."
  3. When Solomon had finished all these prayers and supplications to the LORD, he rose from before the altar of the LORD, where he had been kneeling with his hands spread out toward heaven.
  4. He stood and blessed the whole assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying:
  5. "Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
  1. 당신께 간구하는 이 종과 당신의 백성 이스라엘에게서 결코 눈을 떼지 말아주십시오. 당신께서는 이 백성이 부르짖으면 언제나 들어주시는 분이십니다.
  2. 땅 위의 모든 백성들 가운데서 그들을 따로 택하시어 당신의 유산으로 삼으셨기 때문입니다. 오, 주 야훼여, 당신께서는 우리 선조들을 이집트에서 건져내실 때 당신의 종 모세를 시켜 이렇게 약속하셨습니다."
  3. 솔로몬은 이렇게 간절한 기도를 야훼께 드리고는 기도가 끝나자 야훼의 제단 앞에서 무릎을 꿇고 양팔을 하늘로 쳐들고 있던 자세를 고쳐 일어났다.
  4. 그는 일어나서 이스라엘의 온 무리에게 큰소리로 복을 빌어주었다.
  5. "야훼는 찬양을 받으실 분이십니다. 당신께서는 약속하신 대로 자기의 백성 이스라엘에게 안식을 주셨습니다. 야훼께서는 당신의 종 모세를 시켜 약속하신 복을 하나도 빠뜨리지 아니하시고 이루어주셨습니다.
  1. May the LORD our God be with us as he was with our fathers; may he never leave us nor forsake us.
  2. May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways and to keep the commands, decrees and regulations he gave our fathers.
  3. And may these words of mine, which I have prayed before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that he may uphold the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel according to each day's need,
  4. so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other.
  5. But your hearts must be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time."
  1. 우리 선조들과 함께 계셨던 우리 하느님 야훼께서 우리와 함께 계시기를 빕니다. 우리를 떠나시지도 아니하시고 버리시지도 않으시기를 빕니다.
  2. 우리의 마음을 당신께로 향하게 하시어 당신께서 보여주신 길을 따르고 당신의 명령과 법과 의식을 준수하게 해주시기를 빕니다.
  3. 오늘 내가 야훼 앞에서 아뢴 말씀을 우리 하느님 야훼께서 밤에도 낮에도 잊지 아니하시고 당신의 종과 당신의 백성 이스라엘의 권리를 찾아주시어 날마다 아쉬운 것 없게 해주시기를 빕니다.
  4. 그리하여 다른 신은 없고 야훼만이 하느님이시라는 것을 땅 위의 모든 백성들이 알게 되기를 빕니다.
  5. 그러니 우리 하느님 야훼와 한마음이 되어 오늘과 같이 야훼의 법과 명령을 지키고 따르도록 합시다."
  1. Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the LORD.
  2. Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to the LORD : twenty-two thousand cattle and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep and goats. So the king and all the Israelites dedicated the temple of the LORD.
  3. On that same day the king consecrated the middle part of the courtyard in front of the temple of the LORD, and there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar before the LORD was too small to hold the burnt offerings, the grain offerings and the fat of the fellowship offerings.
  4. So Solomon observed the festival at that time, and all Israel with him--a vast assembly, people from Lebo Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt. They celebrated it before the LORD our God for seven days and seven days more, fourteen days in all.
  5. On the following day he sent the people away. They blessed the king and then went home, joyful and glad in heart for all the good things the LORD had done for his servant David and his people Israel.
  1. 이 일이 있은 후, 왕은 모든 이스라엘 백성들과 함께 야훼 앞에 제물을 바쳤다.
  2. 솔로몬은 야훼께 친교제를 드렸는데 수소 이만 이천 마리, 양 십이만 마리를 바쳤다. 이렇게 하여 왕은 모든 이스라엘 백성과 함께 야훼의 전의 봉헌식을 거행하였다.
  3. 또 같은 날에 왕은 야훼의 전 앞뜰 중앙부를 성별하고 그 곳에서 번제물과 곡식예물과 친교제물의 기름기를 드렸다. 야훼 앞에 있는 놋제단이 너무 작아서 번제물과 곡식예물과 친교제물의 기름기를 드릴 수가 없었던 것이다.
  4. 이렇게 솔로몬이 축제를 베풀자 하맛 어귀에서부터 이집트와의 접경을 흐르는 강에 이르는 전국에서 구름처럼 모여든 이스라엘 백성이 야훼 앞에서 그 큰 축제에 참여하였다. 축제는 칠 일간 계속되었다.
  5. 팔 일째 되는 날, 솔로몬은 백성들을 집으로 돌려보냈다. 백성들은 왕을 축복하여 야훼께서 당신의 종 다윗과 당신의 백성 이스라엘에게 내려주신 이 모든 은혜를 생각하고 마음 흐뭇하여 기뻐하며 집으로 돌아갔다.
