역대하

  역대상과 마찬가지로 본서도 영적인 유산을 회복해야 할 포로 귀환민들을 위해 쓰여졌다. 그래서 과거 이스라엘의 영광스런 역사를 회복하고, 어두운 역사를 극복하는 개혁, 신앙의 갱신을 강조하고 있다. 또한 인간의 반역 속에서도 선민을 향한 하나님의 영원하신 언약과 구원의 역사가 성취되어 나가고 있음을 보여 주고 있다.

  1장부터 9장까지는 솔로몬의 통치기로 성전 건축, 성전 예배 확립, 영토 확장, 해외 무역을 통한 번영과 부귀에 대하여 기록하였으며, 10장부터 36장까지는 유다 열왕들의 선하고 악한 사적을 선별적으로 기록하고 있다. 이를 통하여 본서는 하나님을 찾는 신앙만이 영적, 물질적 부국을 이룰 수 있는 근본 원리임을 교훈하고 있다.

 

 

역대하 1:1-3:17

 솔로몬이 일천 번제를 드리자 하나님께서 지혜를 구한 솔로몬에게 지혜는 물론, 재물과 존영까지도 주실 것을 약속하셨다. 그는 두로 왕 후람의 도움으로 성전 건축 준비를 마치고 건축에 착수하였다.
  
  지혜를 구한 솔로몬(1:1-1:17)    
 
  1. Solomon son of David established himself firmly over his kingdom, for the LORD his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.
  2. Then Solomon spoke to all Israel--to the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds, to the judges and to all the leaders in Israel, the heads of families-
  3. and Solomon and the whole assembly went to the high place at Gibeon, for God's Tent of Meeting was there, which Moses the LORD's servant had made in the desert.
  4. Now David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place he had prepared for it, because he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
  5. But the bronze altar that Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made was in Gibeon in front of the tabernacle of the LORD; so Solomon and the assembly inquired of him there.
  1. 다윗의 아들 솔로몬은 왕위를 굳혔다. 그의 하느님 야훼께서 같이 계시며 높여주셨으므로 사람들이 우러러보게 되었던 것이다.
  2. 솔로몬은 온 이스라엘을 불렀다. 천인대장과 백인대장들, 관리들, 이스라엘의 대표들, 각 가문의 어른들을 불렀다.
  3. 솔로몬은 자기 백성의 모든 대표단을 이끌고 기브온에 있는 산당을 찾아갔다. 그 곳은 하느님을 만나는 곳으로서 야훼의 종인 모세가 광야에서 만든 장막이 있는 곳이었다.
  4. 하느님의 궤는 다윗이 예루살렘에 자리를 마련하여 새 장막을 치고 키럇여아림에서 올려다 모셨지만,
  5. 브살렐이 만든 놋제단만은 기브온 야훼의 성소 앞에 있어서, 솔로몬은 대표단을 이끌고 그리로 찾아간 것이다. 브살렐의 아비는 우리요, 할아버지는 후르였다.
  1. Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the LORD in the Tent of Meeting and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.
  2. That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, "Ask for whatever you want me to give you."
  3. Solomon answered God, "You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place.
  4. Now, LORD God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth.
  5. Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?"
  1. 솔로몬은 거기 만남의 장막에 있는 놋제단으로 올라가 야훼 앞에 번제물 천 마리를 살라 바쳤다.
  2. 그 날 밤 하느님이 솔로몬에게 나타나셔서 물으셨다. "내가 너에게 무엇을 해주면 좋겠느냐?"
  3. 솔로몬이 하느님께 대답하였다. "주께서는 소인의 아버지 다윗에게 망극한 은혜를 베푸셨으며, 또한 소인에게는 그 뒤를 이어 왕위에 오르게 해주셨습니다.
  4. 야훼 하느님이여, 주께서는 소인을 왕으로 세워 티끌처럼 많은 백성을 다스리게 하셨습니다. 소인의 아버지 다윗에게 약속하신 그대로 이루어주셨습니다.
  5. 이제 이 백성을 이끌 수 있도록 슬기와 지식을 주십시오. 누가 감히 이렇게도 많은 주의 백성을 다스릴 수 있겠습니까?"
  1. God said to Solomon, "Since this is your heart's desire and you have not asked for wealth, riches or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king,
  2. therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, riches and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have."
  3. Then Solomon went to Jerusalem from the high place at Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting. And he reigned over Israel.
  4. Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.
  5. The king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.
  1. 하느님께서 솔로몬에게 대답하셨다. "부귀영화를 청하지도 않고 원수의 목을 청하지도 않으며, 오래 살도록 해달라고 청하지도 않고 내가 맡겨준 이 백성을 다스리는 임금으로서 갖추어야 할 슬기와 지식을 달라고 청하다니, 네 뜻이 갸륵하구나.
  2. 슬기와 지식뿐이랴? 내가 너에게 부귀와 영화도 주리니, 너와 같은 임금은 전에도 없었고 후에도 다시 없으리라."
  3. 솔로몬은 기브온 산당에 있는 만남의 장막을 떠나 예루살렘으로 돌아와 이스라엘을 다스렸다.
  4. 솔로몬이 병거와 군마를 사 모으다 보니 병거가 천사백 대, 군마는 만 이천 마리가 되었다. 그는 이 병력의 일부는 병거 주둔성에 배치하고 일부는 왕 가까이 예루살렘에 배치하였다.
  5. 예루살렘에서는 은이 마치 돌멩이처럼 흔하게 되었고 송백은 야산 지대의 돌무화과나무만큼이나 많아졌다. 이것은 모두 왕의 덕분이었다.
  1. Solomon's horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue --the royal merchants purchased them from Kue.
  2. They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.
  1. 솔로몬은 왕실 소속 무역상들을 시켜 길리기아와 큐에에서 말을 사들이고
  2. 병거는 이집트에서 사들였는데, 값은 병거 한 대에 육백 세겔이었고, 말 한 마리에 백오십 세겔이었다. 이 무역상들은 말을 사서 헷 왕들과 아람 왕들에게 되파는 일도 하였다.
 
  성전 건축 준비(2:1-2:18)    
 
  1. Solomon gave orders to build a temple for the Name of the LORD and a royal palace for himself.
  2. He conscripted seventy thousand men as carriers and eighty thousand as stonecutters in the hills and thirty-six hundred as foremen over them.
  3. Solomon sent this message to Hiram king of Tyre: "Send me cedar logs as you did for my father David when you sent him cedar to build a palace to live in.
  4. Now I am about to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God and to dedicate it to him for burning fragrant incense before him, for setting out the consecrated bread regularly, and for making burnt offerings every morning and evening and on Sabbaths and New Moons and at the appointed feasts of the LORD our God. This is a lasting ordinance for Israel.
  5. "The temple I am going to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods.
  1. 짐꾼 칠만 명, 산에서 돌 떠내는 사람 팔만 명, 감독관 삼천육백 명을 모집하였다.
  2. 그리고 나서 솔로몬은 띠로 왕 히람에게 사람을 보내어 청을 넣었다. "당신은 본인의 선친께서 궁을 지으실 때 송백 재목을 보내주셨습니다.
  3. 이제 본인은 본인의 하느님 야훼의 이름을 모실 집을 지어 바치려고 합니다. 거기에서 분향제를 올리고 거르지 않고 제사 상을 차려 올리며, 아침 저녁으로 번제물을 바치고자 합니다. 또 안식일과 매달 초하루와 우리 하느님 야훼께서 정해 주신 절기마다 번제를 드리고자 합니다. 이스라엘은 언제까지나 이렇게 하게 되어 있습니다.
  4. 우리의 하느님은 어떤 신보다도 크신 분이시라 본인이 지어 바칠 집도 커야 합니다.
  5. 저 하늘, 저 꼭대기 하늘도 좁아서 못 계실 분에게 무슨 수로 집을 지어드리겠습니까? 본인이 무엇인데 어찌 감히 그분께 집을 지어드리겠습니까? 다만 향이나 피워 올리려는 뜻밖에 없습니다.
  1. But who is able to build a temple for him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain him? Who then am I to build a temple for him, except as a place to burn sacrifices before him?
  2. "Send me, therefore, a man skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, and in purple, crimson and blue yarn, and experienced in the art of engraving, to work in Judah and Jerusalem with my skilled craftsmen, whom my father David provided.
  3. "Send me also cedar, pine and algum logs from Lebanon, for I know that your men are skilled in cutting timber there. My men will work with yours
  4. to provide me with plenty of lumber, because the temple I build must be large and magnificent.
  5. I will give your servants, the woodsmen who cut the timber, twenty thousand cors of ground wheat, twenty thousand cors of barley, twenty thousand baths of wine and twenty thousand baths of olive oil."
  1. 이제 본인은 당신에게 금은과 놋쇠와 쇠를 다룰 줄 알며, 붉은 비단, 진홍 비단, 자주 비단을 짤 줄 알며 조각도 할 줄 아는 기사 한 사람을 청합니다. 다윗 선왕께서 길러주신 기술자들이 유다와 예루살렘에 있습니다. 이 사람들을 데리고 일을 할 기사를 보내주십시오.
  2. 또 레바논의 송백과 전나무와 오동나무를 청합니다. 레바논에서 나무를 벨 줄 아는 일꾼들이 당신에게 있는 줄 압니다마는 본인도 일꾼을 보내어 같이 일하게 하겠습니다.
  3. 본인은 놀랄 만큼 큰 집을 지으려고 합니다. 그러니 재목을 많이 보내주시기 바랍니다.
  4. 채벌 기술자들에게 본인은 양곡을 대어주겠습니다. 밀 이만 섬, 보리 이만 섬, 포도주 이만 말, 기름 이만 말을 당신의 일꾼들에게 대어주겠습니다."
  5. 띠로 왕 히람이 솔로몬에게 회신하였다. "야훼께서 그의 백성을 사랑하셔서 당신을 왕으로 세워 다스리게 하셨습니다."
  1. Hiram king of Tyre replied by letter to Solomon: "Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you their king."
  2. And Hiram added: "Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth! He has given King David a wise son, endowed with intelligence and discernment, who will build a temple for the LORD and a palace for himself.
  3. "I am sending you Huram-Abi, a man of great skill,
  4. whose mother was from Dan and whose father was from Tyre. He is trained to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, stone and wood, and with purple and blue and crimson yarn and fine linen. He is experienced in all kinds of engraving and can execute any design given to him. He will work with your craftsmen and with those of my Lord , David your father.
  5. "Now let my Lord send his servants the wheat and barley and the olive oil and wine he promised,
  1. 히람의 회신은 이렇게 계속되었다. "이스라엘의 하느님 야훼는 찬양받으실 분, 하늘과 땅을 만드신 분, 다윗 왕에게 만사를 현명하게 처리할 줄 아는 지혜로운 아들을 후계자로 주셔서, 야훼께 집을 지어 바치고 자신의 왕궁을 짓게 하신 분이십니다.
  2. 이제 본인은 기술자 후람 선생을 보냅니다. 그는 내가 믿는 사람입니다.
  3. 그의 어머니는 단 지파 사람이요, 아버지는 띠로 사람입니다. 그는 금은과 놋쇠와 쇠와 보석과 나무를 다룰 줄 알며, 붉은 비단과 자주 비단과 모시와 진홍색 비단을 짤 줄 알며, 조각을 할 줄도 압니다. 갖가지 고안을 다 해내는 사람이니, 무엇이든지 부탁하십시오. 본인이 존경하던 당신의 선왕 다윗께서 길러주신 기술자들을 데리고 무엇이든지 해낼 것입니다.
  4. 그러니 이제 당신이 약속하신 밀과 보리, 기름과 포도주를 본인의 일꾼들에게 보내주십시오.
  5. 우리는 당신에게 필요한 만큼 레바논에서 벌목을 하여 뗏목으로 엮어 요빠 앞바다까지 운반해 가겠습니다. 예루살렘까지 올려 가는 일은 당신이 담당하십시오."
  1. and we will cut all the logs from Lebanon that you need and will float them in rafts by sea down to Joppa. You can then take them up to Jerusalem."
  2. Solomon took a census of all the aliens who were in Israel, after the census his father David had taken; and they were found to be 153,600.
  3. He assigned 70,000 of them to be carriers and 80,000 to be stonecutters in the hills, with 3,600 foremen over them to keep the people working.
  1. 솔로몬은 선왕 다윗이 전에 거류민을 조사한 것처럼 이스라엘 국내에 있는 거류민을 조사해 보았다. 그랬더니 거류민의 수는 모두 십오만 삼천육백 명이었다.
  2. 그 중에서 칠만 명을 짐꾼으로 징용하고 팔만 명은 산에서 돌 떠내는 일을 시켰다. 그리고 그 일꾼들을 부리는 감독으로 삼천육백 명을 뽑았다.
 
  성전 건축(3:1-3:17)    
 
  1. Then Solomon began to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David.
  2. He began building on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.
  3. The foundation Solomon laid for building the temple of God was sixty cubits long and twenty cubits wide (using the cubit of the old standard).
  4. The portico at the front of the temple was twenty cubits long across the width of the building and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold.
  5. He paneled the main hall with pine and covered it with fine gold and decorated it with palm tree and chain designs.
  1. 솔로몬은 선왕 다윗이 환상으로 본 예루살렘 모리야 산에 야훼의 성전을 짓기 시작하였다. 그 곳은 여부스 사람 오르난의 타작 마당이었는데 다윗이 사두었던 것이다.
  2. 성전을 짓기 시작한 때는 솔로몬이 왕이 된 지 사 년째 되던 해의 이월이었다.
  3. 솔로몬은 하느님의 전을 지을 때 이렇게 기초를 놓았다. 옛날 자로 집 길이는 육십 척, 나비는 이십 척,
  4. 성전 본관 앞 현관은 나비가 십 척, 길이가 집 나비 그대로 이십 척, 높이가 백이십 척이었다. 현관 안벽은 순금으로 입혔다.
  5. 본관 안벽에는 전나무 판을 대고 순금을 입혔다. 그 위에는 종려나무 가지와 꽃줄 모양도 새겼다.
  1. He adorned the temple with precious stones. And the gold he used was gold of Parvaim.
  2. He overlaid the ceiling beams, doorframes, walls and doors of the temple with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls.
  3. He built the Most Holy Place, its length corresponding to the width of the temple--twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide. He overlaid the inside with six hundred talents of fine gold.
  4. The gold nails weighed fifty shekels. He also overlaid the upper parts with gold.
  5. In the Most Holy Place he made a pair of sculptured cherubim and overlaid them with gold.
  1. 본관 안은 번쩍이는 보석으로 꾸미고 금박을 입혔는데 그 금은 바르와임에서 들여온 것이었다.
  2. 본관 안 들보와 문지방과 벽과 문짝은 모두 금박을 입혔고 벽에는 거룹들을 새겼다.
  3. 그리고 지성소를 지었는데 길이는 집의 길이대로 이십 척, 나비도 이십 척이었다. 내부는 순금 육백 달란트로 금을 입혔다.
  4. 그것을 박는 금못의 무게만도 오십 세겔이 나갔다. 다락방도 금을 입혔다.
  5. 지성소 안에는 거룹 둘을 들였는데, 그것은 나무를 깎아 만들어 금을 입힌 것이었다.
  1. The total wingspan of the cherubim was twenty cubits. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long and touched the temple wall, while its other wing, also five cubits long, touched the wing of the other cherub.
  2. Similarly one wing of the second cherub was five cubits long and touched the other temple wall, and its other wing, also five cubits long, touched the wing of the first cherub.
  3. The wings of these cherubim extended twenty cubits. They stood on their feet, facing the main hall.
  4. He made the curtain of blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen, with cherubim worked into it.
  5. In the front of the temple he made two pillars, which together were thirty-five cubits long, each with a capital on top measuring five cubits.
  1. 이 거룹들이 날개를 펴고 있는데, 그 길이는 이십 척이었다. 날개 하나의 길이는 오 척인데 한 쪽은 성전 벽에 닿았고 한 쪽은 다른 거룹의 날개에 닿았다.
  2. 또 다른 거룹의 날개 하나도 길이가 오 척인데 한 쪽은 성전 벽에 닿았고 한 쪽은 다른 거룹의 날개에 닿았다.
  3. 그래서 이 두 거룹이 날개를 펼친 것이 이십 척이었다. 이 거룹들은 서서 똑바로 성소 쪽을 바라보고 있었다.
  4. 그는 또 자주실과 붉은 실과 심홍 색실로 휘장을 짜고 그 위에 거룹들을 수놓았다.
  5. 성전 정면에는 높이가 삼십오 척 나가는 기둥 둘을 만들어 세우고 그 위에 높이 오 척짜리 대접받침을 얹었다.
  1. He made interwoven chains and put them on top of the pillars. He also made a hundred pomegranates and attached them to the chains.
  2. He erected the pillars in the front of the temple, one to the south and one to the north. The one to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz.
  1. 목걸이 모양으로 꽃줄을 만들어 그 기둥들 머리에 둘렀다. 그리고 석류 모양 백 개를 만들어 그 꽃줄에 달았다.
  2. 이 기둥의 하나는 성전 본관 앞 오른쪽에 세우고 다른 하나는 왼쪽에 세웠다. 오른쪽 기둥 이름은 야긴이라 하고 왼쪽 기둥 이름은 보아즈라 하였다.
