예레미야 35:1-36:32

 하나님께서는 레갑 족속이 선조의 명령을 온전히 순종함을 칭찬하시면서 하나님께 불순종하는 유다 백성들의 죄를 책망하셨다. 바룩은 예레미야가 경고한 유다의 죄를 두루마리에 기록하여 왕과 백성들에게 읽어 주었지만, 여호야김 왕은 이 두루마리를 불에 태웠다. 이에 하나님께서 왕과 그 신하들에게 심판을 선포하셨고 바룩에게 그 말씀을 다시 기록하도록 하셨다.
  
  레갑 족속의 순종(35:1-35:19)    
 
  1. This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD during the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah:
  2. "Go to the Recabite family and invite them to come to one of the side rooms of the house of the LORD and give them wine to drink."
  3. So I went to get Jaazaniah son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers and all his sons--the whole family of the Recabites.
  4. I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the room of the sons of Hanan son of Igdaliah the man of God. It was next to the room of the officials, which was over that of Maaseiah son of Shallum the doorkeeper.
  5. Then I set bowls full of wine and some cups before the men of the Recabite family and said to them, "Drink some wine."
  1. 요시야의 아들 여호야킴이 유다 왕으로 있을 때에 야훼께서 예레미야에게 이런 말씀을 내리셨다.
  2. "너는 레갑인들이 있는 곳에 가서 말하여 보아라. 야훼의 성전 어느 방에 포도주를 마련하여 두고 그들을 데려다가 마시게 하여보아라."
  3. 레갑인의 가문에는 하바씨냐의 손자요 예레미야의 아들인 야자니야와 그의 형제들과 아들들이 있었다. 나는 그 온 가문을 데리고
  4. 야훼의 성전에 가서 하느님의 사람 하난의 아들들이 사는 방으로 들어갔다. 하난은 익달리야의 아들이었다. 그 방은 고관들의 방 옆에 붙어 있었고 살룸의 아들 수위장 마아세야의 방 윗층에 있었다.
  5. 거기에서 나는 레갑 집안 사람들에게 가득 찬 포도주 몇 병과 잔을 내어놓고 권하였다.
  1. But they replied, "We do not drink wine, because our forefather Jonadab son of Recab gave us this command: 'Neither you nor your descendants must ever drink wine.
  2. Also you must never build houses, sow seed or plant vineyards; you must never have any of these things, but must always live in tents. Then you will live a long time in the land where you are nomads.'
  3. We have obeyed everything our forefather Jonadab son of Recab commanded us. Neither we nor our wives nor our sons and daughters have ever drunk wine
  4. or built houses to live in or had vineyards, fields or crops.
  5. We have lived in tents and have fully obeyed everything our forefather Jonadab commanded us.
  1. 그러나 그들은 거절하며 이렇게 말하였다. "우리는 포도주를 마시지 못합니다. 우리의 조상인 레갑의 아들 요나답께서 우리에게 자손 만대에 이르도록 아무도 포도주를 마시면 안 된다는 가훈을 남기셨습니다.
  2. 집도 짓지 말고 낟알을 뿌리거나 포도나무를 심지도 말 것이며, 그런 것은 아예 가질 생각을 하지 말고, 언제까지나 천막에서 살라고 하셨습니다. 그래야 남의 땅이지만 거기에서 오래오래 살 수 있으리라고 하셨습니다.
  3. 그래서 우리의 조상은 레갑의 아들 요나답께서 명하신 말씀대로 우리는 물론, 아내나 아들딸 모두가 이제까지 포도주를 마시지 않았습니다.
  4. 살 집을 짓지도 않았으며 포도원이나 씨 뿌릴 밭을 가지지도 않았습니다.
  5. 우리는 조상 요나답께서 명하신 대로 천막에서 살다가,
  1. But when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded this land, we said, 'Come, we must go to Jerusalem to escape the Babylonian and Aramean armies.' So we have remained in Jerusalem."
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying:
  3. "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go and tell the men of Judah and the people of Jerusalem, 'Will you not learn a lesson and obey my words?' declares the LORD.
  4. 'Jonadab son of Recab ordered his sons not to drink wine and this command has been kept. To this day they do not drink wine, because they obey their forefather's command. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not obeyed me.
  5. Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said, "Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your fathers." But you have not paid attention or listened to me.
  1. 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 이 나라에 쳐들어오자, 바빌론 군대와 아람 군대를 피하여 예루살렘으로 들어와야겠다고 생각하고 예루살렘에 와서 살게 되었습니다."
  2. 그 때 야훼의 말씀이 예레미야에게 내렸다.
  3. "나 만군의 야훼가 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 말한다. 너는 유다 국민과 예루살렘 시민들에게 가서 이렇게 일러라. '너희는 기어이 내 말을 듣지 않을 작정이냐? 나의 훈계를 받지 않을 작정이냐? 내 말을 들어보아라.
  4. 레갑의 아들 요나답의 후손은 포도주를 마시지 말라는 가훈을 지켜 이 날까지도 포도주를 마시지 않는다. 그런데 너희는 내가 그렇게도 거듭거듭 일러준 말을 들으려 하지 않았다.
  5. 나는 나의 종 예언자들을 거듭거듭 너희에게 보내어 제발 마음을 고쳐먹고 못된 길을 버리며 생활 태도를 고치라고 하였다. 다른 신들을 받들어 섬기지 말라고 하였다. 그래야 선조 때부터 대대로 살라고 내어준 이 땅에서 살 수 있을 것이라고 하였다. 그러나 너희는 내 말을 귓전으로 흘리며 듣지 않았다.
  1. The descendants of Jonadab son of Recab have carried out the command their forefather gave them, but these people have not obeyed me.'
  2. "Therefore, this is what the LORD God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'Listen! I am going to bring on Judah and on everyone living in Jerusalem every disaster I pronounced against them. I spoke to them, but they did not listen; I called to them, but they did not answer.' "
  3. Then Jeremiah said to the family of the Recabites, "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'You have obeyed the command of your forefather Jonadab and have followed all his instructions and have done everything he ordered.'
  4. Therefore, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'Jonadab son of Recab will never fail to have a man to serve me.' "
  1. 레갑의 아들 요나답의 후손들은 조상 전래의 가훈도 그대로 지켰는데, 이 백성은 내 말을 듣지 않았다.
  2. 그래서 나 만군의 야훼가 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 선언한다. 이 유다 국민과 예루살렘 시민은 내가 아무리 말하여도 듣지 않았고 불러도 대답하지 않았다. 그러므로 나는 내가 말한 대로 온갖 재앙을 그들에게 내리리라.'"
  3. 예레미야가 레갑 집안 사람들에게 말하였다. "만군의 야훼께서 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 말씀하신다. '너희는 조상 요나답이 남긴 가훈을 따랐으며, 그 가훈을 모두 지켜 그대로 행하였다.
  4. 이에 나 만군의 야훼가 이스라엘의 하느님으로서 선언한다. 레갑의 아들 요나답의 후손 가운데서 나를 섬길 사람이 대대손손 끊이지 아니하리라.'"
 
  예언을 받아 쓴 바룩(36:1-36:32)    
 
  1. In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD :
  2. "Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.
  3. Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, each of them will turn from his wicked way; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin."
  4. So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and while Jeremiah dictated all the words the LORD had spoken to him, Baruch wrote them on the scroll.
  5. Then Jeremiah told Baruch, "I am restricted; I cannot go to the LORD's temple.
  1. 요시야의 아들 여호야킴이 유다 왕이 된 지 사 년 되던 해에 야훼로부터 예레미야에게 이런 말씀이 내렸다.
  2. "글을 쓸 두루마리를 구하여라. 나는 요시야 시대부터 이 날까지 이스라엘과 유다와 세계 만방을 어찌 할 것인지 너에게 일러주었다. 너는 그 말을 다 기록하여라.
  3. 내가 온갖 재앙을 내리기로 하였다는 말을 듣고, 유다 가문이 그 못된 생활 태도를 고칠지 아느냐? 고치기만 한다면 나는 그 악한 죄를 용서하여 주리라."
  4. 그래서 예레미야는 네리야의 아들 바룩을 불러왔다. 바룩은 예레미야가 불러주는 대로 야훼께서 하신 말씀을 그 두루마리에 모두 기록하였다.
  5. 그 다음에 예레미야는 바룩에게 말하였다. "나는 갇힌 몸이라 야훼의 집으로 갈 수가 없으니,
  1. So you go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the LORD that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.
  2. Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and each will turn from his wicked ways, for the anger and wrath pronounced against this people by the LORD are great."
  3. Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the LORD's temple he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.
  4. In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the LORD was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah.
  5. From the room of Gemariah son of Shaphan the secretary, which was in the upper courtyard at the entrance of the New Gate of the temple, Baruch read to all the people at the LORD's temple the words of Jeremiah from the scroll.
  1. 그대가 단식일에 야훼의 성전에 가서 거기에 모인 백성이 듣는 앞에서, 내가 불러주는 대로 받아 쓴 이 두루마리에서 야훼의 말씀을 들려주시오.
  2. 행여나 사람들이 야훼 앞에 용서를 빌며 마음을 돌려 각기 그 못된 생활 태도를 고친다면 얼마나 좋겠소? 야훼께서 화가 나시고 노하셔서 이 백성에게 벌을 내리시겠다고 하신 그 말씀은 너무나도 무섭소."
  3. 네리야의 아들 바룩은 예언자 예레미야가 시킨 대로 야훼의 말씀이 적힌 책을 가지고 야훼의 성전에 가서 읽었다.
  4. 요시야의 아들 여호야킴은 유다 왕이 된 지 오 년 되던 해 구월에 예루살렘 온 시민과 유다 성읍들에서 예루살렘에 피난 들어와 있는 모든 백성에게 야훼 앞에서 단식기도를 올리라고 선포하였다.
  5. 바룩이 예레미야의 말을 기록한 것을 가지고 야훼의 성전에 가서 온 백성에게 읽어준 것은 그 때였다. 읽어준 곳은 야훼의 성전 새 대문 어귀의 높은 마당에 있는 그마리야의 방이었다. 그마리야는 전 국무대신 사반의 아들이었다.
  1. When Micaiah son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the LORD from the scroll,
  2. he went down to the secretary's room in the royal palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Acbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.
  3. After Micaiah told them everything he had heard Baruch read to the people from the scroll,
  4. all the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to say to Baruch, "Bring the scroll from which you have read to the people and come." So Baruch son of Neriah went to them with the scroll in his hand.
  5. They said to him, "Sit down, please, and read it to us." So Baruch read it to them.
  1. 사반의 손자요 그마리야의 아들인 미가야가 야훼의 말씀이 기록된 책을 바룩이 읽는 것을 다 듣고는,
  2. 왕궁의 국무대신 사무실로 내려갔다. 마침 거기에는 국무대신 엘리사마를 비롯하여 스마야의 아들 들라야, 악볼의 아들 엘나단, 사반의 아들 그마리야, 하나니야의 아들 시드키야 등 모든 대신들이 모여 있었다.
  3. 미가야가 바룩이 백성들에게 읽어준 내용을 들은 대로 전하자,
  4. 그들은 느다니야의 아들 여후디와 구시의 아들 셀레미야를 바룩에게 보내어 백성에게 읽어준 그 두루마리를 가지고 오라고 전하였다. 네리야의 아들 바룩이 그 두루마리를 가지고 대신들 있는 곳으로 오자
  5. 그들이 청하였다. "우리도 직접 듣고 싶으니, 앉아서 읽어주시오." 그래서 바룩은 그 말씀을 읽어주었다.
  1. When they heard all these words, they looked at each other in fear and said to Baruch, "We must report all these words to the king."
  2. Then they asked Baruch, "Tell us, how did you come to write all this? Did Jeremiah dictate it?"
  3. "Yes," Baruch replied, "he dictated all these words to me, and I wrote them in ink on the scroll."
  4. Then the officials said to Baruch, "You and Jeremiah, go and hide. Don't let anyone know where you are."
  5. After they put the scroll in the room of Elishama the secretary, they went to the king in the courtyard and reported everything to him.
  1. 그 말씀을 다 듣고 나서 그들은 놀라며 서로 쳐다보다가 바룩에게 말하였다. "이 말씀은 우리가 왕께 모두 아뢰어야 하겠소.
  2. 그런데 이 말씀을 다 어떻게 쓰게 되었는지 말하여 주시오."
  3. 바룩이 "그분이 불러주시는 대로 나는 그 모든 말을 먹으로 이 책에 받아 썼을 따름입니다." 하고 대답하자,
  4. 대신들이 말하였다. "가서 예레미야와 함께 아무도 모르게 숨으시오."
  5. 대신들은 그 두루마리를 국무대신 엘리사마의 사무실에 보관해 두고는 내전으로 들어가 그 말씀을 모두 왕에게 보고하였다.
  1. The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and Jehudi brought it from the room of Elishama the secretary and read it to the king and all the officials standing beside him.
  2. It was the ninth month and the king was sitting in the winter apartment, with a fire burning in the firepot in front of him.
  3. Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe's knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire.
  4. The king and all his attendants who heard all these words showed no fear, nor did they tear their clothes.
  5. Even though Elnathan, Delaiah and Gemariah urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.
  1. 왕은 여후디를 보내어 그 두루마리를 가져오도록 하였다. 여후디는 국무대신 엘리사마의 사무실에 가서 그 책을 가져다가 왕과 왕을 모시고 있는 대신들 앞에서 읽었다.
  2. 마침 구월이라 왕은 겨울별관에서 화롯불을 쬐며 앉아 있었다.
  3. 여후디가 서너 단을 읽으면 읽는 족족 왕은 그것을 칼로 베어 화롯불에 던졌다. 이렇게 하여 그 두루마리를 모두 화롯불에 넣어 태워버렸다.
  4. 왕과 모든 시종들은 그 말씀을 다 듣고 나서도 겁을 내지 않았고 옷을 찢지도 않았다.
  5. 엘나단과 들라야와 그마리야는 왕에게 그 두루마리를 태우지 말라고 간해 보았지만 왕은 그 말을 듣기는커녕,
  1. Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel to arrest Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the LORD had hidden them.
  2. After the king burned the scroll containing the words that Baruch had written at Jeremiah's dictation, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
  3. "Take another scroll and write on it all the words that were on the first scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah burned up.
  4. Also tell Jehoiakim king of Judah, 'This is what the LORD says: You burned that scroll and said, "Why did you write on it that the king of Babylon would certainly come and destroy this land and cut off both men and animals from it?"
  5. Therefore, this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on the throne of David; his body will be thrown out and exposed to the heat by day and the frost by night.
  1. 왕자 여라므엘과 아즈리엘의 아들 스라야와 압드엘의 아들 셀레미야를 시켜 서사 바룩과 예언자 예레미야를 잡아오라고 하였다. 그러나 야훼께서는 이미 그들을 숨기셨다.
  2. 예레미야가 부르는 대로 바룩이 받아 쓴 두루마리를 왕이 다 태워버린 후에 야훼의 말씀이 예레미야에게 내렸다.
  3. "유다 왕 여호야킴이 두루마리를 태웠으니, 그 두루마리에 적혔던 말을 다른 두루마리에다 그대로 다시 써라.
  4. 그리고 유다 왕 여호야킴을 나 야훼가 어떻게 할 것인지, 야훼의 말이라 하고 이렇게 일러라. '바빌론 왕이 와서 이 땅을 망치고 사람과 짐승을 쓸어버리겠다고 썼으니 될 말이냐고 하면서 너는 그 두루마리를 태워버렸다.
  5. 그런 말을 한 유다 왕 여호야킴이 어떻게 될 것인지 나 야훼가 말한다. 이제부터 여호야킴의 후손 가운데 다윗 왕좌에 앉을 사람은 없을 것이다. 여호야킴의 시체는 무더운 대낮에도 추운 밤에도 밖에서 뒹굴 것이다.
  1. I will punish him and his children and his attendants for their wickedness; I will bring on them and those living in Jerusalem and the people of Judah every disaster I pronounced against them, because they have not listened.' "
  2. So Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, and as Jeremiah dictated, Baruch wrote on it all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
  1. 여호야킴과 그의 자식들과 시종들이 내 말을 듣지 않았으므로 내가 그들에게 벌을 내리리라. 그들뿐 아니라 예루살렘 시민과 유다 사람들에게도 이미 말하여 두었던 온갖 재앙을 내리리라.'"
  2. 예레미야는 다른 두루마리를 구해 네리야의 아들 서사 바룩에게 주고 나서 유다 왕 여호야킴이 불에 태운 책에 적혀 있던 말을 그대로 다 불러주고, 그 내용과 같은 많은 말을 더 불러주어 함께 적도록 하였다.
