- Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.
- And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?"
- But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.
- I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.
- Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."

- 나는 또 옥좌에 앉으신 그분이 오른손에 두루마리 하나를 들고 계신 것을 보았습니다. 안팎에 글이 기록되어 있는 그 두루마리는 일곱인을 찍어 봉하여 놓은 것이었습니다.
- 그리고 나는 힘센 천사 하나가 큰소리로 "이 봉인을 떼고 두루마리를 펼 자격이 있는 자가 누구인가?" 하고 외치는 것을 보았습니다.
- 그러나 그 두루마리를 펴고 그것을 들여다볼 수 있는 자는 하늘에도 없고 땅에도 없고 또 땅 아래에도 없었습니다.
- 그 두루마리를 펴고 그것을 들여다볼 자격이 있는 자가 하나도 보이지 않았기 때문에 나는 슬피 울었습니다.
- 그러나 원로들 가운데 하나가 나에게 "울지 마시오. 유다 지파에서 난 사자, 곧 다윗의 뿌리가 승리하였으니 그분이 이 일곱 봉인을 떼시고 두루마리를 펴실 수 있습니다." 하고 말했습니다.

- Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
- He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.
- And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
- And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
- You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

- 나는 또 그 옥좌와 네 생물과 원로들 가운데 어린 양 하나가 서 있는 것을 보았습니다. 그 어린 양은 이미 죽임을 당한 것 같았으며 일곱 뿔과 일곱 눈을 가지고 있었습니다. 그의 눈은 하느님께서 온 땅에 보내신 일곱 영신이십니다.
- 그 어린 양이 나와 옥좌에 앉으신 분의 오른손에서 그 두루마리를 받아들었습니다.
- 그 어린 양이 두루마리를 받아들자 네 생물과 스물네 원로는 각각 거문고와 향이 가득 담긴 금대접을 가지고 어린 양 앞에 엎드렸습니다. 그 향은 곧 성도들의 기도입니다.
- 그리고 그들은 다음과 같은 새로운 노래를 불렀습니다. "당신은 두루마리를 받으실 자격이 있고 봉인을 떼실 자격이 있습니다. 당신은 죽임을 당하셨고 당신의 피로 값을 치러 모든 민족과 언어와 백성과 나라로부터 사람들을 구해 내셔서 하느님께 바치셨습니다.
- 당신은 그들로 하여금 우리 하느님을 위하여 한 왕국을 이루게 하셨고 사제들이 되게 하셨으니 그들은 땅 위에서 왕노릇 할 것입니다."

- Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.
- In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"
- Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"
- The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped.

- 나는 또 그 옥좌를 둘러선 많은 천사들과 생물들과 원로들을 보았고 그들의 음성도 들었습니다. 그들의 수효는 수천 수만이었습니다.
- 그들은 큰소리로 "죽임을 당하신 어린 양은 권능과 부귀와 지혜와 힘과 영예와 영광과 찬양을 받으실 자격이 있으십니다." 하고 외치고 있었습니다.
- 그리고 나는 하늘과 땅과 땅 아래와 바다에 있는 모든 피조물 곧 온 우주 안에 있는 만물이, "옥좌에 앉으신 분과 어린 양께서 찬양과 영예와 영광과 권능을 영원 무궁토록 받으소서!" 하고 외치는 소리를 들었습니다.
- 그러자 네 생물은 "아멘." 하고 화답했으며 원로들은 엎드려 경배했습니다.
