창세기 22:1-23:20

 하나님께서 아브라함의 믿음을 시험하시려고 이삭을 번제로 드릴 것을 명령하셨다. 아브라함이 이에 순종하여 모리아 산에서 이삭을 제물로 드리려 하자 하나님께서 그의 믿음을 인정하시고 준비된 수양을 드리게 하셨다. 사라가 죽은 후 아브라함은 그녀를 매장하기 위해 헷 족속 에브론으로부터 마므레 앞 막벨라 굴을 사서 소유 매장지로 삼고 사라를 장사했다.
  
  이삭을 제물로 드림(22:1-22:24)    
 
  1. Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied.
  2. Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."
  3. Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about.
  4. On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
  5. He said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you."
  1. 그 후에 하나님이 아브라함을 시험하시려고 '아브라함아' 하고 부르시자 그는 '내가 여기 있습니다' 하고 대답하였다.
  2. 그때 여호와께서 아브라함에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 사랑하는 네 외아들 이삭을 데리고 모리아 땅으로 가 네가 지시하는 산에서 그를 나에게 제물로 바쳐라'
  3. 그래서 아브라함은 다음 날 아침 일찍 일어나 나귀에 안장을 지우고 제물을 태울 나무를 준비하여 두 종과 자기 아들 이삭을 데리고 하나님이 지시하신 곳을 향해 떠났다.
  4. 3일째에 아브라함이 멀리서 그 곳을 바라보고
  5. 종들에게 말하였다. '너희는 나귀와 함께 여기 있거라. 내가 아들과 저기 가서 경배하고 오겠다'
  1. Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together,
  2. Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?" "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
  3. Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together.
  4. When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood.
  5. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
  1. 그리고서 아브라함은 이삭에게 제물을 태울 나무를 가지고 가게 하고 자기는 불과 칼을 들고 갔는데 도중에
  2. 이삭이 자기 아버지를 불렀다. '아버지!' '왜 그러느냐?' '불과 나무는 여기 있는데 제물로 바칠 어린 양은 어디 있습니까?'
  3. '얘야, 제물로 바칠 어린 양은 하나님이 직접 준비하실 것이다' 그들이 계속 걸어서
  4. 하나님이 지시하신 곳에 이르렀을 때 아브라함은 그곳에 단을 쌓고 나무를 벌여 놓은 다음 자기 아들 이삭을 묶어 단의 나무 위에 올려 놓았다.
  5. 그리고 그가 손을 내밀어 칼을 잡고 자기 아들을 치려고 하는 순간
  1. But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, "Abraham! Abraham!" "Here I am," he replied.
  2. "Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. "Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son."
  3. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
  4. So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided."
  5. The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time
  1. 여호와의 천사가 하늘에서 '아브라함아, 아브라함아' 하고 불렀다. 아브라함이 '내가 여기 있습니다' 하고 대답하자
  2. 천사는 '그 아이에게 손을 대지 말아라 그에게 아무 해도 입히지 말아라. 네가 하나밖에 없는 네 외아들까지 아끼지 않았으니 네가 하나님을 두려워하는 줄을 내가 이제야 알았다.' 하고 말하였다.
  3. 아브라함이 주위를 살펴보니 뒤에 수양 한 마리가 있는데 뿔이 수풀에 걸려 있었다. 그래서 아브라함은 그 수양을 가져다가 아들 대신 제물로 바쳤다.
  4. 아브라함이 그 곳 이름을 '여호와-이레'라고 불렀으므로 오늘날까지도 사람들이 '여호와의 산에서 준비될 것이다' 라는 말을 하고 있다.
  5. 여호와의 천사가 하늘에서 다시 아브라함을 불러
  1. and said, "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
  2. I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,
  3. and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me."
  4. Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba. And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
  5. Some time later Abraham was told, "Milcah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor:
  1. 여호와의 말씀을 전하였다. '내가 내 이름으로 맹세하지만 네가 이처럼 하나밖에 없는 네 아들까지 아끼지 않았으므로
  2. 내가 너에게 한없는 복을 주어 네 후손을 하늘의 별과 바닷가의 모래알처럼 많게 하겠다. 네 후손들이 그 원수들을 정복할 것이다.
  3. 그리고 네가 나에게 순종하였으므로 네 후손을 통해 세상의 모든 민족이 복을 받을 것이다'
  4. 그리고서 아브라함은 자기 종들에게 와서 그들과 함께 브엘세바로 돌아와 거기서 살았다.
  5. 얼마 후에 아브라함은 밀가가 자기 동생 나홀에게 여덟 명의 자녀를 낳아 준 소식을 듣게 되었다.
  1. Uz the firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel (the father of Aram),
  2. Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph and Bethuel."
  3. Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight sons to Abraham's brother Nahor.
  4. His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also had sons: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash and Maacah.
  1. 그들은 장남 우스와 그 동생 부스, 아람의 아버지인 그무엘,
  2. 게셋, 하소, 빌다스, 이들랍, 리브가의 아버지인 브두엘이었다.
  3. (23절과 같음)
  4. 그리고 나홀의 첩인 르우마도 데바와 가함과 다하스와 마아가를 낳았다.
 
  아브라함의 매장지(23:1-23:20)    
 
  1. Sarah lived to be a hundred and twenty-seven years old.
  2. She died at Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep over her.
  3. Then Abraham rose from beside his dead wife and spoke to the Hittites. He said,
  4. "I am an alien and a stranger among you. Sell me some property for a burial site here so I can bury my dead."
  5. The Hittites replied to Abraham,
  1. 사라는 127세까지 살다가
  2. 가나안 땅의 헤브론 곧 기럇 아르바에서 죽었다. 아브라함이 그녀의 죽음을 슬퍼하며 울다가
  3. 그 시체 곁에서 일어나 헷 사람들에게 가서 말하였다.
  4. '나는 당신들 가운데 살고 있는 나그네이며 이방인입니다. 죽은 내 아내를 묻을 매장지를 나에게 좀 파십시오'
  5. 그러자 그들이 아브라함에게 대답하였다.
  1. "Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your dead in the choicest of our tombs. None of us will refuse you his tomb for burying your dead."
  2. Then Abraham rose and bowed down before the people of the land, the Hittites.
  3. He said to them, "If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar on my behalf
  4. so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you."
  5. Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city.
  1. '당신은 우리 가운데 사는 위대한 지도자입니다. 우리 묘지 중에서 제일 좋은 것을 택하여 당신의 아내를 장사하십시오. 당신이 죽은 아내를 장사하겠다는데 자기 묘지를 아낄 사람이 우리 가운데는 아무도 없습니다'
  2. 그때 아브라함이 일어나 그들 앞에 허리를 굽히며 말하였다.
  3. '당신들이 기꺼이 이 곳에 내 아내를 장사하도록 허락해 주신다면 소할의 아들 에브론에게 부탁하여 그의 밭머리에 있는 막벨라 굴을 나에게 팔아 우리 가족의 매장지가 되게 해 주십시오. 물론 충분한 값을 지불해 드리겠습니다'
  4. (8절과 같음)
  5. 이때 에브론이 성문 집회 장소에서 다른 헷 사람들과 함께 앉아 있다가 그 곳에 모인 사람들이 다 듣는 데서 이렇게 말하였다.
  1. "No, my lord," he said. "Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead."
  2. Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land
  3. and he said to Ephron in their hearing, "Listen to me, if you will. I will pay the price of the field. Accept it from me so I can bury my dead there."
  4. Ephron answered Abraham,
  5. "Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between me and you? Bury your dead."
  1. '제발 그렇게 하지 마시고 내 말을 들으십시오. 내가 내 동족들 앞에서 그 밭과 굴을 당신에게 드릴테니 당신의 죽은 아내를 거기 장사하십시오'
  2. 그러나 아브라함은 헷 사람들 앞에 다시 몸을 굽히고
  3. 모든 사람이 듣는 데서 에브론에게 말하였다. '아닙니다. 내가 그 땅 값을 지불하겠습니다. 아무쪼록 그것을 받으시고 죽은 내 아내를 장사할 수 있게 해 주십시오'
  4. 그러자 에브론은 다시 아브라함에게
  5. '제발 내 말을 들으십시오. 땅 값은 은 4.5 킬로그램이지만 나와 당신 사이에 그것이 무슨 말씀입니까? 당신의 아내를 거기에 장사하십시오' 하였다.
  1. Abraham agreed to Ephron's terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants.
  2. So Ephron's field in Machpelah near Mamre--both the field and the cave in it, and all the trees within the borders of the field--was deeded
  3. to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of the city.
  4. Afterward Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave in the field of Machpelah near Mamre (which is at Hebron) in the land of Canaan.
  5. So the field and the cave in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as a burial site.
  1. 그래서 아브라함은 에브론이 대중 앞에서 말한 대로 은 4.5 킬로그램을 달아 에브론에게 주었다.
  2. 그래서 마므레 앞 막벨라에 있는 에브론의 밭과 그 속의 굴과 밭 언저리에 둘러 있는 모든 나무들이 그 곳에 모인 모든 헷 사람들 앞에서 다 아브라함의 소유가 되었다.
  3. (17절과 같음)
  4. 그리고서 아브라함은 자기 아내 사라를 가나안 땅의 마므레 앞 막벨라 밭에 있는 굴에 장사하였다.
  5. 이렇게 해서 헷 사람들은 그 밭과 그 속의 굴을 아브라함에게 매장지로 양도하였다
