민수기

  본서는 이스라엘 민족의 광야 여정을 기록한 책으로, 이스라엘의 광야 생활 동안 일어났던 일들과 불순종에 대한 하나님의 심판과 자비를 기록하고 있다.

  시내 산에서 하나님과 언약을 맺은 이스라엘은 효율적인 광야 행군을 위한 군대 조직 편성의 기초 작업으로 1차 인구 조사를 실시한다. 그러나 시내 산을 떠난 즉시 그들은 불평하면서 모세에게 대항하고, 가데스에서 하나님을 반역한다. 그 결과 여호수아와 갈렙을 제외한 출애굽 제1세대는 광야에서 죽는다. 그 후 출애굽 제2세대는 마침내 약속의 땅인 가나안 동쪽 경계선인 요단 가 모압 평지에 도착하여 가나안 정복 전쟁 수행과 땅 분배를 위한 2차 인구 조사를 실시한다.

 

 

민수기 1:1-1:54

 하나님께서는 모세에게 백성들의 효과적 진군을 위해 인구 조사를 명령하셨다. 조사 결과, 20세 이상으로 싸움에 나갈 만한 남자의 수가 603,550명으로 집계되었고, 인구 조사에 제외된 레위인들은 성막 봉사자로 선택되었다.
  
  첫번째 인구 조사(1:1-1:54)    
 
  1. The LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said:
  2. "Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.
  3. You and Aaron are to number by their divisions all the men in Israel twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army.
  4. One man from each tribe, each the head of his family, is to help you.
  5. These are the names of the men who are to assist you: from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
  1. 이스라엘 백성이 이집트를 떠난 지 2년째가 되는 해 2월 1일에 여호와께서 시나이 광야 성막에서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너희는 이스라엘의 각 지파와 집안별로 20세 이상 된 남자로서 전쟁에 나가 싸울 수 있는 사람이 몇 명이나 되는지 조사하여라.
  3. 너와 아론은 각 지파에서 선출된 지도자들의 도움을 받아 직접 그 인구 조사를 실시해야 한다.
  4. 너희를 도와 줄 각 지파의 지도자들은 다음과 같다.
  5. 르우벤 지파에서 스데울의 아들 엘리술,
  1. from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
  2. from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
  3. from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
  4. from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
  5. from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
  1. 시므온 지파에서 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘,
  2. 유다 지파에서 암미나답의 아들 나손,
  3. 잇사갈 지파에서 수알의 아들 느다넬,
  4. 스불론 지파에서 헬론의 아들 엘리압,
  5. 요셉 자손 중에서는 에브라임 지파에서 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마, 므낫세 지파에서 브다술의 아들 가말리엘,
  1. from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
  2. from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
  3. from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;
  4. from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
  5. from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan."
  1. 베냐민 지파에서 기드오니의 아들 아비단,
  2. 단 지파에서 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀,
  3. 아셀 지파에서 오그란의 아들 바기엘,
  4. 갓 지파에서 드우엘의 아들 엘리아삽,
  5. 납달리 지파에서 에난의 아들 아히라이다.'
  1. These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders of their ancestral tribes. They were the heads of the clans of Israel.
  2. Moses and Aaron took these men whose names had been given,
  3. and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month. The people indicated their ancestry by their clans and families, and the men twenty years old or more were listed by name, one by one,
  4. as the LORD commanded Moses. And so he counted them in the Desert of Sinai:
  5. From the descendants of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, one by one, according to the records of their clans and families.
  1. 이들은 모두 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 선출된 각 지파의 지도자들이었다.
  2. 그 날에 모세와 아론과 각 지파 지도자들은 20세 이상의 이스라엘 모든 남자들을 소집하여 자기 소속 지파와 집안별로 등록하게 하였다.
  3. 이 모든 일은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 실시되었다.
  4. 전쟁에 나가 싸울 수 있는 20세 이상 등록된 이스라엘 남자들의 수는 각 지파별로 다음과 같다. 야곱의 맏아들 르우벤 지파에서 46,500명, 시므온 지파에서 59,300명, 갓 지파에서 45,650명, 유다 지파에서 74,600명, 잇사갈 지파에서 54,400명, 스불론지파에서 57,400명, 에브라임 지파에서 40,500명, 므낫세지파에서 32,200명, 베냐민 지파에서 35,400명, 단 지파에서 62,700명 아셀 지파에서 41,500명, 납달리 지파에서 53,400명 모두 603,550명 이었다.

  2. From the descendants of Simeon: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were counted and listed by name, one by one, according to the records of their clans and families.
  3. The number from the tribe of Simeon was 59,300.
  4. From the descendants of Gad: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  5. The number from the tribe of Gad was 45,650.

  2. The number from the tribe of Judah was 74,600.
  3. From the descendants of Issachar: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  4. The number from the tribe of Issachar was 54,400.
  5. From the descendants of Zebulun: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.

  1. The number from the tribe of Zebulun was 57,400.
  2. From the sons of Joseph: From the descendants of Ephraim: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  3. The number from the tribe of Ephraim was 40,500.
  4. From the descendants of Manasseh: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  5. The number from the tribe of Manasseh was 32,200.

  1. From the descendants of Benjamin: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  2. The number from the tribe of Benjamin was 35,400.
  3. From the descendants of Dan: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  4. The number from the tribe of Dan was 62,700.
  5. From the descendants of Asher: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.

  1. The number from the tribe of Asher was 41,500.
  2. From the descendants of Naphtali: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
  3. The number from the tribe of Naphtali was 53,400.
  4. These were the men counted by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.
  5. All the Israelites twenty years old or more who were able to serve in Israel's army were counted according to their families.

  1. The total number was 603,550.
  2. The families of the tribe of Levi, however, were not counted along with the others.
  3. The LORD had said to Moses:
  4. "You must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the census of the other Israelites.
  5. Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony--over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it.

  2. 그러나 이 총인원에는 레위인이 포함되지 않았다.
  3. 그것은 여호와께서 모세에게 이렇게 말씀하셨기 때문이다.
  4. '레위 지파는 한 사람도 징집 명단에 포함시키지 말고
  5. 성막과 그 모든 비품을 관리하게 하라. 그들은 성막과 그 모든 기구를 운반하고 성막 주변에 살면서 봉사하게 하라.
  1. Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who goes near it shall be put to death.
  2. The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each man in his own camp under his own standard.
  3. The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the Testimony so that wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the Testimony."
  4. The Israelites did all this just as the LORD commanded Moses.
  1. 성막을 다른 곳으로 옮길 때에는 레위인들이 그것을 걷고 세워야 한다. 그 외에 다른 사람이 이 성막에 접근하면 처형시켜라.
  2. 그리고 이스라엘의 각 지파는 자기 지파의 기를 가지고 지파별로 지역을 정하여 천막을 쳐야 한다.
  3. 그러나 레위인들은 성막 주위에 천막을 쳐서 이스라엘 백성에게 나 여호와의 진노가 내리지 않게 하라. 이와 같이 레위인들은 성막을 지키는 책임을 져야 한다.'
  4. 그래서 이스라엘 백성은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 하였다.
