민수기 16:12-17:13

 고라와 다단, 아비람, 온, 그리고 250명의 지도자들이 당을 지어 출애굽 자체를 악평하고 가나안 입성의 실패에 대한 책임을 모세와 아론에게 전가하며 반역을 일으켰다. 이에 하나님께서는 그들을 준엄하게 심판하셨다. 그리고 아론의 마른 지팡이에 싹이 나는 기적을 행하심으로써 아론의 제사장직의 정당성을 확증하셨다.
  
  고라 일당의 반역(16:12-16:50)    
 
  1. Then Moses summoned Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab. But they said, "We will not come!
  2. Isn't it enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the desert? And now you also want to lord it over us?
  3. Moreover, you haven't brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey or given us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you gouge out the eyes of these men? No, we will not come!"
  4. Then Moses became very angry and said to the LORD, "Do not accept their offering. I have not taken so much as a donkey from them, nor have I wronged any of them."
  5. Moses said to Korah, "You and all your followers are to appear before the LORD tomorrow--you and they and Aaron.
  1. 모세가 사람을 시켜 엘리압의 아들 다단과 아비람을 불러오게 하였으나 그들은 거절하며 이런 전갈을 보냈다 '우리는 가지 않겠소.
  2. 당신이 우리를 비옥한 이집트 땅에서 이끌어내어 이 곳 광야에서 죽이려 한 것도 부족하여 이제는 우리 왕까지 되려고 하시오?
  3. 당신은 우리를 기름지고 비옥한 땅으로 인도하지 않았고 밭이나 포도원도 주지 않았소. 당신이 우리를 끝까지 속일 작정이오? 우리는 가지 않겠소'
  4. 그러자 모세는 몹시 화가 나서 여호와께 '주는 저들의 예물을 받지 마소서. 나는 그들의 당나귀 한 마리도 뺏은 적이 없으며 그들 가운데 한 사람도 해친 적이 없습니다.' 하고 말한 다음
  5. 고라에게 이렇게 말하였다. '너와 너의 모든 추종자들은 내일 여호와 앞으로 나오너라. 아론도 거기 나올 것이다.
  1. Each man is to take his censer and put incense in it--250 censers in all--and present it before the LORD. You and Aaron are to present your censers also."
  2. So each man took his censer, put fire and incense in it, and stood with Moses and Aaron at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
  3. When Korah had gathered all his followers in opposition to them at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, the glory of the LORD appeared to the entire assembly.
  4. The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,
  5. "Separate yourselves from this assembly so I can put an end to them at once."
  1. 너의 추종자 250명에게 각각 향로에 향을 담아 여호와 앞에 가져오게 하고 너도 아론과 함께 향로를 가지고 나아오너라.'
  2. 그래서 그들은 각자 자기 향로에 불을 담아 향을 피워 가지고 와서 모세와 아론과 함께 성막 입구에 섰다.
  3. 그때 고라가 모든 백성을 선동하여 모세와 아론을 대적하려고 하자 갑자기 여호와께서 영광스러운 광채로 모든 사람에게 나타나
  4. 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다.
  5. '너희는 이 사람들에게서 떠나라. 내가 당장 이들을 죽여 버리겠다.'
  1. But Moses and Aaron fell facedown and cried out, "O God, God of the spirits of all mankind, will you be angry with the entire assembly when only one man sins?"
  2. Then the LORD said to Moses,
  3. "Say to the assembly, 'Move away from the tents of Korah, Dathan and Abiram.' "
  4. Moses got up and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him.
  5. He warned the assembly, "Move back from the tents of these wicked men! Do not touch anything belonging to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins."
  1. 그러나 모세와 아론이 엎드려 '하나님이시여, 모든 생명의 근원이신 하나님이시여, 한 사람이 죄를 지었는데 모든 사람에게 노하십니까?' 하고 애원하자
  2. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  3. '너는 백성에게 고라와 다단과 아비람의 천막에서 떠나라고 말하라.'
  4. 모세가 일어나 다단과 아비람에게로 가자 이스라엘 지도자들도 뒤따라갔다.
  5. 그리고 그는 백성에게 '여러분은 이 악한 자들의 천막에서 떠나고 그들의 물건에 일체 손을 대지 마시오. 그렇지 않으면 여러분도 그들의 죄로 함께 멸망할 것입니다.' 하고 말하였다.
  1. So they moved away from the tents of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. Dathan and Abiram had come out and were standing with their wives, children and little ones at the entrances to their tents.
  2. Then Moses said, "This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea:
  3. If these men die a natural death and experience only what usually happens to men, then the LORD has not sent me.
  4. But if the LORD brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt."
  5. As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart
  1. 그래서 그들은 고라와 다단과 아비람의 천막 주변에서 떠나고 다단과 아비람은 그들의 처자와 함께 나와 그들의 천막 입구에 섰다.
  2. 그때 모세가 말하였다. '여러분은 다음 일을 보고 지금까지 내가 한 모든 일이 내 마음대로 한 것이 아니라 여호와께서 나를 보내셔서 하게 한 일임을 알게 될 것입니다.
  3. 만일 이 사람들이 여호와의 형벌을 받지 않고 보통 사람처럼 죽으면 여호와께서 나를 보내신 것이 아닙니다.
  4. 그러나 만일 여호와께서 새로운 기적으로 땅이 갈라지게 하여 이들과 이들의 모든 소유물을 삼켜 산 채로 깊은 구렁에 빠져 죽게 하시면 여러분은 이 사람들이 정말 여호와를 멸시했다는 것을 알게 될 것입니다.'
  5. 모세의 말이 끝나기가 무섭게 다단과 아비람이 서 있는 땅이 갑자기 갈라져
  1. and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, with their households and all Korah's men and all their possessions.
  2. They went down alive into the grave, with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community.
  3. At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, "The earth is going to swallow us too!"
  4. And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.
  5. The LORD said to Moses,
  1. 그들과 그 가족들과 고라의 종들과 그들의 모든 소유물을 삼켜 버렸다.
  2. 그들이 산 채로 깊은 구렁에 빠지자 갈라진 땅이 다시 합해지고 그들은 생매장 되어 지상에서 영원히 사라졌다.
  3. 그 주변의 있던 모든 사람들은 그들의 비명 소리를 듣고 '땅이 우리까지 삼키려 한다!' 하고 소리치며 달아났다.
  4. 그리고 여호와께서는 불을 보내 분향하던 고라의 추종자 250명도 태워 죽였다.
  5. 여호와께서 모세에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  1. "Tell Eleazar son of Aaron, the priest, to take the censers out of the smoldering remains and scatter the coals some distance away, for the censers are holy-
  2. the censers of the men who sinned at the cost of their lives. Hammer the censers into sheets to overlay the altar, for they were presented before the LORD and have become holy. Let them be a sign to the Israelites."
  3. So Eleazar the priest collected the bronze censers brought by those who had been burned up, and he had them hammered out to overlay the altar,
  4. as the LORD directed him through Moses. This was to remind the Israelites that no one except a descendant of Aaron should come to burn incense before the LORD, or he would become like Korah and his followers.
  5. The next day the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. "You have killed the LORD's people," they said.
  1. '너는 아론의 아들 제사장 엘르아살에게 타고 있는 불 속에서 향로를 끄집어내어 그 속의 불을 다른 곳에 쏟으라고 하라. 그 향로는 거룩한 것이다.
  2. 그들은 자기들의 죄에 대한 댓가로 죽었으나 그들의 향로는 나 여호와에게 바쳐진 것이므로 거룩해졌다. 너는 그 향로를 두들겨 제단 표면을 싸는 놋판을 만들어라. 이것이 이스라엘 백성에게 경고가 될 것이다.'
  3. 그래서 제사장 엘르아살은 불에 타 죽은 자들이 바친 그 놋향로들을 두들겨 놋판을 만들어서 제단을 쌌는데
  4. 그것은 아론의 자손이 아닌 사람은 아무도 여호와께 분향하러 나올 수 없으며 그들 외에 분향하는 자는 누구든지 고라와 그의 추종자들처럼 죽임을 당하게 된다는 경고의 표였다. 이와 같이 그는 여호와께서 모세를 통해 명령하신 대로 하였다.
  5. 다음 날 모든 이스라엘 백성이 모세와 아론을 원망하며 '당신들이 여호와의 백성을 죽였소.' 하고 외쳤다.
  1. But when the assembly gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron and turned toward the Tent of Meeting, suddenly the cloud covered it and the glory of the LORD appeared.
  2. Then Moses and Aaron went to the front of the Tent of Meeting,
  3. and the LORD said to Moses,
  4. "Get away from this assembly so I can put an end to them at once." And they fell facedown.
  5. Then Moses said to Aaron, "Take your censer and put incense in it, along with fire from the altar, and hurry to the assembly to make atonement for them. Wrath has come out from the LORD; the plague has started."
  1. 그러나 군중들이 몰려와서 모세와 아론에게 항의하고 있을 때에 성막을 바라보니 구름이 성막을 덮고 여호와의 영광의 광채가 나타났다.
  2. 모세와 아론이 성막 앞으로 가자
  3. 여호와께서 모세에게
  4. '너희는 이 사람들에게서 떠나라. 내가 당장 그들을 죽여 버리겠다.' 하고 말씀하셨다. 그때 그 두 사람은 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다.
  5. 그리고서 모세가 아론에게 말하였다. '형님은 향로를 가져다가 향을 담고 제단 불로 향을 피워 급히 백성들에게 가서 그들을 위해 속죄하십시오. 여호와께서 대단히 노하셔서 무서운 전염병이 발생하였습니다.'
  1. So Aaron did as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. The plague had already started among the people, but Aaron offered the incense and made atonement for them.
  2. He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped.
  3. But 14,700 people died from the plague, in addition to those who had died because of Korah.
  4. Then Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, for the plague had stopped.
  1. 그래서 아론이 모세가 말한 대로 향로를 가지고 백성들에게 달려가 보니 이미 전염병이 번지고 있었다. 그래서 아론이 향을 피워 그들을 위해 속죄하고
  2. 죽은 자들과 살아 있는 자들 사이에 섰을 때에 전염병이 그쳤다.
  3. 그러나 고라의 반역으로 죽은 자들 외에 전염병으로 죽은 자만 14,700명이었다.
  4. 그렇게 해서 전염병은 그쳤고 아론은 성막 입구에 있는 모세에게 돌아왔다.
 
  아론의 싹난 지팡이(17:1-17:13)    
 
  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Speak to the Israelites and get twelve staffs from them, one from the leader of each of their ancestral tribes. Write the name of each man on his staff.
  3. On the staff of Levi write Aaron's name, for there must be one staff for the head of each ancestral tribe.
  4. Place them in the Tent of Meeting in front of the Testimony, where I meet with you.
  5. The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid myself of this constant grumbling against you by the Israelites."
  1. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 이스라엘 백성에게 각 지파 지도자들의 지팡이를 가져오게 하여 그 지팡이에 각 지도자의 이름을 쓰고
  3. 레위 지파의 지팡이에는 아론의 이름을 써라. 각 지파마다 그 지도자의 지팡이가 하나씩 있어야 한다.
  4. 너는 내가 너를 만나는 성막 안의 법궤 앞에 그 지팡이를 두어라.
  5. 내가 택한 자의 지팡이에 싹이 날 것이다. 내가 이렇게 해서 이스라엘 백성이 너희에게 원망하는 소리를 그치게 하겠다.'
  1. So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and their leaders gave him twelve staffs, one for the leader of each of their ancestral tribes, and Aaron's staff was among them.
  2. Moses placed the staffs before the LORD in the Tent of the Testimony.
  3. The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron's staff, which represented the house of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds.
  4. Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORD's presence to all the Israelites. They looked at them, and each man took his own staff.
  5. The LORD said to Moses, "Put back Aaron's staff in front of the Testimony, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die."
  1. 그래서 모세가 이스라엘 사람들에게 말하자 각 지파의 지도자들이 각자 하나씩 모두 12개의 지팡이를 가져왔는데 그 중에는 아론의 지팡이도 있었다.
  2. 모세는 그 모든 지팡이를 성막 안에 있는 여호와의 법궤 앞에 두었다.
  3. 다음 날 모세가 성막 안으로 들어 가 보니 레위 지파를 대표하는 아론의 지팡이에 움이 돋고 순이 나고 꽃이 피어서 익은 살구들이 달려 있었다.
  4. 모세가 그 지팡이를 모두 가지고 나와 모든 이스라엘 백성에게 보이자 그들이 다 의심쩍은 눈으로 바라보았다. 그리고 각 지파 지도자들은 각자 자기 지팡이를 가져갔다.
  5. 그때 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 아론의 지팡이를 법궤 앞으로 다시 가지고 가서 거기 보관하여 반역하는 자들에게 경고가 되게 하고 그들이 나를 원망하다가 죽는 일이 다시는 없게 하라.'
  1. Moses did just as the LORD commanded him.
  2. The Israelites said to Moses, "We will die! We are lost, we are all lost!
  3. Anyone who even comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all going to die?"
  1. 그래서 모세는 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 하였다.
  2. 그러나 이스라엘 백성들은 한탄하며 모세에게 이렇게 말하였다. '우리가 죽게 되었습니다. 이제 우리는 다 망하게 되었습니다.
  3. 여호와의 성막에 가까이 가는 자마다 다 죽게 되었으니 우리가 이렇게 전멸되어야 하겠습니까?'
