민수기 31:1-31:54

 하나님께서 미디안 정복을 명령하시자 이스라엘 자손들은 군대를 파견하여 그들을 정복하였다. 전쟁에서 돌아온 군인들은 모세를 통해 하나님께서 말씀하시는 대로 정결 예식을 거행하였고, 전쟁에서 탈취한 약탈품들을 지시에 따라 분배하였다.
  
  미디안 정복(31:1-31:54)    
 
  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people."
  3. So Moses said to the people, "Arm some of your men to go to war against the Midianites and to carry out the LORD's vengeance on them.
  4. Send into battle a thousand men from each of the tribes of Israel."
  5. So twelve thousand men armed for battle, a thousand from each tribe, were supplied from the clans of Israel.
  1. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 미디안 사람들에게 이스라엘 백성의 원수를 갚아라. 그리고 나면 너는 죽게 될 것이다.'
  2. (1절과 같음)
  3. 그래서 모세는 백성들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '미디안과 싸울 사람들을 무장시켜 여호와의 원수를 갚읍시다.
  4. 각 지파에서 1,000명씩 뽑아 전쟁터에 내보내시오.'
  5. 그래서 그들은 각 지파에서 1,000명씩 뽑아 모두 12,000명을 무장시켰다.
  1. Moses sent them into battle, a thousand from each tribe, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, who took with him articles from the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.
  2. They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses, and killed every man.
  3. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba--the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
  4. The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.
  5. They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps.
  1. 모세는 그들을 전쟁터로 내보내면서 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스도 성소의 기구와 신호 나팔을 가지고 따라가게 하였다.
  2. 그들은 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 미디안을 쳐서 남자들을 모조리 죽이고
  3. 그 밖에 미디안의 다섯 왕 에위, 레겜, 수르, 후르, 레바를 죽였으며 그들은 또 브올의 아들 발람도 칼로 죽였다.
  4. 그리고 이스라엘군은 미디안 여자들과 아이들을 사로잡고 가축을 포함한 그들의 모든 재산을 약탈하였으며
  5. 그들의 성과 마을은 모조리 불태워 버렸다.
  1. They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals,
  2. and brought the captives, spoils and plunder to Moses and Eleazar the priest and the Israelite assembly at their camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.
  3. Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp.
  4. Moses was angry with the officers of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--who returned from the battle.
  5. "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them.
  1. 그리고 그들은 빼앗은 전리품을 가지고 짐승들과 사로잡은 자들을 끌고 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 백성들이 진을 치고 있는 여리고 맞은편에 있는 요단 강변의 모압 평야를 향해 출발하였다.

  4. 그러나 모세는 전쟁터에서 돌아온 지휘관들에게 화를 내며 이렇게 말하였다.
  5. '어째서 귀관들은 여자들을 모두 살려 두었소?
  1. "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people.
  2. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,
  3. but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
  4. "All of you who have killed anyone or touched anyone who was killed must stay outside the camp seven days. On the third and seventh days you must purify yourselves and your captives.
  5. Purify every garment as well as everything made of leather, goat hair or wood."
  1. 이들이 바로 발람의 조언에 따라 브올에서 이스라엘 백성을 유혹하여 여호와께 범죄하게 하고 그들 가운데 전염병이 퍼지게 한 장본인들이 아니오?
  2. 이제 귀관들은 남자아이들을 모조리 죽이고 남자와 성관계를 가진 여자들도 다 죽이시오.
  3. 그러나 남자와 성관계를 갖지 않은 여자들은 귀관들을 위해 살려 두어도 좋소.
  4. 귀관들은 사람을 죽이고 시체를 만졌으니 7일 동안 진영 밖에 있으시오. 3일째 되는 날과 7일째 되는 날에는 귀관들과 사로잡혀온 자들이 다 몸을 깨끗이 하도록 하시오.
  5. 그리고 모든 의복과 가죽 제품, 염소털이나 나무로 만든 물건도 다 정결하게 하시오.'
  1. Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, "This is the requirement of the law that the LORD gave Moses:
  2. Gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, lead
  3. and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water.
  4. On the seventh day wash your clothes and you will be clean. Then you may come into the camp."
  5. The LORD said to Moses,
  1. 그런 다음 제사장 엘르아살이 전쟁에 나갔던 군인들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '이것은 여호와께서 모세에게 주신 법령입니다.
  2. 여러분은 금, 은, 동, 철, 주석, 납과 같이 불에 타지 않는 것은 불에 통과시킨 다음 정결하게 하는 물로 깨끗하게 하고 불에 타는 모든 물건은 그 물로 정결하게 해야 합니다.

  4. 그리고 여러분은 7일째 되는 날에 옷을 빠십시오. 그러면 여러분이 깨끗하게 되어 진영 안으로 들어올 수 있을 것입니다.'
  5. 여호와께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  1. "You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured.
  2. Divide the spoils between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.
  3. From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the LORD one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep or goats.
  4. Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part.
  5. From the Israelites' half, select one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats or other animals. Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the LORD's tabernacle."
  1. '너는 제사장 엘르아살과 백성의 지도자들과 함께 사로잡혀온 사람과 약탈해온 짐승의 수를 파악하고
  2. 사람과 짐승을 포함하여, 모든 전리품을 반으로 나누어 절반은 전쟁에 나갔던 군인들에게 주고 절반은 백성들에게 주어라.
  3. 그리고 군인들이 분배받은 사람과 소와 나귀와 양떼 중에서 500분의 1은 나 여호와의 몫으로 떼어
  4. 나에게 바치는 특별한 예물로 엘르아살에게 주고
  5. 백성들이 분배받은 사람과 소와 나귀와 양떼 중에서는 50분의 1을 떼어 성막을 맡은 레위인들에게 주어라.'
  1. So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep,
  3. 72,000 cattle,
  4. 61,000 donkeys
  5. and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.
  1. 그래서 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 여호와의 명령대로 하였다.
  2. 군인들이 개인적으로 가진 전리품 외에 그들이 백성들에게 끌고 온 짐승은 양이 675,000마리,
  3. 소가 72,000마리,
  4. 나귀가 61,000마리이며
  5. 그들이 사로잡아 온 사람은 남자와 성관계를 하지 않은 여자 32,000명이었다.
  1. The half share of those who fought in the battle was: 337,500 sheep,
  2. of which the tribute for the LORD was 675;
  3. 36,000 cattle, of which the tribute for the LORD was 72;
  4. 30,500 donkeys, of which the tribute for the LORD was 61;
  5. 16,000 people, of which the tribute for the LORD was 32.
  1. 그리고 그것의 절반 곧 군인들이 분배받은 것은 양 337,500마리, 소 36,000마리, 나귀 30,500마리, 사람 16,000명이었으며 그 중에서 여호와께 드린 것은 양 675마리, 소 72마리, 나귀 61마리, 사람 32명이었다.

  1. Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part, as the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. The half belonging to the Israelites, which Moses set apart from that of the fighting men-
  3. the community's half--was 337,500 sheep,
  4. 36,000 cattle,
  5. 30,500 donkeys
  1. 모세는 여호와께서 명령하신 대로 여호와의 몫으로 거둔 것을 다 제사장 엘르아살에게 주었다.
  2. 그리고 모세는 군인들에게 나누어 주고 남은 절반은 이스라엘 백성에게 주었는데 그것은 양 337,500마리, 소 36,000마리, 나귀 30,500마리, 사람 16,000명이었다.

  2. From the Israelites' half, Moses selected one out of every fifty persons and animals, as the LORD commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the LORD's tabernacle.
  3. Then the officers who were over the units of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--went to Moses
  4. and said to him, "Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.
  5. So we have brought as an offering to the LORD the gold articles each of us acquired--armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings and necklaces--to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD."

  2. 모세는 또 여호와의 명령대로 백성들이 분배받은 것 중에서 50분의 1을 거두어 성막을 맡은 레위인들에게 주었다.
  3. 그 후에 군 지휘관들이 모세에게 와서 이렇게 말하였다. '우리가 부하들의 인원을 점검한 결과 희생자가 한 사람도 없습니다.

  5. 그래서 우리가 가지고 온 발목고리, 팔찌, 반지, 귀고리, 목걸이와 같은 금패물을 우리 생명에 대한 감사예물로 여호와께 드립니다.'
  1. Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted from them the gold--all the crafted articles.
  2. All the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds that Moses and Eleazar presented as a gift to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.
  3. Each soldier had taken plunder for himself.
  4. Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
  1. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 그들에게서 금패물을 받았는데
  2. 그 금의 전체 무게는 약 190킬로그램이었으며
  3. 이것은 군인들이 개인적으로 가지고 온 전리품이었다.
  4. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 그 금을 성막으로 가지고 가서 이스라엘 백성의 기념물로 여호와 앞에 두었다.
