민수기 35:1-36:13

 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 그들의 기업 중 일부를 레위인에게 줄 것을 명하셨다. 레위인은 모두 48성읍을 받게 되었는데, 하나님께서는 그 중 6성읍을 도피성으로 정하여 과실로 살인한 자들이 피할 수 있게 하셨다. 슬로브핫 딸들은 하나님께서 제정하신 여성 상속법에 따라 자신과 같은 지파 남자와 결혼하여 기업을 지켰다.
  
  레위 지파의 성읍(35:1-35:34)    
 
  1. On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, the LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Command the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. And give them pasturelands around the towns.
  3. Then they will have towns to live in and pasturelands for their cattle, flocks and all their other livestock.
  4. "The pasturelands around the towns that you give the Levites will extend out fifteen hundred feet from the town wall.
  5. Outside the town, measure three thousand feet on the east side, three thousand on the south side, three thousand on the west and three thousand on the north, with the town in the center. They will have this area as pastureland for the towns.
  1. 여호와께서 여리고 맞은편 요단 강변 모압 평야에서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '너는 이스라엘 백성에게 명령하여 그들이 분배받을 땅에서 레위인에게 성과 그 주변 들을 주어
  3. 그 성에서 살게 하고 들은 그들이 가축을 기르는 목초지로 쓰게 하라.
  4. 너희가 레위인에게 줄 성 주변 목초지는 성벽으로부터 사방 900미터 이내의 땅이다.
  5. 성을 중앙에 두고 성 밖으로 동서남북 각각 900미터씩 측량하여 그들의 목초지가 되게 하라.
  1. "Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone may flee. In addition, give them forty-two other towns.
  2. In all you must give the Levites forty-eight towns, together with their pasturelands.
  3. The towns you give the Levites from the land the Israelites possess are to be given in proportion to the inheritance of each tribe: Take many towns from a tribe that has many, but few from one that has few."
  4. Then the LORD said to Moses:
  5. "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you cross the Jordan into Canaan,
  1. 너희는 과실로 사람을 죽인 자가 피신할 수 있는 도피성 6개와 주변에 목초지가 딸린 42개의 성을 레위인에게 주어라.
  2. 너희가 레위인에게 주어야 할 성은 모두 48개의 성이다.
  3. 각 지파가 레위인에게 줄 성의 수는 분배받은 땅의 크기에 따라 결정하여라. 땅을 많이 분배받은 지파는 성을 많이 주고, 땅을 적게 분배받은 지파는 적게 주어라.'
  4. 여호와께서 모세를 통하여 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '너희가 요단강을 건너 가나안 땅에 들어가거든

  1. select some towns to be your cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone accidentally may flee.
  2. They will be places of refuge from the avenger, so that a person accused of murder may not die before he stands trial before the assembly.
  3. These six towns you give will be your cities of refuge.
  4. Give three on this side of the Jordan and three in Canaan as cities of refuge.
  5. These six towns will be a place of refuge for Israelites, aliens and any other people living among them, so that anyone who has killed another accidentally can flee there.
  1. 몇 개의 성을 도피성으로 선정하여 과실로 사람을 죽인 자가 피신할 수 있게 하라.
  2. 그 곳은 살인자가 군중 앞에서 정당한 재판을 받을 때까지 복수하려는 자들에게 죽임을 당하지 않고 피신할 수 있는 곳이다.
  3. 이 6개의 도피성 가운데 3개는 요단강 동쪽에, 3개는 가나안 땅에 선정하여라.

  5. 이 도피성들은 이스라엘 사람뿐 아니라 너희 중에 영주하거나 잠시 머무는 외국인에게도 피신처가 될 것이다. 그러므로 과실로 사람을 죽인 자는 누구든지 이 곳으로 도피할 수 있다.
  1. " 'If a man strikes someone with an iron object so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
  2. Or if anyone has a stone in his hand that could kill, and he strikes someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
  3. Or if anyone has a wooden object in his hand that could kill, and he hits someone so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to death.
  4. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.
  5. If anyone with malice aforethought shoves another or throws something at him intentionally so that he dies
  1. 만일 어떤 사람이 쇠나 나무로 된 물건이나 돌로 사람을 쳐죽이면 그는 고의로 사람을 죽인 자이므로 그를 반드시 죽여야 한다.

  4. 죽은 사람을 위해 복수하려는 자가 그 살인자를 만나면 직접 죽여라.
  5. 만일 어떤 사람을 미워하여 밀어 넘어뜨리거나 숨어 있다가 무엇을 던지거나
  1. or if in hostility he hits him with his fist so that he dies, that person shall be put to death; he is a murderer. The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
  2. " 'But if without hostility someone suddenly shoves another or throws something at him unintentionally
  3. or, without seeing him, drops a stone on him that could kill him, and he dies, then since he was not his enemy and he did not intend to harm him,
  4. the assembly must judge between him and the avenger of blood according to these regulations.
  5. The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send him back to the city of refuge to which he fled. He must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
  1. 앙심을 품고 주먹으로 쳐서 죽이면 그는 고의적으로 사람을 죽인 자이므로 그를 반드시 죽여야 한다. 죽은 사람을 위해 복수하려는 자가 그를 만나면 직접 죽여라.
  2. 그러나 아무런 악의가 없이 우연히 사람을 밀어 넘어뜨리거나 무엇을 던지거나
  3. 보지 않고 돌을 던져 사람이 죽으면
  4. 백성은 그것이 과실인지 아닌지 결정하며
  5. 과실로 판명되면 그를 복수하려는 사람에게서 구하여 그가 피신하였던 도피성으로 돌려보내라. 그는 대제사장이 죽을 때까지 거기서 살아야 한다.
  1. " 'But if the accused ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which he has fled
  2. and the avenger of blood finds him outside the city, the avenger of blood may kill the accused without being guilty of murder.
  3. The accused must stay in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest; only after the death of the high priest may he return to his own property.
  4. " 'These are to be legal requirements for you throughout the generations to come, wherever you live.
  5. " 'Anyone who kills a person is to be put to death as a murderer only on the testimony of witnesses. But no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.
  1. 만일 그 살인자가 도피성 밖으로 나갔을 경우
  2. 복수자가 그를 도피성 밖에서 만나 죽여도 그것은 살인죄가 되지 않는다.
  3. 이것은 대제사장이 죽을 때까지 도피성에 머물러 있어야 할 사람이 그 곳을 떠났기 때문이다. 그러나 대제사장이 죽은 후에는 그가 자기 고향으로 돌아갈 수 있다.
  4. 이것은 이스라엘 백성이 대대로 지켜야 할 규정이다.
  5. 고의로 사람을 죽인 살인자는 반드시 처형되어야 하지만 두 사람 이상의 증인이 있어야 한다. 한 사람의 증인으로서는 살인자를 처형할 수가 없다.
  1. " 'Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death.
  2. " 'Do not accept a ransom for anyone who has fled to a city of refuge and so allow him to go back and live on his own land before the death of the high priest.
  3. " 'Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
  4. Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.' "
  1. 누구든지 살인자로 확정되면 반드시 죽여야 하며 그의 형벌을 벌금으로 대신해서는 안 된다.
  2. 그리고 대제사장이 죽기도 전에 도피성에 피신해 있는 자에게서 돈을 받고 그를 자기 고향으로 돌아가 살게 해서도 안 된다.
  3. 너희는 이런 식으로 너희 땅을 더럽히지 말아라. 살인은 땅을 더럽히므로 살인자를 처형하지 않고는 피로 더럽혀진 그 땅을 깨끗하게 할 수가 없다
  4. 너희는 너희가 사는 땅, 곧 내가 머무는 땅을 더럽히지 말아라. 나 여호와가 너희 이스라엘 백성 가운데 살고 있다.'
 
  슬로브핫 딸들의 기업(36:1-36:13)    
 
  1. The family heads of the clan of Gilead son of Makir, the son of Manasseh, who were from the clans of the descendants of Joseph, came and spoke before Moses and the leaders, the heads of the Israelite families.
  2. They said, "When the LORD commanded my lord to give the land as an inheritance to the Israelites by lot, he ordered you to give the inheritance of our brother Zelophehad to his daughters.
  3. Now suppose they marry men from other Israelite tribes; then their inheritance will be taken from our ancestral inheritance and added to that of the tribe they marry into. And so part of the inheritance allotted to us will be taken away.
  4. When the Year of Jubilee for the Israelites comes, their inheritance will be added to that of the tribe into which they marry, and their property will be taken from the tribal inheritance of our forefathers."
  5. Then at the LORD's command Moses gave this order to the Israelites: "What the tribe of the descendants of Joseph is saying is right.
  1. 요셉 자손 중에서 므낫세의 손자이며 마길의 아들인 길르앗 집안 가장들이 이스라엘 지도자들 앞에서 모세에게
  2. 이렇게 말하였다. '여호와께서는 제비를 뽑아 이스라엘 백성에게 땅을 나누어 주라고 당신에게 명령하셨으며 또 우리 형제 슬로브핫의 땅을 그의 딸들에게 주라고 명령하셨습니다.
  3. 그러나 그 딸들이 다른 지파 사람과 결혼하게 되면 그들의 땅이 시집 지파의 재산이 되어 우리 지파의 땅은 줄어들게 될 것입니다.
  4. 그리고 일단 다른 지파에게 넘어간 땅은 희년이 되어도 다시 우리에게 돌아오지 않을 것입니다.'
  5. 그래서 모세는 여호와의 지시를 받아 이스라엘 백성에게 이렇게 말하였다. '므낫세 지파 사람들의 말이 옳습니다.
  1. This is what the LORD commands for Zelophehad's daughters: They may marry anyone they please as long as they marry within the tribal clan of their father.
  2. No inheritance in Israel is to pass from tribe to tribe, for every Israelite shall keep the tribal land inherited from his forefathers.
  3. Every daughter who inherits land in any Israelite tribe must marry someone in her father's tribal clan, so that every Israelite will possess the inheritance of his fathers.
  4. No inheritance may pass from tribe to tribe, for each Israelite tribe is to keep the land it inherits."
  5. So Zelophehad's daughters did as the LORD commanded Moses.
  1. 여호와께서는 슬로브핫의 딸들이 자기가 원하는 사람과 결혼할 수 있으나 자기 지파 안에서만 결혼해야 한다고 말씀하셨습니다.
  2. 이렇게 하면 이스라엘 각 지파의 재산이 자기 지파 재산으로 유지될 것입니다.
  3. 이스라엘 각 지파에서 재산을 상속받은 딸들은 반드시 자기 지파 사람과 결혼해야 합니다. 그래야만 이스라엘 자손이 그 조상의 유산을 보존하게 될 것입니다.
  4. 이렇게 함으로써 땅이 한 지파에서 다른 지파로 이전되지 않고 각 지파는 자기들의 땅을 계속 소유하게 될 것입니다.'
  5. 슬로브핫의 딸 말라와 디르사와 호글라와 밀가와 노아는 여호와께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 요셉의 아들 므낫세 지파안에서 그들의 사촌과 결혼하였다. 그래서 그들의 재산이 그 아버지의 지파에 그대로 남아 있게 되었다.
  1. Zelophehad's daughters--Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah--married their cousins on their father's side.
  2. They married within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in their father's clan and tribe.
  3. These are the commands and regulations the LORD gave through Moses to the Israelites on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
