사사기 5:1-6:40

 드보라와 바락은 가나안 왕 야빈을 물리친 후 승리를 기념하는 노래를 지어 불렀다. 이스라엘이 다시 타락하자 하나님께서는 미디안을 통해 징계하셨다. 미디안의 압제하에 고통받던 이스라엘은 다시 하나님께 회개하며 부르짖었다. 이에 하나님께서는 기드온을 사사로 부르셨으며, 여러 가지 이적과 징표를 통해 그에게 소명을 확신시켜 주셨다.
  
  드보라와 바락의 노래(5:1-5:31)    
 
  1. On that day Deborah and Barak son of Abinoam sang this song:
  2. "When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willingly offer themselves-- praise the LORD!
  3. "Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers! I will sing to the LORD, I will sing; I will make music to the LORD, the God of Israel.
  4. "O LORD, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the land of Edom, the earth shook, the heavens poured, the clouds poured down water.
  5. The mountains quaked before the LORD, the One of Sinai, before the LORD, the God of Israel.
  1. 그 날 드보라와 아비노암의 아들 바락이 이런 승리의 개가를 불렀다.
  2. 여호와를 찬양하라. 이스라엘의 지도자들이 용감히 앞장섰고 백성들은 기꺼이 따라 나섰다
  3. 너희 왕들아, 들어라. 너희 통치자들아, 귀를 기울여라. 내가 여호와께 노래하며 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 찬양하리라.
  4. 여호와여, 주께서 세일에서 나오시고 에돔 땅에서 나오실 때 땅이 진동하고 하늘이 비를 쏟았으며
  5. 산들이 여호와 앞에서 흔들리고 시내산마저 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와 앞에서 진동하였습니다.
  1. "In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the roads were abandoned; travelers took to winding paths.
  2. Village life in Israel ceased, ceased until I, Deborah, arose, arose a mother in Israel.
  3. When they chose new gods, war came to the city gates, and not a shield or spear was seen among forty thousand in Israel.
  4. My heart is with Israel's princes, with the willing volunteers among the people. Praise the LORD!
  5. "You who ride on white donkeys, sitting on your saddle blankets, and you who walk along the road, consider
  1. 아낫의 아들 삼갈의 날에, 야엘의 날에, 넓은 길은 텅 비었고 사람들은 소로로 다녔다.

  5. 흰 당나귀를 타는 자, 값비싼 양탄자 위에 앉은 자, 거리를 걷는 자들아, 다 함께 찬양하라.
  1. the voice of the singers at the watering places. They recite the righteous acts of the LORD, the righteous acts of his warriors in Israel. "Then the people of the LORD went down to the city gates.
  2. 'Wake up, wake up, Deborah! Wake up, wake up, break out in song! Arise, O Barak! Take captive your captives, O son of Abinoam.'
  3. "Then the men who were left came down to the nobles; the people of the LORD came to me with the mighty.
  4. Some came from Ephraim, whose roots were in Amalek; Benjamin was with the people who followed you. From Makir captains came down, from Zebulun those who bear a commander's staff.
  5. The princes of Issachar were with Deborah; yes, Issachar was with Barak, rushing after him into the valley. In the districts of Reuben there was much searching of heart.
  1. 우물가에 요란한 소리가 있으니 여호와의 의로운 행위와 농촌 사람들의 승리를 찬양하는 노래로구나. 그때 여호와의 백성들은 성문으로 행진해 갔다.
  2. 드보라여, 일어나라. 일어나서 노래하라. 바락이여, 일어나라 아비노암의 아들이여, 네 포로를 끌고 가라
  3. 그때 살아 남은 자들이 귀족들에게 내려오고 여호와의 백성이 용감한 병사가 되어 나에게 왔다.
  4. 아말렉의 뿌리 박은 자들이 에브라임에서 내려오고 그 뒤에는 베냐민이 따랐으며 마길에서 지휘관들이 내려오고 스불론에서 장교들이 내려왔다
  5. 잇사갈의 지도자들이 드보라와 함께 하였네. 잇사갈은 바락과 함께 골짜기로 내려갔으나 르우벤 지파는 망설이다가 내려가지 않았다.
  1. Why did you stay among the campfires to hear the whistling for the flocks? In the districts of Reuben there was much searching of heart.
  2. Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan. And Dan, why did he linger by the ships? Asher remained on the coast and stayed in his coves.
  3. The people of Zebulun risked their very lives; so did Naphtali on the heights of the field.
  4. "Kings came, they fought; the kings of Canaan fought at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo, but they carried off no silver, no plunder.
  5. From the heavens the stars fought, from their courses they fought against Sisera.
  1. 어째서 너희는 양의 우리에 앉아 목동들의 피리 소리만 듣고 있는가? 르우벤 지파는 이리저리 망설이며 번민하였네.
  2. 길르앗은 요단 저편에 머물러 있었고 단은 배에 머물러 있었으며 아셀은 해변의 자기 땅에 머물러 있었으나

  1. The river Kishon swept them away, the age-old river, the river Kishon. March on, my soul; be strong!
  2. Then thundered the horses' hoofs-- galloping, galloping go his mighty steeds.
  3. 'Curse Meroz,' said the angel of the LORD. 'Curse its people bitterly, because they did not come to help the LORD, to help the LORD against the mighty.'
  4. "Most blessed of women be Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, most blessed of tent-dwelling women.
  5. He asked for water, and she gave him milk; in a bowl fit for nobles she brought him curdled milk.
  1. 기손강의 급류가 그들을 쓸어 버렸으니 내 영혼아, 힘차게 행진하여라.
  2. 요란하게 달리는 말발굽 소리에 땅이 진동하였네.

  1. Her hand reached for the tent peg, her right hand for the workman's hammer. She struck Sisera, she crushed his head, she shattered and pierced his temple.
  2. At her feet he sank, he fell; there he lay. At her feet he sank, he fell; where he sank, there he fell-dead.
  3. "Through the window peered Sisera's mother; behind the lattice she cried out, 'Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why is the clatter of his chariots delayed?'
  4. The wisest of her ladies answer her; indeed, she keeps saying to herself,
  5. 'Are they not finding and dividing the spoils: a girl or two for each man, colorful garments as plunder for Sisera, colorful garments embroidered, highly embroidered garments for my neck-- all this as plunder?'
  1. 야엘이 한 손에 천막 말뚝을 잡고 또 한 손에는 일꾼의 망치를 잡아 시스라의 머리를 쳐서 박았으니 그것이 관자놀이를 꿰뚫고 말았네.
  2. 시스라가 엎드러졌구나! 야엘의 발 앞에 엎드러져 죽었구나!
  3. 시스라의 어머니가 창에서 내다보고 외쳤다. '아들의 전차가 왜 이렇게 오지 않는가? 왜 전차 소리가 들리지 않는가?'
  4. 그의 지혜로운 시녀들이 대답하였고 그도 스스로 말한다.
  5. 그들이 어찌 약탈물을 얻어 나누지 않았겠는가? 군인마다 한두 처녀씩 차지하였으리라. 시스라도 채색 옷을 약탈했을 것이니 내 목에 걸어 줄 수 놓은 옷이리라.'
  1. "So may all your enemies perish, O LORD! But may they who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength." Then the land had peace forty years.
  1. 여호와여, 주의 원수들을 이와 같이 망하게 하시고 주를 사랑하는 자는 떠오르는 태양처럼 찬란하게 하소서!' 그 후 그 땅에는 40년 동안 평화가 있었다.
 
  기드온의 소명(6:1-6:40)    
 
  1. Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and for seven years he gave them into the hands of the Midianites.
  2. Because the power of Midian was so oppressive, the Israelites prepared shelters for themselves in mountain clefts, caves and strongholds.
  3. Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples invaded the country.
  4. They camped on the land and ruined the crops all the way to Gaza and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys.
  5. They came up with their livestock and their tents like swarms of locusts. It was impossible to count the men and their camels; they invaded the land to ravage it.
  1. 이스라엘 백성이 다시 여호와께 범죄하였으므로 여호와께서는 그들을 7년 동안 미디안 사람들의 지배를 받게 하셨다.
  2. 미디안 사람들이 너무 잔인했기 때문에 이스라엘 사람들은 산 속 동굴과 안전 지대로 피신해 살았다.
  3. 이스라엘 사람이 씨를 심어 놓으면 미디안 사람과 아말렉 사람과 동방 사람들이 쳐들어와
  4. 그 땅에 진을 치고 가사 지방까지 모든 농작물을 해치며 양과 소와 나귀를 모조리 약탈해 갔다.
  5. 그들은 가축과 천막을 가지고 메뚜기 떼처럼 몰려왔는데 사람과 낙타가 너무 많아 셀 수 없을 정도였다. 그들이 와서 그 땅을 폐허로 만들었으나
  1. Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the LORD for help.
  2. When the Israelites cried to the LORD because of Midian,
  3. he sent them a prophet, who said, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
  4. I snatched you from the power of Egypt and from the hand of all your oppressors. I drove them from before you and gave you their land.
  5. I said to you, 'I am the LORD your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live.' But you have not listened to me."
  1. 이스라엘 백성은 그들을 대항할 힘이 없었다.
  2. 미디안 사람들 때문에 이스라엘 백성이 여호와께 부르짖자
  3. 여호와께서는 그들에게 한 예언자를 보내 그를 통해서 백성들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. '나는 이집트에서 종살이하던 너희를 인도해 내었고

  5. 그리고 내가 너희에게 나는 너희 하나님 여호와이다. 그러니 너희가 살고 있는 땅에서 아모리 사람의 신들을 섬기지 말아라 하였으나 너희는 듣지 않았다.'
  1. The angel of the LORD came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites.
  2. When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior."
  3. "But sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, 'Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?' But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian."
  4. The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?"
  5. "But Lord , " Gideon asked, "how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."
  1. 어느 날 여호와의 천사가 오브라로 가서 아비에셀 사람 요아스의 상수리나무 아래 앉았다. 그때 요아스의 아들 기드온은 미디안 사람의 눈을 피해 포도즙틀에서 밀을 타작하고 있었다.
  2. 여호와의 천사가 기드온에게 나타나 '힘 센 용사여, 여호와께서 너와 함께 하신다' 하자
  3. 기드온이 이렇게 대답하였다. '내 주여, 만일 여호와께서 우리와 함께 하신다면 어째서 이 모든 일이 우리에게 일어났습니까? 우리 조상들은 여호와께서 놀라운 기적으로 그들을 이집트에서 인도해 내셨다고 우리에게 말해 주었는데 지금 그런 기적이 어디 있습니까? 여호와께서는 우리를 버려 미디안 사람의 손에 맡기셨습니다.'
  4. 그때 여호와께서 그를 보시며 말씀하셨다. '너는 있는 힘을 다해, 가서 이스라엘을 미디안 사람의 손에서 구출하라! 내가 너를 보낸다'
  5. 여호와여, 내가 어떻게 이스라엘을 구출할 수 있겠습니까? 내 집안은 므낫세 지파 중에서 가장 약하고 나는 내 가족 중에서 가장 보잘 것 없는 자입니다.
  1. The LORD answered, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together."
  2. Gideon replied, "If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me.
  3. Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you." And the LORD said, "I will wait until you return."
  4. Gideon went in, prepared a young goat, and from an ephah of flour he made bread without yeast. Putting the meat in a basket and its broth in a pot, he brought them out and offered them to him under the oak.
  5. The angel of God said to him, "Take the meat and the unleavened bread, place them on this rock, and pour out the broth." And Gideon did so.
  1. '나 여호와가 너와 함께 하겠다! 그러므로 너는 한사람을 치듯이 미디안 사람들을 쉽게 칠 수 있을 것이다'
  2. '내가 주의 은총을 입었다면 나와 말씀하시는 분이 진짜 여호와라는 증거를 보여 주십시오.
  3. 내가 가서 예물을 가져와 주 앞에 드릴 때까지 이 곳을 떠나지 말고 기다리십시오.' '좋다. 네가 돌아올 때까지 내가 이곳에 머물러 있겠다.'
  4. 그래서 기드온은 집으로 가서 염소 새끼 한 마리를 잡고 밀가루 2.2리터로 누룩 넣지 않은 빵을 만들어 그 고기는 바구니에 담고 국물은 남비에 담아 상수리나무 아래로 가지고 가서 그에게 드렸다.
  5. 그러자 하나님의 천사가 '그 고기와 빵은 바위 위에 놓고 국물을 그 위에 쏟아라.' 하고 말씀하셨다. 그래서 기드온은 그대로 하였다.
  1. With the tip of the staff that was in his hand, the angel of the LORD touched the meat and the unleavened bread. Fire flared from the rock, consuming the meat and the bread. And the angel of the LORD disappeared.
  2. When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he exclaimed, "Ah, Sovereign LORD! I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!"
  3. But the LORD said to him, "Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die."
  4. So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.
  5. That same night the LORD said to him, "Take the second bull from your father's herd, the one seven years old. Tear down your father's altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.
  1. 그때 여호와의 천사가 손에 든 지팡이 끝을 그 고기와 빵에 갖다 대자 바위에서 불이 나와 그 고기와 빵을 태워 버렸다. 그리고서 천사는 간데온데없이 사라져 버렸다.
  2. 기드온은 그가 여호와의 천사였음을 알고 두려워서 '주 여호와여, 내가 여호와의 천사를 대면하였습니다!' 하고 부르짖었다.
  3. 그러자 여호와께서 '안심하여라. 두려워하지 말아라. 너는 죽지 않을 것이다' 하고 말씀하셨다.
  4. 그래서 기드온은 그 곳에 단을 쌓고 그 이름을 '여호와-살롬'이라 불렀는데 그것이 오늘날까지도 아비에셀 사람의 땅인 오브라에 그대로 있다.
  5. 그 날 밤 여호와께서 기드온에게 말씀하셨다. '너는 네 아버지의 소떼 중에서 7년 뒤 제일 좋은 수소 한 마리를 끌어다 놓은 다음 네 아버지가 섬기는 바알의 제단을 헐고 그 곁에 있는 아세라 여신상을 찍어 버려라.
  1. Then build a proper kind of altar to the LORD your God on the top of this height. Using the wood of the Asherah pole that you cut down, offer the second bull as a burnt offering."
  2. So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the LORD told him. But because he was afraid of his family and the men of the town, he did it at night rather than in the daytime.
  3. In the morning when the men of the town got up, there was Baal's altar, demolished, with the Asherah pole beside it cut down and the second bull sacrificed on the newly built altar!
  4. They asked each other, "Who did this?" When they carefully investigated, they were told, "Gideon son of Joash did it."
  5. The men of the town demanded of Joash, "Bring out your son. He must die, because he has broken down Baal's altar and cut down the Asherah pole beside it."
  1. 그리고서 이 산꼭대기에 네 하나님 여호와를 위해 단을 쌓고 그 수소를 잡아 네가 잘라 버린 아세라 여신상의 나무로 불태워 번제를 드려라'
  2. 그래서 기드온은 10명의 종을 데리고 가서 여호와께서 말씀하신 대로 하였다. 그러나 그는 가족과 성 주민들을 두려워하여 그 일을 낮에 하지 못하고 밤에 하였다.
  3. 다음 날 아침 일찍 성 사람들이 일어나 보니 바알 제단이 헐려 있었고 그 곁에 있던 아세라 여신상은 잘라졌으며 그 대신 새로 쌓은 제단 위에 수소를 번제로 드린 흔적이 있었다.
  4. 그러자 그들은 '누가 이런 짓을 하였느냐?' 하고 서로 묻고 자세히 조사한 다음 요아스의 아들 기드온이 그렇게 한 것을 알고
  5. 요아스에게 말하였다. '네 아들을 끌어내라. 죽여 버리겠다. 그놈이 바알의 제단을 헐고 그 곁에 있는 아세라 여신상을 찍어 버렸다.'
  1. But Joash replied to the hostile crowd around him, "Are you going to plead Baal's cause? Are you trying to save him? Whoever fights for him shall be put to death by morning! If Baal really is a god, he can defend himself when someone breaks down his altar."
  2. So that day they called Gideon "Jerub-Baal, " saying, "Let Baal contend with him," because he broke down Baal's altar.
  3. Now all the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples joined forces and crossed over the Jordan and camped in the Valley of Jezreel.
  4. Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, summoning the Abiezrites to follow him.
  5. He sent messengers throughout Manasseh, calling them to arms, and also into Asher, Zebulun and Naphtali, so that they too went up to meet them.
  1. 그러나 요아스는 몰려온 군중들에게 이렇게 말하였다. '당신들이 바알을 위해 싸울 작정이오? 당신들은 그를 구할 수 있다고 생각하시오? 그를 위해 싸우는 자는 누구든지 내일 아침까지 죽임을 당할 것이오. 바알이 진짜 신이라면 그의 단이 헐렸으니 자신을 위해 싸우게 하시오.'
  2. 그래서 그때부터 기드온은 '여룹바알'로 알려졌다. 이것은 그가 바알의 단을 헐었으므로 바알이 직접 그와 싸우게 하라는 말에서 유래된 것이다.
  3. 그때 모든 미디안 사람들과 아말렉 사람들과 동방사람들이 합세하여 요단강을 건너 이스르엘 골짜기에 진을 쳤다.
  4. 그러자 여호와의 성령에 감동된 기드온이 나팔을 불어 아비에셀 사람들을 모아 자기를 따르게 하였고
  5. 또 므낫세 지파 전역에 사람을 보내 병력을 소집하였다. 그리고 아셀과 스불론과 납달리 땅에도 사람을 보내자 그들도 올라와서 기드온을 따랐다.
  1. Gideon said to God, "If you will save Israel by my hand as you have promised-
  2. look, I will place a wool fleece on the threshing floor. If there is dew only on the fleece and all the ground is dry, then I will know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you said."
  3. And that is what happened. Gideon rose early the next day; he squeezed the fleece and wrung out the dew--a bowlful of water.
  4. Then Gideon said to God, "Do not be angry with me. Let me make just one more request. Allow me one more test with the fleece. This time make the fleece dry and the ground covered with dew."
  5. That night God did so. Only the fleece was dry; all the ground was covered with dew.
  1. 그때 기드온이 하나님께 말하였다. '만일 주께서 약속하신 대로 나를 통해 이스라엘을 구원하려고 하시면
  2. 그 사실을 나에게 증명해 주십시오. 내가 오늘 밤 타작 마당에 양털 한 뭉치를 놓아 두겠습니다. 만일 아침에 이슬이 양털에만 내려 있고 그 밖의 모든 땅은 말라 있으면 주께서 말씀하신 대로 나를 통해 이스라엘을 구원하실 것을 내가 알겠습니다.'
  3. 그러자 그가 말한 그대로 되었다. 기드온이 다음 날 아침 일찍 일어나서 그 양털 뭉치를 짰을 때 물이 한 그릇 가득 나왔다
  4. 그때 기드온은 다시 하나님께 이렇게 말하였다. '나에게 노하지 마십시오. 양털로 한 번만 더 확인하게 해 주십시오. 이번에는 양털만 말라 있고 그 밖의 모든 땅에는 이슬이 내리게 하소서.'
  5. 그래서 그 날 밤 하나님이 그대로 하셨는데 양털만 말라 있었고 모든 땅은 이슬로 젖어 있었다.
