역대하 8:1-9:31

 솔로몬의 지혜로운 통치로 말미암아 정치, 경제, 종교, 각 방면으로 부강한 나라가 되었다. 그의 명성을 듣고 방문한 스바 여왕은 솔로몬의 지혜와 부귀 영화에 탄복하고 돌아갔다.
  
  솔로몬의 업적들(8:1-8:18)    
 
  1. At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the LORD and his own palace,
  2. Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram had given him, and settled Israelites in them.
  3. Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.
  4. He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.
  5. He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars,
  1. 솔로몬이 여호와의 성전과 자기 궁전을 짓는 데 20년이 걸렸다.
  2. 그리고 그는 두로의 히람왕이 그에게 준 성들을 재건하여 이스라엘 사람들을 그 곳에 살게 하였다.
  3. 또 솔로몬이 하맛-소바성을 쳐서 점령한 것도 이 당시였다.
  4. 그리고 그는 광야에 다드몰을 건설하고 하맛에 여러 국고성을 건축했으며
  5. 윗 벧-호론과 아래 벧-호론을 요새화하여 성벽을 쌓고 빗장을 칠 수 있는 성문을 만들어 세웠다.
  1. as well as Baalath and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horses --whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.
  2. All the people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (these peoples were not Israelites),
  3. that is, their descendants remaining in the land, whom the Israelites had not destroyed--these Solomon conscripted for his slave labor force, as it is to this day.
  4. But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers.
  5. They were also King Solomon's chief officials--two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.
  1. 그는 또 바알랏과 여러 국고성을 짓고 전차와 말을 수용할 성들을 세웠으며 예루살렘과 레바논과 그의 전 영토에 자기가 짓고 싶은 것을 모두 건축하였다.

  4. 그러나 솔로몬이 이스라엘 백성은 사역군으로 삼지 않고 사병, 군지휘관, 전차 부대와 기병대 대장으로 삼았다.
  5. 그리고 그는 이스라엘 사람 250명을 뽑아 이 사역군들의 업무를 감독하게 하였다.
  1. Solomon brought Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, "My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the LORD has entered are holy."
  2. On the altar of the LORD that he had built in front of the portico, Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the LORD,
  3. according to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for Sabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts--the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles.
  4. In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their duties, and the Levites to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day's requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God had ordered.
  5. They did not deviate from the king's commands to the priests or to the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.
  1. 솔로몬은 그의 아내인 바로의 딸을 예루살렘의 다윗성에서 새로 지은 궁전으로 이사를 시키고 이렇게 말하였다. '내 아내는 다윗궁에 살아서는 안 된다. 이것은 여호와의 궤가 있던 그 곳이 거룩한 땅이기 때문이다.'
  2. 솔로몬은 성전 현관 앞에 쌓은 여호와의 단에 번제를 드렸는데
  3. 그는 모세가 지시한 대로 매일 드리는 제사 외에도 안식일과 매월 초하루와 또 연례적으로 지키는 세 명절, 곧 누룩 넣지 않은 빵을 먹는 무교절과 오순절이라고도 부르는 칠칠절과 그리고 초막절에도 번제를 드렸다.
  4. 또 솔로몬은 제사장들에게 업무를 맡기는 일에 있어서도 그의 아버지 다윗이 만들어 놓은 규정을 따랐으며 레위인들에게는 매일 찬송하고 제사장들을 돕는 일과 그리고 순번에 따라 성전 문을 지키는 일을 맡겼다.
  5. 이와 같이 솔로몬은 제사장과 레위인들에게 업무를 맡기는 일이나 국고에 관한 일이나 무슨 일에든지 다윗이 지시한 것에서 조금도 벗어나지 않았다.
  1. All Solomon's work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the LORD was laid until its completion. So the temple of the LORD was finished.
  2. Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the coast of Edom.
  3. And Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own officers, men who knew the sea. These, with Solomon's men, sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.
  1. 이렇게 해서 솔로몬은 성전 건축을 성공적으로 완성하였다.
  2. 그리고서 그는 에돔 땅의 아카바만 연안에 있는 에시온-게벨과 엘랏으로 갔다.
  3. 그러자 히람왕은 자기 신하들의 지휘하에 배와 노련한 선원들을 그에게 보냈고 그들은 솔로몬의 종들과 함께 오빌에 가서 약 15톤이나 되는 금을 실어와 솔로몬에게 주었다.
 
  솔로몬의 영광과 죽음(9:1-9:31)    
 
  1. When the queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions. Arriving with a very great caravan--with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones--she came to Solomon and talked with him about all she had on her mind.
  2. Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for him to explain to her.
  3. When the queen of Sheba saw the wisdom of Solomon, as well as the palace he had built,
  4. the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, the cupbearers in their robes and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.
  5. She said to the king, "The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.
  1. 스바 여왕이 솔로몬의 명성을 듣고 어려운 문제로 그를 시험하고자 예루살렘으로 왔다. 그녀는 많은 수행원을 거느리고 향료와 금과 보석을 낙타에 잔뜩 싣고 와서 솔로몬을 만나 물어 보고 싶은 것을 다 그에게 말하였다.
  2. 그래서 솔로몬은 스바 여왕의 질문에 모두 대답하였으며 어려워서 설명하지 못하는 문제가 하나도 없었다.
  3. 스바 여왕은 솔로몬의 지혜로운 말을 듣고 또 그가 건축한 궁전과
  4. 그의 식탁에 오르는 음식과 그의 대신들이 앉는 좌석과 수많은 신하들과 술을 따르며 시중드는 사람들과 그들의 의복과 성전에 드리는 제물을 보고 정신이 하나도 없었다.
  5. 그때 스바 여왕이 솔로몬에게 말하였다. '내가 내 나라에서 당신의 업적과 지혜에 대해 들은 소문이 모두 사실이군요.
  1. But I did not believe what they said until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half the greatness of your wisdom was told me; you have far exceeded the report I heard.
  2. How happy your men must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!
  3. Praise be to the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on his throne as king to rule for the LORD your God. Because of the love of your God for Israel and his desire to uphold them forever, he has made you king over them, to maintain justice and righteousness."
  4. Then she gave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. There had never been such spices as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
  5. (The men of Hiram and the men of Solomon brought gold from Ophir; they also brought algumwood and precious stones.
  1. 나는 그런 소문을 믿지 않았는데 이제 내가 직접 와서 보니 사실에 비해 내가 들은 것은 절반도 못 되며 당신의 지혜는 소문보다 엄청납니다.
  2. 당신 앞에서 항상 당신의 지혜로운 말을 듣는 당신의 가족과 신하들은 얼마나 행복하겠습니까!
  3. 당신의 하나님 여호와를 찬양합니다. 하나님이 당신을 기쁘게 여기셔서 자기를 위해 당신을 왕이 되게 하셨습니다. 여호와께서는 이스라엘을 사랑하셔서 막강한 나라가 되게 하시려고 당신을 왕으로 세워 바르고 선한 정치를 하게 하셨습니다.'
  4. 그리고서 스바 여왕은 자기가 가져 온 약 4톤의 금과 아주 많은 향료와 보석을 왕에게 주었다. 그 중에서도 스바 여왕이 솔로몬왕에게 준 향료는 전에 한번도 보지 못한 것이었다.
  5. (히람왕의 신하들과 솔로몬왕의 신하들은 오빌에서 금을 실어 올 때 많은 백단목과 보석도 함께 실어 왔다.
  1. The king used the algumwood to make steps for the temple of the LORD and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. Nothing like them had ever been seen in Judah.)
  2. King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for; he gave her more than she had brought to him. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country.
  3. The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents,
  4. not including the revenues brought in by merchants and traders. Also all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land brought gold and silver to Solomon.
  5. King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred bekas of hammered gold went into each shield.
  1. 솔로몬왕은 그 백단목으로 성전과 궁전의 층계를 만들고 또 성가대를 위해 수금과 비파를 만들었는데 이런 악기들은 유다 땅에서 전에는 볼 수 없던 것들이었다.)
  2. 솔로몬왕은 스바 여왕에게 그녀가 가져온 선물 못지 않게 푸짐한 선물을 주고 또 그녀가 요구하는 것은 무엇이든지 다 주었다. 그러자 스바 여왕과 그 수행원들은 자기 나라로 돌아갔다.
  3. 솔로몬왕이 무역하는 사람들과 상인들에게서 거둬들이는 세금 외에도 매년 그에게 들어오는 금은 약 23톤이나 되었다. 그 밖에 아라비아 왕들과 이스라엘의 여러 지방 장관들도 금과 은을 솔로몬에게 가져왔다.

  5. 솔로몬왕은 금으로 약 3.5킬로그램의 큰 방패 200개와 약 1.7킬로그램의 작은 방패 300개를 만들어 레바논의 숲이라고 부르는 궁에 두었다.
  1. He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three hundred bekas of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.
  2. Then the king made a great throne inlaid with ivory and overlaid with pure gold.
  3. The throne had six steps, and a footstool of gold was attached to it. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them.
  4. Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.
  5. All King Solomon's goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon's day.

  2. 그는 또 상아로 큰 왕좌를 만들어 그것을 순금으로 입혔다.
  3. 그 왕좌에는 여섯 개의 계단이 있고 또 그 왕좌에 부착된 금발판 하나가 있었다. 그리고 앉는 자리 양쪽에는 팔걸이가 있으며 바로 그 곁에는 사자가 한 마리씩 서 있고
  4. 또 그 여섯 계단 양쪽 끝에는 열 두 마리의 사자가 각각 한 마리씩 서 있었는데 이런 웅장한 왕좌는 세상의 그 어느 나라에서도 찾아볼 수 없는 것이었다.
  5. 그리고 솔로몬왕의 술잔은 모두 금으로 만들어졌으며 레바논 숲의 궁에서 사용하는 모든 그릇도 다 금으로 되어 있었다. 그러나 그 당시에 은은 별로 소중하게 여기지 않았으므로 은제품은 만들지 않았다.
  1. The king had a fleet of trading ships manned by Hiram's men. Once every three years it returned, carrying gold, silver and ivory, and apes and baboons.
  2. King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.
  3. All the kings of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.
  4. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift--articles of silver and gold, and robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.
  5. Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.
  1. 솔로몬왕은 히람왕이 지원하는 선원들을 이용하여 3년마다 한 번씩 배를 다시스로 보내 금, 은, 상아, 원숭이, 그리고 공작을 실어 왔다.
  2. 솔로몬왕은 세상의 그 어느 왕보다도 부유하고 지혜로왔으므로
  3. 세상의 모든 사람들이 솔로몬을 찾아와서 하나님이 그에게 주신 지혜에 대하여 듣고 싶어하였다.
  4. 그래서 사람들은 해마다 선물을 가지고 찾아왔다. 그 선물들은 금은 제품, 의복, 무기, 향료, 말, 노새와 같은 것들이었다.
  5. 또 솔로몬에게는 말과 전차를 수용할 외양간 4,000채와 마병 12,000명이 있었다. 그 중 일부는 예루살렘의 왕궁에 배치하고 나머지는 여러 전차성에 배치하였다.
  1. He ruled over all the kings from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt.
  2. The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.
  3. Solomon's horses were imported from Egypt and from all other countries.
  4. As for the other events of Solomon's reign, from beginning to end, are they not written in the records of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam son of Nebat?
  5. Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.
  1. 솔로몬은 유프라테스강에서부터 블레셋 땅과 이집트 국경 지대에 이르는 땅을 통치했는데
  2. 그 당시에는 예루살렘에 은이 돌처럼 흔했고 백향목은 저지대의 일반 뽕나무처럼 많았다.
  3. 그리고 말들은 이집트와 그 밖의 다른 나라에서 수입해 왔다.
  4. 이 밖에 솔로몬에 대한 이야기는 예언자 나단의 역사와 실로 사람 아히야의 예언과 그리고 느밧의 아들 여로보암왕의 통치를 다룬 잇도의 환상책에 잘 나타나 있다.
  5. 솔로몬은 예루살렘에서 40년 동안 이스라엘을 통치하다가
  1. Then he rested with his fathers and was buried in the city of David his father. And Rehoboam his son succeeded him as king.
  1. 죽어 다윗성에 장사되었고 그의 아들 르호보암이 왕위를 계승하였다.
