역대하 31:1-32:33

 히스기야는 전국에 있는 우상을 없애고, 성전 일을 맡은 제사장과 레위인의 직책을 회복시킨 후 보수 규정을 마련하여 그 직책을 안정시켰다. 그리고 십일조와 예물의 효과적 관리 분배로 불필요한 낭비를 방지하였다. 또한 히스기야는 앗수르 왕 산헤립이 유다를 침략했지만 하나님의 도우심으로 그들을 물리쳤다.
  
  히스기야의 종교 개혁(31:1-31:21)    
 
  1. When all this had ended, the Israelites who were there went out to the towns of Judah, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. They destroyed the high places and the altars throughout Judah and Benjamin and in Ephraim and Manasseh. After they had destroyed all of them, the Israelites returned to their own towns and to their own property.
  2. Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions--each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites--to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the LORD's dwelling.
  3. The king contributed from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, New Moons and appointed feasts as written in the Law of the LORD.
  4. He ordered the people living in Jerusalem to give the portion due the priests and Levites so they could devote themselves to the Law of the LORD.
  5. As soon as the order went out, the Israelites generously gave the firstfruits of their grain, new wine, oil and honey and all that the fields produced. They brought a great amount, a tithe of everything.
  1. 유월절 축제가 끝나자 예루살렘에 모였던 모든 사람들은 유다 여러 성으로 가서 돌기둥의 우상들을 깨뜨리고 아세라 여신상을 찍어 버렸다. 그들은 또 유다와 베냐민과 에브라임과 므낫세 전 지역에 있는 산당과 제단을 헐었다. 그런 다음에 유월절을 지키려고 북쪽에서 온 이스라엘 사람들은 모두 고향으로 돌아갔다.
  2. 히스기야는 제사장들과 레위 사람들의 근무 편성표를 반별로 짜서 각 반마다 번제와 화목제를 드리며 성전에서 여호와를 섬기고 그에게 감사와 찬양을 드리도록 하였다.
  3. 또 그는 자기 짐승 중에서 일부를 바쳐 여호와의 율법에 기록된 대로 아침저녁으로 매일 드리는 번제의 그리고 안식일과 초하루와 그 밖에 연례적으로 지키는 명절에 드릴 번제물로 쓰게 하였다.
  4. 이 외에도 그는 예루살렘 주민들에게 제사장과 레위인들에게 돌아갈 몫을 가져오게 하여 그들이 다른 직업을 갖지 않고 여호와의 율법에서 요구하는 그들의 직무에만 충실할 수 있게 하라고 지시하였다.
  5. 그래서 예루살렘 주민들은 왕의 명령에 즉시 응하여 곡식, 포도주, 감람기름, 꿀, 그리고 밭에서 추수한 모든 농산물의 처음 것을 아낌없이 가져왔으며 또 모든 것의 십일조도 가져왔다.
  1. The men of Israel and Judah who lived in the towns of Judah also brought a tithe of their herds and flocks and a tithe of the holy things dedicated to the LORD their God, and they piled them in heaps.
  2. They began doing this in the third month and finished in the seventh month.
  3. When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw the heaps, they praised the LORD and blessed his people Israel.
  4. Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about the heaps;
  5. and Azariah the chief priest, from the family of Zadok, answered, "Since the people began to bring their contributions to the temple of the LORD, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare, because the LORD has blessed his people, and this great amount is left over."
  1. 그리고 북쪽 지파에서 유다 땅으로 이주해 온 사람들과 유다 여러 성에 사는 다른 백성들도 소와 양의 십일조를 가져오고 또 그들 조상의 하나님 여호와께 드릴 예물의 십일조도 가져왔다.
  2. 이렇게 가져오는 예물과 십일조는 3월부터 시작하여 7월까지 계속 쌓였다.
  3. 히스기야왕과 그 신하들이 와서 산더미처럼 쌓인 것을 보고 여호와를 찬양하며 그 백성 이스라엘을 축복하였다.
  4. 히스기야왕이 제사장들과 레위 사람들에게 '이 많은 것이 어디서 나왔소?' 하고 묻자
  5. 사독의 자손인 대제사장 아사랴가 대답하였다. '백성들이 예물을 성전으로 가져오기 시작한 때부터 먹을 것이 많아 우리가 풍족하게 먹고도 남은 것이 이렇게 많이 쌓였습니다. 우리가 이 모든 것을 받게 된 것은 여호와께서 이 백성을 축복해 주셨기 때문입니다.'
  1. Hezekiah gave orders to prepare storerooms in the temple of the LORD, and this was done.
  2. Then they faithfully brought in the contributions, tithes and dedicated gifts. Conaniah, a Levite, was in charge of these things, and his brother Shimei was next in rank.
  3. Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismakiah, Mahath and Benaiah were supervisors under Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by appointment of King Hezekiah and Azariah the official in charge of the temple of God.
  4. Kore son of Imnah the Levite, keeper of the East Gate, was in charge of the freewill offerings given to God, distributing the contributions made to the LORD and also the consecrated gifts.
  5. Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah and Shecaniah assisted him faithfully in the towns of the priests, distributing to their fellow priests according to their divisions, old and young alike.
  1. 히스기야왕의 명령에 따라서 그들은 성전 안에 저장실을 마련하고

  1. In addition, they distributed to the males three years old or more whose names were in the genealogical records--all who would enter the temple of the LORD to perform the daily duties of their various tasks, according to their responsibilities and their divisions.
  2. And they distributed to the priests enrolled by their families in the genealogical records and likewise to the Levites twenty years old or more, according to their responsibilities and their divisions.
  3. They included all the little ones, the wives, and the sons and daughters of the whole community listed in these genealogical records. For they were faithful in consecrating themselves.
  4. As for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who lived on the farm lands around their towns or in any other towns, men were designated by name to distribute portions to every male among them and to all who were recorded in the genealogies of the Levites.
  5. This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah, doing what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God.
  1. 그러나 성전에서 직무를 수행하는 제사장들과 그 가족들은 모든 것을 거기서 직접 제공받았기 때문에 이 분배에서는 제외되었다.

  5. 이와 같이 히스기야왕은 그 예물을 유다 전역에 분배하였으며 그의 하나님 여호와께서 보시기에 옳고 선한 일을 하였다.
  1. In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.
  1. 그는 성전 일이나 율법과 계명을 지키는 일에 있어서 자기 하나님을 찾고 온갖 정성을 쏟았기 때문에 모든 일에 성공하였다.
 
  산헤립의 침략(32:1-32:33)    
 
  1. After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, thinking to conquer them for himself.
  2. When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and that he intended to make war on Jerusalem,
  3. he consulted with his officials and military staff about blocking off the water from the springs outside the city, and they helped him.
  4. A large force of men assembled, and they blocked all the springs and the stream that flowed through the land. "Why should the kings of Assyria come and find plenty of water?" they said.
  5. Then he worked hard repairing all the broken sections of the wall and building towers on it. He built another wall outside that one and reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David. He also made large numbers of weapons and shields.
  1. 히스기야왕의 이 모든 충성스러운 일이 있은 후에 앗시리아의 산헤립왕이 유다를 침략하여 요새화된 성들을 포위하고 쳐서 그 성들을 점령하려고 하였다.
  2. 히스기야는 산헤립이 예루살렘을 치러 온 것을 보고
  3. 신하들과 군 지휘관들을 소집하여 상의한 후에 성 밖에 있는 샘물을 막아 버리기로 결정하였다.
  4. 그래서 그들은 많은 노동력을 동원하여 그 지역으로 흘러가는 모든 물의 샘과 시내를 막고 '무엇 때문에 앗시리아 왕이 와서 물을 얻게 하겠는가?' 하고 외쳤다.
  5. 그런 다음 히스기야는 무너진 성벽을 다시 쌓고 그 위에 망대를 세우며 바깥 성을 쌓아 방비를 강화하고 또 다윗성에 밀로 요새를 더 견고하게 하며 많은 방패와 무기를 만들었다.
  1. He appointed military officers over the people and assembled them before him in the square at the city gate and encouraged them with these words:
  2. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.
  3. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.
  4. Later, when Sennacherib king of Assyria and all his forces were laying siege to Lachish, he sent his officers to Jerusalem with this message for Hezekiah king of Judah and for all the people of Judah who were there:
  5. "This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: On what are you basing your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
  1. 그리고 그는 성 안의 모든 사람들을 군 지휘관들의 명령에 따르게 하고 그들을 성문 광장에 모아 이렇게 말하였다.
  2. '여러분은 마음을 굳게 먹고 용기를 가지고 앗시리아 왕이나 그의 군대를 조금도 두려워하지 마십시오. 그보다 훨씬 더 강한 힘을 가지신 분이 우리와 함께 하십니다.
  3. 그에게는 많은 군대가 있지만 다 사람에 불과합니다. 그러나 우리에게는 우리 하나님 여호와가 계십니다. 그분이 반드시 우리를 돕고 우리를 대신하여 싸우실 것입니다.' 그제야 백성들은 히스기야왕의 말을 듣고 안심이 되었다.
  4. 얼마 후에 라기스를 포위하고 있던 앗시리아의 산헤립왕은 신하들을 통해서 히스기야왕과 예루살렘 주민들에게 이런 전갈을 보내왔다.
  5. '나 앗시리아 왕 산헤립은 묻는다. 너희가 예루살렘이 포위되어 있으면서 살아 남을 수 있다고 생각하느냐?
  1. When Hezekiah says, 'The LORD our God will save us from the hand of the king of Assyria,' he is misleading you, to let you die of hunger and thirst.
  2. Did not Hezekiah himself remove this god's high places and altars, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You must worship before one altar and burn sacrifices on it'?
  3. "Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand?
  4. Who of all the gods of these nations that my fathers destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god deliver you from my hand?
  5. Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you and mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your god deliver you from my hand!"
  1. 히스기야가 너희를 설득하여 너희 하나님 여호와가 너희를 우리 손에서 구원해 줄 것이라고 말하지만 히스기야는 굶주림과 갈증으로 너희를 죽게 하려고 너희를 속이고 있다.
  2. 히스기야는 산당과 제단을 다 헐고 유다와 예루살렘 백성들에게 오직 한 단에서만 경배하고 분향하라고 하였다.
  3. 그러나 너희는 나와 내 조상들이 여러 다른 나라에 행한 일을 알지 못하느냐? 그 어느 나라의 신들이 내 손에서 그 백성을 구원해 낼 수 있었느냐?
  4. 그 모든 나라의 신들이 언제 내 손에서 그 백성을 구해 내었기에 너희 하나님이 내 손에서 너희를 구해 낼 수 있다고 생각하느냐?
  5. 너희는 히스기야에게 속지 말고 그를 믿지 말아라. 그 어떤 나라의 신도 그 백성을 앗시리아 왕의 손에서 구해 내지 못했는데 어떻게 너희 하나님이 너희를 내 손에서 구해 내겠느냐?'
  1. Sennacherib's officers spoke further against the LORD God and against his servant Hezekiah.
  2. The king also wrote letters insulting the LORD, the God of Israel, and saying this against him: "Just as the gods of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand."
  3. Then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city.
  4. They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world--the work of men's hands.
  5. King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this.
  1. 산헤립의 신하들까지도 여호와 하나님과 그의 종 히스기야를 조롱하고 모욕하였다.
  2. 또 산헤립은 이스라엘의 하나님 여호와를 모욕하는 편지를 써서 보내며 '다른 모든 나라의 신들이 그 백성을 내 손에서 구해 내지 못한 것 같이 히스기야의 신도 자기 백성을 내 손에서 구해 내지 못할 것이다.' 하였다.
  3. 이뿐 아니라 그 편지를 가지고 온 신하들도 유다 말로 크게 소리를 질러 성벽 위에 모여 있던 사람들을 놀라게 하고 기를 꺾어 쉽게 그 성을 정복하려고 했는데
  4. 이들이 예루살렘의 하나님께 말하는 태도는 마치 손으로 만든 이방신들에게 말하는 것과 같았다.
  5. 그때 히스기야왕이 아모스의 아들인 예언자 이사야와 함께 하늘을 향하여 부르짖고 기도하자
  1. And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons cut him down with the sword.
  2. So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others. He took care of them on every side.
  3. Many brought offerings to Jerusalem for the LORD and valuable gifts for Hezekiah king of Judah. From then on he was highly regarded by all the nations.
  4. In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. He prayed to the LORD, who answered him and gave him a miraculous sign.
  5. But Hezekiah's heart was proud and he did not respond to the kindness shown him; therefore the LORD's wrath was on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
  1. 여호와께서는 앗시리아군의 진영에 한 천사를 보내 장군들을 포함하여 장교와 사병을 모조리 죽였다. 그래서 산헤립은 창피하여 얼굴을 들지 못하고 자기 나라로 돌아갔다. 그가 자기 신의 신전으로 들어갔을 때 자기 아들들이 거기서 칼로 그를 쳐죽였다.
  2. 이와 같이 여호와께서는 히스기야와 예루살렘 주민을 앗시리아의 산헤립왕과 다른 모든 대적들에게서 구출하시고 그들을 사방으로 보호하셨다.
  3. 그러자 많은 사람들이 예루살렘에 와서 여호와께 예물을 드리고 또 히스기야왕에게 값진 선물을 주었다. 그때부터 모든 나라가 히스기야왕을 우러러보게 되었다.
  4. 이때 히스기야왕이 병들어 죽게 되었다. 그래서 그가 여호와께 기도하자 여호와께서는 그 기도에 응답하시고 그에게 병이 나으리라는 표적을 주셨다.
  5. 그런데도 히스기야는 마음이 교만하여 자기가 받은 은혜를 고맙게 여기지 않았다. 그래서 그와 유다와 예루살렘은 여호와의 노여움을 샀다
  1. Then Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the LORD's wrath did not come upon them during the days of Hezekiah.
  2. Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made treasuries for his silver and gold and for his precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuables.
  3. He also made buildings to store the harvest of grain, new wine and oil; and he made stalls for various kinds of cattle, and pens for the flocks.
  4. He built villages and acquired great numbers of flocks and herds, for God had given him very great riches.
  5. It was Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Gihon spring and channeled the water down to the west side of the City of David. He succeeded in everything he undertook.
  1. 그러나 히스기야와 예루살렘 주민들이 자기들의 교만을 뉘우쳤으므로 여호와께서는 히스기야의 생전에 그 백성을 벌하지 않으셨다.
  2. 히스기야는 부귀와 영화를 한 몸에 지니게 되었다. 그래서 그는 금은 보석과 향품과 방패와 그 밖의 모든 소중한 물건들을 넣어 둘 보물 창고를 짓고
  3. 또 곡식과 새 포도주와 감람기름을 넣어 둘 창고와 짐승의 외양간을 지었으며 양떼와 소떼를 가둬 넣을 우리를 만들었다. 이 밖에 하나님이 그에게 많은 재산을 주셨으므로 그는 수많은 소떼와 양떼를 소유하였고 또 성들도 많이 세웠다
  4. (28절과 같음)
  5. 그리고 히스기야는 기혼 윗샘의 물을 막아 수로를 통해 그 물을 예루살렘의 다윗성 서쪽으로 끌어들였다. 이와 같이 히스기야는 하는 일마다 성공하였다.
  1. But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.
  2. The other events of Hezekiah's reign and his acts of devotion are written in the vision of the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
  3. Hezekiah rested with his fathers and was buried on the hill where the tombs of David's descendants are. All Judah and the people of Jerusalem honored him when he died. And Manasseh his son succeeded him as king.
  1. 그러나 바빌로니아 사절단이 와서 그 땅에 일어난 기적에 관해서 그에게 물을 때에 하나님은 히스기야를 시험하여 그의 진심을 알고자 그를 떠나신 적도 있었다.
  2. 이 밖에 히스기야왕이 행한 모든 일과 그의 업적은 아모스의 아들인 예언자 이사야의 환상을 기록한 책과 유다와 이스라엘 왕들의 역사책에 잘 기록되어 있다.
  3. 히스기야가 죽자 유다와 예루살렘 백성들은 그를 왕들의 묘 중에서도 높은 곳에 장사하여 그의 죽음이 깊은 애도의 뜻을 표하였다. 그리고 그의 아들 므낫세가 왕위를 계승하였다.
