에스겔 18:1-20:9

 이스라엘이 화를 당하는 이유가 조상들에게 있다고 원망하는 백성들에게 하나님께서는 사람이 오직 자신의 행위에 따라 심판받게 된다고 말씀하셨으며, 방백들을 위한 애가를 통해 유다의 멸망을 예언하셨다. 또한 야웨께 묻기 위해 선지자에게 온 이스라엘 장로들을 책망하시며, 과거에 이스라엘이 애굽에서 하나님의 은혜에도 불구하고 우상을 숭배했었다고 말씀하셨다.
  
  심판의 개별성(18:1-18:32)    
 
  1. The word of the LORD came to me:
  2. "What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: " 'The fathers eat sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge'?
  3. "As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel.
  4. For every living soul belongs to me, the father as well as the son--both alike belong to me. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
  5. "Suppose there is a righteous man who does what is just and right.
  1. 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
  2. '어째서 사람들이 이스라엘 땅에 대하여 '아버지가 신 포도를 먹었는데 아들의 이가 시다'는 속담을 쓰고 있는가?
  3. 살아 있는 나 여호와가 분명히 말하지만 너희가 이스라엘에서 다시는 이 속담을 쓰지 못할 것이다.
  4. 모든 생명은 다 나에게 속하였다. 아버지의 생명이 나에게 속한 것같이 아들의 생명도 나에게 속하였으니 범죄하는 사람만 죽을 것이다.
  5. 만일 어떤 사람이 의로와서 공정하고 옳은 일을 행하며
  1. He does not eat at the mountain shrines or look to the idols of the house of Israel. He does not defile his neighbor's wife or lie with a woman during her period.
  2. He does not oppress anyone, but returns what he took in pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked.
  3. He does not lend at usury or take excessive interest. He withholds his hand from doing wrong and judges fairly between man and man.
  4. He follows my decrees and faithfully keeps my laws. That man is righteous; he will surely live, declares the Sovereign LORD.
  5. "Suppose he has a violent son, who sheds blood or does any of these other things
  1. 산 위의 우상 신전에서 제물을 먹지 않고 이스라엘 우상에게 눈길을 돌리지 않으며 이웃의 아내를 더럽히거나 월경 중에 있는 여인을 가까이하지 않으며
  2. 사람을 학대하지 않고 빚진 자에게서 잡은 전당물을 다시 돌려 주며 남의 것을 강제로 빼앗지 않고 굶주린 자에게 먹을 것을 주며 벗은 자에게 옷을 입힌다면,
  3. 또 그가 이자를 받지 않고 돈을 꾸어 주며 악한 일을 거절하고 사람과 사람 사이를 공정하게 판단하며
  4. 내 명령에 순종하고 네 법을 조심스럽게 지킨다면 그 사람이야말로 의로운 사람이다. 그는 분명히 살 것이다. 이것은 나 여호와의 말이다.
  5. 그가 난폭한 아들을 낳았다고 한번 가정해 보자. 그 아들이 이 모든 선은 하나도 행하지 않고 사람을 죽이며
  1. (though the father has done none of them): "He eats at the mountain shrines. He defiles his neighbor's wife.
  2. He oppresses the poor and needy. He commits robbery. He does not return what he took in pledge. He looks to the idols. He does detestable things.
  3. He lends at usury and takes excessive interest. Will such a man live? He will not! Because he has done all these detestable things, he will surely be put to death and his blood will be on his own head.
  4. "But suppose this son has a son who sees all the sins his father commits, and though he sees them, he does not do such things:
  5. "He does not eat at the mountain shrines or look to the idols of the house of Israel. He does not defile his neighbor's wife.
  1. 산위에 우상 신전에서 제물을 먹고 이웃의 아내를 더럽히며
  2. 가난하고 불쌍한 사람을 학대하고 남의 것을 강제로 빼앗고 전당잡은 물건을 돌려 주지 않으며 우상에게 눈을 돌리고 더러운 일을 행하며
  3. 돈을 빌려 주고 높은 이자를 받는다면 그가 과연 살겠느냐? 결코 살지 못할 것이다. 그가 이 모든 더러운 일을 행하였으므로 반드시 죽을 것이며 그의 죽음에 대한 책임은 그에게 돌아갈 것이다.
  4. 그러나 만일 이 아들이 또 아들을 낳았다고 가정해 보자. 그 아들이 자기 아버지가 범한 모든 죄를 보았으나 그런 죄를 범하지 않고
  5. 산 위의 우상 신전에서 제물을 먹지 않으며 이스라엘의 우상에게 눈을 돌리지도 않고 그 이웃의 아내를 더럽히지도 않으며
  1. He does not oppress anyone or require a pledge for a loan. He does not commit robbery but gives his food to the hungry and provides clothing for the naked.
  2. He withholds his hand from sin and takes no usury or excessive interest. He keeps my laws and follows my decrees. He will not die for his father's sin; he will surely live.
  3. But his father will die for his own sin, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was wrong among his people.
  4. "Yet you ask, 'Why does the son not share the guilt of his father?' Since the son has done what is just and right and has been careful to keep all my decrees, he will surely live.
  5. The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.
  1. 사람을 학대하거나 돈을 빌려 주고 전당물을 잡지 않으며 남의 것을 강제로 빼앗지 않고 굶주린 자에게 먹을 것을 주며 벗은 자에게 옷을 입히고
  2. 가난한 자를 도와 주며 돈을 빌려 주고도 이자를 받지 않고 내 법을 지키며 내 명령에 순종한다면 그는 자기 아버지의 죄로 죽지 않고 분명히 살 것이다.
  3. 그러나 그의 아버지는 난폭하여 자기 동족을 강탈하고 자기 백성에게 악을 행하였으므로 자기가 범한 그 죄로 죽고 말 것이다.
  4. 그런데 너희는 아버지가 죄를 지었는데도 어째서 그 아들이 벌을 받지 않느냐고 묻고 있다. 그 아들은 공정하고 옳은 일을 행하며 나의 모든 법을 준수하였으므로 그는 분명히 살 것이다.
  5. 죽어야 할 사람은 바로 범죄하는 그 사람이다. 아들이 아버지의 죄 때문에 형벌을 받지 않을 것이며 아버지가 아들의 죄 때문에 형벌을 받지도 않을 것이다. 이와 같이 의로운 자의 의에 대한 보상도 자기에게 돌아가고 악인의 악에 대한 형벌도 자기에게 돌아갈 것이다.
  1. "But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.
  2. None of the offenses he has committed will be remembered against him. Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live.
  3. Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?
  4. "But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live? None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die.
  5. "Yet you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Hear, O house of Israel: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
  1. 그러나 만일 악인이 그가 범한 모든 죄에서 돌이키고 내 법을 지키며 의로운 일을 행하면 그가 살고 분명히 죽지 않을 것이다.
  2. 그가 범한 죄는 하나도 기억되지 않을 것이며 그가 행한 의로운 일로 그는 살게 될 것이다.
  3. 내가 어찌 악인이 죽는 것을 기뻐하겠느냐? 그가 죄악의 길에서 떠나 살면 내가 기뻐하지 않겠느냐?
  4. 그러나 만일 의로운 자가 그의 의로운 길에서 떠나 범죄하고 악인이 행하는 모든 더러운 일을 행하면 살겠느냐? 그가 행한 의로운 일은 하나도 기억되지 않을 것이며 그의 신실하지 못함과 그가 범한 죄 때문에 그는 죽게 될 것이다.
  5. 그러나 너희는 내가 행하는 일이 옳지 못하다고 말하고 있다. 이스라엘 백성아, 들어라. 내가 하는 일이 옳지 못하냐? 오히려 너희가 하는 일이 옳지 못한 것이 아니냐?
  1. If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sin, he will die for it; because of the sin he has committed he will die.
  2. But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will save his life.
  3. Because he considers all the offenses he has committed and turns away from them, he will surely live; he will not die.
  4. Yet the house of Israel says, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' Are my ways unjust, O house of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?
  5. "Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
  1. 만일 의로운 자가 그 의를 떠나 죄를 범하고 죽으면 그는 자기가 범한 죄 때문에 죽는 것이며
  2. 만일 악한 자가 그 악에서 떠나 법을 지키고 옳은 일을 행하면 그는 자기 생명을 구원하게 될 것이다.
  3. 그는 자기가 행한 일을 깨닫고 그 죄에서 돌이켰으므로 분명히 살고 죽지 않을 것이다.
  4. 그런데 너희 이스라엘 백성들은 '여호와가 공정하지 못하다.' 하고 말한다. 이스라엘 백성들아, 어째서 내가 공정하지 않느냐? 오히려 너희가 공정하지 못한 것이 아니냐?
  5. 나 주 여호와가 말한다. 이스라엘 백성들아, 너희가 행한 대로 내가 너희 각 사람을 심판하겠다. 너희는 회개하고 돌이켜 너희 모든 죄에서 떠나라. 그러면 너희가 죄 때문에 멸망하지 않을 것이다.
  1. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, O house of Israel?
  2. For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!
  1. 너희는 지금까지 범한 모든 죄를 버리고 마음과 심령을 새롭게 하라. 이스라엘 백성들아, 너희가 어째서 죽으려고 하느냐?
  2. 나 여호와가 말한다. 나는 그 누구도 죽는 것을 원하지 않는다. 그러므로 너희는 회개하고 살아라.'
 
  방백들을 위한 애가(19:1-19:14)    
 
  1. "Take up a lament concerning the princes of Israel
  2. and say: " 'What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay down among the young lions and reared her cubs.
  3. She brought up one of her cubs, and he became a strong lion. He learned to tear the prey and he devoured men.
  4. The nations heard about him, and he was trapped in their pit. They led him with hooks to the land of Egypt.
  5. " 'When she saw her hope unfulfilled, her expectation gone, she took another of her cubs and made him a strong lion.
  1. '너는 이스라엘 지도자들을 위해 이런 애가를 지어 불러라.
  2. 네 어머니는 누구냐? 사자 중에서도 훌륭한 암사자가 아닌가! 그가 젊은 사자들 가운데 누워 새끼를 기르더니
  3. 새끼 한 마리를 키우자 그것이 젊은 사자가 되어서 먹이를 움켜잡는 법을 배워 사람을 삼켜 버렸네.
  4. 이방 나라들이 그것을 듣고 함정으로 그를 잡아 갈고리로 꿰어서 이집트로 끌고 갔다.
  5. 암사자가 기다리다가 희망이 없는 것을 알고 또 다른 새끼 한 마리를 키워서 젊은 사자가 되게 하자
  1. He prowled among the lions, for he was now a strong lion. He learned to tear the prey and he devoured men.
  2. He broke down their strongholds and devastated their towns. The land and all who were in it were terrified by his roaring.
  3. Then the nations came against him, those from regions round about. They spread their net for him, and he was trapped in their pit.
  4. With hooks they pulled him into a cage and brought him to the king of Babylon. They put him in prison, so his roar was heard no longer on the mountains of Israel.
  5. " 'Your mother was like a vine in your vineyard planted by the water; it was fruitful and full of branches because of abundant water.
  1. 그것이 성장하여 다른 사자들과 함께 다니면서 먹이를 움켜잡는 법을 배워 사람을 삼키며
  2. 그들의 요새를 헐고 그 성들을 파괴하니 그 우는 소리에 그 땅 주민들의 간담이 서늘해졌네.
  3. 그때 주변의 이방 나라들이 와서 그물을 치고 함정으로 그를 잡아
  4. 갈고리에 꿰어서 철망 속에 넣고 바빌로니아 왕에게 끌고 가 감옥에 넣었으니 다시는 그 울음 소리가 이스라엘 산에 들리지 않았네.
  5. 너의 어머니는 물가에 심은 포도나무 같아서 물이 충분하여 과실이 많고 잎이 무성하며
  1. Its branches were strong, fit for a ruler's scepter. It towered high above the thick foliage, conspicuous for its height and for its many branches.
  2. But it was uprooted in fury and thrown to the ground. The east wind made it shrivel, it was stripped of its fruit; its strong branches withered and fire consumed them.
  3. Now it is planted in the desert, in a dry and thirsty land.
  4. Fire spread from one of its main branches and consumed its fruit. No strong branch is left on it fit for a ruler's scepter.' This is a lament and is to be used as a lament."
  1. 그 가지들은 통치자의 지휘봉이 될 정도로 튼튼하게 자랐으며 그것이 다른 나무들보다 높이 솟아올라 멀리서도 다 볼 수 있더니
  2. 분노의 손에 뽑혀 땅에 던져지자 동풍이 그 과실을 말렸고 튼튼한 가지들은 꺾이고 말라서 불타고 말았네.
  3. 이제 그것이 가물고 메마른 광야에 심겼으며
  4. 불이 그 가지에 붙어 잎과 과일을 태웠으니 통치자의 지휘봉이 될 만한 튼튼한 가지는 하나도 남지 않았구나.' '이것은 애가이므로 앞으로도 계속 애가로 불려질 것이다.'
 
  유다의 패역상(20:1-20:9)    
 
  1. In the seventh year, in the fifth month on the tenth day, some of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the LORD, and they sat down in front of me.
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to me:
  3. "Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Have you come to inquire of me? As surely as I live, I will not let you inquire of me, declares the Sovereign LORD.'
  4. "Will you judge them? Will you judge them, son of man? Then confront them with the detestable practices of their fathers
  5. and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I chose Israel, I swore with uplifted hand to the descendants of the house of Jacob and revealed myself to them in Egypt. With uplifted hand I said to them, "I am the LORD your God."
  1. 우리가 포로로 잡혀온 지 7년째가 되는 해 5월 10일에 이스라엘 장로 몇 사람이 여호와께 물어 볼 말이 있어 내 앞에 와서 앉았다.
  2. 그때 여호와께서 말씀하셨다.
  3. '사람의 아들아, 너는 이스라엘 장로들에게 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. '너희가 나에게 물으려고 왔느냐? 살아 있는 나 주 여호와가 분명히 말하지만 너희가 묻는 것을 내가 용납하지 않겠다.'
  4. 사람의 아들아, 네가 그들을 심문하겠느냐? 그렇다면 너는 그 조상들이 행한 더러운 일을 그들에게 알게 하고
  5. 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. : 내가 이스라엘을 택하고 이집트에서 야곱의 후손들에게 나를 나타낼 때에 내가 그들에게 맹세하며 '나는 여호와 너희 하나님이다.' 하였다.
  1. On that day I swore to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands.
  2. And I said to them, "Each of you, get rid of the vile images you have set your eyes on, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God."
  3. " 'But they rebelled against me and would not listen to me; they did not get rid of the vile images they had set their eyes on, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. So I said I would pour out my wrath on them and spend my anger against them in Egypt.
  4. But for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations they lived among and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites by bringing them out of Egypt.
  1. 그 날 나는 그들에게 이집트에서 그들을 이끌어내어 내가 그들을 위해 마련해 놓은 땅, 곧 기름지고 비옥하며 모든 땅 중에서 가장 아름다운 땅으로 인도하겠다고 약속하였으며
  2. 또 그들에게 '너희는 너희가 사랑하는 그 더러운 우상들을 던져 버리고 이집트의 거짓된 신들로 자신을 더럽히지 말아라. 나는 여호와 너희 하나님이다.' 하고 말하였다.
  3. 그러나 그들은 나를 반역하고 내 말을 듣지 않았으며 그들이 사랑하던 더러운 우상들을 버리지 않고 이집트의 신들을 떠나지도 않았다. 그래서 나는 그들이 아직 이집트에 있을 때에 그들에게 내 분노를 쏟아 분풀이하겠다고 말하였다.
  4. 그러나 나는 이방 사람들이 보는 데서 내 이름을 더럽히지 않으려고 그렇게 하지 않고 그들을 이집트에서 인도해 내어 이집트 사람들이 보는 앞에서 나를 그들에게 나타내었다.
