베드로전서 2:11-3:7

 베드로는 나그네와 행인 같은 성도들은 국가의 위정자와 주인에게 순종하여야 한다고 강조했으며, 아내는 남편에게 순복하고 남편은 아내를 귀히 여기도록 권면하였다.
  
  나그네의 삶(2:11-2:17)    
 
  1. Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.
  2. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
  3. Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority,
  4. or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.
  5. For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.
  1. 사랑하는 여러분, 우리는 이 세상에서 나그네와 행인 같은 사람들입니다. 그러므로 영혼을 대적하여 싸우는 육체의 정욕을 이기십시오.
  2. 여러분은 이방인들 가운데서 선한 생활을 하십시오. 그러면 여러분이 악을 행한다고 비난하는 사람들이 여러분의 선한 행실을 보고 그들이 회개하는 날에 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 될 것입니다.
  3. 여러분은 국가의 모든 제도와 통치자와 관리들에게 복종하십시오. 그렇게 하는 것이 주님을 위하는 것입니다.
  4. 관리들은 악한 일하는 사람들을 처벌하고 선한 일하는 사람들을 표창하라고 통치자가 보낸 사람들입니다.
  5. 여러분은 선한 일을 하여 어리석은 사람들이 무식한 말을 하지 못하게 하십시오. 그렇게 하는 것이 하나님의 뜻입니다.
  1. Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.
  2. Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.
  1. 여러분은 율법에서 해방된 자유인답게 생활하십시오. 그러나 그 자유를 악용하지 말고 오직 하나님을 섬기는 일에 사용하십시오.
  2. 모든 사람을 존경하며 형제 사랑하고 하나님을 두려워하며 왕을 존경하십시오.
 
  그리스도의 고난(2:18-2:25)    
 
  1. Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.
  2. For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.
  3. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God.
  4. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
  5. "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
  1. 종들은 두려움으로 주인에게 복종하십시오. 선하고 너그러운 주인에게만 아니라 까다로운 주인에게도 그렇게 하십시오.
  2. 억울하게 고난을 받더라도 하나님을 생각하고 슬픔을 참으면 이것은 칭찬할 만한 일이지만
  3. 죄가 있어서 벌을 받고 참으면 무슨 자랑거리가 되겠습니까? 그러나 선한 일을 하다가 고난을 받고 참으면 이것은 하나님 앞에서 칭찬을 받을 만한 일입니다.
  4. 이것을 위해 여러분은 부르심을 받았습니다. 그리스도께서도 여러분을 위해 고난을 받으심으로 여러분에게 모범을 보여 그분의 발자취를 따르게 하셨습니다.
  5. 그리스도는 죄를 범하지 않으셨고 그 입에 거짓이 없는 분이십니다.
  1. When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.
  2. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
  3. For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
  1. 그분은 모욕을 당할 때도 욕하지 않고 고난을 당할 때도 위협하지 않았으며 모든 것을 공정하게 심판하시는 하나님께 맡기셨습니다.
  2. 그리스도께서 몸소 우리 죄를 지시고 십자가에 달려 죽으심으로 우리는 죄에 대하여 죽고 의를 위해 살 수 있게 되었습니다. 그분이 매맞고 상처를 입으심으로 여러분이 낫게 된 것입니다.
  3. 여러분이 전에는 양처럼 길을 잃고 방황하였으나 지금은 여러분의 영혼의 목자와 감독자가 되시는 그리스도에게 돌아왔습니다.
 
  아내와 남편의 자세(3:1-3:7)    
 
  1. Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,
  2. when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.
  3. Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.
  4. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
  5. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful. They were submissive to their own husbands,
  1. 아내된 여러분은 남편에게 순종하십시오. 그러면 주님의 말씀을 믿지 않는 남편이라도 말없이 실천하는 여러분의 행동을 보고 하나님을 믿게 될 것입니다.
  2. 남편들은 여러분이 하나님을 섬기면서 깨끗한 생활을 하는 것을 지켜보고 있습니다.
  3. 여러분은 겉모양만 화려하게 꾸미지 말고
  4. 순하고 정숙한 마음 가짐으로 속 사람을 아름답게 하십시오. 그것은 하나님이 보시기에 매우 귀한 일입니다.
  5. 옛날 하나님에게 희망을 두었던 거룩한 여자들도 이와 같이 자기 남편에게 복종함으로 자기를 꾸몄습니다.
  1. like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
  2. Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
  1. 사라는 자기 남편인 아브라함을 '주'라고 부르며 그에게 복종했던 것입니다. 여러분도 사라를 본받아 어떤 일에도 두려워하지 않고 선한 일을 하면 그녀의 딸이 됩니다.
  2. 남편 된 여러분은 아내를 잘 이해하며 함께 살아가십시오. 아내는 더 연약한 그릇이며 은혜로 주시는 영원한 생명을 함께 누릴 반려자로 알고 소중하게 여기십시오. 이것은 여러분의 기도 생활에 방해를 받지 않기 위해서입니다.
