열왕기하 20:1-21:26

 히스기야는 불치병을 기도로 치료받고 생명을 15년 연장받는 기적을 체험하였지만, 바벨론 사절단 앞에서 자신의 부귀 영화를 자랑하는 교만한 행위를 나타냄으로써 이사야 선지자를 통해 유다 왕국의 멸망을 예고받았다. 히스기야의 뒤를 이은 므낫세와 아몬은 거듭된 하나님의 심판의 경고에도 불구하고 우상 숭배와 사악한 통치를 행하여 유다 멸망의 결정적인 원인을 제공하였다.
  
  히스기야의 생명 연장과 실수(20:1-20:21)    
 
  1. In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
  2. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD,
  3. "Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
  4. Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the LORD came to him:
  5. "Go back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the LORD.
  1. 그 무렵에 히스기야가 병이 들어 거의 죽게 되었는데, 아모스의 아들 이사야 예언자가 그에게 와서 말하였다. "주님께서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. '네가 죽게 되었으니 네 집안의 모든 일을 정리하여라. 네가 다시 회복되지 못할 것이다.'"

  5. "너는 되돌아가서 내 백성의 주권자인 히스기야에게 전하여라. '네 조상 다윗을 돌본 나 주 하나님이 말한다. 네가 기도하는 소리를 내가 들었고, 네가 흘리는 눈물도 내가 보았다. 내가 너를 고쳐 주겠다. 사흘 뒤에는 네가 주의 성전으로 올라갈 수 있을 것이다.
  1. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.' "
  2. Then Isaiah said, "Prepare a poultice of figs." They did so and applied it to the boil, and he recovered.
  3. Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, "What will be the sign that the LORD will heal me and that I will go up to the temple of the LORD on the third day from now?"
  4. Isaiah answered, "This is the LORD's sign to you that the LORD will do what he has promised: Shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or shall it go back ten steps?"
  5. "It is a simple matter for the shadow to go forward ten steps," said Hezekiah. "Rather, have it go back ten steps."
  1. 내가 너의 목숨을 열다섯 해 더 연장시키고, 너와 이 도성을 앗시리아 왕의 손에서 구하여서, 이 도성을 보호하겠다. 내 명성을 지키기 위해서라도, 그리고 내 종 다윗을 보아서라도, 내가 이 도성을 보호하겠다.'"

  5. 히스기야가 대답하였다. "해 그림자를 십 도 더 나아가게 하는 것은 쉬운 일인 것 같습니다. 그러므로 그림자가 십 도 뒤로 물러나게 해주십시오."
  1. Then the prophet Isaiah called upon the LORD, and the LORD made the shadow go back the ten steps it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.
  2. At that time Merodach-Baladan son of Baladan king of Babylon sent Hezekiah letters and a gift, because he had heard of Hezekiah's illness.
  3. Hezekiah received the messengers and showed them all that was in his storehouses--the silver, the gold, the spices and the fine oil--his armory and everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his palace or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not show them.
  4. Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah and asked, "What did those men say, and where did they come from?" "From a distant land," Hezekiah replied. "They came from Babylon."
  5. The prophet asked, "What did they see in your palace?" "They saw everything in my palace," Hezekiah said. "There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them."
  1. 이사야 예언자가 주님께 기도를 드린 뒤에, 아하스의 해시계 위로 드리운 그 그림자를 뒤로 십 도 물러나게 하였다.
  2. 그 때에 발라단의 아들 바빌로니아의 므로닥발라단 왕이, 히스기야가 병들었다는 소식을 듣고, 친서와 예물을 히스기야에게 보내 왔다.
  3. 히스기야는 그들을 반가이 맞아들이고, 보물 창고에 있는 은과 금과 향료와 향유와 무기고와 창고 안에 있는 모든 것을 그들에게 다 보여 주었다. 히스기야는 그들에게 궁궐과 나라 안에 있는 것을 하나도 빠짐없이 모두 다 보여 주었다.
  4. 그 때에 이사야 예언자가 히스기야에게 와서 물었다. "이 사람들이 무슨 말을 하였습니까? 이 사람들은 어디에서 온 사람들입니까?" 히스기야가 대답하였다. "그들은 먼 나라 바빌로니아에서 온 사람들입니다."
  5. 이사야가 또 물었다. "그들이 임금님의 궁궐에서 무엇을 보았습니까?" 히스기야가 대답하였다. "그들은 나의 궁궐 안에 있는 모든 것을 보았고, 나의 창고 안에 있는 것도, 그들이 못 본 것은 하나도 없습니다."
  1. Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, "Hear the word of the LORD :
  2. The time will surely come when everything in your palace, and all that your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried off to Babylon. Nothing will be left, says the LORD.
  3. And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood, that will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."
  4. "The word of the LORD you have spoken is good," Hezekiah replied. For he thought, "Will there not be peace and security in my lifetime?"
  5. As for the other events of Hezekiah's reign, all his achievements and how he made the pool and the tunnel by which he brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  1. 이사야가 히스기야에게 말하였다. "주님의 말씀을 들으십시오.
  2. '그 날이 다가오고 있다. 그 날이 오면, 네 왕궁 안에 있는 모든 것과, 오늘까지 네 조상이 저장하여 놓은 모든 보물이, 남김없이 바빌론으로 옮겨 갈 것이다.' 주님께서 또 말씀하십니다.

  4. 히스기야가 이사야에게 말하였다. "예언자께서 전하여 준 주님의 말씀은 지당한 말씀입니다." 히스기야는 자기가 살아 있는 동안만이라도 평화와 안정이 계속된다면, 그것만으로도 다행이라고 생각하였다.
  5. 히스기야의 나머지 행적과, 그가 누린 모든 권력과, 어떻게 그가 저수지를 만들고 수로를 만들어서 도성 안으로 물을 끌어들였는지는 '유다 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  1. Hezekiah rested with his fathers. And Manasseh his son succeeded him as king.

  1. Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-five years. His mother's name was Hephzibah.
  2. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the detestable practices of the nations the LORD had driven out before the Israelites.
  3. He rebuilt the high places his father Hezekiah had destroyed; he also erected altars to Baal and made an Asherah pole, as Ahab king of Israel had done. He bowed down to all the starry hosts and worshiped them.
  4. He built altars in the temple of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, "In Jerusalem I will put my Name."
  5. In both courts of the temple of the LORD, he built altars to all the starry hosts.
  1. 므낫세는 왕이 되었을 때에 열두 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 쉰다섯 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니는 헵시바이다.
  2. 므낫세는 주님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다. 그는, 주님께서 이스라엘 자손이 보는 앞에서 쫓아내신 이방 사람들의 역겨운 풍속을 따랐다.

  1. He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced sorcery and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger.
  2. He took the carved Asherah pole he had made and put it in the temple, of which the LORD had said to David and to his son Solomon, "In this temple and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my Name forever.
  3. I will not again make the feet of the Israelites wander from the land I gave their forefathers, if only they will be careful to do everything I commanded them and will keep the whole Law that my servant Moses gave them."
  4. But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites.
  5. The LORD said through his servants the prophets:
  1. 그래서 그는 자기의 아들들을 불살라 바치는 일도 하고, 점쟁이를 불러 점을 치게도 하고, 마술사를 시켜 마법을 부리게도 하고, 악령과 귀신을 불러내어 물어 보기도 하였다. 이렇게 하여 그는, 주님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 많이 하여, 주님께서 진노하시게 하였다.
  2. 그는 자신이 손수 새겨 만든 아세라 목상을 성전 안에 세웠다. 그러나 이 성전은, 일찍이 주님께서 이 성전을 두고 다윗과 그의 아들 솔로몬에게 말씀하실 때에 "내가 이스라엘의 모든 지파 가운데서 선택한 이 성전과, 이 예루살렘 안에 영원토록 내 이름을 두겠다.
  3. 그리고 그들이, 내가 그들에게 명한 계명과 내 종 모세가 그들에게 명령한 율법을 성실히 지키기만 하면, 이스라엘이 다시는, 내가 그들의 조상에게 준 이 땅을 떠나서 방황하지 않게 하겠다" 하고 말씀하신 그 곳이다.
  4. 그러나 그 백성들은 이 말씀에 복종하지 않았다. 오히려 므낫세는, 주님께서 이스라엘 자손의 면전에서 멸망시키신 그 이방 민족들보다 더 악한 일을 하도록 백성을 인도하였다.
  5. 그래서 주님께서는 주님의 종, 예언자들을 시켜서 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  1. "Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil than the Amorites who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols.
  2. Therefore this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle.
  3. I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
  4. I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance and hand them over to their enemies. They will be looted and plundered by all their foes,
  5. because they have done evil in my eyes and have provoked me to anger from the day their forefathers came out of Egypt until this day."
  1. "유다의 므낫세 왕이 이러한 역겨운 풍속을 따라, 그 옛날 아모리 사람이 한 것보다 더 악한 일을 하고, 우상을 만들어, 유다로 하여금 죄를 짓도록 잘못 인도하였으므로,
  2. 주 이스라엘의 하나님이 말한다. 내가 예루살렘과 유다에 재앙을 보내겠다. 이 재앙의 소식을 듣는 사람은 누구나 가슴이 내려앉을 것이다.
  3. 내가 사마리아를 잰 줄과 아합 궁을 달아 본 추를 사용하여, 예루살렘을 심판하겠다. 사람이 접시를 닦아 엎어 놓는 것처럼, 내가 예루살렘을 말끔히 닦아 내겠다.
  4. 내가 내 소유인, 내 백성 가운데서 살아 남은 사람을 모두 내버리겠고, 그들을 원수의 손에 넘겨 주겠다. 그러면 그들이 원수들의 먹이가 될 것이고, 그 모든 원수에게 겁탈을 당할 것이다.
  5. 그들은 내가 보기에 악한 일을 하였고, 그들이 이집트에서 나온 조상 때로부터 오늘까지, 나를 분노하게 만들었다.
  1. Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end--besides the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the LORD.
  2. As for the other events of Manasseh's reign, and all he did, including the sin he committed, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  3. Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in his palace garden, the garden of Uzza. And Amon his son succeeded him as king.
  4. Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother's name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.
  5. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as his father Manasseh had done.
  1. 더욱이 므낫세는, 유다로 하여금 나 주가 보기에 악한 일을 하도록 잘못 인도하는 죄를 지었으며, 죄 없는 사람을 너무 많이 죽여서, 예루살렘이 이 끝에서부터 저 끝에 이르기까지, 죽은 이들의 피로 흠뻑 젖어 있다."
  2. 므낫세의 나머지 행적과, 그가 저질러 놓은 일과, 그가 지은 모든 죄는 '유다 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  3. 므낫세가 죽어서 그의 조상과 함께 누워 잠드니, 그의 궁궐 안에 있는 웃사의 정원에 장사지냈다. 그리고 그의 아들 아몬이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.

  1. He walked in all the ways of his father; he worshiped the idols his father had worshiped, and bowed down to them.
  2. He forsook the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.
  3. Amon's officials conspired against him and assassinated the king in his palace.
  4. Then the people of the land killed all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah his son king in his place.
  5. As for the other events of Amon's reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  1. 그의 아버지가 걸어간 길을 모두 본받았으며, 그의 아버지가 섬긴 우상을 받들며 경배하였다.
  2. 그리고 조상 때부터 섬긴 주 하나님을 잊어버리고, 주님의 길을 따르지 아니하였다.
  3. 결국 아몬 왕의 신하들이 그를 반역하고, 궁 안에 있는 왕을 살해하였다.
  4. 그러나 그 땅의 백성은 아몬 왕을 반역한 신하들을 다 죽이고, 아몬의 뒤를 이어서, 그의 아들 요시야를 왕으로 삼았다.
  5. 아몬이 한 나머지 모든 일은 '유다 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  1. He was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza. And Josiah his son succeeded him as king.
