열왕기하 24:1-25:30

 유다가 바벨론에 대해 반기를 들자 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살은 1,2차에 걸쳐 예루살렘을 침공하여 여호야김과 여호야긴을 포로로 끌고 가고, 시드기야를 왕으로 세웠다. 그러나 시드기야 역시 반바벨론 정책으로 실책과 악정의 전철을 밟았으며, 결국 바벨론의 3차 침공으로 예루살렘은 멸망당하고 말았다. 포로로 끌려간 여호야긴은 37년 만에 석방되어 일평생 왕 앞에서 먹고 살 수 있게 되었다.
  
  유다의 마지막 왕들(24:1-24:20)    
 
  1. During Jehoiakim's reign, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon invaded the land, and Jehoiakim became his vassal for three years. But then he changed his mind and rebelled against Nebuchadnezzar.
  2. The LORD sent Babylonian, Aramean, Moabite and Ammonite raiders against him. He sent them to destroy Judah, in accordance with the word of the LORD proclaimed by his servants the prophets.
  3. Surely these things happened to Judah according to the LORD's command, in order to remove them from his presence because of the sins of Manasseh and all he had done,
  4. including the shedding of innocent blood. For he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the LORD was not willing to forgive.
  5. As for the other events of Jehoiakim's reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  1. 여호야김이 다스리던 해에, 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살 왕이 쳐들어왔다. 여호야김은 그의 신하가 되어 세 해 동안 그를 섬겼으나, 세 해가 지나자, 돌아서서 느부갓네살에게 반역하였다.
  2. 주님께서는 바빌로니아 군대와 시리아 군대와 모압 군대와 암몬 자손의 군대를 보내셔서, 여호야김과 싸우게 하셨다. 이와 같이 주님께서 그들을 보내신 것은, 자기의 종 예언자들을 시켜서 하신 말씀대로, 유다를 쳐서 멸망시키려는 것이었다.
  3. 이것은, 므낫세가 지은 그 죄 때문에 그들을 주님 앞에서 내쫓으시겠다고 하신 주님의 말씀이, 유다에게서 성취된 일이었다.
  4. 더욱이 죄 없는 사람을 죽여 예루살렘을 죄 없는 사람의 피로 가득 채운 그의 죄를, 주님께서는 결코 용서하실 수 없으셨기 때문이다.
  5. 여호야김의 나머지 행적과 그가 한 모든 일은 '유다 왕 역대지략'에 기록되어 있다.
  1. Jehoiakim rested with his fathers. And Jehoiachin his son succeeded him as king.
  2. The king of Egypt did not march out from his own country again, because the king of Babylon had taken all his territory, from the Wadi of Egypt to the Euphrates River.
  3. Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother's name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan; she was from Jerusalem.
  4. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father had done.
  5. At that time the officers of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on Jerusalem and laid siege to it,
  1. 여호야김이 그의 조상과 함께 누워 잠드니, 그의 아들 여호야긴이 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.
  2. 바빌로니아 왕이 이집트의 강에서부터 유프라테스 강까지, 이집트 왕에게 속한 땅을 모두 점령하였으므로, 이집트 왕은 다시는 더 국경 밖으로 나오지 못하였다.
  3. 여호야긴은 왕이 되었을 때에 열여덟 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 석 달 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 느후스다는 예루살렘 출신인 엘라단의 딸이다.
  4. 여호야긴은 조상이 하였던 것처럼, 주님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다.
  5. 그 때에 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살 왕의 군대가 예루살렘을 치러 올라와서, 이 도성을 포위하였다.
  1. and Nebuchadnezzar himself came up to the city while his officers were besieging it.
  2. Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.
  3. As the LORD had declared, Nebuchadnezzar removed all the treasures from the temple of the LORD and from the royal palace, and took away all the gold articles that Solomon king of Israel had made for the temple of the LORD.
  4. He carried into exile all Jerusalem: all the officers and fighting men, and all the craftsmen and artisans--a total of ten thousand. Only the poorest people of the land were left.
  5. Nebuchadnezzar took Jehoiachin captive to Babylon. He also took from Jerusalem to Babylon the king's mother, his wives, his officials and the leading men of the land.
  1. 이렇게 그의 군대가 포위하고 있는 동안에, 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살 왕이 이 도성에 도착하였다.
  2. 그리하여 유다의 여호야긴 왕은 그의 어머니와 신하들과 지휘관들과 내시들과 함께 바빌로니아 왕을 맞으러 나갔다. 그러나 바빌로니아 왕은 오히려 여호야긴을 사로잡아 갔다. 때는 바빌로니아 왕 제 팔년이었다.
  3. 그리고 느부갓네살은 주님의 성전 안에 있는 보물과 왕궁 안에 있는 보물들을 모두 탈취하여 갔고, 이스라엘의 솔로몬 왕이 만든 주님의 성전의 금그릇들을 모두 산산조각 내어서 깨뜨려 버렸다. 이것은 주님께서 미리 말씀하신 대로 된 일이다.
  4. 더욱이 그는 예루살렘의 모든 주민과, 관리와 용사 만 명 뿐만 아니라, 모든 기술자와 대장장이를 사로잡아 갔다. 그래서 그 땅에는 아주 가난한 사람들 말고는 하나도 남지 않았다.
  5. 느부갓네살은 여호야긴 왕을 바빌론으로 사로잡아 갔다. 그의 어머니와 왕비들과 내시들과 그 땅의 고관들을 모두 예루살렘에서 바빌론으로 사로잡아 갔다.
  1. The king of Babylon also deported to Babylon the entire force of seven thousand fighting men, strong and fit for war, and a thousand craftsmen and artisans.
  2. He made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin's uncle, king in his place and changed his name to Zedekiah.
  3. Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eleven years. His mother's name was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah; she was from Libnah.
  4. He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, just as Jehoiakim had done.
  5. It was because of the LORD's anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence. Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
  1. 또 칠천 명의 용사와 천 명의 기술자와 대장장이를 바빌론으로 사로잡아 갔는데, 이들은 모두 뛰어난 용사요, 훈련된 전사들이었다.
  2. 바빌로니아 왕이 여호야긴의 삼촌 맛다니야를 여호야긴 대신에 왕으로 세우고, 그의 이름을 시드기야로 고치게 하였다.
  3. 시드기야가 왕이 되었을 때에, 그는 스물한 살이었다. 그는 예루살렘에서 열한 해 동안 다스렸다. 그의 어머니 하무달은 리블라 출신으로 예레미야의 딸이다.
  4. 그는 여호야김이 하였던 것과 똑같이, 주님께서 보시기에 악한 일을 하였다.

  예루살렘 함락(25:1-25:30)    
 
  1. So in the ninth year of Zedekiah's reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army. He encamped outside the city and built siege works all around it.
  2. The city was kept under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
  3. By the ninth day of the fourth month the famine in the city had become so severe that there was no food for the people to eat.
  4. Then the city wall was broken through, and the whole army fled at night through the gate between the two walls near the king's garden, though the Babylonians were surrounding the city. They fled toward the Arabah,
  5. but the Babylonian army pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho. All his soldiers were separated from him and scattered,
  1. 시드기야 왕 제 구년 열째 달 십일에 바빌로니아 느부갓네살 왕이 그의 모든 군대를 거느리고 예루살렘을 치러 올라와서 도성을 포위하고, 도성 안을 공격하려고 성벽 바깥 사방에 흙 언덕을 쌓았다.
  2. 그리하여 이 도성은 시드기야 왕 제 십일년까지 포위되어 있었다.
  3. （그 해 넷째 달） 구일이 되었을 때에, 도성 안에 기근이 심해져서, 그 땅 백성의 먹을 양식이 다 떨어지고 말았다.
  4. 드디어 성벽이 뚫리니, 이것을 본 왕은, 바빌로니아 군대가 도성을 포위하고 있는데도, 밤을 틈타서 모든 군사를 거느리고 왕의 정원 근처, 두 성벽을 잇는 통로를 빠져 나와 아라바 쪽으로 도망하였다.
  5. 그러나 바빌로니아 군대가 시드기야 왕을 추격하여, 여리고 평원에서 그를 사로잡으니, 시드기야의 군사들은 모두 그를 버리고 흩어졌다.
  1. and he was captured. He was taken to the king of Babylon at Riblah, where sentence was pronounced on him.
  2. They killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. Then they put out his eyes, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.
  3. On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard, an official of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
  4. He set fire to the temple of the LORD, the royal palace and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every important building he burned down.
  5. The whole Babylonian army, under the commander of the imperial guard, broke down the walls around Jerusalem.
  1. 바빌로니아 군대가 시드기야 왕을 체포해서, 리블라에 있는 바빌로니아 왕에게로 끌고 가니, 그가 시드기야를 심문하고,
  2. 시드기야가 보는 앞에서 그의 아들들을 처형하고, 시드기야의 두 눈을 뺀 다음에, 쇠사슬로 묶어서 바빌론으로 끌고 갔다.
  3. 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살 왕 제 십구년 다섯째 달 칠일에, 바빌로니아 왕의 부하인 느부사라단 근위대장이 예루살렘으로 왔다.
  4. 그는 주님의 성전과 왕궁과 예루살렘의 모든 건물 곧 큰 건물은 모두 불태워 버렸다.
  5. 근위대장이 지휘하는 바빌로니아의 모든 군대가 예루살렘의 사면 성벽을 헐어 버렸다.
  1. Nebuzaradan the commander of the guard carried into exile the people who remained in the city, along with the rest of the populace and those who had gone over to the king of Babylon.
  2. But the commander left behind some of the poorest people of the land to work the vineyards and fields.
  3. The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars, the movable stands and the bronze Sea that were at the temple of the LORD and they carried the bronze to Babylon.
  4. They also took away the pots, shovels, wick trimmers, dishes and all the bronze articles used in the temple service.
  5. The commander of the imperial guard took away the censers and sprinkling bowls--all that were made of pure gold or silver.
  1. 느부사라단 근위대장은 도성 안에 남아 있는 나머지 사람들과 바빌로니아 왕에게 투항한 사람들과 나머지 수많은 백성을, 모두 포로로 잡아갔다.
  2. 그러나 근위대장은, 그 땅에서 가장 가난한 백성 가운데 일부를 남겨 두어서, 포도원을 가꾸고 농사를 짓게 하였다.
  3. 바빌로니아 군대는 주님의 성전에 있는 놋쇠 기둥과 받침대, 또 주님의 성전에 있는 놋바다를 부수어서, 놋쇠를 바빌론으로 가져 갔다.
  4. 또 솥과 부삽과 부집게와 향접시와 제사를 드릴 때에 쓰는 놋쇠 기구를 모두 가져 갔다.
  5. 근위대장은 또 화로와 잔도 가져 갔다. 금으로 만든 것은 금이라고 하여 가져 갔고, 은으로 만든 것은 은이라고 하여 가져 갔다.
  1. The bronze from the two pillars, the Sea and the movable stands, which Solomon had made for the temple of the LORD, was more than could be weighed.
  2. Each pillar was twenty-seven feet high. The bronze capital on top of one pillar was four and a half feet high and was decorated with a network and pomegranates of bronze all around. The other pillar, with its network, was similar.
  3. The commander of the guard took as prisoners Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest next in rank and the three doorkeepers.
  4. Of those still in the city, he took the officer in charge of the fighting men and five royal advisers. He also took the secretary who was chief officer in charge of conscripting the people of the land and sixty of his men who were found in the city.
  5. Nebuzaradan the commander took them all and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
  1. 솔로몬이 주님의 성전에 만들어 놓은, 놋쇠로 만든 두 기둥과, 놋바다 하나와 놋받침대를 모두 가져 갔다. 그가 가져 간 이 모든 기구의 놋쇠는, 그 무게를 달아 볼 수도 없을 정도로 많았다.
  2. 기둥 한 개의 높이는 열여덟 자이고, 그 위에는 놋쇠로 된 기둥 머리가 있고, 그 기둥 머리의 높이는 석 자이다. 그리고 놋쇠로 된 기둥 머리 위에는 그물과 석류 모양의 장식이 얹혀 있는데, 다 놋이었다. 다른 기둥도 똑같이 그물로 장식되어 있었다.
  3. 근위대장은 스라야 대제사장과 스바냐 부제사장과 성전 문지기 세 사람을 체포하였다.
  4. 이 밖에도 그가 도성 안에서 체포한 사람은, 군대를 통솔하는 내시 한 사람과, 도성 안에 그대로 남은 왕의 시종 다섯 사람과, 그 땅의 백성을 군인으로 징집하는 권한을 가진 군대 참모장과, 도성 안에 남은 그 땅의 백성 예순 명이다.
  5. 느부사라단 근위대장은 그들을 체포하여, 리블라에 머물고 있는 바빌로니아 왕에게 데리고 갔다.
  1. There at Riblah, in the land of Hamath, the king had them executed. So Judah went into captivity, away from her land.
  2. Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to be over the people he had left behind in Judah.
  3. When all the army officers and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah as governor, they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah--Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, Jaazaniah the son of the Maacathite, and their men.
  4. Gedaliah took an oath to reassure them and their men. "Do not be afraid of the Babylonian officials," he said. "Settle down in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will go well with you."
  5. In the seventh month, however, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was of royal blood, came with ten men and assassinated Gedaliah and also the men of Judah and the Babylonians who were with him at Mizpah.
  1. 바빌로니아 왕은 하맛 땅 리블라에서 그들을 처형하였다. 이렇게 유다 백성은 포로가 되어서 그들의 땅에서 쫓겨났다.
  2. 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살 왕은, 자기가 유다 땅에 조금 남겨 놓은 백성을 다스릴 총독으로, 사반의 손자요 아히감의 아들인 그달리야를 임명하였다.
  3. 군대의 모든 지휘관과 부하들은, 바빌로니아 왕이 그달리야를 총독으로 임명하였다는 소식을 들었다. 그리하여 느다니야의 아들 이스마엘, 가레아의 아들 요하난, 느도바 사람 단후멧의 아들 스라야, 마아가 사람의 아들 야아사냐와 그의 부하들이 모두 미스바에 있는 그달리야 총독에게로 모여들었다.
  4. 그 때에 그달리야는 그들과 그 부하들에게 맹세를 하면서, 이렇게 당부하였다. "바빌로니아 관리들을 두려워하지 마시오. 이 땅에 살면서 바빌로니아 왕을 섬기시오. 그렇게 하는 것이 여러분에게 이로울 것이오."
  5. 그러나 일곱째 달이 되었을 때에, 엘리사마의 손자이며 느다니야의 아들로서 왕족인 이스마엘이 부하 열 사람을 데리고 와서, 그달리야를 쳐죽이고, 또 그와 함께 미스바에 있는 유다 사람과 바빌로니아 사람들을 죽였다.
  1. At this, all the people from the least to the greatest, together with the army officers, fled to Egypt for fear of the Babylonians.
  2. In the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the year Evil-Merodach became king of Babylon, he released Jehoiachin from prison on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month.
  3. He spoke kindly to him and gave him a seat of honor higher than those of the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
  4. So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes and for the rest of his life ate regularly at the king's table.
  5. Day by day the king gave Jehoiachin a regular allowance as long as he lived.
  1. 그런 다음에 바빌로니아 사람들을 두려워한 나머지, 높은 사람 낮은 사람 할 것 없이, 모든 백성과 군대 지휘관이 다 일어나 이집트로 내려갔다.
  2. 유다의 여호야긴 왕이 포로로 잡혀간 지 서른일곱 해가 되는 해 곧 바빌로니아의 에윌므로닥 왕이 왕위에 오른 그 해 열두째 달 이십칠일에, 에윌므로닥 왕은 유다의 왕 여호야긴 왕에게 특사를 베풀어, 그를 옥에서 석방하였다.
  3. 그는 여호야긴에게 친절하게 대접하여 주면서, 그와 함께 있는 바빌로니아의 다른 왕들의 자리보다 더 높은 자리를 여호야긴에게 주었다.
  4. 그래서 여호야긴은 죄수복을 벗고, 남은 생애 동안 늘 왕과 한 상에서 먹었다.
  5. 왕은 그에게 평생 동안 계속해서 매일 일정하게 생계비를 대주었다.
