역대하 31:1-32:33

 히스기야는 전국에 있는 우상을 없애고, 성전 일을 맡은 제사장과 레위인의 직책을 회복시킨 후 보수 규정을 마련하여 그 직책을 안정시켰다. 그리고 십일조와 예물의 효과적 관리 분배로 불필요한 낭비를 방지하였다. 또한 히스기야는 앗수르 왕 산헤립이 유다를 침략했지만 하나님의 도우심으로 그들을 물리쳤다.
  
  히스기야의 종교 개혁(31:1-31:21)    
 
  1. When all this had ended, the Israelites who were there went out to the towns of Judah, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. They destroyed the high places and the altars throughout Judah and Benjamin and in Ephraim and Manasseh. After they had destroyed all of them, the Israelites returned to their own towns and to their own property.
  2. Hezekiah assigned the priests and Levites to divisions--each of them according to their duties as priests or Levites--to offer burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, to minister, to give thanks and to sing praises at the gates of the LORD's dwelling.
  3. The king contributed from his own possessions for the morning and evening burnt offerings and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, New Moons and appointed feasts as written in the Law of the LORD.
  4. He ordered the people living in Jerusalem to give the portion due the priests and Levites so they could devote themselves to the Law of the LORD.
  5. As soon as the order went out, the Israelites generously gave the firstfruits of their grain, new wine, oil and honey and all that the fields produced. They brought a great amount, a tithe of everything.

  2. 히스기야는 레위 사람들과 제사장들을 갈래를 따라 다시 조직하여, 각자에게 특수한 임무를 맡겼다. 제사장들과 레위 사람들은 각자 맡은 임무에 따라, 번제를 드리는 일, 화목제를 드리는 일, 성전 예배에 참석하는 일, 주님의 성전 여러 곳에서 찬양과 감사의 노래를 부르는 일을 하였다.
  3. 왕도 자기의 가축 떼 가운데서, 아침 저녁으로 드리는 번제에 쓸 짐승을 바치게 하고, 또 안식일과 초하루와 기타 절기의 번제에 쓸 짐승을 바치게 하였으니, 모두 율법에 규정된 대로 하였다.
  4. 그는, 제사장들과 레위 사람들이 주님의 율법을 지키는 일에만 전념할 수 있게 하려고, 예루살렘에 사는 백성에게 명령을 내려서, 제사장들과 레위 사람들의 몫을 가져 오게 하였다.
  5. 왕이 명령을 내리니, 유다에 와서 사는 이스라엘 자손이 곡식과 포도주와 기름과 꿀과 각종 농산물의 첫 수확을 넉넉히 가져 왔고, 모든 것의 십일조를 많이 가져 왔다.
  1. The men of Israel and Judah who lived in the towns of Judah also brought a tithe of their herds and flocks and a tithe of the holy things dedicated to the LORD their God, and they piled them in heaps.
  2. They began doing this in the third month and finished in the seventh month.
  3. When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw the heaps, they praised the LORD and blessed his people Israel.
  4. Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about the heaps;
  5. and Azariah the chief priest, from the family of Zadok, answered, "Since the people began to bring their contributions to the temple of the LORD, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare, because the LORD has blessed his people, and this great amount is left over."
  1. 유다의 여러 성읍에 사는 이스라엘 자손과 유다 자손도 소와 양의 십일조를 가져 왔고, 주 하나님께 거룩하게 구별하여 드릴 물건의 십일조를 가져 왔다. 이렇게 가져 온 것을 차곡차곡 더미가 되도록 쌓았다.
  2. 셋째 달에 쌓기 시작하여, 일을 끝낸 것이 일곱째 달이었다.
  3. 히스기야와 대신들이 와서, 이 더미를 보고서, 주님을 찬양하고, 백성을 칭찬하였다.
  4. 히스기야 왕이 제사장들과 레위 사람들에게 예물 더미에 대하여 묻자,
  5. 사독의 자손인 아사랴 대제사장이 왕에게 대답하였다. "백성이 주님의 성전에 예물을 드리기 시작하면서부터, 우리는 먹을 것을 넉넉하게 공급받았을 뿐 아니라, 남은 것이 이렇게 많습니다. 남은 것이 이렇게 많이 쌓인 것은, 주님께서 그의 백성에게 복을 베푸신 까닭인 줄로 압니다."
  1. Hezekiah gave orders to prepare storerooms in the temple of the LORD, and this was done.
  2. Then they faithfully brought in the contributions, tithes and dedicated gifts. Conaniah, a Levite, was in charge of these things, and his brother Shimei was next in rank.
  3. Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismakiah, Mahath and Benaiah were supervisors under Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by appointment of King Hezekiah and Azariah the official in charge of the temple of God.
  4. Kore son of Imnah the Levite, keeper of the East Gate, was in charge of the freewill offerings given to God, distributing the contributions made to the LORD and also the consecrated gifts.
  5. Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah and Shecaniah assisted him faithfully in the towns of the priests, distributing to their fellow priests according to their divisions, old and young alike.
  1. 히스기야가 주님의 성전 안에 방을 마련하도록 명령을 내리니, 곧 방을 마련하고,
  2. 모든 예물과 십일조와 거룩한 물건들을 각 방으로 날라다가, 정확하게 보관하였다. 이 일을 책임진 사람은 레위 사람 고나냐이고, 부책임자는 그의 아우 시므이이다. 이 두 사람의 지시를 받으며 함께 일할 사람으로는,

  1. In addition, they distributed to the males three years old or more whose names were in the genealogical records--all who would enter the temple of the LORD to perform the daily duties of their various tasks, according to their responsibilities and their divisions.
  2. And they distributed to the priests enrolled by their families in the genealogical records and likewise to the Levites twenty years old or more, according to their responsibilities and their divisions.
  3. They included all the little ones, the wives, and the sons and daughters of the whole community listed in these genealogical records. For they were faithful in consecrating themselves.
  4. As for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who lived on the farm lands around their towns or in any other towns, men were designated by name to distribute portions to every male among them and to all who were recorded in the genealogies of the Levites.
  5. This is what Hezekiah did throughout Judah, doing what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God.
  1. 세 살 이상으로, 족보에 기록된 모든 남자들 외에도, 날마다 주님의 성전에 순서에 따라 들어가서, 책임을 수행하는 남자들에게도 몫을 나누어 주었다.
  2. 가문별로 족보에 기록된 제사장들과, 그들의 갈래에 따라 임무를 맡은, 스무 살이 넘은 레위 사람들에게도 몫을 나누어 주었다.
  3. 또 족보에 기록된 온 회중의 자녀와, 아내가 딸린 식구들에게도, 먹을 몫을 나누어 주었다. 그들 또한 언제라도 필요하면, 그들의 신성한 임무를 수행할 준비를 하고 있어야 하기 때문이다.
  4. 아론의 자손에게 할당된 성읍과 거기에 딸린 목장에 살고 있는 제사장들도 있었는데, 이들 제사장 가문의 모든 남자들과, 레위 사람으로 등록된 남자들에게도 먹을 몫을 나누어 주었다.
  5. 히스기야는 유다 전역에서 이렇게 하였다. 그는 주 하나님 앞에서 선하고 정직하고 진실하게 일을 처리하였다.
  1. In everything that he undertook in the service of God's temple and in obedience to the law and the commands, he sought his God and worked wholeheartedly. And so he prospered.
  1. 그는 하나님의 성전을 관리하는 일이나, 율법을 지키는 일이나, 하나님을 섬기는 일이나, 하는 일마다 최선을 다하였으므로, 하는 일마다 잘 되었다.
 
  산헤립의 침략(32:1-32:33)    
 
  1. After all that Hezekiah had so faithfully done, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, thinking to conquer them for himself.
  2. When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come and that he intended to make war on Jerusalem,
  3. he consulted with his officials and military staff about blocking off the water from the springs outside the city, and they helped him.
  4. A large force of men assembled, and they blocked all the springs and the stream that flowed through the land. "Why should the kings of Assyria come and find plenty of water?" they said.
  5. Then he worked hard repairing all the broken sections of the wall and building towers on it. He built another wall outside that one and reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David. He also made large numbers of weapons and shields.
  1. 히스기야 왕이 이렇게 하나님을 성실하게 섬기고 난 뒤에, 앗시리아의 산헤립 왕이 유다로 쳐들어왔다. 산헤립은 요새화된 성읍들을 공격하여 점령할 수 있을 것이라고 생각하고 진을 쳤다.
  2. 히스기야는 산헤립이 결국은 예루살렘까지 칠 것을 알고,
  3. 대신들과 장군들을 불러서, 성 밖에 있는 물줄기를 메워 버릴 것을 의논하였다. 그들은 왕의 계획을 지지하였다.
  4. 많은 인원을 동원하여, 모든 샘과 들판으로 흘러 나가는 물줄기를 막았다. 앗시리아의 왕들이 진군하여 오더라도 물을 얻지 못하게 할 생각이었다.
  5. 히스기야는 힘을 내어 무너진 성벽을 다시 쌓고, 망대들도 높이 쌓고, 성벽 밖에다 또 한 겹으로 성벽을 쌓았다. 다윗 성의 밀로를 견고한 요새로 만들고, 창과 방패도 많이 만들었다.
  1. He appointed military officers over the people and assembled them before him in the square at the city gate and encouraged them with these words:
  2. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him.
  3. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles." And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.
  4. Later, when Sennacherib king of Assyria and all his forces were laying siege to Lachish, he sent his officers to Jerusalem with this message for Hezekiah king of Judah and for all the people of Judah who were there:
  5. "This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: On what are you basing your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
  1. 군대를 지휘할 전투 지휘관들을 임명한 다음에, 군대를 성문 광장에 불러모으고, 격려하였다.
  2. "굳세고 담대하여야 한다. 앗시리아의 왕이나 그를 따르는 무리를 보고, 두려워하거나 놀라지 말아라. 우리와 함께 계시는 분은 앗시리아의 왕과 함께 있는 자보다 더 크시다.
  3. 앗시리아의 왕에게 있는 것이라고는 군대의 힘뿐이다. 그러나 우리에게는 우리를 도우시고 우리를 대신하여 싸우시는 주 우리의 하나님이 계신다." 백성은 유다 왕 히스기야의 말을 듣고, 힘을 얻었다.
  4. 얼마 뒤에 앗시리아의 산헤립 왕이, 자기는 온 군대를 거느리고 라기스를 치고 있으면서, 자기 부하들을 예루살렘으로 보내어, 유다의 히스기야 왕과 예루살렘에 있는 유다 백성에게 이렇게 말하였다.
  5. "앗시리아의 산헤립 왕이 이같이 말한다. 예루살렘은 포위되었다. 그런데도 너희가 무엇을 믿고 버티느냐?
  1. When Hezekiah says, 'The LORD our God will save us from the hand of the king of Assyria,' he is misleading you, to let you die of hunger and thirst.
  2. Did not Hezekiah himself remove this god's high places and altars, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You must worship before one altar and burn sacrifices on it'?
  3. "Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the other lands? Were the gods of those nations ever able to deliver their land from my hand?
  4. Who of all the gods of these nations that my fathers destroyed has been able to save his people from me? How then can your god deliver you from my hand?
  5. Now do not let Hezekiah deceive you and mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers. How much less will your god deliver you from my hand!"
  1. 히스기야가 너희를 꾀어, 주 너희의 하나님이 너희를 앗시리아 왕의 손에서 건져 줄 것이라고 한다마는, 이것이 너희를 굶어 죽게 하고 목말라 죽게 하는 일이 아니고 무엇이냐?
  2. 주님의 산당들과 제단들을 다 없애 버리고, 유다와 예루살렘에 명령을 내려, 오직 하나의 제단 앞에서만 경배하고 그 위에서만 분향하라고 한 것이, 히스기야가 아니냐?
  3. 나와 내 선왕들이 이 세상의 모든 백성에게 어떻게 하였는지를, 너희가 알지 못하느냐? 그 여러 나라의 신들이 과연 그 땅을 내 손에서 건져 낼 수 있었느냐?
  4. 내 선왕들이 전멸시킨 그 여러 나라의 그 여러 신들 가운데서, 누가 그 백성을 내 손에서 건져 낼 수 있었기에, 너희의 하나님이 너희를 내 손에서 건져 낼 수 있다고 생각하느냐?
  5. 그러니 너희는 히스기야에게 속지 말아라. 그의 꾀임에 넘어가지 말아라. 그를 믿지도 말아라. 어떤 백성이나 어떤 나라의 신도 그 백성을, 내 손에서, 내 선왕들의 손에서, 건져 낼 수 없었는데, 하물며 너희의 하나님이 너희를 내 손에서 건져내겠느냐?"
  1. Sennacherib's officers spoke further against the LORD God and against his servant Hezekiah.
  2. The king also wrote letters insulting the LORD, the God of Israel, and saying this against him: "Just as the gods of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand."
  3. Then they called out in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to terrify them and make them afraid in order to capture the city.
  4. They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world--the work of men's hands.
  5. King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out in prayer to heaven about this.
  1. 산헤립의 부하들은 주 하나님께, 그리고 주님의 종 히스기야에게 더욱 비방하는 말을 퍼부었다.
  2. 산헤립은 주 이스라엘의 하나님을 욕하고 비방하는 편지를 써 보내기도 하였다. 그는 "여러 나라의 신들이 자기 백성을 내 손에서 구원하여 내지 못한 것 같이, 히스기야의 하나님도 그의 백성을 내 손에서 구원해 내지 못할 것이다." 하고 말하였다.
  3. 산헤립의 부하들은 예루살렘 성 위에 있는 백성을 보고 유다 말로 크게 소리를 질러, 백성을 두렵게 하고 괴롭게 하면서, 그 성을 점령하려고 하였다.
  4. 그들은 예루살렘의 하나님을 두고 말하기를, 마치 사람이 손으로 만든 세상 다른 나라 백성의 신들을 두고 하듯이 거침없이 말하였다.
  5. 히스기야 왕과 아모스의 아들 이사야 예언자가 함께 하늘을 바라보며 부르짖어 기도하니,
  1. And the LORD sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the leaders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons cut him down with the sword.
  2. So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others. He took care of them on every side.
  3. Many brought offerings to Jerusalem for the LORD and valuable gifts for Hezekiah king of Judah. From then on he was highly regarded by all the nations.
  4. In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. He prayed to the LORD, who answered him and gave him a miraculous sign.
  5. But Hezekiah's heart was proud and he did not respond to the kindness shown him; therefore the LORD's wrath was on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
  1. 주님께서 한 천사를 보내셔서 앗시리아 왕의 진영에 있는 모든 큰 용사와 지휘관과 장군을 다 죽여 버리셨다. 앗시리아 왕은 망신만 당하고 자기 나라로 되돌아갔다. 그가 그의 신전으로 들어갔을 때에, 제 몸에서 난 친자식들이 거기서 그를 칼로 죽였다.
  2. 이처럼 주님께서 히스기야와 예루살렘 주민을 앗시리아의 왕 산헤립의 손과 모든 적국의 손에서 구하여 내셨다. 주님께서는 사방으로부터 그들을 보호하여 주셨다.
  3. 여러 나라 사람들이 예루살렘으로 예물을 가지고 와서 주님께 드리고, 유다 왕 히스기야에게 선물을 가져 왔다. 그 때부터 히스기야는 여러 나라에서 존경을 받았다.
  4. 그 무렵에 히스기야가 병이 들어 거의 죽게 되었는데, 히스기야가 주님께 기도하니, 주님께서 그에게 응답하시고, 회복될 것이라고 하는 징조를 보여 주셨다.
  5. 그러나 히스기야가 교만한 마음으로, 받은 바 은혜에 감사하지 않으므로, 하나님의 진노가 히스기야와 유다 백성과 예루살렘 주민에게 내렸다.
  1. Then Hezekiah repented of the pride of his heart, as did the people of Jerusalem; therefore the LORD's wrath did not come upon them during the days of Hezekiah.
  2. Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made treasuries for his silver and gold and for his precious stones, spices, shields and all kinds of valuables.
  3. He also made buildings to store the harvest of grain, new wine and oil; and he made stalls for various kinds of cattle, and pens for the flocks.
  4. He built villages and acquired great numbers of flocks and herds, for God had given him very great riches.
  5. It was Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Gihon spring and channeled the water down to the west side of the City of David. He succeeded in everything he undertook.
  1. 드디어 히스기야가 교만하였던 자신을 뉘우치고 예루살렘 주민도 함께 뉘우쳤으므로, 주님께서는 히스기야가 살아 있는 동안에는 그들을 벌하지 않으셨다.
  2. 히스기야는 대단히 부유하게 되었고, 온 천하의 영화를 한 몸에 누리게 되었다. 그는 귀중품 보관소를 만들어서, 은과 금과 보석과 향품과 방패와 온갖 귀중품을 보관하였으며,
  3. 창고를 지어서, 곡식과 새 포도주와 기름 등의 농산물을 저장하였고, 짐승 우리를 만들어 온갖 짐승을 길렀으며, 양 우리를 만들어 양 떼를 먹였다.
  4. 또 성읍들을 더 만들고, 양 떼와 많은 소 떼를 치도록 하였으니, 하나님이 그에게 재산을 그렇게 많이 주셨던 것이다.
  5. 위쪽 기혼의 샘 물줄기를 막고, 땅 속에 굴을 뚫어서, 그 물줄기를 '다윗 성' 서쪽 안으로 곧바로 끌어들인 것도 바로 히스기야가 한 일이다. 히스기야는 하는 일마다 다 잘 되었다.
  1. But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.
  2. The other events of Hezekiah's reign and his acts of devotion are written in the vision of the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
  3. Hezekiah rested with his fathers and was buried on the hill where the tombs of David's descendants are. All Judah and the people of Jerusalem honored him when he died. And Manasseh his son succeeded him as king.
  1. 심지어 바빌로니아의 사절단이 와서 그 나라가 이룬 기적을 물을 때에도, 하나님은 그의 인품을 시험하시려고, 히스기야가 마음대로 하게 두셨다.
  2. 히스기야 통치 때에 있었던 그의 나머지 행적과 그가 주님께 헌신한 일은, 아모스의 아들 예언자 '이사야의 묵시록'과, '유다와 이스라엘 열왕기'에 기록되어 있다.
  3. 히스기야가 죽어 그의 조상과 함께 잠드니, 유다와 예루살렘의 온 백성이 그의 죽음을 애도하고, 그를 존경하여 다윗 자손의 묘실 가운데서도 제일 높은 곳에 장사하였다. 그의 아들 므낫세가 그의 뒤를 이어 왕이 되었다.
