욥기 10:1-12:25

 욥의 계속되는 한탄 가운데 나아마 사람 소발이 욥의 변명에 대해 공격하였다. 그는 하나님의 전능성을 내세워 하나님 앞에서 깨끗하다는 욥의 고백을 비난하면서 욥이 회개하면 용서를 받지만, 그렇지 않으면 무서운 결과가 올 것이라고 충고하였다. 이에 대하여 욥은 자신이 친구들의 조롱거리가 되었고 자신도 지혜와 명철이 하나님께 속한 것임을 알고 있다고 말하면서 그의 억울함을 호소하였다.
  
  욥의 기도(10:1-10:22)    
 
  1. "I loathe my very life; therefore I will give free rein to my complaint and speak out in the bitterness of my soul.
  2. I will say to God: Do not condemn me, but tell me what charges you have against me.
  3. Does it please you to oppress me, to spurn the work of your hands, while you smile on the schemes of the wicked?
  4. Do you have eyes of flesh? Do you see as a mortal sees?
  5. Are your days like those of a mortal or your years like those of a man,
  1. 산다는 것이 이렇게 괴로우니, 나는 이제 원통함을 참지 않고 다 털어놓고, 내 영혼의 괴로움을 다 말하겠다.
  2. 내가 하나님께 아뢰겠다. 나를 죄인 취급하지 마십시오. 무슨 일로 나 같은 자와 다투시는지 알려 주십시오.
  3. 주님께서 손수 만드신 이 몸은 학대하고 멸시하시면서도, 악인이 세운 계획은 잘만 되게 하시니 그것이 주님께 무슨 유익이라도 됩니까?
  4. 주님의 눈이 살과 피를 가진 사람의 눈이기도 합니까? 주님께서도 매사를 사람이 보듯이 보신단 말입니까?
  5. 주님의 날도 사람이 누리는 날처럼 짧기라도 하단 말입니까? 주님의 햇수가 사람이 누리는 햇수와 같이 덧없기라도 하단 말입니까?
  1. that you must search out my faults and probe after my sin-
  2. though you know that I am not guilty and that no one can rescue me from your hand?
  3. "Your hands shaped me and made me. Will you now turn and destroy me?
  4. Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again?
  5. Did you not pour me out like milk and curdle me like cheese,
  1. 그렇지 않다면야, 어찌하여 주님께서는 기어이 내 허물을 찾아내려고 하시며, 내 죄를 들추어내려고 하십니까?
  2. 내게 죄가 없다는 것과, 주님의 손에서 나를 빼낼 사람이 없다는 것은, 주님께서도 아시지 않습니까?
  3. 주님께서 손수 나를 빚으시고 지으셨는데, 어찌하여 이제 와서, 나에게 등을 돌리시고, 나를 멸망시키려고 하십니까?
  4. 주님께서는, 진흙을 빚듯이 몸소 이 몸을 지으셨음을 기억해 주십시오. 어찌하여 주님께서는 나를 티끌로 되돌아가게 하십니까?
  5. 주님께서 내 아버지에게 힘을 주셔서, 나를 낳게 하시고, 어머니가 나를 품에 안고 젖을 물리게 하셨습니다.
  1. clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews?
  2. You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit.
  3. "But this is what you concealed in your heart, and I know that this was in your mind:
  4. If I sinned, you would be watching me and would not let my offense go unpunished.
  5. If I am guilty--woe to me! Even if I am innocent, I cannot lift my head, for I am full of shame and drowned in my affliction.
  1. 주님께서 살과 가죽으로 나를 입히시며, 뼈와 근육을 엮어서, 내 몸을 만드셨습니다.
  2. 주님께서 나에게 생명과 사랑을 주시고, 나를 돌보셔서, 내 숨결까지 지켜 주셨습니다.
  3. 그러나 지금 생각해 보니, 주님께서는 늘 나를 해치실 생각을 몰래 품고 계셨습니다.
  4. 주님께서는, 내가 죄를 짓나 안 짓나 지켜 보고 계셨으며, 내가 죄를 짓기라도 하면 용서하지 않으실 작정을 하고 계셨습니다.
  5. 내가 죄를 짓기만 하면 주님께서는 가차없이 내게 고통을 주시지만, 내가 올바른 일을 한다고 해서 주님께서 나를 믿어 주시지는 않으셨습니다. 그러니 나는 수치를 가득 덮어쓰고서, 고통을 몸으로 겪고 있습니다.
  1. If I hold my head high, you stalk me like a lion and again display your awesome power against me.
  2. You bring new witnesses against me and increase your anger toward me; your forces come against me wave upon wave.
  3. "Why then did you bring me out of the womb? I wish I had died before any eye saw me.
  4. If only I had never come into being, or had been carried straight from the womb to the grave!
  5. Are not my few days almost over? Turn away from me so I can have a moment's joy
  1. 내 일이 잘 되기라도 하면, 주님께서는 사나운 사자처럼 나를 덮치시고, 기적을 일으키면서까지 내게 상처를 주려고 하셨습니다.
  2. 주님께서는 번갈아서, 내게 불리한 증인들을 세우시며, 내게 노여움을 키우시고, 나를 공격할 계획을 세우셨습니다.
  3. 주님께서 나를 이렇게 할 것이라면 왜 나를 모태에서 살아 나오게 하셨습니까? 차라리 모태에서 죽어서 사람들의 눈에 띄지나 않았더라면, 좋지 않았겠습니까?
  4. 생기지도 않은 사람처럼, 모태에서 곧바로 무덤으로 내려갔더라면, 좋았을 것입니다.
  5. 내가 살 날도 이제 얼마 남지 않았습니다. 나를 좀 혼자 있게 내버려 두십시오. 내게 남은 이 기간만이라도, 내가 잠시라도 쉴 수 있게 해주십시오.
  1. before I go to the place of no return, to the land of gloom and deep shadow,
  2. to the land of deepest night, of deep shadow and disorder, where even the light is like darkness."
  1. 어둡고 캄캄한 땅으로 내려가면, 다시는 돌아오지 못합니다. 그리로 가기 전에 잠시 쉬게 해주십시오.
  2. 그 땅은 흑암처럼 캄캄하고, 죽음의 그늘이 드리워져서 아무런 질서도 없고, 빛이 있다 해도 흑암과 같을 뿐입니다.
 
  소발의 첫번째 충고(11:1-11:20)    
 
  1. Then Zophar the Naamathite replied:
  2. "Are all these words to go unanswered? Is this talker to be vindicated?
  3. Will your idle talk reduce men to silence? Will no one rebuke you when you mock?
  4. You say to God, 'My beliefs are flawless and I am pure in your sight.'
  5. Oh, how I wish that God would speak, that he would open his lips against you
  1. 나아마 사람 소발이 욥에게 대답하였다.
  2. 네가 하는 헛소리를 듣고서, 어느 누가 잠잠할 수 있겠느냐? 말이면 다 말인 줄 아느냐?
  3. 네가 혼자서 큰소리로 떠든다고 해서, 우리가 대답도 하지 못할 것이라고 생각하느냐? 네가 우리를 비웃는데도, 너를 책망할 사람이 없을 줄 아느냐?
  4. 너는 네 생각이 옳다고 주장하고 주님 보시기에 네가 흠이 없다고 우기지만,
  5. 이제 하나님이 입을 여셔서 네게 말씀하시고,
  1. and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom, for true wisdom has two sides. Know this: God has even forgotten some of your sin.
  2. "Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
  3. They are higher than the heavens--what can you do? They are deeper than the depths of the grave --what can you know?
  4. Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.
  5. "If he comes along and confines you in prison and convenes a court, who can oppose him?
  1. 지혜의 비밀을 네게 드러내어 주시기를 바란다. 지혜란 우리가 이해하기에는 너무나도 어려운 것이다. 너는, 하나님이 네게 내리시는 벌이 네 죄보다 가볍다는 것을 알아야 한다.
  2. 네가 하나님의 깊은 뜻을 다 알아낼 수 있느냐? 전능하신 분의 무한하심을 다 측량할 수 있느냐?
  3. 하늘보다 높으니 네가 어찌 미칠 수 있으며, 스올보다 깊으니 네가 어찌 알 수 있겠느냐?
  4. 그 길이는 땅 끝까지의 길이보다 길고, 그 넓이는 바다보다 넓다.
  5. 하나님이 두루 지나다니시며, 죄인마다 쇠고랑을 채우고 재판을 여시면, 누가 감히 막을 수 있겠느냐?
  1. Surely he recognizes deceitful men; and when he sees evil, does he not take note?
  2. But a witless man can no more become wise than a wild donkey's colt can be born a man.
  3. "Yet if you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him,
  4. if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent,
  5. then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear.
  1. 하나님은, 어떤 사람이 잘못하는지를 분명히 아시고, 악을 보시면 곧바로 분간하신다.
  2. 미련한 사람이 똑똑해지기를 바라느니 차라리 들나귀가 사람 낳기를 기다려라.
  3. 네가 마음을 바르게 먹고, 네 팔을 그분 쪽으로 들고 기도하며,
  4. 악에서 손을 떼고, 네 집안에 불의가 깃들지 못하게 하면,
  5. 너도 아무 부끄러움 없이 얼굴을 들 수 있다. 네 마음이 편안해져서, 두려움이 없어질 것이다.
  1. You will surely forget your trouble, recalling it only as waters gone by.
  2. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning.
  3. You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
  4. You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor.
  5. But the eyes of the wicked will fail, and escape will elude them; their hope will become a dying gasp."
  1. 괴로운 일을 다 잊게 되고, 그것을 마치 지나간 일처럼 회상하게 될 것이다.
  2. 네 생활이 한낮보다 더 환해지고, 그 어둠은 아침같이 밝아질 것이다.
  3. 이제 네게 희망이 생기고, 너는 확신마저 가지게 될 것이다. 사방을 둘러보아도 걱정할 것이 없어서, 안심하고 자리에 누울 수 있게 될 것이다.
  4. 네가 누워서 쉬어도 너를 깨워서 놀라게 할 사람이 없고, 많은 사람이 네게 잘 보이려고 할 것이다.
  5. 그러나 악한 사람은 눈이 멀어서, 도망 칠 길마저 찾지 못할 것이다. 그의 희망이라고는 다만 마지막 숨을 잘 거두는 일뿐일 것이다.
 
  욥의 답변(12:1-12:25)    
 
  1. Then Job replied:
  2. "Doubtless you are the people, and wisdom will die with you!
  3. But I have a mind as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know all these things?
  4. "I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called upon God and he answered-- a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!
  5. Men at ease have contempt for misfortune as the fate of those whose feet are slipping.
  1. 욥이 대답하였다.
  2. 지혜로운 사람이라곤 너희밖에 없는 것 같구나. 너희가 죽으면, 지혜도 너희와 함께 사라질 것 같구나.
  3. 그러나 나도 너희만큼은 알고 있다. 내가 너희보다 못할 것이 없다. 너희가 한 말을 모를 사람이 어디에 있겠느냐?
  4. 한때는 내 기도에 하나님이 응답하신 적도 있지만, 지금 나는 친구들의 웃음거리가 되고 말았다. 의롭고 흠 없는 내가 조롱을 받고 있다.
  5. 고통을 당해 보지 않은 너희가 불행한 내 처지를 비웃고 있다. 너희는 넘어지려는 사람을 떠민다.
  1. The tents of marauders are undisturbed, and those who provoke God are secure-- those who carry their god in their hands.
  2. "But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
  3. or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you.
  4. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
  5. In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.
  1. 강도들은 제 집에서 안일하게 지내고, 하나님을 멸시하는 자들도 평안히 산다. 그러므로 그들은, 하나님까지 자기 손에 넣었다고 생각한다.
  2. 그러나 이제 짐승들에게 물어 보아라. 그것들이 가르쳐 줄 것이다. 공중의 새들에게 물어 보아라. 그것들이 일러줄 것이다.
  3. 땅에게 물어 보아라. 땅이 가르쳐 줄 것이다. 바다의 고기들도 일러줄 것이다.
  4. 주님께서 손수 이렇게 하신 것을, 이것들 가운데서 그 무엇이 모르겠느냐?
  5. 모든 생물의 생명이 하나님의 손 안에 있고, 사람의 목숨 또한 모두 그분의 능력 안에 있지 않느냐?
  1. Does not the ear test words as the tongue tastes food?
  2. Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?
  3. "To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.
  4. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; the man he imprisons cannot be released.
  5. If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.
  1. 귀가 말을 알아듣지 못하겠느냐? 혀가 음식맛을 알지 못하겠느냐?
  2. 노인에게 지혜가 있느냐? 오래 산 사람이 이해력이 깊으냐?
  3. 그러나 지혜와 권능은 본래 하나님의 것이며, 슬기와 이해력도 그분의 것이다.
  4. 하나님이 헐어 버리시면 세울 자가 없고, 그분이 사람을 가두시면 풀어 줄 자가 없다.
  5. 하나님이 물길을 막으시면 땅이 곧 마르고, 물길을 터놓으시면 땅을 송두리째 삼킬 것이다.
  1. To him belong strength and victory; both deceived and deceiver are his.
  2. He leads counselors away stripped and makes fools of judges.
  3. He takes off the shackles put on by kings and ties a loincloth around their waist.
  4. He leads priests away stripped and overthrows men long established.
  5. He silences the lips of trusted advisers and takes away the discernment of elders.
  1. 능력과 지혜가 그분의 것이니, 속는 자와 속이는 자도 다 그분의 통치 아래에 있다.
  2. 하나님은 고관들을 벗은 몸으로 끌려가게 하시는가 하면, 재판관들을 바보로 만드시기도 하신다.
  3. 하나님은 왕들이 결박한 줄을 풀어 주시고, 오히려 그들의 허리를 포승으로 묶으신다.
  4. 하나님은 제사장들을 맨발로 끌려가게 하시며, 권세 있는 자들을 거꾸러뜨리신다.
  5. 하나님은 자신만만하게 말을 하던 사람을 말문이 막히게 하시며, 나이 든 사람들의 분별력도 거두어 가시고,
  1. He pours contempt on nobles and disarms the mighty.
  2. He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light.
  3. He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them.
  4. He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; he sends them wandering through a trackless waste.
  5. They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.
  1. 귀족들의 얼굴에 수치를 쏟아 부으시며, 힘있는 사람들의 허리띠를 풀어 버리신다.
  2. 하나님은 어둠 가운데서도 은밀한 것들을 드러내시며, 죽음의 그늘조차도 대낮처럼 밝히신다.
  3. 하나님은 민족들을 강하게도 하시고, 망하게도 하시고, 뻗어 나게도 하시고, 흩어 버리기도 하신다.
  4. 하나님은 이 땅 백성의 지도자들을 얼이 빠지게 하셔서, 길 없는 거친 들에서 방황하게 하신다.
  5. 하나님은 그들을 한 가닥 빛도 없는 어둠 속에서 더듬게도 하시며, 술 취한 사람처럼 비틀거리게도 하신다.
