- Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
- Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,
- because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.
- For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
- Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

- 땅에 있는 우리의 장막집이 무너지면, 하나님께서 지으신 집, 곧 사람의 손으로 지은 것이 아니라 하늘에 있는 영원한 집이 우리에게 있는 줄 압니다.
- 우리는 하늘로부터 오는 우리의 집을 덧입기를 갈망하면서, 이 장막집에서 탄식하고 있습니다.
- 우리가 이 장막을 벗을지라도, 벗은 몸이 되지 않을 것입니다.
- 우리는 이 장막에서 살면서, 무거운 짐에 눌려서 탄식하고 있습니다. 우리는 이 장막을 벗어버리기를 바라는 것이 아니라, 그 위에 덧입기를 바랍니다. 그리하여 죽을 것이 생명에게 삼켜지게 하려는 것입니다.
- 이런 일을 우리에게 이루어 주시고, 그 보증으로 성령을 우리에게 주신 분은 하나님이십니다.

- Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord.
- We live by faith, not by sight.
- We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
- So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.
- For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

- 그러므로 우리는 언제나 마음이 든든합니다. 우리가 육체의 몸을 입고 살고 있는 동안에는, 주님에게서 떠나 살고 있음을 압니다.
- 우리는 믿음으로 살아가지, 보는 것으로 살아가지 아니합니다.
- 우리는 마음이 든든합니다. 우리는 차라리 몸을 떠나서, 주님과 함께 살기를 바랍니다.
- 그러므로 우리가 몸 안에 머물러 있든지, 몸을 떠나서 있든지, 우리가 바라는 것은 주님을 기쁘게 해드리는 사람이 되는 것입니다.
- 우리는 모두 그리스도의 심판대 앞에 나타나야 합니다. 그리하여 각 사람은 선한 일이든지 악한 일이든지, 몸으로 행한 모든 일에 따라, 마땅한 보응을 받아야 합니다.
