하박국

  하박국이 활동하던 시기는 유다 왕국이 위기에 처해 있을 때였다. 당시 유다는 국외적으로는 강대국 바벨론 침략 위협을 받고 있었으며, 국내적으로는 종교적, 도적적 타락으로 절망적인 상태에 있었다. 이러한 때에 하박국은 유다에 남은 경건한 사람들을 위로하고 ‘의인은 오직 믿음으로 산다.’고 외쳤다. 이는 기독교 구원론의 근간을 마련한 것이기도 하다.

  본서는 하나님과 하박국 선지자가 나눈 개인적인 대화와 예언적 계시에 초첨을 맞추고 있다. 본서에는 하나님의 주권의 확실성이 표현되어 있으며, 의인을 향한 하나님의 사랑과 악한 바벨론을 멸하시려는 하나님의 의도가 잘 나타나 있다.

 

 

하박국 1:1-3:19

 죄악이 관영한 남유다를 공의의 하나님께서 왜 징계치 않으시는가를 질문한 하박국에게 갈대아를 심판의 도구로 삼아 그들을 심판하시겠다는 하나님의 응답이 주어졌다. 이어 하박국이 왜 유다보다 더 패역한 이방을 사용하여 유다를 심판하시는지를 다시 묻자, 하나님께서는 유다의 심판 도구인 바벨론도 결국에는 심판과 멸망을 당하리라고 말씀하셨다. 이에 하박국은 하나님의 구원을 찬양했다.
  
  공의의 하나님(1:1-3:19)    
 
  1. The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.
  2. How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, "Violence!" but you do not save?
  3. Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
  4. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.
  5. "Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.
  1. 이것은 예언자 하박국이 묵시로 받은 말씀이다.
  2. 살려 달라고 부르짖어도 듣지 않으시고, "폭력이다!" 하고 외쳐도 구해 주지 않으시니, 주님, 언제까지 그러실 겁니까?
  3. 어찌하여 나로 불의를 보게 하십니까? 어찌하여 악을 그대로 보기만 하십니까? 약탈과 폭력이 제 앞에서 벌어지고, 다툼과 시비가 그칠 사이가 없습니다.
  4. 율법이 해이하고, 공의가 아주 시행되지 못합니다. 악인이 의인을 협박하니, 공의가 왜곡되고 말았습니다.
  5. "너희는 민족들을 눈여겨 보아라. 놀라고 질겁할 일이 벌어질 것이다. 너희가 살아 있는 동안에, 내가 그 일을 벌이겠다. 너희가 듣고도, 도저히 믿지 못할 일을 벌이겠다.
  1. I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwelling places not their own.
  2. They are a feared and dreaded people; they are a law to themselves and promote their own honor.
  3. Their horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than wolves at dusk. Their cavalry gallops headlong; their horsemen come from afar. They fly like a vulture swooping to devour;
  4. they all come bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind and gather prisoners like sand.
  5. They deride kings and scoff at rulers. They laugh at all fortified cities; they build earthen ramps and capture them.
  1. 이제 내가 바빌로니아 사람을 일으키겠다. 그들은 사납고 성급한 민족이어서, 천하를 주름 잡고 돌아다니며, 남들이 사는 곳을 제 것처럼 차지할 것이다.
  2. 그들은 두렵고 무서운 백성이다. 자기들이 하는 것만이 정의라고 생각하고, 자기들의 권위만을 내세우는 자들이다.
  3. 그들이 부리는 말은 표범보다 날쌔고, 해거름에 나타나는 굶주린 늑대보다도 사납다. 그들의 기병은 쏜살같이 달린다. 먼 곳에서 그렇게 달려온다. 먹이를 덮치는 독수리처럼 날쌔게 날아온다.
  4. 그들은 폭력을 휘두르러 오는데, 폭력을 앞세우고 와서, 포로를 모래알처럼 많이 사로잡아 갈 것이다.
  5. 그들은 왕들을 업신여기고, 통치자들을 비웃을 것이다. 견고한 성도 모두 우습게 여기고, 흙언덕을 쌓아서 그 성들을 점령할 것이다.
  1. Then they sweep past like the wind and go on-- guilty men, whose own strength is their god."
  2. O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, we will not die. O LORD, you have appointed them to execute judgment; O Rock, you have ordained them to punish.
  3. Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?
  4. You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.
  5. The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad.
  1. 그러나 제 힘이 곧 하나님이라고 여기는 이 죄인들도 마침내 바람처럼 사라져서 없어질 것이다."
  2. 주님, 주님께서는 옛날부터 계시지 않으셨습니까? 나의 하나님, 나의 거룩하신 주님, 우리는 죽지 않을 것입니다. 주님, 주님께서는 우리를 심판하시려고 그를 일으키셨습니다. 반석이신 주님께서는 우리를 벌하시려고 그를 채찍으로 삼으셨습니다.
  3. 주님께서는 눈이 맑으시므로, 악을 보시고 참지 못하시며, 패역을 보고 그냥 계시지 못하시는 분입니다. 그런데 어찌하여 배신자들을 보고만 계십니까? 악한 민족이 착한 백성을 삼키어도, 조용히만 계십니까?
  4. 주님께서 백성들을 바다의 고기처럼 만드시고 다스리는 자가 없는 바다 피조물처럼 만드시니,
  5. 악한 대적이 낚시로 백성을 모두 낚아 올리며, 그물로 백성을 사로잡아 올리며, 좽이로 끌어 모으고는, 좋아서 날뜁니다.
  1. Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, for by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest food.
  2. Is he to keep on emptying his net, destroying nations without mercy?
  1. 그러므로 그는 그 그물 덕분에 넉넉하게 살게 되고 기름진 것을 먹게 되었다고 하면서, 그물에다가 고사를 지내고, 좽이에다가 향을 살라 바칩니다.
  2. 그가 그물을 떨고 나서, 곧 이어 무자비하게 뭇 백성을 죽이는데, 그가 이렇게 해도 되는 것입니까?
 
 
  1. I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
  2. Then the LORD replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
  3. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
  4. "See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright-- but the righteous will live by his faith -
  5. indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.
  1. 내가 초소 위에 올라가서 서겠다. 망대 위에 올라가서 나의 자리를 지키겠다. 주님께서 나에게 무엇이라고 말씀하실지 기다려 보겠다. 내가 호소한 것에 대하여 주님께서 어떻게 대답하실지를 기다려 보겠다.
  2. 주님께서 나에게 대답하셨다. "너는 이 묵시를 기록하여라. 판에 똑똑히 새겨서, 누구든지 달려가면서도 읽을 수 있게 하여라.
  3. 이 묵시는, 정한 때가 되어야 이루어진다. 끝이 곧 온다는 것을 말하고 있다. 이것은 공연한 말이 아니니, 비록 더디더라도 그 때를 기다려라. 반드시 오고야 만다. 늦어지지 않을 것이다.
  4. 마음이 한껏 부푼 교만한 자를 보아라. 그는 정직하지 못하다. 그러나 의인은 믿음으로 산다.
  5. 부유한 재산은 사람을 속일 뿐이다. 탐욕스러운 사람은 거만하고, 탐욕을 채우느라고 쉴 날이 없다. 그러나 탐욕은 무덤과도 같아서, 그들이 스올처럼 목구멍을 넓게 벌려도, 죽음처럼 성이 차지 않을 것이다. 그들이 모든 나라를 정복하고 모든 민족을 사로잡지만,
  1. "Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, " 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?'
  2. Will not your debtors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their victim.
  3. Because you have plundered many nations, the peoples who are left will plunder you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  4. "Woe to him who builds his realm by unjust gain to set his nest on high, to escape the clutches of ruin!
  5. You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.
  1. 정복당한 자 모두가 빈정대는 노래를 지어서 정복자를 비웃으며, 비웃는 시를 지어서 정복자를 욕하지 않겠느냐? 그들이 너를 보고 '남의 것을 긁어 모아 네 것을 삼은 자야, 너는 망한다!' 할 것이다. 빼앗은 것으로 부자가 된 자야, 네가 언제까지 그럴 것이냐?
  2. 빚쟁이들이 갑자기 들이닥치지 않겠느냐? 그들이 잠에서 깨어서, 너를 괴롭히지 않겠느냐? 네가 그들에게 털리지 않겠느냐?
  3. 네가 수많은 민족을 털었으니, 살아 남은 모든 민족에게 이제는 네가 털릴 차례다. 네가 사람들을 피 흘려 죽게 하고, 땅과 성읍과 그 안에 사는 주민에게 폭력을 휘두른 탓이다.
  4. 그들이 너를 보고 '네 집을 부유하게 하려고 부당한 이득을 탐내는 자야, 높은 곳에 둥지를 틀고 재앙에서 벗어나려 하지만, 너는 망한다!' 할 것이다.
  5. 네가 뭇 민족을 꾀어서 망하게 한 것이 너의 집안에 화를 불러들인 것이고, 너 스스로 죄를 지은 것이다.
  1. The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.
  2. "Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and establishes a town by crime!
  3. Has not the LORD Almighty determined that the people's labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
  4. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
  5. "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies.
  1. 담에서 돌들이 부르짖으면, 집에서 들보가 대답할 것이다.
  2. 그들이 너를 보고 '피로 마을을 세우며, 불의로 성읍을 건축하는 자야, 너는 망한다!' 할 것이다.
  3. 네가 백성들을 잡아다가 부렸지만, 그들이 애써 한 일이 다 헛수고가 되고, 그들이 세운 것이 다 불타 없어질 것이니, 이것이 바로 나 만군의 주가 하는 일이 아니겠느냐?
  4. 바다에 물이 가득하듯이, 주의 영광을 아는 지식이 땅 위에 가득할 것이다.
  5. 그들이 너를 보고 '홧김에 이웃에게 술을 퍼 먹이고 술에 취하여 곯아떨어지게 하고는, 그 알몸을 헤쳐 보는 자야, 너는 망한다!' 할 것이다.
  1. You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Now it is your turn! Drink and be exposed ! The cup from the LORD's right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.
  2. The violence you have done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and your destruction of animals will terrify you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  3. "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
  4. Woe to him who says to wood, 'Come to life!' Or to lifeless stone, 'Wake up!' Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it.
  5. But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him."
  1. 영광은 커녕, 실컷 능욕이나 당할 것이다. 이제는 네가 마시고 곯아떨어져 네 알몸을 드러낼 것이다. 주의 오른손에 들린 심판의 잔이 네게 이를 것이다. 더러운 욕이 네 영광을 가릴 것이다.
  2. 네가 레바논에서 저지른 폭력이 이제, 네게로 되돌아갈 것이다. 네가 짐승을 잔인하게 죽였으나, 이제는 그 살육이 너를 덮칠 것이다. 사람들을 학살하면서, 땅과 성읍과 거기에 사는 주민에게 폭력을 휘둘렀기 때문이다.
  3. 우상을 무엇에다 쓸 수 있겠느냐? 사람이 새겨서 만든 것이 아니냐? 거짓이나 가르치는, 부어 만든 우상에게서 무엇을 얻을 수 있겠느냐? 그것을 만든 자가 자신이 만든 것을 의지한다고 하지만, 그것은 말도 못하는 우상이 아니냐?
  4. 나무더러 '깨어나라!' 하며, 말 못하는 돌더러 '일어나라!' 하는 자야, 너는 망한다! 그것이 너를 가르치느냐? 기껏 금과 은으로 입힌 것일 뿐, 그 안에 생기라고는 전혀 없는 것이 아니냐?
  5. 나 주가 거룩한 성전에 있다. 온 땅은 내 앞에서 잠잠하여라."

  2. LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
  3. God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.
  4. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.
  5. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps.
  1. 이것은 시기오놋에 맞춘 예언자 하박국의 기도이다.
  2. 주님, 내가 주님의 명성을 듣습니다. 주님, 주님께서 하신 일을 보고 놀랍니다. 주님의 일을 우리 시대에도 새롭게 하여 주십시오. 우리 시대에도 알려 주십시오. 진노하시더라도, 잊지 마시고 자비를 베풀어 주십시오.
  3. 하나님이 데만에서 오신다. 거룩하신 분께서 바란 산에서 오신다. （셀라） 하늘은 그의 영광으로 뒤덮이고, 땅에는 찬양 소리가 가득하다.
  4. 그에게서 나오는 빛은, 밝기가 햇빛 같다. 두 줄기 불빛이 그의 손에서 뻗어 나온다. 그 불빛 속에 그의 힘이 숨어 있다.
  5. 질병을 앞장 세우시고, 전염병을 뒤따라오게 하신다.
  1. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.
  2. I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
  3. Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD ? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?
  4. You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. Selah You split the earth with rivers;
  5. the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.
  1. 그가 멈추시니 땅이 흔들리고, 그가 노려보시니 나라들이 떤다. 언제까지나 버틸 것 같은 산들이 무너지고, 영원히 서 있을 것 같은 언덕들이 주저앉는다. 그의 길만이 영원하다.
  2. 내가 보니, 구산의 장막이 환난을 당하고, 미디안 땅의 휘장이 난리를 만났구나.
  3. 주님, 강을 보고 분히 여기시는 것입니까? 강을 보고 노를 발하시는 것입니까? 바다를 보고 진노하시는 것입니까? 어찌하여 구원의 병거를 타고 말을 몰아오시는 것입니까?
  4. 주님께서 활을 꺼내시고, 살을 메우시며, 힘껏 잡아당기십니다. （셀라） 주님께서 강줄기로 땅을 조각조각 쪼개십니다.
  5. 산이 주님을 보고 비틀거립니다. 거센 물이 넘칩니다. 지하수가 소리를 지르며, 높이 치솟습니다.
  1. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear.
  2. In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.
  3. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. Selah
  4. With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.
  5. You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters.
  1. 주님께서 번쩍이는 화살을 당기고, 주님께서 날카로운 창을 내던지시니, 그 빛 때문에 해와 달이 하늘에서 멈추어 섭니다.
  2. 주님께서 크게 노하셔서 땅을 주름 잡으시며, 진노하시면서 나라들을 짓밟으십니다.
  3. 주님께서 주님의 백성을 구원하시려고 오십니다. 친히 기름 부으신 사람을 구원하시려고 오십니다. 악한 족속의 우두머리를 치십니다. 그를 따르는 자들을 뿌리째 뽑아 버리십니다. （셀라）
  4. 그들이 우리를 흩으려고 폭풍처럼 밀려올 때에, 숨어 있는 가엾은 사람을 잡아먹으려고 그들이 입을 벌릴 때에, 주님의 화살이 그 군대의 지휘관을 꿰뚫습니다.
  5. 주님께서는 말을 타고 바다를 밟으시고 큰 물결을 휘저으십니다.
  1. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us.
  2. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
  3. yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
  4. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.
  1. 그 소리를 듣고 나의 창자가 뒤틀린다. 그 소리에 나의 입술이 떨린다. 나의 뼈가 속에서부터 썩어 들어간다. 나의 다리가 후들거린다. 그러나 나는, 우리를 침략한 백성이 재난당할 날을 참고 기다리겠다.
  2. 무화과나무에 과일이 없고 포도나무에 열매가 없을지라도, 올리브 나무에서 딸 것이 없고 밭에서 거두어들일 것이 없을지라도, 우리에 양이 없고 외양간에 소가 없을지라도,
  3. 나는 주님 안에서 즐거워하련다. 나를 구원하신 하나님 안에서 기뻐하련다.
  4. 주 하나님은 나의 힘이시다. 나의 발을 사슴의 발과 같게 하셔서, 산등성이를 마구 치닫게 하신다.이 노래는 음악 지휘자를 따라서, 수금에 맞추어 부른다.
 
  위령(威令, 1:7)  원어의 뜻은 권위 또는 위엄인데, 여기서는 권위 있는 명령을 의미함
