  1. Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him.
  2. Then a man named Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, came and fell at Jesus' feet, pleading with him to come to his house
  3. because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him.
  4. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her.
  5. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.
  1. And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
  2. And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
  3. For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
  4. And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
  5. Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
  1. "Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you."
  2. But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me."
  3. Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.
  4. Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."
  5. While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," he said. "Don't bother the teacher any more."
  1. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
  2. And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
  3. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.
  4. And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
  5. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
  1. Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."
  2. When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child's father and mother.
  3. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. "Stop wailing," Jesus said. "She is not dead but asleep."
  4. They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead.
  5. But he took her by the hand and said, "My child, get up!"
  1. But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
  2. And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
  3. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
  4. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
  5. And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
  1. Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.
  2. Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened.
  1. And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
  2. And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

  1. When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases,
  2. and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
  3. He told them: "Take nothing for the journey--no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic.
  4. Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town.
  5. If people do not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet when you leave their town, as a testimony against them."
  1. Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
  2. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
  3. And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
  4. And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
  5. And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
  1. So they set out and went from village to village, preaching the gospel and healing people everywhere.
  1. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
